Phones / Re: Telecoms Operators Groan As States Hike Charges by jekkyjedon: 10:48am On Dec 28, 2020 |
Its not about greed, every business man goes into business to make profit. Telecom operators are really trying to keep it together especially in this recession/pandemic. take a look at this, telecom operators pays other company to keep their BTS running 24/7 and to make the downtime reduce to the minimal. They pay huawei to make sure the transmission end of the BTS is up and running(Active issues) also they have to buy diesel to run their diesel generator(DG) telecom operators pays IHS to supply diesel on regular bases to almost all their sites and to maintain and repair the generators other companies also take care of these kind of things like mantrac and mikano(passive issues) lets talk about land the telecos also have to pay rent for their BTS on a yearly basis and we all know how land issues are in Nigeria. lets talk about vandelization, hoodlums breaks into the BTS sites to steal and destroy equipment in the site these equipments are expensive(in millions) most times hoodlums steals the backup batteries and sell them in the market, all these stolen equipment needs to be replaced by the telcos if not the BTS wont operate to the maximum level. Above all this telcos need to pay their staffs and also pay their tax. So please lets not talk about greed here the telecom operators are really trying. Dpharisee: 2 Likes |
