Ok.

It's 90/10

As it stands now, my ground on the Game between England and Nigeria is 50/50 … Anybody can win forget the England of a thing.. If we can remain Compact we can hold them to 120minutes draw and beat them on penalties which I know too well they ain’t that good at.. We can as well win the game within the 90minutes…

Deltamani abeg abeg which 50/50 grin? oh pleaseee

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm really happy for hervé renard honestly. He's been in the game for a very long time and know he's getting the recognition he deserves.

This isn't surprising.

1. South Africa has a football philosophy. The ladies and the men play exactly the same way. The have a lot of pace and make smooth forward transitions. If you've followed South African football for sometime you'll know this. They didn't start playing like this today. The only issue is it doesn't translate into success. They don't really know how to win.

2. Like I said earlier, a large chunk of this South Africa team has played together for years. Coupled with their philosophy they'll definitely look a lot better.

3. The general outlook of the falcons gameplay isn't peculiar to them. If you watch the Super Eagles, they have the same problem. The eagles find it extremely difficult stringing passes together. It's a Nigerian issue that needs solving. The super Falcons are even getting better.

4. If more importance is the fact that the Super Falcons are a young team. When I say young I don't necessarily mean age (even though it's a part of it) but Korea importantly the time spent playing together. To explain better:

3 (75%) starting members of our defence (Demehin, Plumtre and Alozie) have been in the team for about 2 years or less. They've been actively playing together for less than a year.

5 persons have played in midfield for us since the word cup began (Abiodun, Ayinde, Payne, Echegini and Ucheibe). 4 (80%) of them have been in the team for 2 years or less and have been actively playing together for less than a year.

1 of the 3 players in attack (Onumonu) has been in the team less than 2 years and has been actively playing for 1.

This isn't making excuses as we demand better from the team. I'm just accounting for some reasons why this is. Randy has sorted out this team defensively to a large extent. Hopefully we can begin to work io . possession and transition moving forward.

Great explanation, my question now is are the other big national teams adopting this system? For all i know Ciacedo hasn't been in the first team for years.

Just one goal against Ireland would have paired us against Denmark, the easier team.

We just hope to scale through against the English side.

In the world cup there's no easy opponents. Somehow some of us prefer England to Denmark because the girls would want to prove a point. We've faced lesser sides and became complacent in the past.

I'm not even surprised at the pessimism of some people. Most never even gave the girls any chance. Most opined that we were going to lose 3 games and come home, we however qualified from the group unbeaten conceding only 2 goals with 2 clean sheets.

Monday is almost here, and really hoping you're surprised again.

Are you minding them, even waldrum said no-one gave them a chance of qualifying. Now that we've succeeded instead of being at least happy but No we want to reach the quarter and semis all of a sudden.. lol

We must continue to play as a team. I know a lot of people have criticised the super falcons performance so far but i do feel the style suits knockout games. The results is the most important.

Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum, has lauded his side’s performance in the group stage of the Women’s World Cup despite scepticism from several quarters and a bonus row just before the competition. Despite these, Nigeria made a bright start to the tournament with a well-deserved draw against now-ousted Canada (2020 Olympic Champions) courtesy of the heroics from shot-stopper Nnadozie. They replicated this with a statement victory against co-hosts Australia in Brisbane on Thursday.
With a round of 16 qualification guaranteed Waldrum praised his side’s team spirit and perseverance even though not many believed them.

“I just told them, two years ago when we started this journey, so many things went well and so many things didn’t go well. They never gave up. They continued to believe.“I don’t anybody think anybody out here believed that we can get out of this group and go through it without losing a match in this group,” he said in an interview with NFF TV

“I am so proud of them and the efforts they’ve put in; so happy for them they’ve put in their experiences and they move on to the next round.”

For the record 📉

✅ 6 games unbeaten for the Super Falcons 🦅 now!

✅ FIRST African team to keep two cleansheets at the FIFA Women's World Cup

✅ First time going to the knockout stages UNBEATEN!

✅ FIRST time Nigeria is proceeding out of a group with a positive goal difference (+1)

There's a lot to be optimistic about going into this game.

Precise how? Did you watch their first 2 game?

Why weren't they "as precise" against Haiti and Denmark?

After Denmark conceded England were mostly outplayed. This China game is far from the true state of things. They are are great team o, but making it sound like we dint have a chance is what I am countering. If they win Nigeria it will probably be by one goal.

I'm also not saying it will be very easy for them actually. I'm just letting you know that england aren't them. Moreover it's not the first time they start slowly

Yea. They are not even making any effort defensively. Certainly not a reflection of what will happen against Nigeria.

Yeah but ireland and canada are not as precise as england.

Only those not watching the game can reach this conclusion. You mean a goal that came from a school boy error that Nigeria isn't likely to make, and a weak short that Chiamaka Wil save?

What significant thing has England done since then?

No matter how you rubbish them, there's a gap in quality between falcons and england. All they need is one moment of magic which in all our games so far we have given but both canada and Ireland couldn't. I don't see England not smashing those in. Hopefully the gods of football are still with us cos this game reminds me of france vs super eagles 2014. They just needed one chance and they buried us. Not because we were not good but because the gap in quality between the eagles and france was massive.
