TravelRe: Why Do Nigerians Back Home Hate On Nigerians Living Abroad Especially In The US by jenns(m): 8:14pm On Jan 15, 2015
Hello Respected & matured minds...I have so much respect for all the comment made on this particular thread that I couldn't sleep overrnight but ponder much on this issue.

I observe that we castigate Nigeria much than we respect it . I am not saying things are not bad but the way we discribe it looks so bad that if I were to be a foreigner, I wudn't iinvest in the country .
Fine, instead of pointing out ways & solution to the problem, we prefer telling the Bahama dude all sort of negative thing .

That shows that we has are not helping to develop the country in our own little way if we could give reasons not to come visit nigeria because a penny from him adds to our national income.
I believe we also enjoy some basic ammenities eg cheap call tarrif just to mention, compared to some countries.

Please my message might not be constructive enough because I had to rush this lines but try to fix it together.
#OneNigeria#OneNation#OnePeople#GreatNairaland# plss...I hate Politics with passion , so understand motive.

There's no big deal with the PoE. Just have your passport and I-20. Have your other documents in your carry-on just in case you're asked..rarely happens though. Don't check them in with your baggage! There's no procedure..just answer whatever is asked without any unnecessary explanation unless warranted. If you decide to carry cash with you, carry less than $10k or you have to declare it. Just have a few bucks with you in case you need to pay for taxi, food etc. right after landing.

For the arrival date, anything less than 30 days to the date indicated on your I-20 is fine..just tell them why-maybe you want to get settled own before the semester starts. But only tell them if they ask you.
#thanks bro.

Forget about any cheapest flight.

Jan 9 is just next 7 days, defer, get extension if necessary or jump on board soonest.
Same advice here..#defer bro

There's one thing you guys don't know about the visa interview process. You think telling them you're returning to Nigeria gets you the visa? You think they don't know that YOU ARE NOT COMING BACK to Nigeria even if you prove you are? You think they don't have the statistics of those who actually returned after their studies yet they open their office everyday and keep doling out visas?

If you still don't know this by now, you need to. Once you sound smart/speak intelligently/are intelligent (with good grades) at the interview, the VO will definitely grant you your visa, because you have potential to contribute positively to their economy. Why shouldn't they grant you your visa? On the other hand, if you're not so smart, well...that's when all that hurdle about ties to your home country becomes more apparent.

@McFarlin...the reasons I mentioned, in the first place, are more of personal reasons to gravitate towards a state of one's choice. You would always want to go to the area/state with the best options for your line of career. You don't necessarily have to mention the reasons at the interview if you don't want to.
Good talk bro... ONE NEEDs TO BE EXTREMELY SMART & INTELLIGENT during visa interviews.

Do not get complicated, just state that you have defered admission.
But only one week is very little time to get visa and ticket organised!
You may have to get your school to defere admission untill autumn.
Do not try travelling after the joining date that your school gave you, it risks rejection at P.O.E.
He might be sound financially, so let him go for the interview.. If he's approved, he could get his visa after 4 days maximum.

Hi I'm new here... and I have So many questions
I applied for a student visa and my interview would be on Wednesday tho my school would be rresuming on Friday.. wanted to know What to tell the come I'd he asked Why I applied late for my visa Cause I have no reason..But the school wrote them a letter saying They give me a week for resumption...
It's no big deal since your school has given you an extension of resumption date letter, & also you could cook up some stories just to fill in the blank.
