TV/Movies / Love Is In D’air, LK4 Makes Up Koketso by jeffer1122: 10:49am On Jun 06, 2013

If I could help LK4 and Koki to deliver their message to those who don’t wish them the best it would be;”Haters go hang yourselves, we are together.”
Seriously these two Ruby lovebirds are showing too,too much and there is nothing they haven’t done while together. Since the lad announced his commitment to Koki,it looks like it’s only eviction that will stand in their way to set them apart.
In the morning the duo were cornered in the bedroom and LK4 was spotted applying make up to his Cinderella. This Clearly showed that their growing romance is in the honeymoon phase for now as they do almost everything together, they pray together, dance together, sleep together and even groom together.
These are the wonders of new love and it’s magic but the question is;How long will it last? These two are on the chopping block this week and it’s after Sunday that their destiny will be told.
Anyway, tomorrow has its own programme, the eviction worries are put aside and paradise enjoyed.
What can you say about this, Is LK4 faking around or he’s being real?

Celebrities / Actress Susan Peters Denies Gay Rumours…how Blogger Linda Ikeji Apologized 2 Her by jeffer1122: 12:06am On Jun 04, 2013

The rumour about how Nollywood actress Susan Peters may be gay was circulated by popular blogger Linda Ikeji and it went viral…fetching hurtful comments from her readers.

The actress spoke out in her recent interview,in which she confessed that Linda privately came to apologize to her,and tended out a public apology on her blog, but says she barely knows her and would not identify her out of a crowd…..Linda Ikeje’s sisters reportedly took to twitter and insulted her(Susan Peters) for lashing out on their sister on twitter,in a bid to save her image.

According to Susan, she was only trying to straighten things up and set the record straight trash the rumour once ad for all.

On why such a rumour would come up about her,she says she likes to dress like a tom boy and has since dressed that way also adding that the people who know her know that she has a soul mate.

She further adds that the private apology was hypocritical since she (linda)knew how wrong and cruel her sisters and readers had been and would have done a public apology first on discovering the truth, inorder to clear her name, before allowing things to get out of hand.

Health / One Out Of 100 Children’ll Develop Heart Disease’ by jeffer1122: 10:39pm On Jun 03, 2013

A Canada-based Nigerian adult congenital heart disease expert, Dr Enitan Majekodunmi, talks to WINIFRED OGBEBO on the practice of cardiology and the range of treatment available for children born with heart defects.

What are the different specialties of cardiology?

A cardiologist specializes in diseases affecting the heart and the blood vessels. So it’s not just the heart but also the blood vessels as well. There are lots of parts of cardiology that you can specialize in. So, even if you are a general cardiologist, you can pick a part of cardiology to specialize in. The heart works with electricity so the heart in its own way, has its own generator which generates electricity. Some people can have problem, with electricity in their hearts and those specialists who deal with that are called electro physiologists. We have people who deal with the arteries around the heart; the arteries that supply the heart itself. They are the conventional cardiologists. We have cardiologists who deal with imaging so they do take pictures of the heart with many different things. They can use echo machine, MRI machines, CT scanners and nuclear radiation machines to look at the lots of different ways that the heart works and the way the heart functions and its affected. There are cardiologists who specialize in able to support the heart. They look at hearts that are weak and hearts that are failing. They specialize in ways to try to keep the heart working. So we call them heart- failing specialists.

My particular specialty is called adult congenital heart disease. I deal with patients who have generally been born with a heart condition in childhood, who have usually had to have series of operations in childhood to deal with their heart condition and when they hit 18 and they become adults, then we take over their care and we look after them. It’s actually a very new specialty in cardiology because 30 years ago, patients who were born with heart disease didn’t survive. It’s only about 30 years ago that they started being able to operate on these children and were beginning to keep them alive. So 30 years ago, there were no adults really who survived childhood to become adults with diseases that they were born with unless they were very lucky and the diseases they had were very mild to begin with. But now, no matter how complex these children are in childhood, they are getting operation and they are all now growing up and becoming adults. Not only do they have the problems they had as a child, but they are getting the same problems as a normal adult get. So a new breed of cardiologist is now coming forward to look after these patients.

What predisposes a woman to give birth to a child with heart diseases?

There are a number of conditions that can predispose a woman to giving birth to a child with heart condition. One of them is rubella. It’s very important for women when they are pregnant to go for ante natal care and they should be checked for a lot of diseases that can be prevented; one of them being rubella.

Things like diabetics also predispose a woman to having a child with heart defect. A woman who has infection is also predisposed. To be honest, if a woman herself has congenital defect as well which she may or she may not know about, predisposes her to having a child with a heart defect as well.

In some developed countries like the UK and US, all pregnant women will get a scan when they are 20 weeks to look at the heart of the foetus; to see if its normal or abnormal. So in more than 90 per cent of cases, when a child has a congenital heart disease, they already know about it before the child is born. What that allows you to do is that it allows you to prepare. If you know that, when the child is born, you need to start on some certain medication so that the child can be well until he needs to have an operation.

When a woman is 38 weeks pregnant, there’s a plan in place until she delivers. Wherever hospital she goes, she’s placed on medication immediately the child is delivered and they can transfer the child to the cardiac centre where the operation will be done at a later stage. It could be two or three days later but at least, you know that the child is going to be well and stable until he comes to the cardiac centre.

In the general population alone, children with congenital heart defects are about one per cent of live births. So, one in every 100 women who deliver a child will give birth to a child with a heart condition. Luckily, most of those heart conditions are simple and do not usually cause the child a problem. There are

Celebrities / I Tell My Daughters Everything I Do;porn Star Afrocandy Confesses by jeffer1122: 5:08pm On May 25, 2013

The movie producer and soft porn star told Punch:

I may be their mother because I brought them into the world. I may have the privilege to raise them up to adult age. But you know, I cannot tell them what to do or follow at a certain age. Besides, they are Americans who have their own minds. If they graduate from college and decide to follow my footsteps, it’s their own calling. If I can predict, they wouldn’t want to do what I do because they have better opportunities and better futures than mine. All I do now is to secure a better future for them so they don’t have to go through what I went through in my life time. Mind you, I tell my daughters everything I do. I even told them about this project, the nature of it, but I could not show them because they are not up to 18 yet. I just had to prepare them in case they run into it on the Internet, they won’t be shocked. So don’t worry about my daughters, they are the best children any mother could ever ask for and I thank God for the gift.

Grace Onuoha, a model, actress, fashion designer and the current Miss Eko, tells ABIMBOLA OBATAYO about her career and how she copes as a student of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, NIJ

Grace Onuoha, Miss Eko

How was growing up like?

I will say it was quite challenging. I am not from a well-to-do family, so growing up, for me, was challenging.

Give us an insight into how you started your modelling career…

I started my modelling career in 2008, a day after my birthday precisely. I was just 17 years old then. I went with my sister for an audition because the previous day was my birthday, so she decided to take me out with her for the audition. We got there and I saw girls like me and I decided to take part. I was interviewed and then I was chosen. I didn’t even expect it because I went there for fun. So two days later, I was called upon that I have been chosen. I was asked to report to the camp that they were going to train us. That was how I began.

Which outfits/designers have you worked for?

I have modelled for Zizikado, Itien Bassy, Modela Couture, Mood Couture and for myself, Great Grace Collection. I have modelled for some designers whose names I can’t even remember.

Were you paid when you started modelling?

Yes, I was well paid. That was what encouraged me to go into it fully.

Did you really love modelling or was it circumstances that led you into it?

I have always wanted to be a top model right from when I was a kid. I think I was four years old when I said I wanted to be on TV, that I wanted to be a broadcaster, I wanted to be everything that has to do with broadcasting. While growing, I liked Genevieve and Agbani Darego, so I have always wanted to be a model.

Did your parents support your?

Yes, very much. They were really in support even before I started modelling; I had acted in some films. My first movie was done in my secondary school. The production team came to my school to pick people that will act and then I was chosen and I played the lead role in the movie. My parents really liked it because they knew that was what I wanted to do, even right from when I was young. I participated in a lot of church activities like drama and debates, so they already knew what I wanted to be. They have always been in support, they provide me with clothes and all that I need, even when I wanted to contest for Miss Majoss, I was about 7 years old then, but my parents provided all I needed, taught me what to say and how to say it. When I was in the secondary school, I contested again and won. So they have always been praying for me, showing me all their support.

How have you been able to combine education and modelling?

A former Nigerian national basketball player was shot dead in a botched burglary in Texas before Thanksgiving, it has been revealed.
According to the Dallas News, Onyeuku and another person allegedly tried to break into a residence on Rio Grande Street in Plano, Texas the night of November 21.
The homeowner told Plano police that he saw ‘multiple people’ approaching the house.
Onyeuku had played for the Nigerian team that qualified for this summer’s Olympic Games in London.

The two apparently entered the residence by breaking a glass patio door.
The homeowner shot Onyeuku, killing him instantly. His accomplice ran away without injury. Police are still trying to track the second burglar.
No one inside the home was injured in the burglary.
Upon their arrival, EMT workers pronounced him dead at the scene.
It is unclear why Onyeuku and his companion were trying to burglarize the residence.

“Wonders,” they say, “will never cease”. This was the scenario at the weekend at the Old Garage, Akure when a middle-aged woman was alleged to have used charm to take a boy’s joystick.

It was gathered that the victim, Adewale Akande, a graduate of College of Education, Oro, Kwara State gave the woman who begged him for alms, N50 but five minutes later, he discovered that he was having a feeling that his manhood had disappeared.

Apparently uncomfortable with the situation, the victim, in his mid-twenties, called a traffic officer around to help him arrest the woman whom he said begged him for alms.

When brought to the Police Area Command Station at Oyemekun Road, Akure, it was learnt that the suspect first denied having collected money from the victim. But after a thorough interrogation by the Police, she confessed that she received the money from Adewale.

Meanwhile, there was tension around the police station as Wale’s family members insisted that the case be transferred to the Deji’s Palace for traditional solution.

After six hours of apprehension, the victim was taken to an undisclosed hospital where he regained his manhood.
Narrating his ordeal to “DailyPost”, Akande said he came to Akure on Tuesday..

How do you feel as a new entrant into the world of production?
I can’t really explain how I feel because this a dream I have nurtured for so long and seeing it come to reality is just like a dream come true to me and perhaps the reception has been immeasurable considering the fact that it is my first major production as a producer.

What actually prompted your decision to turn producer over night?

I want to correct that impression of me turning into a producer over night simply because I have been in the industry for quite an age now and for me to produce a movie of my own is just to let the world understand the fact that even been an actress; I can as well turn out to be fantastic producer and.....

Politics / Casualties As Military Launch Air Strikes On Boko Haram Strongholds by jeffer1122: 3:13pm On May 17, 2013

Nigeria’s military on Friday attacked Boko Haram Islamist strongholds across the northeast, launching deadly air strikes on insurgent camps, the military said, while residents reported that forces had deployed in border areas to block the militants from fleeing.

everal thousand soldiers have spread across three northeastern states where President Goodluck Jonathan imposed a state of emergency after Boko Haram seized territory and declared war against the government.

“There have been air strikes since Wednesday,” defence spokesman Brigadier General Chris Olukolade told AFP, specifying that they were continuing Friday.

“Every one of their strongholds is under attack,” he said, adding that he believed “there are a lot of casualties,” without providing a figure.

The offensive is ongoing in all three states put under emergency decree, including Adamawa and Yobe, but Borno state is expected to see the most intense fighting.

Many have warned that there is a risk of high civilian deaths and Nigeria’s military has been accused of massive rights violations in the past, including indiscriminate attacks on civilians.

The operation is the largest against Boko Haram since 2009, when soldiers flooded Borno’s capital Maiduguri, killing more than 800 people and forcing the insurgents underground for a year.

Religion / Pope: Money Has To Serve, Not To Rule by jeffer1122: 3:05pm On May 17, 2013

Pope Francis issued a strong call for world financial reform on Thursday, condemning a heartless “dictatorship of the economy” and saying the economic crisis had made life worse for millions in rich and poor countries.

A gust of wind blows Pope Francis’ mantle as he leads the general audience at San Peter’s square yesterday.

“Money has to serve, not to rule,” he told ambassadors in the first major speech about finance since his election in March in which he also urged states to take greater control of their economies and protect the weakest.

The economic crisis had created fear and desperation, diminished joy of life and increased violence and poverty as more people struggled to get by in “undignified” ways, the pope said.

There was a “need for financial reform along ethical lines that would produce in its turn an economic reform to benefit everyone,” he added. “We have created new idols.

The worship of the golden calf of old has found a new and heartless image in the cult of money and the dictatorship of an economy which is faceless and lacking any truly humane goal,” he said.

The reference was to the Book of Exodus in the bible, when the Israelites worshipped a golden calf while Moses was at the top of Mount Sinai receiving the Ten Commandments.

While Francis’ predecessor Benedict also called for changes in economic systems, he did so in often dense intellectual language.

Francis seemed to be expressing very personal views forged from his experience with the poor in Latin America. Francis, who has said he wants the 1.2 billion-member Catholic Church to defend the poor and be more austere itself, urged more state control over economies.

Foreign Affairs / Revisiting The LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, And Transgender) Debate by jeffer1122: 7:04pm On May 11, 2013
The volume of responses generated by my last article entitled, “Gays and Lesbians, We Will Not Keep Quiet!” has put me under responsibility to write a sequel to address genuine concerns raised by some of my readers. First of all, I want to state that my position on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) matters is not based on dogmatic religion, popular culture or subjective morality. Rather, my stance is founded on the universal principles of conscience, common sense and character as supported by scientific and medical research. Against this background, I intend to address issues ranging from instances of homosexuality in animals to questions of individual liberty and challenges with heterosexual marriage as they affect the LGBT debate.

Incidence of homosexuality in animals is no basis for its expression in man. Unlike other members of the animal kingdom which are mainly creatures of instinct, Homo sapiens (man with intelligence) has an intellectual and a spiritual side to him. Man as an intellectual and spiritual being is expected to demonstrate a sense of good judgement beyond instinctive behaviour. Homosexuality is a primordial instinct of animality (the animal side of man as opposed to the intellectual and spiritual) which must be subjected to the higher principles of commonsense and conscience.

When the pictures/Video of her new x-rated movie surfaced , 41 year old mother of 2, Judith Opara Mazagwu aka Afro Candy made it clear she has no shame and doesn’t care about the haters.

In this interview conducted last month, she opens up on her life, what propelled to take on a music career, her plans to produce an all bad movie…and how she was molested and disvirgined at 19 years.
And yes guys…she is single and searching….lol

How did you come into the Nollywood industry?
I started acting in Nigerian movie since 2003 and most of my films then were very appreciated by the people, since I receive feedback in over 80 movies I have acted. Back in Nigeria, I could not do the daring moves I am undertaking here in America.

When did you come to America?
I migrated to the United States in 2005 with my ‘Green Card’ and was married like one year plus. And due to much envy, inferiority complex and insecurity of my former husband in Nigeria, we parted ways. But on arrival in America, life was so tough, very challenging as a mother of two. After a long while, I later took part in Hollywood films.

Are you not planning to re-marry?
I have not seen my right match since I am still in search of Mr. Right, who must be wealthy, I don’t care whether he is handsome or ugly.

How did you enter into music?
Oh, since my rent was almost expiring and I could no longer cope with the bills, since I was about to be evicted from my house; I looked at my children and I asked God for help. Then, I did not know there was something the American Government calls ‘Welfare’ for the United States citizens. It was then I knew that once you have your legal papers in America, the government can help you out of your financial predicament. Moreover, as a single mother of two children, it was indeed tough, but God showed up for me. When I slept, I heard myself sing in the dream. I told my children the kind of song I sang. And my eldest daughter advised me to record the song, since it could be a hit. In the course of making further enquiries, I met a guy who introduced me to the music producer of one of the largest record labels here in New Jersey. After he had listened to my plight and song, he told me that their record label could sign me on only if I use my feminine talent to change the brand of the song and made it sexy in all ramifications. He gave me a day to go write my new sexy lyrics and I told him in 30 minutes my new sexy song would be ready. That I delivered and the producer was very happy. That was when he gave me microphone for the first time in his studio. He said I don’t want you to be singing like a struggling mother, just ensure your song is very sexy.

Is it true that you are a sex symbol?
Right, I am a sex symbol.

Sports / Rooney Seeks United Exit by jeffer1122: 3:17pm On May 10, 2013

Manchester United fans are yet to come to terms with the shock retirement of their beloved manager Sir Alex Ferguson and there’s still another shocker, Wayne Rooney one of their top players is seeking for an exit from the club he has played for for nearly a decade.

It’s been reported that Rooney fondly referred to as ‘Wazza’ handed in his transfer request about a fortnight ago! It’s not clear whether the England international has lately felt out of place at Carrington but one thing for sure, there are certain things that have happened during the season that have left many wondering whether the 28-year-old still has a future at United. Notably, his exclusion from United’s Champions League return leg starting eleven at Old Trafford with Real Madrid raised eyebrows. Rooney has also had his strike role either given to 25-goal scorer V.Persie or Welbeck, he has also been dropped behind the main man something that has limited his scoring opportunities this term.

Celebrities / Prophet Chris - Knows Why Nollywood Actors Die by jeffer1122: 2:59pm On May 10, 2013

Prophet Chris Okafor is the General Overseer of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry.

Below is what he told Encomium magazine about the recent deaths in Nollywood.

“This year I gave a prophecy concerning the entertainment industry that there is going to be series of death, and they never asked me for a solution.

One problem is that they like to go to churches where they do paparazzi and the rest. They don’t want to come to the truth and that is why they are dying this way.

If they come to me, I will tell them the mystery why people are dying in Nollywood just like I’ve been able to tell Nigerians why electricity can’t be stable in Nigeria.

I know why they are dying. Let them come to me”.
