Chief tarry a while and dont be in a hurry

when you want to go into the market for medium - long term you just dont dive into the pool in one swoop, instead you go in bit by bit.

have a time spread for going in (say a week / two or month)

have a price range for the stock you want to buy (say btw 1-1.50)

then you execute above with clear diligence and discipline.

that would make a more meaningful entry than a dive.

my two cents

Sometimes the joy of owning a security can be overwhelming. grin When you click the buy button and get X-Alert messages. I will be patient sire smiley

For good dividend yield and rest of mind. Kindly go for:

UCAP @ 13.50, NAHCO @ 15.

Banking stocks like GTB, Access and UBA are also good in dividend payments. This banks have been growing their dividend rapidly over the years notwithstanding the market volatility. But if you don't like watching your stock going down anyhow, you can stay away from them.

It looks like I am going to go in at 14 NGN, can't find any offer below 14, is N14 a fair price for UCAP?

United Capital PLC seems like it since it's the second recommendation I am getting. Thanks.

The market is already up and making a recommendation at this point in time could be productive and or counterproductive. The market could continue on it's upward movement or we could see the bear taking over, nobody could tell. So caution must be exercised.
A dividend yield of 10% should be ok in this present market though it is advisable you buy in tranches.
Check out zenith Bank and ucap for consideration.

Many thanks!!!

What percentage dividend yield are you hoping for

I don't have a specific figure in mind, as I wouldn't want a very high paying dividend stock that may not be suitable for holding in the medium to long term. Instead, I am looking for a stock that strikes a balance of providing a great dividend return while also being equally good for long-term investment

If you are comfortable with dividend that is less than 3% from MTN, then you can go and grab your cake.

So what are you recommending?

Care to recommend a great dividend-paying stock for a medium to long-term hold?
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Jenny008: 10:10pm On Jul 31, 2023
Appreciate what you guys do here, all the information is really helpful.

Please can anyone recommend a great dividend-paying stock for me to purchase, I am looking at also holding long-term. Is MTN? a good buy for long-term and do they pay great dividends?

I am already holding ZENITHBANK.

I'd like to diversify huge into 2-3 NSE stocks with principal interest on stocks with high and consistent dividend payout.

I'm not so particular about high risk stocks with huge potential price appreciation short term, I prefer a good dividend paying coy stock that I can hold for the next 5 years with great potential long term.

Here's my pick based on the insights gleaned after reading some posts here:

GTCO
Access
Stanbic
Dangote Sugar

Are these the best stock based on the metric I seek?

Please OGs in the house, help recommend

Personally, I'm a person who really cares about what others say about me after all money as they say can not buy good name(reputation) and even after death people tends to remember and describe us with our deeds and name called while alive. To the question I posed up there, I can not face any kind of blackmail. Though I've always tried to be cautious about what I do, say, and even with the kind of man to date. That's why I'm hooked with one man throughout my life. I hate scandal. If I'm blackmailed then there are 2 options, either I die or the blackmailer die.

If you're holding UBA, ZENITH or ACCESS, do NOT fuckin' sell. There's still room for growth.

Just a quick lazy question, what's the procedure to claim my Access Bank Dividend with Morgan Capital?
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Jenny008: 1:51pm On Jun 03, 2020
Mcy56:

It means trading by yourself if you have enough chance to do it.
It aids faster execution, you can buy and sell by yourself.
Morgan is faster and preferable brokerage firm when it comes to this.

Thanks so much.

Morgan.
Go and Google "day trading".
You may want to redefine your designation. If you are ok, no problem.
Even at that, use money you can lose without telling us here... grin

Yeah, thanks for the caution. I know the risk involved.

1. Yes. You can have 2 brokerage account.
** You must however inform the new broker that you have existing CHN number which will be used to open account for you.
** Account name for both must be the same.

2. There are few brokers with low commissions. I can only mention the ones I know .......Morgan Capital and Greenwich Mytradebook.
** If you're chanced, you may opt to be trading by yourself.

Thank you, I really appreciate it that you're helping the newbies like me on here.

What do you really mean by if I am chanced, I may opt to be trading for myself? will this option aid fast mandate execution?. I will fancy this considering I want to dabble into day trading.

Also, with fast trading/ease of trading as the key decision factor, which brokerage is most preferred between Morgan Capital and Greenwich Mytradebook?

Can I have 2 stock brokerage account without transferring my existing shares from my current stockbroker account? And if this is possible, can anyone recommend a broker best suitable in handling day trading with low commissions/fees?
