Maptrackapp has been a baby project of mine for a long time now. It's 5 years and over 40 million gps data generated, and about 10 vehicles recovered successfully. Thank God the incident reports have not been many. However small the success sounds, it's indicative that the solution has been working as designed i.e theft recovery confirmed. Real-time reporting on vehicular location confirmed. Vehicle location with accuracy confirmed. Several cases of police issues with our tracked vehicles were located. One time a theft occurred at midnight and failed; the vehicle was trapped at a police station 30km away from the owner and the owner was able to locate the vehicle the same day. Enough said, if you are an individual with fleets or just your personal vehicle or if you have fleets of vehicles, a ride sharing company or even a corporate company looking for how to consolidate vehicular monitoring for all your fleets, try maptrackapp. 99% of tracked vehicles stand a higher chance of recovery within 12 to 24 hour window; this has been proven without fail all the time. Increase your security awareness this year!

The blow picture is a typical example of a Honda ball joint sold in America. When you ask your mechanics if the ball joints he purchased in the market has the PIN locks, they will say no and that it's only a screw that they use to tighten it. The truth is the marketers importing these things are not doing it for you to use for long. So for your safety you must insist that the mechanic get you a fabricated pin lock to hold the screws in place when vibrations are happening. It's been proven times without number that ordinary car vibrations can loosen a tight screw nut. This I found out when my VW ball joint went off on a galloped street road because the screw had fallen out. So now every time I want to change the ball joint, my mechanic has been instructed to to get a turner to fabricate the pin lock before telling me he has finished the work.

CuriousCart:As a software consultant and as one who have consulted for a few banks, here is my answer. if you want to do usd transactions and you have a DOM account. 1: You can buy usd from aboki and deposit directly to your dom account. Your usd card can be processed anywhere that accepts usd transactions. 2: you can buy same USD from aboki that has the same bank as where your DOM account is, and he can make the transfer for you via intra bank transfer. So banks allow same bank transfer for usd. Especially Access bank. not advertising just saying. 3: if you want to use your naira account, most banks (gtb, access, providus etc) have a special master card that can allow you to to change from your naira to USD directly when paying a merchant that is processing usd transactions. and you can use that card for any transactions. Only caveat is that that there is a limit on how much you can spend monthly in usd and the rates are abit higher than the black market. its called a Platinum master card. You can even use it on most atms abroad to withdraw dollars from host country atms. I hope this helps. Good luck... |
Have you always wanted to start a logistics business in Nigeria? Here is how to do so and what things you should look out for. There are currently 3 types of these business one can do, and if you can cope with the stress you can do all three. The first is international to local logistics and vice versa, inter state logistics and intra state logistics. Am going to limit this post for logistics for inter state and intra state. For intra state logistics, you have to get at least one mode of transportation for your operation and outsource the rest that are not within your catchment area. For inter state you have to partner with travel companies and thier logistics arm so that you can get things done easily for all your customers. The following are the most crucial for your day to day activity, when you start. 1: Make the publicity know so that you can start getting calls and package drop requests from your friends and referrals. 2: Keep a record of all your customers both receiving customers and sending customers from the very first start. This customers will be the ones deciding on whether you succeed or not. 3: Use smart waybill systems like maptrackapp for your waybill generation, its free for smaller companies. These waybill will help you create a database of all your customers in one place. You can make use of these records to send notifications to your customers when you have a promotional campaign. 4: Get a tracking system for your delivery vehicles and always ensure that you can monitor the movements of your vehicles in realtime. 5: Before hiring a rider(s) for your operation, it is very crucial that you vet the rider and their guarantor and also get to meet the guarantor in person at their homes. The said guarantor must sign in your presence at your office premises so that they both know what they are entering into. If this happens then be sure the rider is going to behave very well working with you, if not do not hire. I had a situation one time the vendor owner hired two people on trust and both bikes ended up stolen. Only one was recovered because it had a tracker installed. 6: Keep inventory of your activity, both your expenditures and your incomes, this will show you how you are doing and you can quickly evaluate whether its worth it or now. 7: Know that a happy customer is one whose package was delivered within the set time you advised. So charge an insurance like fee incase there is mishap, you can refund the customer their money. Though this might not happen at all, its just a precaution. It will also prevent the had i known story. 8: Once you get to the heart of it, be ready to receive alot of calls from your customers especially if you are hauling food and perishable items. Every job comes with their own headaches. The smart waybill can also help you send automated updates to your customers when their package is on the move. 9: Repeat no 5 again. Its very vital for your survial and can save you alot of stress. 10: Get to know the current rate charts and the scale pricing where applicable. Do not agree to all types of items, especially contrabands, fragile items without proper package paddings. some people learn this the hard way. if any consolation you can sell packaging materials as part of your revenue generation. All business is a risk, not doing business is also a risk. You just have to understand your risks before you get started. I hope this post will help you get started. |

you need to show the error log to be sure that something is wrong. In the mean time, do the below if there are no error logs : Get the actual {sql} query text that is formed in your code and run that directly on the database and see if it works normally. If it doesn't work then the issue you are having is with the query string that you are sending to the database. Let us know if this works, you code is actually looking okay for a normal data connectivity statement. |
See below the result of the FigureToWords.py application.
|
So in my spare time, i dug up a script that I wrote in Javascript and made a Python version of It. This time I added a little twist to it. So the script converts numbers to words. For example : # eg. 1000 => one thousand. # eg. 4,500 => four thousand five hundred. # eg. 100,230 => one hundred thousand two hundred and thirty. # maximum amount supported 999 million, but you can extend it... Now the twist is, once the result comes out, there is a text to speech library that was added to it such that it will read out the result on the speaker of the system/Laptop. For those that want to see how it works, follow the below steps : install the text to speech library (this is the only dependency) pip install pyttsx3 To run the script python FigureToWords.py -i 10000 To run this without the voice part python FigureToWords.py -i 9031232 --novoice Let me know your comments below... Dear All, Based on the feedback that I have gotten so far, I have decided to organize a weekend training that will suite everyone. And also as one of the followers have rightly said, its not possible to learn programming in two weeks let alone a month, so my training time will be pushed to a period of TWO Months and with an additional mentor-ship period of one month. I promise to guide all my students with their work until they get it right and even after the training if you have any project that you will like to work on and you require guidance, I will make myself available to help you. I hope that someday I will be loud enough to get the attention of CEOs/HRs in various large and small companies/startups and recommend my best students to them for job placements in their organization. And also at the same time raise up the next generation of IT serial entrepreneurs in Nigeria. I know that within me, its time for me to give back to the society. A new training session will be fixed soon and if you are interested, please contact me on whatsapp so that i can add you to the whats app group for further notifications. Please note that this time around, it will be more beneficial, educational and more importantly affordable too. Details of the venue, date, course outline and price will be communicated at a later date. Thanks and Regards Jeff (ECardeX Tech Academy) 08137898903 |
huzee4real:Please contact me, its very affordable, i assure you. |
jento:You are right. that is why, all my students gets a two months mentorship period after the training. And also I have been programming for about 10 years now, so i will not beat about the bush, but will teach them what they need to know and will also show them practically how to work with the tools from start to finish. Thanks for the tip anyway, I really appreciate it. |
Made a Javascript calculator with my students... Find the image below.

ayangzy:Dear Fellow thinker, there are no secrets so to speak. First i have been programming for about 10 years now and I have been using python for about 5 years now. In my case I started very early in 2008 when i was still in school, so i think i can contribute to this thread. Now concerning the secret that you are looking for, i repeat there are no secrets. Just do what works for you. Most times we are meant to think that its the tools that we use, but on the contrary its the user using the tool. The tool responds to the instructions that you have given to it and also it works within its boundaries. So if there is any question that you should ask, its the boundaries of each tool and what tool to focus on when doing web, desktop or mobile either for games or for business applications or for even applications that you want to use personally (am being generic at this point). If I may advice you on what tool to use, i say use what you are comfortable in and what will serve for the audience that you are developing the application for. If you want to do a desktop application, you can try TKINTER or PYQT5, or even ELECTRON or NODEWEBKIT. If you want to do a web application, try out FLASK or BOTTLE framework first before trying a DJANGO. if you are interested in games then try PYGAMES. All these assumes that you already have a full knowledge of writing a python scripts in solving small problems with the language. Caveat: there are still so many tools and if you keep searching for which tool to use, you will not make any immediate progress. The rule of thumb remains, your audience will not ask you what tool you used, but will only be concerned with if the application is working as expected or not. Also try not to be program logic minded, but business minded. The world is changing and software is gradually taking over business operations. Haven said all that, If you will like to learn from a pro, I am conducting a training on Python Backend and Frontend(html5, Javascript, ECMA 6 & css3). Just in case you will require a little bit of hand holding, contact me. Good luck... Jeffrey 08137898903 (Call or Whatsapp) |
yomifowe:The Duration is two months. 1 month for Frontend programming and 1 month for Backend programming. Contact me to know the cost implication. Am pretty sure its something you can afford. I repeat, its really affordable... |
