Cristiano Ronaldo has broken new ground in Champions League history after scoring against hapless Borussia Dortmund in Wednesday's group clash. 

Peter Bosz's men have been in pitiful form throughout their Group H campaign, and are already out of the running for a knockout spot. 

And their woes were compounded early on at the Bernabeu when Ronaldo hit home shortly after Borja Mayoral opened the scoring to make it 2-0 to the hosts. 

That goal meant that Ronaldo has scored in every single group game of the 2017-18 campaign, with a total of nine strikes so far. 

No other players had managed that feat previously since the Champions League adopted its group phase in 1992-3, marking yet another record for the Portugal star. 

Ronaldo's goals, however, have not quite sufficed to seal top spot in Group H for his team. 

Madrid went into their final game knowing they were guaranteed second place behind Tottenham and rested several stars against Dortmund - although ever-motivated Ronaldo was not among those left out.

The Ahmed Makarfi faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recently floored Ali Modu Sheriff at the Supreme Court- Hours after the Supreme Court ruling, the party is rushing up to catch up with preparations for the 2019 elections Just through with a leadership tussle that got the Supreme Court ruling in favour of the faction headed by Ahmed Makarfi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has now zoned its presidential candidacy to the north. This is aimed at countering the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) which has the president, Muhammadu Buhari from the north. The vice presidential slot is to be zoned to the southern part of the country. NAIJ.comlearnt that the zoning decision was reached as the party announced that its national convention would take place in October this year. Making the revelation in Minna, Niger state, the PDP chairman in Niger state, Alhaji Tanko Beji, reportedly said the decision was reached at a meeting to discuss the recent judgement of the Supreme Court. As a result of the preparation for the convention, each state branch of the party has been directed to submit 30 names. Beji advised ambitious members of the party to ensure they have the mandate of the people. “Anyone with ambition to seek political office should go to the people, the leadership will not allow imposition of candidates,”he reportedly said. NAIJ.com reported earlier that the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),Ahmed Makarfi, declared 'general amnesty' for its members involved in the leadership tussle that last for over one year. It was gathered that Makarfi made the announcement while fielding questions from journalists on whether the party would sanction the sacked national chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.
