We must wake up from our sluggish attitude and face the TRUTH that we Christians are second class citizens in Nigeria. We must rise up and repent! We must repent and ask for forgiveness for our stupid role during the Nigerian Civil war that led to loss of millions of Igbos. We must seek forgiveness for the massacred the murderer and plateau son, Yakubu Gowon did to Igbos. We must repent our ways if we are to survive in coming years. I sincerely apologize to my Igbo brothers for the role our idiots brothers, fathers and uncles played during the Nigerian civil war. Pls accept my apology. There's no doubt the massacre going on right now in middle belt is the penance for past sins our people committed during the civil war against the good people of Biafra. I sincerely apologize. It's high time we middle belt rise up and join IPOB. There's absolutely no point remaining in a country were the govt use the Army to provide support for terrorist groups under the leadership of Miyetti Allah, who by the way are being shielded by this satanic govt to kill us in our own land. Yesterday u animals called it fake news while someone was banned for spreading legit info right here by the mods..
Today, the very wicked and highly insensitive people who make up the growing number of useless peeps on NL are calling on the president to act belatedly.
Truth of the matter is, human lives actually means nothing in this part of the world. Some people believed that the moment you report a situation that doesn't correspond with their thought pattern, you are actually taking a swipe @ Mr president who happens to be their infallible Messiah.
Now, every situation has to be dealt in accordance with "fire service approach" resulting in unimaginable loss of lives an properties.
Let those who delight in hiding the truth and promoting lies bear it in mind that what goes around comes around.
Rest in peace Gabriel. The homie that I lost in yesterday's incident. |

Politics › Re: Abakilike Still Exists In Awka-anambra State Government by Jax1: 8:47am On Jun 23, 2018 |
Anambralstson: The Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Mr Leo Nwuba has confirmed that contrary to the recent uproar in the media over the renaming of Abakaliki Street in Awka, the Awka Capital City had long designated another street to be named Abakaliki Street within the Capital City.
The new Abakaliki Street runs from Club Road, across Queen Suites to Enugu-Onitsha Expressway at the Parktonia Hotel end of the road. The street has clear signs identifying it as Abakaliki Street on both ends.
Mr Nwuba expressed surprise that there was no attempt to balance the story of the renaming of the street with the announcement that another street had been also renamed as Abakaliki Street.
Explaining that the renaming of the former Abakaliki Street as ‘Club Road’ was part of the on-going efforts to interpret the Awka City Master Plan, the Council Chairman revealed that the plan was being tweaked to fit things into their proper places.
Mr Nwuba expressed shock that anyone could have read a malicious meaning into the renaming of the street and quickly dismissed the speculation that it was an attempt to discriminate against anyone as false.
Throwing more light on the development, Mr James Eze, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Anambra regretted that the renaming of the street had been given a wrong interpretation by some people.
"Governor Obiano is the last man to put down a fellow human being let alone his own Igbo brothers. It is totally inconceivable that anyone could assume that the renaming of Abakaliki Street was done with an intention to spite anyone. The question to ask is, to what purpose, really?” queried Mr Eze.
According to him, "Governor Obiano has always been clear about what he wants to do about the new Awka Capital City. The former Abakaliki Street and the surrounding area have been designated as the entertainment hub of the city. That is where you have the largest concentration of entertainment hangouts. It is also a part of the city that never sleeps. We have a 24 hours life there. Government has provided adequate security, streetlights, road markings and everything that would encourage a 24 hours life in that axis. That district is gradually evolving into what might be called the Las Vegas of Nigeria especially on Friday nights,” Eze further explained.
He revealed that when there was an effort to rename the old Abakaliki Street as ‘Willie Obiano Avenue', the Governor had quickly turned it down because he wanted the streets within that entertainment circuit to bear names that reflect the offerings of the area.
"He is meticulous about what should be where. That is why he has mapped out an area that would be known as the Central Business District within the capital. Other areas are also being carved out and properly designated. So, there is really no such thing as an attempt to discriminate against anyone in Governor Obiano’s plan.
To underscore Governor Obiano's openness to all, Mr Eze explained that recently, the Governor announced that he had set aside the sum of N765m for commercial motorcyclists in the state to enable them replace their motorcycles with shuttle buses following the policy to restrict them from operating in Awka and Onitsha respectively.
"The beneficiaries of this loan are indigenes of the five states in the South East, Delta and Kogi State who are mostly involved in the motorcycle transport business in Anambra State. This kind of initiative cannot come from a governor who has any intention to discriminate against people,” Eze further explained.
He wondered why anyone would associate Governor Obiano with discrimination of any type, pointing out that "Governor Obiano has always maintained the posture of a modern Nigerian leader who treats every citizen with equal respect and dignity.”
From the Office of the Chief Press Secretary, Government House, Awka This is commendable.. But like I said, it actually means nothing renaming a street as such act isn't the problem affecting the common man out there. The Abakaliki man is hustling to make ends meet not some street naming jamboree that gives him little or no benefit. Dave umahi should have known this before approaching the media to vent his angst |
Politics › Re: FG Failed To Fund 2nd Niger Bridge In 2016/17 Despite Appropriation - Senate by Jax1: 7:21am On Jun 23, 2018 |
GavelSlam: You are a bloody liar.
It was boldly written there "for continuation of the construction work" ... told governor Ifeanyi Ugwuani that the Federal Government was poised to address inadequacies at the airport, adding that a huge amount had been voted into the 2018 budget for the COMPLETION of work at the place.
From the above its obvious that money wasn't even paid reason why another 2 billion was injected in the budget for same project
But since you insist what has been used is ok, the project does not need further allocation of funds. Furthermore, it was claimed that the provision for Construction of the Terminal Building at Enugu Airport was cut from 2 billion Naira to 500 million Naira and that this will further delay the completion of this critical project. However, for the avoidance of doubt, it is necessary to again clarify that during the budget defense and oversight processes, the National Assembly discovered that out of the N2billion contract for the Enugu Terminal Building, N1.7billion had already been paid to the contractor. And what is left to complete this project is justN300million. Hence, the National Assembly approved N500million for the project — which is even N200million more than was required. We refer Nigerians to a publication in THISDAY newspaper published in April and titled “Giving Enugu Airport a Facelift” and written by the newspaper’s Aviation correspondent, Chinedu Eze, where the Minister of State (Aviation), Mr. Hadi Sirika was quoted as saying “We just last week released N1.7billion to the contractor and hopefully also, within the shortest possible time, we will release another N300million for him so that they can quickly finish the airport terminal. This will bring the airport to its desired standard.” Now is it not obvious the 1.7 billion wasn't even paid? This is why another 2 billion was budgeted for same project. |

GavelSlam: No.
The matter is not how you want to twist it.
You believe that poultry of a landing strip can be made of international standard with 2 billion from which 1.7 billion has already been expended.
God punish anybody wey ask for more than 300 million way remain.
300million is all that is left for that poultry.
There's noting to twist here.. She said 2 billion would finish the job. And 1.7 billion had been released. How come the said amount didn't finish the job if she knew what she was saying. I think even the 1.7 billion that was said to have been released was eaten by crooks in this govt.. Little wonder they budgeted another 2 billion for same project. |
Politics › Re: FG Failed To Fund 2nd Niger Bridge In 2016/17 Despite Appropriation - Senate by Jax1: 11:41pm On Jun 22, 2018 |
GavelSlam: Although it restated its commitment to ensure the realisation of an international status for the airport with the release of N1.7 billion for the continuation of construction work at its international wing, it stated that its internationalisation would continue to be delayed until the state government addressed certain lapses that had hindered progress of work.
Minister of State for Aviation, Mr. Hadi Sirika, who stated this yesterday after an inspection tour of facilities at the airport, told Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi that the Federal Government was poised to address inadequacies at the airport, adding that a huge amount had been voted into the 2018 budget for completion of work at the place.
https://m.guardian.ng/business-services/why-international-status-for-akanu-ibiam-airport-is-being-delayed-by-fg/
My take is this; since you believe 2 billion Naira is the total cost of how much the works at the airport should be, then no other sum should ever be appropriated to the airport for construction in future.
Amen.
The question is, was that amount of money, 1.7 billion ever released? If it was released but the money couldn't finish the job due to increase in cost of raw material or for another reason, then it's the duty of the minister to defend her budget proposal and leave the senators with no doubt about injecting additional 2 billion naira to finish the remaining job. I certainly believe the minister of aviation never defended her budget convincingly if @ all she was summoned .. |

GavelSlam: Since you say 2 Billion Naira is sufficient for whatever work needs to be done on the airport then it's ok.
Thunder fire anybody mouth way go ask for money pass the 300 million.
The airport is now standard .
If to say u get sense u for understand say the actual cost for the airport projects was pegged @ 2 billion naira. Now the 1.7 billion that was announced by the minister of aviation, to be released to the contractor is bone of contention here. The very person who awarded the project for 2 billion naira last year, re-awarded another 2 billion for the same project which the Senate rejected, claiming that the actual balance for the project was 300 million as claimed by aviation minister. Now due to certain consideration, additional 200 million was added making it 500 million to enable completion of the said project by the Senate. The question now is, did FG ever released the1.7 billion for that project @ all last year? Ur findings will provide u an ample opportunity to nab the thief.. Believe me ur iconic messiah is culpable. |

legitnow: One Nigeria is to hold Igbo People backward in all ramification.
Leave Bridge and think about Airport that GEJ nearly completed before living office and how funds for Enugu Airport are being canceled.
It will never be well with Nigeria. Funds meant to give enugu international airport some face-lift wasn't cancelled. In fact the total amount budgeted for it last year was 2 billion naira. According to minister of aviation sometime ago, she said " the sum of 1.7 billion naira will be released to the contractor to facilitate construction works @ the airport with a balance of 300 million remaining to complete the project" . This year, the criminal buhari budgeted another 2 billion for the same project which the Senate saw as improper and went ahead to approve just 500 million naira to complete the project as previous balance was 300 million naira.. Now it behoves on FG to do the needful with 500 million which in my opinion is simply proper.. Question we should be asking is, where is the construction work on the airport so far after the FG released 1.7 billion naira. If findings reveals that no work was actually done with that money for the said airport project then it is proper to conclude that buhari is just another thief |
