Bankers, what is your annual spend on dressing? I noticed that it now a tradition or should I say a banking culture for employees to dress down in expensive suits. How much do you buy a pair of suit? |
Sirniyeh:Your suggestions are very reasonable. I think you should be one of NLC's advisers. |
Jarus:Thanks |
I just began to notice how crazy women are with designer bags especially COACH. How much did you pay for your designer hand bag? |
nitrogen:Very interesting. ![]() |
Thank you! Also is there any guide on dollar threshold of what should be capitalized? Or this should depend on the materiality level/financial impact of the software to the company? I ask this because a multi billion dollar company may not considered a 100ksoftware to be material but a company with just 100k operating base may consider a 20k software to be material. |
Jarus:Thanks! But is it appropriate to capitalize all implementation activities that has cost component? Things like training and transportation expenses during implementation? These do not directly add value to the software. |
For software acquisition and implementation, is there a clear line from GAAP on what should be capitalized or expensed? Also, how will you determine the annual depreciation percentage year over year till you completely write off the capital portion of the implementation? |
yamakuza:1. It all depends on your control environment. Mostly, organizations considers auditing as part of the finance entity and so is accounting. That is why the audit shop has a dotted reporting line to the CFO and a solid reporting line to the audit committee. Functionally, auditing is more than just testing numbers for accuracy or performing reconciliation of financials. Auditing also includes assessing business and control processes across all departments (accounting, marketing, sales, information technology, human resources, loss prevention, supply chain, etc). 2. Cashless society is the use of alternate means of payments for good and services. This could be use of payment cards, pay pall, wire transfers etc. In 2012 and beyond, the world will experience high volumes of the use of these means of payments. Since these cashless means of payments are processed electronically and involves payment data transfers between merchants and processors, electronic security risks will also increase. The bad boys out there will come out with more sophisticated ways to steal payment files. More compliance requirements will be expected from governmental and regulatory agencies for payment processing. Hope these helps. HAPPY NEW!! |
Auditing is considered as considered a subset of the finance entity and so is accounting. |
I'd like to keep them separate being that auditing is not totally accounting. |
Nice. Just study. In most cases, all the answers but they want the most reasonable. |
Eba is made from cassava. Cassava flakes is made from cassava. People eat cassava flakes as breakfast. What is wrong with eating eba for breakfast? It is perfectly ok to eat eba for breakfast, lunch and dinner as long at you limit the quantity you consume and drink plenty of water. Also, eat fruits after each meal. Small quantity in the morning because your digestive system is just waking up, a little more for lunch because your digestive system is fully up and little for dinner because your digestive system is slowing down for night time rest. Eba is better than rice and pounded yam because it has lower %age of carbs. At least 50% of the carb in garri is removed during processing leaving eba with high %age of fiber. We all know that fiber hastens digestion. Hope this helps. |
denzel2009:Experience and exposure in governance, risk, compliance, controls etc is the key. |
denzel2009:You are very correct. All the answers are correct, however you need an auditors perspective to know the most reasonable answer. Wishing you the best of luck. I have been affiliated with ISACA for eight years. |
cliveland:Sorry we don't have a physical office or shop. Just email me if you want to place an order. Leave you phone in my email and I will call you. Thank you |
Nice contributions. |
yamakuza:What are the 5 questions? |
Subscribing |
Are there auditors, compliance pros, risk assessors or control freaks in here? Let's discuss. |
tyson55:All the politicans are disappointments. |
Nonesense! Time shall tell. They will all beg like Gaddafi shortly before his last breath. With Libya doing it with a population of just 6.4M, Nigeria will do it faster with a population of 160M. |
Digestive biscuit and five alive |
