Good evening, Everyone.

I aooloed for TRV in May 2025 and submitted my passport yesterday at VFS Abuja as instructed by the Canadian Authorities.

After dropping off, I got an email/SMS which said:
" The envelope for the decision on the results of your visa that has been processed has been received at the Canadian Visa Application Center at Lagos OC on the date. We will then send this to the Canadian Visa Application Center Lagos OC Your decision envelope will be returned to you via the courier service offered by the VAC. Collection of decision envelopes in-person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice. Please refer to the 'Buy Services' page of the VAC website for further information on courier services offered by the VAC"

My office is a few minutes walk from the VAC, so Courier is just a waste of resources in this instance. I told the VAC Staff when they asked if I wanted Courier and they smiled.

Pls what can I do?

Thanks alot.

I stand to be corrected but "Savings" here implies funds set aside (in a separate account for that purpose) different from the salary. What you have, suggests that from your monthly salary, you have unspent funds left over in your account monthly. To me, it looks like residual funds from stated income and not "Savings" since they still remain in your salary account. Consequently, you could put the 200k as the amount spent monthly in the finance section of the form and explain in the space for additional information (as well as a cover letter to be uploaded as supporting document) that the residual (unspent) portion of the monthly salary organically built up the account balance over time hence the opening balance as well as the closing balance.

I have had no problems with my previous successful visa applications explaining like suggested, as in my personal experience, my unspent portion of monthly salary obviously accummulates and in 6 months accrue to a sizable balance sufficient to satisfy financial requirements. since i dont tender any other bank account aside from the salary account and i dont indicate any "savings" since i technically dont have any.

My 2 cents!

Jolene474:
Thank you for your response, but I do not understand clearly.
I spend 200k from my First Bank monthly then leave the remaining 450k as savings there. It’s my salary account as well, right now it’s about 9M.
They asked if I have savings on the form.
I’m I going to enter the 9M as my savings and enter 650k as my monthly salary, is it correct? Kindly elucidate. Thank you.

TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by JayJay0211: 3:51pm On Nov 20, 2017
You should be fine if you connect from the same airport you arrive through. That is, arrive into Heathrow Airport and depart from Heathrow. However, if you have to depart from Gatwick Airport, for instance, then you would need a Transit Visa as they are in different locations.

Hello, everybody.

My husband and I wish to apply for the b1/b2 by August. Kindly assist with answers to the following questions:

1. Can we apply more than 6 months in advance of the trip? This is for adequate planning.

2. Will it matter to the VO that we are traveling without the kids? We plan to go to NYC now and on a later trip take the kids to Disney Orlando.

3. What is the latest interview slot available on a given day? 10 am?

Thank you.

Hello, everybody. My husband and I wish to apply for the b1/b2 by August. We have travel together - Schengen, UK, UAE. He's a public servant of 10 years and work with a Conglomerate for 2 years. We travel mostly without our 2 kids for now cos we use the trips to rekindle the passion and rediscover ourselves. Kindly assist with the following questions:

1. Can we apply more than 6 months in advance of the trip? For adequate planning.

2. Will it matter to the VO that we are traveling without the kids? We plan to go to NYC now and on a later trip take the kids to Disney Orlando.

3. What is the latest interview slot available on a given day? 10 am?

Thanks aplenty

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by JayJay0211: 9:32am On Apr 23, 2017
I think it might be viewed slightly less differently as dates of birth as key to people's identity verification.
If he is "lucky", the ECO might view this as an honest mistake. If not, he might need to go further by showing proof ( attaching birth certificate etc) to eliminate any doubts. My 2 cents!
ekpotek:
Include a cover note as part of the document you will submit with the application pointing the ECO to the mistake.

Glad to see that you are aware of your predicament!
JAMB Exams can't form a strong tie-easy to abandon. Honest advice is for you to wait till you have ties to naija-things that would ordinarily make you come back.

That is surprising. i figured the additional GBP55 meant the application would go to Walter Carrington instead which would be faster than Sheffield. My bad. Thanks alot Jagun009
jagun009:
I would say it's treated in Sheffield, because i submitted my visa application in Ikeja and was forwarded to Sheffield.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by JayJay0211: 9:11pm On Jan 27, 2017
Good evening everybody. Please confirm if Visa Applications through Ikeja Teleperformance still get considered in Nigeria and not Sheffield. I ask cos i saw a charge of 55 quid to use that centre. Thank you

Good evening, everybody. My mom's UK Visit Visa Application was rejected due to DIFFERENCE in Date of Birth. Her 2nd to the last passport had 10/11 instead of 11/10 (10th November instead of 11th October) while her other previous passports and the current passport have the 11th October date on them. The ECO called to interview her before the rejection to ask why she had 2 dates of birth and she told them she was unaware of the error on her expired passport and the ECO told her to get a covering letter from Immigration the next day to substantiate her claim of error. Immigration however told her they can only write when the error passport is returned and she submitted a sworn affidavit the next day instead attesting to the 11th October date as her true D of B and that the other date was an error of transposition. My dad's protocol personnel (when he was a Director in a Govt Agency) always filled forms for us to sign. Unfortunately, my mom didnt notice the error until it was mentioned on the rejection letter. Most unfortunately, she had an expired UK Visit Visa as well as an expired Chinese Visa on the error date of birth, which the rejection letter also pointed out. The Rejection Letter said UKVI was unable to ascertain her true identity as the reason for the rejection. Unfortunately, the D of B was an honest mistake as she has no incentive or motive to choose a different D of B now in her 60s. Please advise on what to do now. Thank you in anticipation.
