This is even a good way to respond... In northern Nigeria, the church would have been burnt down years ago. The Mohammedians believe "worship is for Allah only" and it is their God-given lifelong duty to destroy, crush and exterminate any other forms of worship... No wonder they have problems with everyone, including other factions within their faith. ![]() |
Islam has always been unfair to women. They preach that we are all equal in the sight of God, yet their actions and body language act and believe the opposite. Here in Northern Nigeria where I live, women are only meant to be seen, not heard. There are second-class citizens; mere domestic animals with child-bearing, cooking and home-keeping capabilities. Girl children are usually sent to low-quality "Public Schools" where they are taught in Hausa, while the male children are sent to good school (mostly private) There seems to be a grand conspiracy by these lovers of Mohammed to keep women in a permanent state of unwilling subjugation, submission and disillusionment. All they seem to care about is the va.gina and not the woman who owns it.... Before the Mohammedians quote me, remember in your 'holy country" Saudi Arabia, women are neither allowed to drive cars nor vote in elections. What do you have to say to that, huh? |
favourelisha:Can't you put forward superior argument to the person you quoted without resorting to verbal abuses. He has made some valid points, it is only intellectual for you to respond to the points raised. Not heap tantrums and abuses on him. Please behave better next time. |

As a Nairaland converted Muslim, I call on all my brothers and sisters in Islam to embrace peace. Allah made us different from each other not to hate and kill each other, but to tolerate and learn from each other. @OP, alihamdulillah it is amazing how technology (mostly developed by the Westerners) have transformed the Holy Land. May Allah bless all Muslim Ummah, the Christians/Westerners, Jews and all people. May Allah continue to guide us to the true path. Ameen! Jumaat kareem. |
Anyone who sees this as news is a baby... Events like this have been happening since the time of the "prophet" Muhammad of islam. After his death, many of his followers fought themselves to the death in a quest to seize power conquer territories and become the "caliph" Islam has 4 factions with their respective interpretations of the Koran. No wonder they seem so confused. The only reason Islam seems united on the surface is because they feel they have a bigger enemy to fight. (other faiths) |
Those Hausa-Fulani men never speak up against unemployment, poor educational systems, poor governance, PHCN, corruption etc. They don't even care about their girl child... They are only concerned about vag.ina and how to consummate the youngest ones! |
The average Northern Hausa-Fulani Muslim man believes it is his right and destiny to dominate at all times! This heart-felt burning desire was expressed by all to see via the 1.9million Kano votes for GMB...a brother Northerners are taking this Aisha's common sense suggestion personal because of a fundamental Islamic belief by adherents that "Islam shall dominate the earth"... How are they supposed to mass-produce foot soldiers in their quest for world domination if they are denied unfettered access to the child-making machines (women). They are so much in a hurry that they don't if their girl child dies in childbirth, lacks an education to face life challenges, contracts diseases, etc. They have forgotten than our humanity comes first. As far as I am concerned, marrying your child off before 18 is not justifiable in a 21st century world. We cannot be using archaic doctrines of the 5th century to lead out lives today. |
Islam is a confused, archaic 4th century religion of coded that was foisted on mankind in a fraudulent manner... A big scam. Here are my reasons... 1. In Islam, Muslim men can marry Christian women or women of other faiths. But a man of another faith is forbidden from marrying a Muslim woman. 2. It is okay for Prophet Muhammad to have married and defiled 9year old Aisha; it is also okay for Yerima to have married 15year old Egyptian girl, yet shaking a female is totally wrong! 3. It is okay for ISIS, Al-shabab, Boko haram and their co-bandits to kill, main, rape, kidnap and rob people so long as it advances the Islamic cause. 4. For (3) above, many faithful (not all) will shout Allahu Akbar... One even tweeted "Pray for ISIS". They conspire to keep silent in the face of such heinous atrocities, yet they will protest, burn houses and kill "infidels" here in Nigeria cos of a cartoon of prophet Muhammad drawn in France. 5. In Saudi Arabia, women are neither allowed to drive cars nor vote. Yet Islamic preachers will say "we are all equal in the sight of God"... So much lies and deception. 6. In Muslim Northern Nigeria, the norm is to send the male children to good schools and the females to schools where they are taught in Hausa... Obviously to keep the females in a submissive subjugated disposition permanently. These guys only care about va.gina 7. Yes, they say men are not allowed to touch women, yet when the pregnant wife of a Sheik /Imam is sick and is the taken to a gynecologist (often male), the routine examination procedure includes sticking a finger or two into her vagina... Of course the Imam doesn't mind, his wife has to live. 8. Muslim religious leaders condemn and demonise the West/Europe... Yet they use the best cars money can buy, send their children to same America and Europe. Why is Buhari 's daughter not schooling in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Saudi Arabia? I can go on and on to 100... But let me drop my pen here... Last bullet: Any religion that conserves it's membership by threatening to kill those who leave the religion (eg as obtained in Islam) is nothing but a cult. |
AbuuUsaamah:The hypocrisy of Islam is, of the dozens of people who convert from one religion to the other yearly... If one comes into Islam, Muslims shout "Allah hu Akbar" or say "Alihamdulillah"... Fair enough. But the moment one converts from Islam to say Christianity, he/she will have him beheaded even if he is a family relative, this is particularly true in countries in which Islam is State Religion e.g. Iran, Sudan etc. The case of Meriam Yahaya of Sudan comes to mind... Any religion which threatens its members with death for conversion to other faiths is nothing but a cult. No matter how beautiful it looks on the surface. God gave everyone free will. But Islam is "wiser" than God and seeks to abolish all forms of human freedom, creativity, tolerance for others etc. The way Boko Haram, ISIS, Al-shabab etc goes about killing, maiming, kidnapping, stealing, raping etc simply shows what Islam's real intentions are - creating a global caliphate by any permissible form of aggression. I will start taking Muslims seriously when they become tolerant of others. |
Millions of Naija youths truly need jobs. #fact |
Two words to describe what Islam really stands for... 1. Capital of Pakistan - islam-a-BAD 2. Prophet of "peace" - Muhamm-MAD. Africa is the most Islamised continent in the world and also the most backward Continent. I ask is there a connection between Islam (as symbolised by ISIS, Al-shabab, Boko Horam, etc) and backwardness and underdevelopment? Your guess is a small good as mine... Even in the Asia subcontinent where Islam originated, some countries have rejected their medieval ideologies eg UAE. Three (3) countries in the world still harbour polio virus/disease - Pakistan, Afghanistan and Northern Nigeria. What do these countries have in common? For the good Muslims in the house, I'm sorry if I sounded harsh. I have seen, experienced and heard enough to believe that Muslims worldwide need to change their "kill all the infidels" ideologies, and learn to tolerate and accommodate those who worship God differently... I rest my case. Mods can ban me now... |

Wise words from one of Naija's many fine talents. Keep the fire burning Pastor. Change is coming to Naija. Only agents of darkness will be scared. |
efilefun:You say Islam is a religion of Peace and Saudi Arabia is the most peaceful country on earth. It is either you are totally ignorant or what you claim to believe or you are just being deceitful ... Let me remind you of a few things. 1. In Saudi Arabia, women are neither allowed to drive cars or vote in elections (implying they are second class citizens or mere domestic animals with child-making abilities). If they dare, they are imprisoned! 2. In Saudi Arabia, no church can or has ever been built. Even expatriate workers of other religions are not permitted to have places of worship. 3. Despite the above (2), mosques are found in many non-muslim countries such as Israel, USA, UK, Australia, Germany, Italy etc. 4. Any one who converts from Islam to any other religion is sentenced to death by beheading, (not even by firing squad or hanging). 5. In almost all countries of the world, Muslims are welcome to live and work, they are permitted to build mosques, Yet maximum Islamic countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia won't extend such show of love... 6. The biggest terrorist groups in the world today are Islamist - ISIS, AL-QAEDA, BOKO HARAM, AL-SHABAB, AL-NUSRA etc. They are all fighting, killing, stealing and kidnapping all in the name of spreading Islam by force... I will stop here and ask, why is Islam so intolerant of different views to life? Muslims have a lot of homework to do if they truly wanna convince me that Islam is Peace... cos at the moment, it appears Islam is War, rape, blood and death. |
Culture and religion has to be separated... We were first humans before we became Muslims, Christians, Hindus, etc |

On May 2014, the world was awakened to the news that authorities in North Sudan have condemned 27 year old pregnant woman, Meriam Yehya Ibrahim to death. This death sentence was not because she stole anything or killed her husband (like Wasila, the 14 year old Kano Nigeria child bride who killed her 34 year old husband with rat poison) or because she committed adultery (an action frowned upon by all known religious and traditional institutions). Her “crime” was that she allegedly converted from Islam to Christianity. Her marriage to a Christian husband was described as “adultery” because it was unrecognised under Sharia Law. This death sentence was passed by a scholarly judge of a Sharia Court. She was however given a “lifeline”…to convert back to Islam within two years of childbirth and nursing her baby or be killed. Her response: “I am a Christian and that’s all I can ever be”. Here is a woman being denied her basic fundamental human right to life for something as flimsy as her set of beliefs being different from mainstream. Her father was a Muslim married to her Christian mother, he however left the home when she was very young, and thus she was raised by her Christian mother. International outcry compelled the local authorities to free her; she had to leave the country after it was suggested that her life was in danger. In all honesty, this post is not about one religion versus the other. I’m only here to ask some pertinent questions from a humanist point of view. 1. Why was it okay for Meriam’s Muslim father to marry a Christian wife and the marriage approved by Sharia Law, but her marriage to a Christian man tagged “adultery”? 2. Why will any human in a 21st century world be sentenced to death by another person, group of persons or institution simply because of his or her beliefs, and some people see this as “justice”? Are we progressing in our evolution as humans or are we retrogressing to the dark/stone ages? 3. If God in His infinite wisdom gave man free-will to make choices, why would some individuals/institutions try to prove “wiser” than God and take judgement into their hands and begin passing death sentences in an attempt to “defend God’s interest”. 4. When will some people realize that if God wanted all of us to have one religion, He could do so single-handedly. He is all-powerful and all-knowing; He is not some cripple beggar who needs mere mortals to come to his aid every now and then. 5. Is it possible that a lot of people who may want to change their views in the future in the light of new information will be unable to do so because some established institutions will have them slaughtered with glee, while calling it “justice”. 6. When some people say “there is no compulsion in religion”, do they really mean it or are just paying lip service to appear “good” to the populace. Parting shot: I believe that at the core of religion is love; no matter what we do, no matter how pious or ‘beautiful on the surface’ such actions are, if it is devoid of love for our fellow humans, religion loses its soul and relevance. Mature comments welcome. I.am.Jaydee

With the recent developments (especially in the areas of institutionalized corruption, payable insecurity, ethnic/tribal tensions), I strongly believe Nigeria needs a president with strong moral fibre. For me Buhari fits that description. |
For the Nigeria of our dreams to emerge, Nigerians need to think out of the box and ignore all those elements seeking to divide us along ethno-religious lines. |
I believe GMB is a good man. If given the chance, he will begin the process of leading Nigeria out of the woods. However, here are some factors that will stop the General come 2015. 1. Nigeria and Nigerians are not truly ready for change, they prefer the status quo, because many of them are benefitting immensely from the many loopholes of the system. 2. Southerners don't like Buhari cos they believe he is an Islamic extremist/fundamentalist. This will make it difficult to win down south, just like in previous elections. 3. All the powerful people who have looted and ruined Nigeria are in PDP. They obviously want to enjoy their loot in peace without the interference of a no-nonsense Buhari. 4. A lot of people believe Buhari should step down and support a younger candidate who understands today's issues in Nigeria and not act like a desperate "old man" bent on seizing power by all means. Etc 5. PDP and their stomach infrastructure policy will see voters selling their votes to the highest bidder (PDP of course). 6. Nobody is yet to master the art of systematic rigging like PDP. They are masters of the game! 7. Buhari's poor past records especially in the area of human rights abuses as military head of state will haunt him |
I will convert to Islam the moment the religion becomes tolerant to others who are not members... |

Other residents quickly joined the bystander and grabbed the weak robbers, beating them up to a pulp.He said, “After the vehicle knocked them down while they were attempting to escape, we seized them and beat them to a pulp. The crowd grew larger and this attracted the attention of policemen.” Our correspondent learnt that a team of policemen from Ikotun Police Station stormedthe scene and attempted to rescue the robbers but were overwhelmed by the mob. It was learnt that policemen even fired gunshots into the air but the mob remained adamant. A woman, who runs a bar in the area, said another team of policemen also arrived from Area M, Idimu, but the mob set the robbers ablaze. . . . . . Why are Nigerians growing increasingly blood-thirsty. Another Aluu episode playing out here. By the way the recharge cards and money stolen got looted by the police! Smart thieves |
