Thanks a lot for your response ...but I think I didn't communicate my question clearly.. So I did not do upfront medicals actually.... In May, I booked a date for medicals for 16th July 2021........... The request from IRCC dropped on 28th June 2021 so I just waited for the date I already booked and went for the medicals with the form IRCC sent.... After the test, the hospital gave me the Emedical information sheet......So do I still need to send it to IRCC or the hospital will send my results Winner0718: Congratulations on your MER request Qlife will update IRCC on your Medical status, However you are to send the Emedical slip to update IRCC that you did upfront medical via webform.
Congratulations on your PPR in advance. |

I received a medical request from IRCC and I've done the medicals...I used Qlife and they gave me a sheet called Emedical information sheet.......Please is there any action required from my end i.e. Am I supposed to send this Emedical information sheet to IRCC??... or the hospital will send my results directly?
I'm asking because I did the medicals two days ago and no update has been made to my application. 30 days given to me expires in 10 days time.
Please help |

ILoveDLord: It was approved in two months, after I submitted her application.
I applied for open work permit for my spouse and visitor visa for my child. My family stated lived with me here in Canada while I was studying
I am already done with my studies for a long time now. I got my 3 year post graduation work permit and my wife also got another open work permit for 3yrs. We both have job offers. It only took about 3months after my studies before I got a professional job.
So we are already living in Canada. We have provincial nomination for Permanent residency and we looking forward to Citizenship in the nearest future.
Hope this helps.
I wish you guys all the best! You can always ask me your questions.
Canada is definitely worth it.
Let me justI drop my pen peacefully ✍ ... for now while
enjoying the beautiful view of summer from my office...
Praying for everyone, it will surely end in praise! Wow...Two months is really fast for a sowp applied from outside canada... Please what year was this? As in what year did you submit her sowp application. |

Lastly I would like to thank myself. For the perseverance, for painstakingly reading through previous threads just to get a good idea of the whole process, for convincing myself that my age (37) is not a factor, for writing a stellar SOP (though it took weeks, lol) and for “noogling” (using the searchbox in Nairaland) when I was totally lost.
Truly, it has ended in praise.

Lifeis247: Update:
Application submitted 9th May with upfront medicals and IELTS. Biometrics 10th May. Since then, no further update whatsoever, just silence. I was just reading up on how to request for GCMS note this week. Then, checked my profile this morning to see Medicals updated to pass 28th June and the Original Passport Request and Correspondence letter dropped in my profile this morning (29th June).
I must thank @Lekiboboe especially for looking at my SOP twice. God Bless you man!. Thanks to everyone supporting this platform with helpful tips and guides.
Also; I want to confirm if a single dose of the vaccine qualifies one for quarantine waiver or one must complete both jabs before a waiver is possible? Congratulations.... how many days were you given to submit your passport |

ozycy: You will need the notarized form if your husband is not with you in U.S. He will have to take the form to the embassy and after which he will send the form to you through courier. If he's with you in U.S, there won't be any need for that Thank you so much |
Travel › Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Jenge: 12:02pm On Jul 16, 2018 |
Aibisoye0: Is your husband witnessing and staying a while after the birth of your child? If yes. Then you don't need it as he will be there when you do documentations for your child. Eg passport.
However, if your husband is not coming due to work, funds etc, he can NOTORIZE the DS3053 form at the us embassy for free. All he needs to do is to book an appointment around the time of your scheduled CS or VBAC. For CS you know the date so it's fixed. For VBAC you might want to book a week after EDD or book like two appointments with the embassy a week apart.
See link to book notorization at the embassy below. Remember to select "Request notarial and other services not listed above." Fill in his details and you're good to go.
Link to form- https://www.google.com.ng/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://eforms.state.gov/Forms/ds3053.PDF&ved=2ahUKEwjeofOOoKDcAhWqAsAKHYsEBcsQFjAAegQIBBAB&usg=AOvVaw3TluFl80TUMs0OJGHjG9w2
Link to appointment- https://ng.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/local-resources-of-u-s-citizens/notaries-public/
Once he's done there is DHL at the car park he can send it for 18,500 Naira for you to the US or use UPS and send for 18,000 Naira.
Hope this helps Thank you so much..pls I still have a few questions 1) The passport you’re referring to is the US passport right?? 2) My husband is not coming with me So it means my he has to notarise the form before I can get the US passport for the LO.... 3) Can I do only US passport for the LO...then do the Nigerian passport when I return? 4) If I do only US passport for the LO,,,means I have to get Nigerian visa on arrival at Lagos airport ie after applying online and all that.. |

Adedoyin2108: Good afternoon ladies
Baby girl arrived on the 3rd of January 2018 at Houston Northwest Medical Center through vaginal delivery. Breakdown of cost: Dr Xydas: 2000 Hospital: 2000 Induction: 200* Stress test: 200* Epidural: 650* Hospital peadiatrician: 675 (the normal fee is much higher, this is the The Healthy Baby Package rate) Pathology: 97 (after discount) Peadiatrician(after discharge): 75 Birth certificate: 75 (plus delivery charge) Passport: 160 (expedited) Visa on arrival 190 *these are optional
I got baby's birth certificate 18 days after birth, 22/1; it was delayed cos of the adverse weather. It's 23 per copy but I paid 75 because I ordered it online (http://houstontx.gov/health/BirthCert/) and it was delivered to me next business day. To save time, I booked my appointment at the passport agency while waiting for the birth certificate. I booked two appointments actually, with different email addresses just in case [(https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/apply-renew-passport/hurry.html) (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/apply-renew-passport/apply-in-person.html)] When booking the appointment, it's important to indicate that you need the passport same day in order to obtain a visa. After I got the birth certificate, I went for the passport interview the next day, 23/1. My husband wasn't present for the interview, but he was around for the baby's birth so we notarised in the US. If your husband isn't coming to the US, it's best to notarise the document at the US embassy before travelling to the US, notarising at a Nigerian notary public is no longer accepted. I got the US passport same day and sent the email for visa on arrival that night, got approval on Thursday 25/1 (https://immigration.gov.ng/visa-on-arrival/) and travelled on Monday 29/1 via Lufthansa. I had called Lufthansa customer care a day earlier to book a bassinet seat. I got to Lagos on the 30th, straight to visa on arrival office, presented the approval and other docs, filled a form, paid the fee and baby was stamped in for a month.
NB: Got the Social security number in less than 2 weeks
Thanks to everyone for sharing info on this thread, God bless you all mightily!. To God be the glory! Hello Adedoyin, Learnt a lot from your post and I’m using Dr Xydas as well...I’ve gone through most pages on this thread and I’m still confused on how to to obtain baby’s documents and all that...I keep seeing different things... Hello house, New to this thread and I’m a first time mom so I need serious help from everyone here. 1) Please someone help with a doctor or hospital in Dallas where I can have my baby. Cheapest one pls
2) I don’t have a visa so i’m applying for one. From what i’ve read here, it seems it’s better I land at JFK then take a local flight to Dfw..Now my question is; on the visa application form, ill have to state it there that I’m going to dfw since that’s where the hospital is right... so what can I state as my reason for stopping at jfk first? |

This is quite funny I must say. We were over forty who attended the career session majority of whom are on this thread. I think the only person who tried to answer should be commended and not vilified.
It's not even like we've gotten offer letters. As far as I'm concerned, I'm even expecting my regret mail so we aren't really different.
Anyway, I'll tell you how it all went. The day started with the usual verification after which we went for breakfast- yes, we had breakfast. Shortly afterwards, the career session started. It basically centered on telling us about airtel, it's operations, the graduate trainee program, how long it's going to take, what working with airtel is and all that.
Afterwards, we went for interviews. My interview wasn't really the best, I started well and ended badly. You forgot to add we also had another seminar on making good use of an opportuinity while interviews were goin on...and we had lunch after interview den dey gave us gift packs to take home...d gift pack contained a cup flask,,,face cap, air freshner, biro, band and a veeeery big umbrella ......then my interview was quite rily brief and straight forward....expected smtn more....candidates successful at this stage will go for a second interview and d final selection will be made....resumption is july 15th |
