2Pistols: I'll answer these questions if you can tell me why there are corpers currently in NYSC camps across the country without your so called 'equipments'. A better idea would be to go to those camps and ask them those questions.Well, forgive me if I "vexed" you, As I can recall, the stream1 corpers were already in camp before the "OutIbreak" of the EVD, yes Patrick Sawyer(RIP) was in naija before the camp started, but the "Out-Break" was after d camp had already commenced. I would like all of us to see this scenario, we're graduates, Imagine say 8lagosians already infected but with d virus still in d incubation stage in their bodies, travel to diff camps for d stream2 orientation for 3 weeks(21 days...exact incubation limit) and maybe on d 18th day they broke down, won't this possibly mean that atleast 15% in that camp is infected and also in their incubation stage, imagine them returning to their families and friends in diff states, OMG! That would be a disaster I think, and while we are hoping for the arrival of the ZMapp or whatever would be used to curb this EVD, d FG having asked for d suspension of pry and secondary school resumption, is asking we skip d 3 weeks.... We should be thankful, that it wasn't suspended indefinitely, but we've been considered to just come and go, I think its logical enough. And please, this is just my opinion, atleast, I have that right... Cheers man! |
2Pistols: GUYS !!! I created a petition for us on Change.orgPermit me to ask; Why do you think d camp must hold? Is it that you feel ebola is a scam? Or you feel the FG must set up all equipments to manage it in camp? (When there's no cure yet?)? Please, I really need more reasons why under the prevailing circumstances in the nation, you feel we should raise a petition against this make-shift plan by the FG, or is it because its a once-in-a-lifetime-EXPERIENCE? Reasons please?...No offense |
zanga420: it pains me how hard its for our youth to grasp understanding. We have a situation in our hand precaution is taken to avoid it escalating it becomes problem. Assuming in any of the camps an epidemic breaks out u'll be the 1st to call govt names. Maybe we deserve the governments we get, its patheticI agree with you bro...this is of d greater good...but I have an idea for those who are craving for "camp experience" Permit me to go solo with this: "Infact make nysc ask all who want camp to indicate in d registration, den after two weeks arrange an isolation camp for them, while we r gettin posting letters, de will go for dia EXPERIENCE dat de want...after which de should do ebola test for all of dem if anyone complain of headache at all...dats anoda 21days extra incamp, den de can resume ppa," |
And I saw an online petition against the new schedule....well I feel we should all gladly accept this schedule, its all for d nation's good.... On a lighter note, if you've purchased all ur camp needs, take dis free advice: .....wear d all white to the registration centre, wrap yourself wit d mosquito nets u bought, jog about daily at ur residential area with d other whites...wen u sneeze use d tissue u bought for camp....aha! Wear d pouch in d bus to the reg centre.... No hard feelings guys...it all happened for a reason |
Just got this BC....*try to verify* News update about NYSC stream ii batch B. The Stream II State Coordinators had a meeting with the Director General Brig. Gen. J. B. Olawumi yesterday 18th August, 2014 at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja. At the end of the meeting which lasted for about 2 hours and ended at about 5:58 PM, management was able to reach a consensus that >> There will be no conventional camp for Stream II Corps Members ie (No Lectures, Drills, Parade, etc) only registration which should not exceed 2days at most and they leave the camp. They will come back in 2weeks for their posting letter. This is very to curb all chances of prospective corps members contacting the deadly Ebola Virus while trying to serve their father land. Relocation forms will also be filled alongside registration for those interested & successful Corps members gets their relocation letters immediately & report to the State of relocation in 2weeks. Corps Members will open accounts as usual & receive all their allowances ie bicycle, transport & 1st monthly allowance usually given on camp. The Stream II date starts Sept 1st and ends Sept 8th (8days only). So Stream II NYSC staff & other camp officials are spending just 8days on camp. NOTE: If a Corps member registers and is issued kits & gets all allowances, he/she leaves the camp till 2wks time to collect posting letter. So in a nutshell no Orientation Course for Stream II Corps members. Once fine-tuning is completed, updates will be posted on our website before the week runs out. The DG NYSC will grant some press interview on the matter soonest. Above is the summary of the update on Stream II. You will be informed of other developments on it subsequently. Thanks. |

If you schooled in FUTMinna, you know you already have all the needed military training required!!! Lol |
sampete: No more camping....very annoying, after all d money spent!Oh, sorry bro...I'd say I'm just lucky to have succeeded in NOT buying even a pin yet... But...life goes on....wishing u all a wonderful service year ahead. |
With the recent development, we would have our 3WEEKS camp on a table (possibly filling a form) in less than 1hour....that's a lot of camp-fun I guess?...lol.. JG fellas....life's path for everyone is different...maybe we weren't supposed to be in camp afterall,,,#GodAloneKnows |
siegfried99: OK good for u.. I'm heading to abuja camp September 1.. good luck.Oh Yobe bros! I hail...I'm headin to KayDee....if d postponement rumor is false |
Ojestas: S.O.R, Call up letter and school ID card. Make like 5 copies each, though they haven't been requested for. As for the passport, you would be asked to snap another passports with the crested NYSC shirt, U can make like 20 copies of this so that you can make use of it in camp. Nevertheless, come with few passports. Welcome to black Gold camp in advance. but The soldiers no dey try. They don't allow us rest except on Sundays. What a name "black gold" nice, but wat of weather clothing advice? Thanks o |
siegfried99: Bros u no try oo.. thread of 2 years ago..Lol I just got interested in it wen I saw it |

sampete: ...and watz so annoying, nothing of this nature on thier web page!Just d DG's quoted speech....I'd advice we all plan towards Sept 1st........#ThisIsNaija |
There's proly no need for this "war" friends, everyone has his/her life to live graduate or no graduate....degree is not a definition of education..technically..... Wearing a Tattoo is a thing of choice, the way the society sees is dependent on the "society" in question.... There are Office/Corporate executives who have dreads on, and they still sit in board meetings, So guy(asker) just hope your ppa boss doesn't make a mountain out of this mole-hill, and ofcos...that you're rejected here, doesn't mean its gonna be so there.... Let's all appreciate d fact that our opinions are being sought for,, refrain from abusive words/comments, else just stay silent, and maybe join the list of "viewers" of the post...its not a must you comment.... #BeYourself |
Staying longer than dis month end now.....hmmm |
Hey kayD campers at d moment, could any of you drop a low down on the "unknown" necessities stream2 corpers(initially posted to jigawa but will camp in kayD) should ensure they bring to camp for an easier experience? Thanks...this will help many stream2 from JG plan accordingly.....#iRepJG |
Yea, the rumor also claims he said that not a single day will be added to our POP day with stream 1....I guess because the delay is not our fault. Technically, the suspension decision is a welcome idea, nigeria doesn't need mass-movement-to-gather action now, we hope nanosilver works, and this outbreak brought under control. |
@joseraji nope, I just decided to drop that info,, JG certainly a great place to serve, life's easy there, and a good place to kick start life too. But to the ladies....be careful of suya sellers...jigawa has a history of a lady corper who ended up getting prego for a suya seller... |
Lol...I just got info from sokoto camp that a VERY HIGH majority came with medical reports seeking redeployment and NYSC, Sokoto is talking about taking all of them for medical screening and verification of the medical reports....now that's some big blow on all the fake reports... |
A friend in kd camp currently just told me that rubber white shoes are better than the all-stars,nike, Adidas etc cos of easy cleaning... Then from kubwa camp mami market d rubber shoes go for from 1200-2500 per pair when outside d camp is 500 naira...I guess this will help us plan also. But I'm just wondering how parading in rubber shoes would feel like...*thinking*....but well, every1 get atleast a pair of rubber shoes, peace! |
omotayos01: Lolz. The guy dey see vision.Well, I did say that I hoped d sources are true, and I think when we get to kd, we'll know d real deal, but for what reason would jigawa be classified as stream 2 and camp relocated to kd? Osun was cos of election, JG? |
I hope these links are true, but a friend said he read same news in the dailies. nigerianuniversitynews.com/2014/06/nysc-longer-post-corpers-to-troubled-north-eastern-states-dg.html kokofeed.com/2014/05/16/nysc-stops-posting-corp-members-to-the-north-east-states-under-emergency-rule/ |
A person can't even dare to have malaria now cos he'll be considered an ebola patient.....what a panic-striken Nigeria! |
Jigawa Reporting! FUT,Minna.... Elect/Elect. Engr'n Jigawa is peaceful, relatively low cost of living but I guess the surrounding states made NYSC authorities to categorize it as a crisis-prone state. As it stands, The DG of NYSC has claimed that any corper going to serve in the north-east is going on his/her own volition. This brings the question, "why would I want to go to a place tagged "crisis-prone" when obviously, the government has taken its hands of protection off of me?" And since we're given the option of redeployment, We should know the best option to take |
B.Sc, B.Eng, B.Tech etc are all degrees on "paper"....be sure you know your value/self-worth, and afterall, the major target is d job..... ;DB.Sc, B.Eng, B.Tech etc are all degrees on "paper"....be sure you know your value/self-worth, and afterall, the major target is d job.....![]() |
