Hello All the Gurus in the House!!!!

This question is specifically directed to the Gurus Abroad. Please what means do you think is the cheapest to make calls from USA to Nigeria. (Note: My family do not have access to good internet connection in Nigeria). I have been surfing the internet and I came across calleasy, nonoh, google voice, viber, skype, rebtel but I will like to hear from the gurus.

Secondly, is it better to change Naira to Dollar before travelling at the Bank or the Black market? If the former is the best please what are the processes involved? I am currently debating this issue with my parents.

Yea,i would advice you to change naira to dollar before coming, and also, never do as if you came here with alot of cash cos boiz here will try to take advantage of you big time.
When you get here try buying a LYCAMOBILE SIM, It is cheap and reasonable, 23$ or 10$ subscription according to your pocket. I buy international calling card online.
try checking callingmart.com All you need to know about networks and international caling cards are explained better.

Feels good to check back on this forum that God used to grant me my visa. Special thanks to all the guru's in the house with advice and courage to go face the VO back then.
I have been anxious to check on the guys granted visa and those delayed(delay is not denial) but school work no gimmie chance. Well, i have had my own BitterSweet experience within the 2 month i got here but if there's one thing i can assure guys coming here, SERVE GOD DILIGENTLY and BE SMART. I came here with absolutely $200 usd but now, am living averagely good with the help of GOD and the redeemed christian family. It pays to serve God.
Please where is coodboy and innovativeme, need your contacts , we need to roll.
P.S My sis just got granted this morning at the Lagos Embassy, i hope she comes to share her transcript soon, i can't speak for her right now. I only got a message from her this morning. EVEN IF YOUR PASSPORT NA VIRGIN, E NO MEAN ANYTING, I AND MY SIS NEVER EVEN REACH MURITALA MUHAMMED AIRPORT BEFORE.

You must have transferred you Sevis details from the old number to the new number. If that's the case, the old I-20 is irrelevant. However, you could keep it separate from the other docs in your hand bag so you could reach it anytime you need to make a reference probably @ the POE.

you've got a pm

All u need is the white paper given to you at 5he embassy for pickup. It's your image on the passport and the visa. You don't need anything sir except the pickup letter.

I need an urgent answer guru's in the house .

I deferred my Spring admission to Summer but I couldn't get the i20 on time due to a family friend bad belle in failing to send it on time ,which he has finally sent it on Tuesday. but my fear now is , I have mailed the admission officer to defer to fall but my dad insist I travel this summer since my i20 is available .

what are the consequences of travelling now since I had earlier deferred the admission or am I go to go since my summer registration is still on.

Why is that some folks don't read previous pages before asking some kind of questions? Is it really laziness? I'm sure if this forum is a place to pick dollars, lots of new members will go deep down to source for information.

that's just the "TRUTH" , it pays to read through from Part3->Part5 . My subscription suffered for it ,but i came out with a "NEW SONG".

Pls I need help on very cheap universities in us

Dude please for God sake, make use of google to find out any information you need to know ,stop expecting guys here to help you out with everything,Proper intensive research is the spirit behind the VISA section.

I was 25 , finished high school 2009 & still got my visa approved last december. All you need is "GOD", be "SMART" and "LEARN" from others.

Probability of getting a visa with a #Community College# is -0.5%.

Am a graduate of Physic Electronics form FUTA with a CGPA of 3.31 but I got an admission to study Physics Engineering at Undergraduate in a University at Tulsa Oklahoma, but I intend going to study Nursing because ii need to hustle and help my family at home.
Please what are my chances of pursuing a nursing degree and also, do I inform the school to transfer my course ? Or I should study nursing as a part time program.

Hello house!
Good to see everyone's making progress. Some of us will be graduating this spring. Thank God for the journey so far.
Some of us came to this country not knowing or having anybody here but we thank God for the success we've achieved so far. It has all been a wonderful experience.
I school in New York, the Big Apple! Lol. My people, NY no be joke o. Just like someone said in some other posts here, NY is fu**king over hyped. I wonder what the craze is all about of this NY self. A lot is wrong with this over celebrated state. Anyways that'll be for another day.
I'm just here to encourage those of you that are finding it difficult to survive in this country. Tuition palava, job wahala, accommodation, GA, among others. Please and please, try to find a way to stay as a student and complete your education. The benefits you'll enjoy while still a student and after graduation are way superior than going out of status for the sake of struggling & scouting for recidency papers. I'm a witness, son! I have friends who came here, abandoned school and went out of status with the mind of trying to get recidency papers. It has not been easy and rosy at all for them. So please, don't go out of status.
And another thing is, please don't forget God in this distractive country. Pray, pray & pray. Never forget those teachings your parent used to give you back in Naija.
For me, I'll be graduating this spring. I came studying in fall '13, got a GA that same semester. Got a scholarship plus another GA in the following semester. Got hired as an intern in NYC. Drive a very good car Lol. All these, as a student. Although at first, it was not that easy but God made it all easy along the line.
Don't be deceived, even the Americans are not smiling. There are also beggers here. Most of them don't even go to school (college). They are mostly high school graduates.
So count yourself as been lucky to be here studying in the first place, because even the Americans will like and envy you when they know you came all the way here to study.
And as for papers/kpali/GC, bro, that one name small thing. Just put your trust in God and finish your school, there are many legit ways of crossing that bridge.

For the new arrivals, I say welcome to the land of opportunities.
I hail the veterans in the house as well. God's favor for us all.
Thankx bro...May God help us.

Hi everybody, a friend of mine got her visa approved on Monday last week and was asked to pick up her passport on Thursday. She got there but was told her passport is still with the consulate. She's been calling and checking online, but the status remains "Your passport is still with the US Embassy/Consulate". Another website says "Administrative hold". The call center guys are not revealing any information as to what the issue is. I will like to know if she can walk into the consulate to speak with someone directly. If this is possible, what does she need to do to be able to walk in?

My post is somehow "weird" but after reading "exxy" wahala, me sef go explain what my fwend is going through.
Please my sentences might be disjointed but try to read btw the lines.(( I dey the company wey I wan write test for one job#No vex oga's))
30% of guyz that comes to this forum to ask information about how to obtain a student visa to obamaland to study also have the same plans of getting to US, then falling out of status or hustling to get Green card.((Fact gotten from random people))
Here's the story....
He(John) met a lady(Juliet) here on this forum when she came here asking for help on how to get a student visa & she was eventually granted.
They travelled together & juliet sheltered him for a year, but he later found out that her true intention was to go over, hustle & get married just for the Green Card which she eventually worked out for her .
Romeo happens to be a "cute dude" cos he always had luck with ladies anywhere he goes even back then in NYSC days .
My padi is now in love with a good 9ja gurl but the other lady is threatning to set him up maybe through drugs or any means if he eventually dates any girl and his scared of deportation .
Am so worried cos I intend staying with him pending the time I rent my own apartment cos am not that financially bouyant .

Please do I defer my admission cos am also not financially good & please what the best advice for my friend cos he's living like a prisoner right now.
Akanta sef get conscience pass Nigerians for yankee#Obamaland dun collect our 9ja culture/SAD MODE

I would answer any questions later.
