Why trying to oust a man from a farm he had plowed, planted and nurtured because you feel his present wife would inherit his wealth upon his demise.
If he was smart enough to set up the company you neanderthals are ready to kill yourself over, doesn't it make common sense that his choice for a wife shouldn't be in question especially by numbskulls like you trying to reap from where you hadn't sown.
Useless yahoo yahoo children wey no get head. You sound so ignorant. At 65, the man should have retired from his own business and put a responsible person as his replacement. But African men don't like leaving power. At 80 years, a man is very susceptible to manipulation. Trust me, I have seen how men destroy their own companies because of their old age and diminished reasoning. What western men do is that they share their estates through trust funds and other legal avenues when they reach retirement age. For you information, the children in that family are prosperous. I'm sure they are far better than you in life. They just dont want to see their fathers company go to waste |

ornicus: And Sheryl Sandberg?
I'm in traffic and on a phone. Limits what I can copy and paste.
There are plenty of other examples.
I worked in corporate Nigeria for 14 years, and not all the coos I saw were tied to the core business. I was in downstream oil and gas. We have had coos from ICA backgrounds, from project management, and some other depts I cannot remember right now. It was our last / most recent coo who was actually from the core of the business - retail.
In the end imho your coo is a high end admin officer fo4 an enterprise A COO has to understand the core of a business. If it is a general business of course, anyone from any background can be a COO within the business. But for something specialized like Law or auditing, only a professional should be a COO. The oil and gas example you just made does not help your point. At the end of the day, one of the biggest oil tycoons in Nigeria is a glorified tailor. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by JeromeBlack: 8:42pm On Jul 18, 2019 |
Beorn1: You're funny. Did you miss the place that said he's just a cashier before working his way up to CIO? Oga, from all Ornicus has posted, you don't necessarily have to be a lawyer to be a COO in a law firm. The COO deals with the internal workings of the organization while the CEO or like the partners in a law firm, are the face of the firm.
The COO is multi-talented and sometimes knows how to make things work more than the CEO. Donna is the engine room of that firm. Everyone loves her. She even know how to settle legal disputes between their firms and others. Making her a COO is a wise and legit decision. It had nothing to do with bad script. I can see that you dont want to apply sense. I will leave you with two facts from ornicus's example. 1. The guy held an IT position before becoming a COO in an IT firm called Microsoft. 2. Between being a cashier, a CIO and a CEO the guy would have gone through numerous professional trainings and experience. |

ornicus: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/B._Kevin_Turner
From 2005 to 2016, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Microsoft. As COO, Turner was responsible for Microsoft's worldwide sales, field marketing and services organization of 51,000 employees in more than 190 countries.[3] Prior to joining Microsoft, Turner spent nearly two decades at Walmart where he worked his way up from a cashier to Chief Information Officer and later President and CEO of the Walmart-owned retailer, Sam's Club.[4]
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheryl_Sandberg
Plenty of coos out there without the technical chops.
Administration is required to keep the company running, but is not necessarily what brings in the money Sometimes I wonder how people can be so unaware when they contradict themselves. A person as a CIO, and then a CEO before becoming a COO- and that is the example you are using to say that COO is not a technical job. Lol |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by JeromeBlack: 6:00pm On Jul 18, 2019 |
ornicus: Day to day administration and operations does not require a lawyer. Most professions are very narrow skill sets and competence as a lawyer may not translate into the ability to run a law firm. Same applies in other industries eg engineering, software etal. There may be resentment from the rank and file, but administration is not a technical position Really? You do realise that even in suits they showed the technicalities involved in being the COO of a law firm? |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by JeromeBlack: 5:37pm On Jul 18, 2019 |
ornicus: What Is a Chief Operating Officer? The chief operating officer (COO) is a senior executive tasked with overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of a business. The COO typically reports directly to the chief executive officer (CEO) and is considered to be second in the chain of command. In some corporations, the COO is known by other terms, such as "executive vice president of operations," "chief operations officer," or "operations director."
The Role of the COO Depending on the CEO's preference, the COO often handles a company's internal affairs, while the CEO functions as the public face of the company, and thereby handles all outward-facing communication.
In many cases, a COO is specifically chosen to complement the skill sets of the sitting CEO. In an entrepreneurial situation, the COO often has more practical experience than the founding CEO, who may have come up with an excellent concept, but lacks the start-up know-how to launch a company and manage its early stages of development. Consequently, COOs often architect operations strategies, communicate policies to employees, and help human resources build out core teams.
[Important: Instead of having one or two skill sets, most successful COO have multi-faceted talents, enabling them to adapt to different tasks and solve a range of issues.] Therefore, a lawyer is best suited to be the COO of a Law firm as noted by the partners in suits |

Daewang: You are the only silly person here. What evidence do you have of the claims you have just made against Mr Trump? Or are you one of those ignorant people that just jump on the band wagon rehearsing liberal talking points. Are you one of those liberals who believes in opening the border for all and sundry including terrorists and gang members like MS13? Or perhaps you believe in unnatural practices like the killing of unborn babies and sexual relations with the same sex.
Perhaps are you one of those confused about their gender, the so called transgender rubbish? Or are you an islamist sympathizer like Ilhan Omar or a socialist like AOC? Or are you a Jew hater like Rashida Tlaib or a slowpoke like Ayanna Presley?
No matter how offended you feel the fact remains that Trump is here to get rid of crime, terrorism and unnatural practices. Trump is here to protect Christianity, Americans, The Constitution, Israel, freedom, capitalism and all other values that are held dear by sane Americans. If you do not like that then pack your baggage and get out of the country. America is for Americans. When did Israel become America? Why does an American president have to defend Israel? Are you no longer putting America first? Maga my naga? Furthermore, there is enough proof of all the evil and unchristian things Trump has done. nelsonoba: Boy grow up! The world does not revolve around you or around the black race. People like you are the reason blacks are viewed as victims that should be pitied by other races. I will not be party to it. Stay in your victimhood and wait for your award someday. Your mates in the black community are achieving great stuff everywhere in America, but some of you want to stay in one place and be whining about slavery that happened hundreds of years ago. The Jews in Israel have been slaves for 430years in Egypt, they have suffered the worst persecution of any tribe under Germany's Hitler where more than 6million of them were massacred, they suffer persecution today in almost all Muslim countries and yet you don't find them whining about their rights or past like many blacks with your mentality do. YOU ARE YOUR OWN WORST ENEMY, NOT TRUMP!
AND I SAY IT AGAIN, TRUMP HAS DONE FAR MORE TO EMPOWER BLACKS ECONOMICALLY THAN ANY PRESIDENT IN AMERICAN HISTORY HAD EVER DONE. I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT TRUMP BECAUSE ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS. A MAN THAT COULD GO ALL THE WAY TO EMPOWER BLACKS ECONOMICALLY LOVES BLACKS MORE THAN A PRESIDENT LIKE OBAMA THAT ONLY KNEW HOW TO GIVE SWEET ORATORY TO BLACKS! KEEP HATING WHILE YOU WATCH TRUMP KEEP WINNING! Your lies will not spread today. 1. The Jews were never enslaved by Egyptians. That is a falsehood spread by fantastical bible stories. 2. We hear more about the Jewish holocaust more than any other injustice in the world. African slavery was over 300 years. Consider how many Hollywood nazi films we have watched in the last decade. You are just a self hating black person who will give whites a better chance than your own fellow blacks. 3. Trump is a racist. Omarosa, his former employee has said so. John McCains daughter (a Republican) has said so. His congresswomen and congressmen have said so. 4. Trump has not done anything specifically for the black man. He received a good economy from a black president Obama. |

Daewang: Donald Trump is a great man and a hero to Christian civilisation Why are trump fans so silly? How is Trump a hero to christianity? -a man that cheats on his wife -a man that sleeps with prostitutes -a man that his formerr black employees call racist -a man that treats illegal immigrants like animals. Separating children from their parents and starving them -a man who pals around with tyrants like Putin and Kim Jong -a man who put indicted criminals in the White House as his employees The only way one can see trump as a hero to christianity is if you base your christianity on denying women's rights to abortion and hatred of LGBTQ. Which is a sad way to be Christian. |
