Crime / Sokoloan: A Money Lending Company Or Corporate Fraud System? by Jesuferanmi(m): 3:22pm On Feb 17, 2021
Hello Nairalanders, good afternoon.

My attention is particularly drawn to "SokoLoan" after I received at least a couple of calls from the said company saying someone got a loan from them and has refused to pay.

I did a random check up on Google and it seems they actually have a website, but the links to their social media pages from their website did not click through. Spotlight one.

I went on Facebook and searched "SokoLoan". Part of the feedback I got led me to "SokoLoan Nigeria".
[Link: web.facebook.com/sokoloannigeria] Eureka! Spotlight two.

I was in haste to see what their posts were like and the first post that greeted me was a "free N500 repayment coupon." This post is dated 25th November, 2020.

While I processed what a free loan coupon meant, I proceeded to other posts taking time to read comments and what I read was quite appalling. Maybe SokoLoan is more than just a loan company. And maybe it is just a loan company.

This is especially to whoever has any idea about this company. Have your say.
Phones / Quick Fix For Screen Ink? by Jesuferanmi(m): 8:17am On Jan 02, 2020
Imagine the funny look on my face when a random person asked if I had chocolate as my wall paper?

In case you haven't experienced or seen it before, I am referring to what happens when your phone drops or there's pressure on the screen - such that ink pops. The annoying part is when the ink spreads and you're unable to view a large portion of your screen.

Lucky you if you have "one-hand" feature on your phone that allows you minimize your screen display.

As at today, there is almost no solution to this issue. Prevention remains the ultimate best.

Should ink spill on your screen though, don't hesitate to replace the screen as soon as you have the money. You could actually attempt to remove the screen and clean with a tissue, but that could be disastrous - the touch pad might be faulty in the process so you'd better not try. They say a try doesn't kill, though. Try it out if you have extra funds and be kind enough to give a feedback

Business / Top Five Reasons To Subscribe To MTN by Jesuferanmi(m): 6:37pm On Oct 27, 2019
#1: A right plan for every customer.

With MTN, every customer has a plan that meets his or her needs well. There is a right plan for the market woman or business man that makes calls almost throughout the day. There is a plan for the young man that prefers to send messages to his customers and remind them them of appointments. There is a plan just fit for that student that surfs the net 24/7. All plans are pocket friendly and suited for specific customers. Find tips on deciding a right plan in our subsequent blog updates.

#2: Free data bonus

What network offers you data bonus like MTN does? I doubt there's any. Data bonuses are available for both existing and new subscribers. For new subscribers, the data bonuses are enormous.
Do you have an existing MTN number? Click here to chat live with one of our reps and get guided step by step on how to receive your free 500mb.
What's more? Like other networks, you have 4gig data bonus for changing your SIM from 3G to 4G. I think this is quite massive considering how much work that could do.

Celebrities / Opinion: Let’s Get To The Rock Bottom Of A Pertinent Issue, Shall We? by Jesuferanmi(m): 11:03pm On Oct 25, 2019
I for whatever reason clicked on my beloved browser and saw a notification pop. I felt it was just media stunt till I got to my fav forum and saw it was for crying out loud on front page. Like, wth?
I understand. Promotional. Let’s create some new vibes. Let’s give them what they want. Kill it. But, really?
I was once very proud of what entertainment in the Nigerian context represents. I think I like the fact that it roots us to our source and promotes our culture. Deep culture. But that part of us welcoming the good, bad, pretty, ugly and literally, every single shade of the “Western” culture is dangerously evil. We are unavoidably losing the very essence we once held on to on a platter of what? Fame?
Come to think of it. No one famous maintains that status forever. Call it clout chasing, call it whatever. The fact still speaks for itself that what got you famous – whether barleys of flesh or bounties of talents would be what would speak for you after fame dies.
Would we ever get enough of the notification I saw? NO. Not in actual fact anytime soon. Reality, not pessimism. Using the media has supposedly always been by choice and apparently, the obvious suggestion would be then to join them if you cannot change them or just leave them let them do their thing. Watch or pretend you didn’t see a thing. And that’s the most part. Or would you black out from the media because everyone else had interests different from yours?
Let’s get right on to it. It is no child’s play to do something and it trends. But when what you trend especially after attaining a celebrity status is pure mediocrity, I have no reaction but utter dismay.
Career / Cracked: Top 10 Reasons To Stay Up Late by Jesuferanmi(m): 1:36am On Oct 25, 2019
Cracked: Top 10 reasons to stay up late

You sure have to see #10 but first, watch out for #6.

Let's have a jolly ride on this

#1: Nothing To Do

Have you once stayed up at night gazing into the sky or lying on your and just staring into empty space? It is true you did not feel sleepy. It is equally true you had nothing to do. Sure, if you had anything to do, you would have got right onto it.

#2: Day’s Reflections

Of all the discussions I have held with my elder brother, one I hold very dear is an advice he gave “every night before you sleep, think about how your day went.” Over the years, I have come to appreciate how much this has shaped the choices I make and the way I react to things. Most of us are busy all through the day and need to spend a little time reflecting before sailing to dreamland.

"Our Lives Begin to End The Day We Keep Silent About The Things That Matter."

– Martin Luther King Jnr

A yet unidentified woman has been caught on camera froclicking with a baby’s private parts.

The baby boy is estimated to be barely a year old and watches helplessly.

Pferanmisblog asserts that this is a very shameful act and the offender should be brought to book.

Do you think the voter is old enough to be 28 already?

Education / Why Do Blog Owners Like To Publish False News? by Jesuferanmi(m): 6:07am On Sep 29, 2018
It has almost become a cliché that believing a post published on a Nigerian blog without verifying its claims is believing at your own peril. While verification before believing helps to prevent subsequent circulation of rumours and unfounded "truths," publishing falsehood infringes on the public's access to a correct information.
In a bid to make quick traffic or for whatever reason, it is a gross misconduct for blog owners to publish false news. Lack of stringent actions on some of our laws shouldn't be taken for granted.
Here's what popped up first when I made to check whether UI departmental cut off marks have been released. I'm too angry to type. Anyone guilty of posting false news should please stop such.

ALL THE 2018 UTME CANDIDATES, TAKE NOTE !

AS U CHECK UR UTME RESULT TOMORROW...

NO CAUSE FOR ALARM !

1. God has the Power to Perfect everything that concerns U. HE is interested in your University education !.

2. In ALL things , give thanks to God.

3. LIFE is more important than the UTME. Life is more important than going to the university.

There's therefore no reason whatsoever for any Candidate to contemplate suicide because of mere UTME SCORE. SAY NO TO SUICIDE !.

4. If U ( the dreamer ) is alive, the dream of being to the University will eventually be fulfilled, no matter how long it takes

5. If U ( the dreamer) is dead, God forbid, the dream of being a University graduate also dies

6. Preserve your Life, don't give any moment of thought to suicide because your Future will be great eventually. Suicide thoughts are from the devil. YOUR FUTURE WILL BE BEAUTIFUL !

7. Having a low UTME result doesn't mean that you have failed. NOT ATALL !. After all, many factors could have contributed to it.

8. Having a low UTME Score doesn't mean that U will not be admitted into the higher Institution this year. NOT ATALL !. U will be admitted !

9. JAMB'S change of Course/ Institution is a Wonderful policy that gives U the opportunity to remake your choice of course or Institution based on your UTME SCORE . With this Policy, U can easily find a Course/ University that matches your UTME SCORE

7. If your UTME SCORE isn't good enough to get U a space in your original Course/ Institution of Choice, U can easily go in for a less Competitive Course/ Institution.

8. For instance, if your Score isn't great enough to secure U admission for MBBS @ UNILAG or UNIZIK, instead of spending another year at home, U could go for a related but less Competitive Course like Radiography, Physiotherapy, Physiology, etc. Interestingly, U can reapply for UTME again next year while U are already in year 1.

9. In the past, many Candidates have changed to less Competitive courses, only to end up becoming the BESTS in those departments & graduating on FIRST CLASS. With a FIRST CLASS degree, limitless opportunities abound before U irrespective of your Course of Study

10. I think it's far better to graduate on FIRST CLASS from a less Competitive Course than to Struggle through a more Competitive one & graduate uncelebrated

11. The Post UTME is still on the way. So, U can also prepare very seriously & become a Top Scorer here, thus making up for the setback U had in d UTME

12. Some of the Top Scorers we have had so far in the 2018 JAMB TOP SCORERS FORUM have attempted the UTME before ( Adewole, 337, Chiawa, 325, Ferjiro, 311 Ezekobi, 306 ).They scored low in the past, realised their Mistakes, worked harder under my supervision and are now reckoned among the Bests in the entire Country

13. Some years back, the BEST FEMALE graduating Student & 2nd Overall BEST in UNILAG with 4.92 CGPA attempted the UTME 4 times. Even at the 4th time, she still didn't make it, so she had to come into UNILAG via the diploma programme. She told me that while she attempted the UTME all those years, ( I hope U don't call that Failure ), she kept getting better & better Until she was ready to come to the University

My Dear Candidates, there's nothing to Worry about. By the Grace of God, your University admission this year is SURE !

REFUSE to be held back by any past, whatsoever !

REFUSE to be looked down-on by any person, whosoever !

ARISE & face your FUTURE with great hope & determination

YOUR BACKGROUND ISN'T THE REASON YOUR BACK SHOULD BE ON THE GROUND

U ARE BRILLIANT

U ARE THE BEST

U ARE UNSTOPPABLE !

I LOVE, ALL !"
