There are vacancies for Mechanical and Engineering Hnd and Bsc Graduates at Olutemcon Associates Limited Suite 142B Royal Exchange Plaza, Charity Bus stop, Oshodi, Airport Road, Lagos. Kindly drop your CV in hard copy at the above address. Best of luck. |
Hey Ganza, I really do feel you. I totally agree with you on all your points. Most of these firms are out to enslave the junior counsel. The trick is to heap insults on the person in order to destroy their self confidence and impose a state of lack of self confidence. There are a few good law firms around (in Lagos that is). The truth is they all have the same mentality. So my brother, my advice to you is to keep on striving. I also commend your guts at registering your own law firm with CAC. I would further advise that you open a Bank Account for the firm. Most clients would prefer to pay into the account rather than a personal account. For the rest of us wigs lets keep the flag flying. We will surely get there someday. cheers, Jericho |
Misterman, The law as relates to employer-employee relationship is that the court will not force an employee on an unwilling employer. Concerning your questions: 1. An employer has the right and discretion to determine the mode of interviewing his employee prior to his employment provided however such interview is not illegal, immoral or against public policy. So the question of contesting the written test goes to no issue. 2. The non production of a medical certificate. I really do not understand the import of the question but if you mean to say that what are your chances in court despite the fact that you did not produce a medical certificate. The answer is nil. Production of a medical certificate is a prerequisite and sine qua non with your placement. A perusal of the letter of offer indicates that ALL the conditions must be met. So non production of medical certificate is a ground for disqualification. 3. Under Labour law, an employer is not obligated to give his employee work to do. The fact that you are working hard does not mean that there is vacancy. The question is what are your working hard at? are you working hard at your job schedule?. The onus does not lie on you to prove that there is vacancy because even if you do the state Government is not under any obligation to employ you to fill that vacancy. Hope i have answered your queries. cheers. Jericho |
