The Chairman of the North West Zone of the All Progressives Congress, APC, also a former Minister of Youth Development during the last administration, Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir, has said that there will be no automatic ticket for President Muhammadu Buhari come 2019.

The ex-Minister said there will be contest and a level playing ground for all, and that due process will take its course.

He said the party’s rule was that every member will be giving a chance to contest in the primaries.

He said this while responding to questions from Sun if there will be vacancy in Aso Rock In 2019.

He said, “2017 that we are in now, there is no vacancy. There could be vacancy any moment, anytime either in 2019, 2020.

“In 2019 the vacancy that exists is that whether you like Buhari or not, whether he wants to run or not, there will be a contest.

“What I mean is that the APC as a party is not a draconian party. We will allow the due process to take its course in terms of whoever wants to contest for the presidency.

“I am not a soothe sayer, but I know that the rules and laws of the APC is that every member would be given chance.

“If you want to run for the presidency, you are welcome. When you say there is a vacancy it means there is nobody there.

“But for now in 2017, Buhari is the president of this country and by the present circumstances that we are, Professor Yemi Osinbajo is the Acting President and APC does not have inhibitions, this issue of giving automatic ticket to anybody. It is a party that allows democratic principles and norms to take its full course.

“How can you have automatic ticket? In any case the constitution of Nigeria and the electoral act do not allow automatic ticket.”

According to him, IPOB and Radio Biafra were ‘booby’ traps intentionally set for him so as to draw global attention to the secessionist agitations of the South East region.
The cleric said this while addressing his congregants at an open-air crusade held in Uke, Anambra state.
Ebube Muonso noted that despite the economic hardship the Igbos were subjugated to immediately after the war, they soared through and today became greater than their oppressors; stressing that one Igbo man is equivalent to 500 of his oppressors.
He encouraged his congregants to look inwards and seek to develop their potentials from within.

The Inspector General’s Intelligence Response Team led by ACP Abba Kyari has arrested one of the most wanted suspected kidnappers in Lagos.
Aba kyari who confirmed the arrest said that the suspect was arrested at his Magodo residence in Lagos.
According to a statement he was arrested at about Ipm Saturday in his bedroom, in Magodo.

He commended the force headquarters for mobilising the resources to go all out against the richest and most notorious kidnapper in the history of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, investigation revealed that the kidnapper popularly knowns as Evans cried like a baby as he was arrested like chicken.

Former Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, has warned that recent events in the country are pointing to the direction of another civil war.

According to the professor, hate speeches, ethnic and regional irredentism and intolerance were on the rise in the country.

He added that these indicate the seeming unwillingness of Nigerians to live together in peace.

Gambari said, “this nonsense must stop. It must stop because Nigeria cannot afford it.”

The former envoy, who is also the Chancellor of Kwara State University, KWASU, Malete, said during the fifth convocation of the eight-year-old institution.


Gambari said, “We can’t afford it because it is distractive.

“At a time when we seek to reposition our country for stronger national cohesion and economic resurgence, to play our destined role in Africa and the world, we do not need this distraction.

“Governments across the country need a peaceful political and security atmosphere that allows them to concentrate on delivering the promised dividends of democracy to the people.


“We can’t afford it because it is disruptive and dangerous. Divisive agitations and violent conduct, or call to violent conduct, can result in unexpected and undesirable consequences.

“The little fires starting to burn across the country must not be allowed to result in a conflagration from which none can escape.

“We can’t afford it because it hurts our image in the region, in Africa and around the world. What investor, donor or ally would confidently associate with a country under threat of disintegration, confusion or instability?

“None. If we are to leverage on our considerable economic potential and human capital, we have no choice but to demonstrate to the world that we are a viable destination and ally.

“Our size and diversity should therefore be taken as advantages that help us to build a great economy with huge political influences.

“I seize this opportunity to comment on recent developments in our country, which should be of concern to all well-meaning Nigerians.

“It worries me that some of our compatriots seem to have forgotten so soon the great prize we paid fighting the civil war; lives were lost, properties were destroyed and nation building was stunted.

“I appeal to our leaders, political, traditional, religious and business, to not only speak out against the negative developments, but also to take immediate positive action to bring an end to them. Otherwise, their actions could be interpreted as collusion with the forces of division and violence.”

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has told the current Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, that he “needs a new brain”, after he gave reasons why the President Muhammadu Buhari-Federal Government, is flouting court orders regarding some high-profile cases.
Featuring on Osasu Show, Mohammed said the government was flouting court orders in the interest of national security .
“Every government will balance national security with human rights; every country in the world. It is the level of the balancing.
“As a government, I will balance national security against human rights; and then I will take a decision. Because there is security, there is stability, that the courts also exist.
“What I am saying (is) that the court has ruled but the court does not have the entire picture when it comes to national security. I am a lawyer too, therefore I have utmost respect for the judiciary,” Mohammed had said.
Fani-Kayode has now taken to his Twitter account to fire back at the Minister, saying this is not a military regime.
He wrote: “The assertion that govt. has the right to disobey court orders on grounds of nat. security is dangerous and false. Lie M. needs a new brain.

Golfer Tiger Woods says alcohol was "not involved" in his arrest while driving in Florida early on Monday.
The player, who was charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI), blamed "an unexpected reaction to prescribed medication".
"I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions," he said.
Police released a mugshot of Woods, looking unshaven and unkempt, following his arrest in the town of Jupiter.
"I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications," he said.
"I didn't realise the mix of medications had affected me so strongly."
"I would like to apologise with all my heart to my family, friends and the fans. I expect more from myself too", he said.

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has vowed to end corruption in Nigeria in the next 12 months.
Magu made this promise during the official opening of the Ibadan Zonal office and stakeholders’ engagement session, held in Iyagaku, Ibadan on Thursday.
According to the anti-graft agency boss, despite the challenges being faced by the EFCC, the anti-corruption war had been very successful.
Magu told newsmen shortly after the event that, “The fight has just started and we will do it to the last. We will get them out, just give me 12 months, you will not see them again.”
The event was also attended by the Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, who was represented by one of the traditional rulers from Osun State, and other notable dignitaries.

A 14-year-old secondary school student, who allegedly defiled his neighbour’s seven-year-old daughter, is facing trial at an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.

The accused, who resides with his parents at 41, Odo Oba St., Bariga, Lagos, is being tried for defilement.

The accused, according to Police Prosecutor Raphael Donny, broke into the toilet where the underage girl was defecating and defiled her.

He said the accused committed the offence sometime in December 2016 at their tenement building.

“It was the cry of the girl that alerted the mother, who immediately rushed to the scene. When the mother saw blood stains on the child’s clothes, she shouted and efforts to apprehend the boy were unsuccessful as he ran away from the house. The case was reported at the police station while the boy was later sighted in Agege and arrested by the police,” Donny said.

The accused, however, denied the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, D. Abegunde, admitted the accused to a bail of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Abegunde, however, ordered that the accused should be remanded in the Boys Correctional Centre, Oregun in Ikeja until when the bail condition would be met.

Before adjourning the case until June 5, she directed that the case file should be duplicated and a copy sent to the State Director of Public Prosecutions for advice.

In December, a court in Versailles rejected Benzema's appeal to stop the trial and the affair has rumbled on since Benzema was first charged with conspiracy to blackmail back in November 2015.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo did not swear in the two Ministers Stephen Ocheni (Kogi) and Suleiman Hassan (Gombe) amid the Federal Executive Council (FEC) yesterday.
