Again, you'll only be surprised about Oshoala if you don't watch her at Barcelona. At some point, I even concluded that being a Barcelona hasn't helped her to become a better player even though she's won so many laurels with them. At Barca, she's required for the bear minimum. All she does is position in the box, and score. She's sometimes required to make runs but that's very rare.

She misses so many chances. She may have to get 10 chances to score 1. Our role every week is to defend her on their YouTube page from attacks by some racist Barcelona fan. (lol) even though there's truth to some of the things they say sometimes.

I still think she has a lot to offer the team, she must needs to take personal responsibility. Get a personal trainer that will help you improve your game. He contract ends with Barcelona in 2024, and there's pressure from some fans not to renew her contract and go instead for a better striker. If her contract isn't renewed and she gets to join another team, her inadequacies will become more apparent.

Really hoping she works on herself.

Tbh i feel like she's become too comfortable in the past few years. There's fire or hunger in her anymore that she used to carry. The expectations have begin to get to her and because she's lost touch with who she used to be then it begins to show in her game. It's visible in barca but it's much more visible when she's playing in green. I don't know if it's too late for her to find her feets again but she does need to step up.

Will be supporting England from now on 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. No better self consolation than we lost to the World champions and gave them a tough time grin

I'd prefer supporting Australia don't you think? grin

you're right.

I was thinking the NFF should get SA's coach and her entire coaching staff if she resigns from SA...

or they should start training on ball possession and players distance from each other..

If waldrum leaves we must get her please. i said this time and time again that if southy had part of our mid and entire defense then that's a worldcup winning team. Areas we lack is the cohesion isn't just right, feels forced.

When you never expect yourself to accomplish anything, nothing will ever be accomplished. The bar and metrics of success and expectations is just too fucking low in this country... Like we never expect anything from ourselves and our country. Whenever we see a slimmer of success or progress, it feels like Jesus just came down from heaven or automatically Nigerian.

This game was literally there to be won and it's possibly the best the super falcons have ever had since participating in any FWWC...But we gotta make excuses and think we've achieved beyond what we can achieve. Smh.

With this mindset, we can never become whatever it is we are to become.

Exactly o, this mentality should be abolished. We are not wrong for our expectations to rise given how poor england was during the match. It was ours, we just needed to stretch our hands to take it. If we're not at our best for sure I'd count as lucky but we were! this was the game! our game! our chance but we couldn't just take it. Wrong substitutions for me caused this thing. Match rusty oparanozie taking the first pk was a NO NO but all the same it wouldn't be unfair to bash waldrum because tactically we were good but this substitutions were horrendous.

Oparanozie is a good PK taker so I wasn't surprised to see her step out up the first.

When she missed, my hope of us winning dimmed.

Super proud of the gals. Most people apart from lovewins, myself and a few others predicted us to lose in regulation time but the gals held their own.

The team exceeded expectation.

Going forward, NFF should renew Randy's contract, he's built a solid side and can only get better with this team.

And lest I forget, Onome Ebi and Ordega should leave the team

It's not about renewing. Would he stay

I feels now like james redcard was our undoing. A felt somehow like that after the card but i shrugged the feeling off. We play better when the opposition takes the game to us and that showed all through extra time. Make we go start dey learn possession football biko

I'm still coming. I never ruled Nigeria losing out. I however was specific with a few things:

1. England will not overrun us
2. Lauren James will not have her way.

Both came to pass.

People with football brain knew this exactly. We had the game in our hands but the final touches were just off as it has been through the tournament except against Australia
Sports / Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jaybee3456: 11:35am On Aug 07, 2023
I wonder if we didn't take penalty drills in training. Oparanozie starting was a huge mistake

What expectations? what kinda Stockholm syndrome is this? looks like we're not allowed to demand better from ourselves and do better.

Why do we always set the bar so damn low?

Don't get me wrong, the girls and staff have done well given the circumstances, but it wasn't like them doing well was out of the realm of possibilities.

That's the reason why our teams keep remaining trash. We had this game in our hands but NO they went to pks

Even if this match enters penalties...

Chiamaka Nnadozie is in beast mode at the moment.
All her players need to do is score.

My best player so far in this game is Asleigh Plumptre

Oh boy it's best not to got to penalties please we have the upper hand
