Okay thank you

My license reads LCN(Licensed community nurse)

sharone21:

Many yrs experience isn't necessary though Mental Health may need 2 yrs experience. UK is faster, I know UK has CBT test for Assistant Nursing ( including study materials etc) and centres should be in Nigeria too....

There is LPN in USA, u may need to ask Nursing boards if you can go for LPN and if Pearson Vue centres( ask this from Pearson Vue...google) for RN is same for LPN? But some agencies can push u in first then u do this exam or upgrade to RN/ BSN

What does your license read: RN or Assistant RN?

Yea bro I have that in mind too
But the system requires you have to work for 2years before you can be admitted and you are expected to spend 1year 6months before getting your RN
zinaunreal:

To avoid stress just try and do a top up to an actual rn or bsc while you still got the time. It should take you just a year to be an rn (nd)
Travel / Re: Nigerian Nurses And Midwives With The Dream Of Working Abroad Let's Meet Here. by Jesse6(m): 6:48am On Jul 03, 2023
Wow
I really appreciate your response
Thank you so much 🙏
But pls can I email you?
sharone21:

Yes, in UK.... But, I advise you write them too if they can just accept you for Adult or Mental Health Nursing especially if you try getting experience in hospitals probably ( for Adult Nursing)at least specializing in Pry Care and Outpatient Nursing.....The Koko is getting jobs.

For USA, RN: it will depend on the agency if they do not specify rigidly on experience from big hospitals. Though I know many local government hospitals may not be bedside..... Choice of agency matters though. Personal choice too matters, as u can target getting experience in bedside specialties( Emergency, Medsurg etc). Hoping later, you can advance to a BSc in General Nursing. The key is writing the Nursing body you choose and explaining further. How many years is your program? This will determine if it falls under RN or Assistant Nursing, but full clarification is from Nursing body so you can write your NCLEX( also from CGFNS).... Some agencies will still take for Assistant Nursing with bedside experience

There is nothing like community nurse in nigeria.
Its either community midwife (which als means RM) or public health nurse.

If not either of the two, then it will be Chew.

Nice one boss🙏
toujurs:
Most Nigerian youth, isolate themselves, and tag it as an introvert.

You don't want to socialise. On-top how broke you are.

The expressive guys would want to engage you, in a conversation, someone who could be doing very well for him self.

You as a mumu, upon how broke you are and jobless, you will be forming like you have a dime.

Be smart and engaging, upon no job, you can't still open your mouth to express your challenges, you are scared of getting mocked.

Locking yourself in-house, would only add more pain to your miserable life.

Better begin to open your mind, and be expressing be engaging so help can come your way.

Stop behaving like a mumu.

Like some of us applicants spend money and time applying these jobs with hope that things will workout one day
Olachase:
Yes that lady is right in my formal company a multinational company for that matter will post a vacancy, buh the people they want to employ are already in the company, over 70-80 people will come for the interview buh none will be pick

Few days ago I read how an OP talked about Connecting with people helps you get a Job. With my experience yesterday he is very correct about what he said.

I recently applied for a field Volunteer with an NGO(WHO) considering the fact that am a community nurse, the role actually fits in my experience cause is about the polio eradication initiatives in Nigeria.
I got an invite for interview on getting there I met about 25 people and the requirements is 10 people, so as we all were waiting for the commencement of the interview, I engaged in a conversation with one of the applicant, omo wetin this girl tell me make me dey ask myself "wetin carry me apply this work?"
She said this interview is just like eye service, that the 10people are on ground already which she said she is one of them because her connect is among the panel of the interviewers.
Omo like this my agenda for the rest of my life na to dey try connect with people both young and old, I swear na the way forward.

its a nice one your brothers are on track( studying computer science ).

All they need is the right mindset, the zeal to learn, a laptop, then they will have to register in a tech school were its taught, and they also have to learn on youtube, it will help them learn faster.

Thanks bro
I have seen a lot of testimonies on nairaland about this
But bro how do I get them start the basic like what do they need to start 🙏
Mummyimbecile:
please bro, advise your brothers to learn a tech skill.

Money I got from Upwork helped me in paying for my flight ticket when I got my visa.

Getting a degree can only get someone a job of 150k highest in Nigeria for a start,( that's if the person is lucky enough)

But learning a skill can earn you thousands of dollars on Upwork. Once you're good, clients go dey rush you
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Did You Land Your Current Job? by Jesse6(m): 7:30pm On May 19, 2023
I have two brothers studying computer education
I have tried convincing my parents to channel same amount of money on these guys to learn digital skills but No they so value this degree thing
Mummyimbecile:
this is wise advice. I have said it here countless times, digital skill is the way to go.

I wish young Nigerians know what bringing out a month or two to learn a digital skill will earn you on Fiveer or Upwork.

When I was in Nigeria, I learned one and it helped me alot. I learnt web design and development.

I freelance, use geepay to convert my dollar and push it to my naira account.

Working on upwork will make you live what I call a baby boy lifestyle.

Imagine earning 3000 dollars a month. It's not easy if you start, but with time, you will reap the fruits.

A friend of mine just got a job. In the US, he will be coming to Connecticut next month. He is a data analyst.
