Make sense. Well done boys. |
Nigerian universities will be thrown into crisis again beginning from Monday, December 4, as three major unions will embark on another bout of industrial action. Daily Sun reports that the three non-academic staff unions are angry about the sharing formula of the N23 billion released by the federal government to settle their allowances. READ ALSO: Rabiu Kwankwaso has given his supporters the go-ahead to dump APC - Nephew claims The report said the decision to resume the suspended strike was taken at a meeting of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) which is made up of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), the Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) and the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT). The meeting held in Abuja. Premium Times also reports that the workers complained about the way the financial allocation was shared. “We wrote a letter to the federal ministry of education to explain the criteria for the allocation and we gave them seven days notice to do the needful. But the date has elapsed without a response from the federal government,” they said in a statement signed by national presidents of NAAT, Sani Sulaimon; NASU, Chris Ani; and SSANU, Samson Ugwoke. NAIJ.com earlier reported that the chairman and secretary University of Ibadan chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Deji Omole and Peter Olapegba , recently alleged threats to their lives over issues of earned academic allowances. The Nation reports that the duo in a letter titled 'Threat to Life', addressed to the Chairman of the Council on Security and copied to divisional police officer Sango, stated that they have been receiving verbal threats to their lives on issues related to allowances of their colleagues. Linda Ikeji writes more on this here: https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2017/11/non-academic-staff-shutdown-university-of-ibadan-with-protest-2.html |
Today started off as a normal one till around 8am when it was reportedly said that the school gates had been closed. Rumours had it that NASU (Non Academic Staff Union) members, UI chapter, were on a strike. Later, another set of rumours said SSANU and NAAT were the ones embarking on the protest. But for the fact that some non-academic staff members like the University Health Service (Jaja clinic) were at their duty post, one could well enough say NASU staged the protest. The protest was quite peaceful and hardly would anyone who had no reason to access the gate know anything happened. However, most departments had one or no lecture throughout the day. As at now, the cause is yet to be ascertained and this is therefore still in course. It would be recalled that students have once had to spend some weeks at home. Hence, the relevant constituted authorities should kindly meet their demands to avert a total and comprehensive strike action. |
Cc: UI Aspirants '17 . Basically it isn't a rumour that the pume results have been released officially. I was even made to understand that if not for 'logistic reasons,' it should have been out since three days. That's the First and Best for you. Well and well, up till the last academic session, UI has consistently maintained pegging its cut off at 50. It's likely many departments wouldn't go a mark up as their cut off. UI has no catchment area per say, as you're aware, I guess. Wishing you a landslide cruising to matriculation. |
patriotsam:. Not bad. congrats. Could have been awesome tho'. |

Unlike its analogues; Oxygen, Fluorine and Nitrogen, the interaction between hydrogen and chlorine in HCl does not exhibit hydrogen bonding. In an attempt to understand why, Jesuferanmi got confused. Chemists in the house, kindly explain why... |
The general overseer of Deeper Christian Life Ministry is to visit Oyo State on the 10th of November. The man of God has been to different states in the Southwest and all over Nigeria and different signs and wonders have been following his ministrations. The one-day programme he would hold in Oyo state is not going to be an exception, said one of his church members. It is very much obvious as well that the whole Oyo state is anticipating his coming. |

Using a phone lock or password rather is just not my thing. Not using it rather saves me the stress of having to draw patterns or type passwords each time I need to make use of my phone. Besides, I once had a nasty experience trying to unlock my phone when I forgot the password. It's really okay if someone's comfortable using it though. |
