Bro, can I use my CHN in cowrywise for Cardinal Stone sign up and other platforms as well?
Yes, during sign up, u will see a space to enter your CHN number if u already have one. Every broker have this space on their sign up page.

Anyone still converting naira to dollar to invest because of devaluation doesn't know anything about investment and they are losing a lot of money.

Since the emergence of our president, all naira investments have been doing so well and great.
If u buy a land of 10m naira & save another 10m in the bank. Which do u think will be more valuable in a few years? The US dollar is the most traded currency in the world & it is the country with the best economy in the world. It is just a matter of time, inflation will force naira to succumb to the US dollar. Any gains u are seeing now is just temporary.

Anyone converting to dollar at this point is still operating on the old Knowledge that Naira will crash soon against the dollar.

I won't blame them, if you think about it, Not everyone has access to financial knowledge update like we share with ourselves on this forum and even on YouTube.

Most people stumble on financial news updates by accident, only few go actively looking for it, hence, the reason for the wide gap in knowledge.
Are u looking at it from a long term perspective? Saying naira won't fall against dollar means there will no longer be inflation. America has the best economy in the world reason the USD was adopted as the reserve currency. The dollar will always be ahead of the naira in terms of beating inflation. Our production output has not increased, export is still low & import is going higher, forget about the temporary gains. Long term naira will fall against dollar, same way dollar will fall against gold. Go check history. What was the value of naira to USD in the early 90s, 2000, that will give u the answer.

You are right. People like me is investing in MMF, and even buying some small shares here and there .. This is my retirement plan. I am in for compounding effect. I have been using cowrywise majorly, right now, I want to add equity investment.

The only thing I think it's a waste of time and that can't really best inflation is fixed deposit.

Can you suggest platforms/apps where I can be able explore equity investment very well?
I just started using Stanbic equity recently. The op of the thread has been using cardinal stone & has confirmed it is good too.

Lol, I am literally reading all your inputs. You are so knowledgeable in this. Thank you.

Btw, Why did you say equity fund is not good for people above 45?
Because of time
Investments with high volatility are not recommended for people approaching 50. Equity has high potential of greater returns, but it is also very risky. The more time u have on your side, the longer u can wait to absorb any loss & wait for a recovery.

there's a stage in one's life when what's more important is growing and improving their value.

for me, I use MMF and the likes just to earn much more than my savings account can pay me. I focus my time + energy into improving on those things I did that fetched me that money.

Plus with MMF and the likes, I kinda have become more stingy to people than before which to me is good enough.

Make more money, invest in offline and online routes. No percentage of MMF beats running a business especially if your portfolio balance is less than 50-million naira.

My method is, I start with you, the day your interest drops so low, I continue with others while keeping with you what's already invested. And except you no longer worthy to be entrusted with my funds, I leave them with you.
Growing your finance is also part of growing your value. Often times the end goal of growing your value & gaining knowledge is to make money. Also saying no percentage of mmf beats running a business offline if portfolio balance is less than 50m is false. If u have half of 50m which is 25m in trustbanc using their current interest rate, that gives u about 400k plus monthly, how many people earn more than that offline in Nigeria? You may not have the time & energy to move your money to fund managers with higher interest rate because u have an offline business, someone without offline business should have the time & energy to move their money so as to maximize the best out of their funds.

So far these rate are not below 15%, let's allow these funds do the needful: compounding. What I think should be done is to invest daily, monthly or quarterly depending on our capabilities. Monitoring rates like this makes it look like we are monitoring stock prices daily. Try not to be too attached to these investments and allow them do what they do best: compounding.

Meanwhile don't close both of your eyes.
Every investor needs to monitor rate & move to any fund manager with higher rate if need be in this our economy. Seems most of u are forgetting the naira is a very weak currency, I personally think 15% is still low. Year on year inflation rate as at December 2025 was 15.15% & interest rate on your weak naira is 15%, are u really investing or just protecting your funds? Investment should come with growth.

Expect anything in crypto these days, I remember how some people were yarning dust last year that BTC will never go below 100K but here we are under 80K.

For your info the World Bank is urging El Salvador to sell their holding of BTC...if they do that we all know the impact it will have on price
Which people?
Btcee that spent the whole of last year dragging between 100k to 117k & barely cross 120k, I don't believe any sane person would have said it won't go below 100k in a bear market. I doubt if anyone ever said that here.

I have a question. I've been trying to build my portfolio gradually and so far I have above 15m across different platform, specifically ARM and Stanbic equity fund. Somebody wants to sell a plot of land for 12m and I'm considering buying it. The implication is that I will have to liquidate parts of my investment for this and I may not be able to continue building my portfolio because my income that would've ordinarily go into my portfolio will now be used to develop the land. I'm also considering the madness going on with housing in Nigeria where a 2 bedroom flat is nothing less than 1.5m/yr in a moderate area and in years to come it will still go up. Guys pls what would advise? Should I continue to build my portfolio as I treat it as a side business for me or I should put all my investment in buying and developing the land?
You better go buy that land & start building your house gradually if u don't have a house of your own. If u take out 12m, u still have a balance of around 3 to 4m, u can start building your portfolio with that while u build ur house gradually. Truth is paper investment interest rate can never match land inflation. We are talking about naira here not even dollar. The only advantage paper investments have over land is cash flow & liquidity.

The only two assets that match land inflation is Bitcoinn & gold, most especially Bitcoinn. One bedroom that was going for just 250k in my area 5 years ago, is now going for 1.5m to 2m, a land a friend bought for 3m in lugbe is now selling for 30m, which paper investment wan match that one. This land they are telling u 12m now, come back in 4 years, the price go shock u. By then Mutual fund interest rate fit don drop sef, because these paper investments follow inflation rate stated by govt which is not a true reflection of the actual inflation rate.

Even BNB is going to $10k long term
If ethereum don't buckle up, BNB will overtake ethereum to become number one altcoin. I don't know how they are doing it, but their price movement has been closely following that of btcee for sometime now.

I disagree with you. Prime pro has not been able to validate my BVN for over 1 week now. I have called their support and they have not been able to fix it. Imagine that. But with myinvestar everything was cool except for the phone number that was on my BVN account which was my old phone number. I sent them email and they by passed it. So MyInvestar is far better for now. As for my FBN Quest account I have given the money in the account because I am not going back there again. The service is outdated.

The best for me now in terms of app and services is Meristem. I just dont know why people here dont talk about them. And rate is good too
But why is this meristem play store review so poor?

Myinvestar app is one of the best in terms of responsive platform. I have never had any need to contact support on myinvestar app because process is smooth, fast & automated. From registration to deposit everything has been smooth & fast on my side oh. I think they have the fastest withdrawal rate too.

The delay with prime pro when posting transferred funds to mmf and posting interest on the mmf is too much. I'm even contemplating liquidating my mmf in prime pro to fund same trustbanc mmf in cowrywise
Exactly my brother
I no understand that prime pro app
The app is not responsive at all, cowrywise is more responsive. Up till now I'm unable to verify my nin on their app to complete my profile.

Good evening everyone

Can someone please guide me on how to access my CSCS account? The last time I received a statement was in 2017 when I did a change of name. I also noticed that the CSCS No and CHN on 2 statements i have are different and I am wondering why.?

I'm trying to resurrect my interest in stock investment and I just do not know where to start from.

A point in the right direction would be highly appreciated.

Thank you

Disregard balanced fund, it's a waste of time.

Either do straight up Equity mutual funds or compound money with MMF or just do fixed income.

Balance fund is a mixed of fixed income and Equity, it's a waste of time because, In Fixed income, while you get steady returns (eventhough small) and can top up to get more, your capital remains intact and preserved while you enjoy the daily returns but if it were to be balanced fund, that regular dip would make you lose that potential fixed income returns for that day you see red.

So do straight up Equity to enjoy purely days of Green and accept fate on days of red and do straight up fixed income for constant little returns eventhough I advice to invest big money to see tangible returns.

Ditch balanced fund, it only favors fund managers more than you.
Well said
I was also considering balanced fund, but exactly everything u said here came to my mind. It is better to go with one & maximize the benefits.

Fubara is playing with fire. Is this the person APC leaders are begging for? An unrepentant ingrate that can never change. People have started pushing him again to act like a strong man, but when the problems come, he will chicken out. He wants to start what he can't finish. If you are following someone's playbook, know it can be altered at any point by that same person. Fubara is yet to learn his lesson, later he will start begging for peace. He’s so direct and a bit harsh especially on alts, but trust me, you’re less likely to lose money following him.
Truth is Benjamin cowen don't like alts
He has repeatedly said this on his channel, that he got burnt one time, ever since he detest alts. You can't lose money following a Bitcoinn maxi. Nobody lose money with Bitcoinn, growth maybe slow, but it is steady. But regardless, I'm very sure a couple of large caps alts are worthy to hold. If cryptto is going to be the future of finance, then alts have big role to play. Most stablecoin transactions run on major altcoins network.

I think a lot of cryptto investors always find it hard to accept the reality of bear market. I remember 2022, everyone kept saying the market will pump, it was during Russia/Ukraine war, the war will promote cryptto due to sanctions bla bla...Nothing happened till another bull started. The 4 years cycle remains valid, I doubt if anything can change it. Seems it has been programed like the amount of Bitcoinn that will ever exit. Because it runs on Bitcoinn model. But I think this bear may not be as devastating as previous ones because of dollar devaluation.
