Publisher of End-Time, Mr David Lucas, has pleaded for forgiveness from the top Nigerian pastors that he allegedly libelled in his journal.
He owned up before journalists on Friday evening that the stories published in his journal about the top men of God were untrue.
He stressed that he verified the stories after they were published and found them untrue.

Lucas was said to have been arrested by the men of the Lagos State Police Command last Thursday and was taken to Idimu Police Station in Lagos for investigation.

The Christian leaders he had allegedly libelled include: Apostle Timothy Obadare of the World Soul Winning Evangelistic Ministry (WOSEM), Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and Prophet Samuel Kayode Abiara of the Christ Apostolic Church, Agbala Itura, Ibadan.

Also, Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel), Apostle Taiwo Adenuga of the Faith Revival Apostolic Church (FRAC)/Apostle Paul Gospel Outreach, Reverend Obiora Ezekiel of the Christ Pentecostal Mission, Lagos, Reverend Daniel Kayode Olukoya of the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries were allegedly libelled in the journal.

The list also included Prophet Elijah Akinade of CAC, Lion of Judah, Prophet Temitope Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations and Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of the Christ Embassy and Pastor Funmilade Joel (Baba Sekunderin)

Lucas, according to the journal, accused Prophet Abiara of killing his junior pastor, hiding a mistress and two kids in America. While the journal said Bishop Oyedepo impregnated two choristers in his church, it claimed that Apostle Obadare died and saw Late Pastor Bimbo Odukoya in hell. The journal also reported that some RCCG pastors plotted against Pastor Adeboye, go for juju and occult power.

Pastor Paul Obadare, who is the General Overseer of WOSEM in America and Europe in an interview with Daily Sun expressed shock over the publication against his father and described it as a fallacy. “The issue that as to whether he died or he saw Pastor Bimbo Odukoya, all that were just fallacy. They were not true. To a large extent, I see it as a distraction, which was intended to do an incalculable harm to the body of Christ. My father did not die. He’s doing fine. He’s with his children in the United States and they’re taking care of him. Very soon, he will return to Nigeria,” he asserted.

In a telephone conversation with Prophet Abiara, Lucas declared that he had found out the story he published about the man of God was not real. He apologized and pleaded for forgiveness. Abiara asked: “Before you published that evil reports, you should have asked me whether the information was real or not. When Jesus Christ was accused of using evil spirit to do miracles, he told them that all sins shall be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven in this world and the one to come. With your negative stories about Oyedepo and other ministers of God, do you know that you have sinned against the Holy Spirit?”

In his response, Lucas profusely pleaded for forgiveness from all the ministers of God he had allegedly libelled. Majority of the stories, he confessed, stemmed out from various interviews with one Evangelist Isunola Odewale. He stated that other stories were culled out from the other soft sell magazines.
Abiara, however, demanded a public apology from Lucas on the stories he had published in his journal against Abiara, Adeboye, Oyedepo, Obadare and other Shepherds.

Apostle Taiwo Adenuga who earlier addressed a press conference on the negative reports about top pastors in Nigeria described the publications as mischievous. He explained that reported the publisher at Idimu Police Station based on his ‘libellous stories’ against Christian leaders. The police, he disclosed, arrested the publisher last Thursday. He also told newsmen that the police have arrested the Evangelist, Isunola Odewale, whom the publisher claimed he interviewed for investigation.

When contacted on phone, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Command, Mr. Frank Mbah, said he was not aware of the arrest, adding that he would make enquiries. Adenuga said: “I suspect that some people are behind the publications to tear Christendom apart. They are doing all these in order to make many Christians who have not stood firm in Christianity to backslide.”

“As a child of God that wants peace for this nation, born of God and not by tribe or denomination, I cannot open my eyes and see the Kingdom of God depopulated through this unethical and ungodly publications. “You will agree with me that the ethics of journalism stipulate objectivity, accuracy and balance. The publisher of the journal in question has failed to balance his reports because he did not hear from the pastors he accused before he went to the press. We will not kill him but we are going to save his life.”

The records were originally compiled by the Government's Alien Office after the 1793 Aliens Act was passed, paving the way for immigrants to be recorded at their port of entry.

Ancestry.co.uk international content director Dan Jones said: "Most people think of immigration to Britain as very much a 20th century trend.

"However, as these records prove, immigrants have been arriving on our shores for literally centuries, some fleeing political or religious persecution, others famine or civil war, and many simply to take advantage of their status as citizens of the British Empire.

"Literally half of all Brits have immigrant ancestors and with more historical immigration records now online than ever before, there has never been a better time for Brits to start exploring where they may really have come from."

National Archives migrant specialist Roger Kershaw added: "These collections highlight the growing diversity of cultures, languages and skills prevalent in 19th century Britain - a time shaped by great industrial expansion and optimism.

"The professions ranged from composers, writers and artists to industrialists, politicians and royalty and it's their contribution we still see reflected in our cosmopolitan society today."

The hide-and-seek game over President Umaru Yar’Adua’s true health condition and the mystery surrounding his whereabouts continue to spin 48 days after he left the country to Saudi Arabia for medical treatment.

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) on Wednesday night stunned Nigerians with a report that Yar’Adua was not with the Saudi hospital where many thought he had been receiving treatment since November 23, 2009.
The Hausa Service of the BBC quoted an official of the King Faisal Hospital and Research Centre, Jeddah, that Yar’Adua was no longer with them.
The hospital official was also reported to have refused to confirm whether the President was earlier at the hospital at all.

To further compound the mystery, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors emerged from a closed door meeting with Vice President Goodluck Jonathan and told Nigerians that they didn’t know when Yar’Adua would return to his duty post.

Interestingly, chairman of the Governors’ Forum and governor of Kwara State, Dr Bukola Saraki, had told newsmen that the ailing leader phoned Jonathan, the Senate President, David Mark, and Speaker of the House, Dimeji Bankole, from his sick bed and spoke with them for about four minutes each.
But baring any last-minute change of mind, the ailing President may cease to be the leader of Nigeria any time from this week.

Already, both the members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and governors elected on the platform of the party are scheduled for separate meetings in Abuja, apparently, to deliberate on the rudderlessness that has being the lot of Nigeria since Yar’Adua left the shores of Nigeria.

The governors are meeting for the second time in the last ten days while the BoT was meeting for the first time.
Although the main agenda for the BoT meeting was still shrouded in secrecy, a source close to one of the leaders of the board scooped that the board is poised to take a position on the vacuum that has existed at the Presidency.
The BoT, which is presently led by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, comprises of the past and present senate presidents, the past and present Speakers of the House of Representatives, the present party chairman and the party secretary, as well as several other party chieftains from across the country.

A source said: “Obasanjo is likely to push the board to make a case for the swearing in of Vice President Goodluck Jonathan as acting President. He will likely alert members of the illegality of placing an unwritten rule of PDP over and above provisions of the Constitution of the country.”

The source however predicted that members might not be predisposed to the idea of Jonathan taking over “because Obasanjo is not a good politician and he might not have done enough home work to garner support for his position. The number of members that might support his position might not be able to make the BoT come out boldly to say Jonathan should take over.”

Besides, governors of the PDP who last week met in Abuja are also heading towards the Federal Capital to meet again on the issue.
A source said the governors are “likely to look at the likely problem that the absence of the President is creating for the country and the likelihood of anti-democratic forces scuttling the nations democracy.
“ They are afraid that the vacuum could encourage some people to try to topple the government and then pull everybody down”.

The source added that the plan by some members of the House of Representatives to debate the continued absence of the president is one of the reasons for the frantic meetings.
Indeed, a National Assembly source hinted, “those that are bent on discussing the matter on the floors of the assembly may even push for their leaders to demonstrate their seriousness.
He said that those that also feel the same way in the senate might follow suit soon and that means serious trouble for David Mark and Dimeji Bankole (Senate President and Speaker House of Representatives respectively)
It was learnt that “the failure of the president to speak up while the American government is hammering us, for instance is an impeachable offence.”

A lot of the members are unhappy that Ambassador Garba Aminchi who said that he Yar’Adua is responding to treatment in a VIP Chalet of the Saudi Hospital could not persuade him to speak with President Barrack Obama over the Christmas day attempted bombing by Farouk Abdulmutallab.
‘‘What kind of leader will hear that his countryman tried to bomb another country and refuse to talk to those that are out to tar his country with a terror-nation brush?. It is difficult to agree that he is really conscious somewhere in the midst of all this confusion,” the source said.

But another source said that Yar’Adua might be ‘packaged’ into the country this week and ferried to Katsina from where he is expected to send his resignation left and allow Jonathan to take over the leadership of the country.
The source added, “the belief in many quarters in PDP is that the man’s health is hopeless. Forget all those lies that he spoke with some people and we believe we had better move on without him.”

Sources close to the leadership of the National Assembly doubted the claim by Saraki that the ailing leader spoke to some key leaders. They recalled similar doubts that accompanied earlier reports credited to Saraki on his return from Saudi Arabia that he met the President and that the man was in high spirits. It later turned out that he never met the sick leader, who at that time was reportedly in intensive care and only Yar’Adua’s wife, Turai, and Nigeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Garba Aminchi, had access to him.
But Bankole, speaking through his aide, Kayode Odunaro, confirmed that the President actually spoke with the speaker and that he wished Nigerians well in the new year.

Who between the hospital authorities and the Nigerian government officials, who claimed to have seen or spoken to Yar’Adua, should be believed on the true position of his whereabouts?
While the controversy lingers, Sunday Sun can authoritatively reveal that Nigerians will have to wait longer for the return of their President.

Contrary to claims by government officials that the President’s health condition was improving, our investigation revealed that there had rather been no significant improvement. At the time of filing this report, Sunday Sun sources insist that Yar’Adua had since left Saudi Arabia.
A very dependable source disclosed that he left the King Faisal Hospital and Research Centre, Jeddah, precisely on December 23, 2009, exactly one month after he left Nigeria, for an undisclosed destination, to seek further treatment.
The source further said that contrary to insinuations that the President had spoken with some people in the past and in recent times, he had actually since November 23 not eaten food and as such does not have the energy to carry out the kind of conversation some of his aides claim he may have made.

Said our source: “Nigeria is a funny country. It is a country from past experience where you don’t believe anything until you see them happening. Mr President is not okay at all, and that is the gospel truth. Those hiding the true situation of things know why they are doing what they are doing.
“By the time the man was leaving Nigeria, he had no opportunity of writing anything, because he was practically in a state of coma when he left. That was why the NTA (Nigeria Television Authority) could not show us the footages they normally show each time the man was traveling abroad.

“Now, if you say the man has signed the supplementary budget and he is now speaking with some top people in Nigeria, that presupposes that he has some energy to, at least, write down something. He should have simply written to the National Assembly to allow his deputy run the affairs the country formally.
“But what I suspect is that they are only trying to buy time for the man. Don’t forget, before Mr President left for the first medical trip, before this contentious one, we are all knew the man was not okay. To buttress my point, if you know the (Presidential) Villa very well, from the red carpet to his office is just about a 100metres or even less. The man could not trek it. Instead what he does is to go by car.
“So what I am saying is that they are buying time for the man. I will not be surprised if the President does not return home till mid-2010 or thereabout. From the feelers we are getting, the man is likely to spend up to six months before returning home.”

The source further revealed that if it was true that Yar’Adua’s condition was getting better, by now the Turai (First Lady) they know would have since come out to say so.
“Any time you see any member of the first family saying anything concerning the state of health of Mr President, then know that truly the situation is improving,” the source added.
Other sources in Katsina, Kaduna and Abuja corroborated this claim, with one of them recalling that when Yar’Adua was Katsina State governor, he stayed away from office on medical grounds for about six months before returning to work.

The President’s Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Senator Mohammed Abba Aji, even confirmed this to journalists in Abuja recently that when Yar’Adua was governor, people raised a lot of dust when he took ill and was away for about six months.
He added that he did not only return to work hale and hearty, but went ahead to win a second term and eventually won the presidential election.
At the time of filing this report, it was not exactly clear when Yar’Adua would return to the country, but one thing that was clear from Sunday Sun’s investigation was that Nigerians should be prepared to wait longer to see their President.

As the current Israeli war against Hamas in Gaza continues, the worldwide propaganda assault against Israel grows exponentially. In the light of this, it's important to review a little history about Gaza. In 2005, Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza and completely turned its administration over to the Palestinian Authority. All of the Jewish settlements were disbanded and their residents forcibly removed. The Israeli agricultural, commercial and residential assets – which were considerable – were left for the Palestinians.

They promptly trashed and destroyed these valuable assets that would have greatly helped them feed their own people. They were given the freedom to develop what easily could have been something like a "Hong Kong" of the Mediterranean. Many nations poured billions of dollars into the coffers of the Palestinian leadership to help them realize that dream.

Instead, the Palestinians used the money to build a terrorist army. They purchased weapons and munitions to equip that army. They smuggled into Gaza a formidable arsenal and began to launch daily attacks on Israel's cities.

They didn't even pretend to build an economic infrastructure that would enable the Gazan citizens to support themselves. That's why the partial Israeli closure of the crossing points has made life so difficult for the average Palestinian. Most of them can only find work in Israel. There is none in Gaza.

Why? Because all of the economic development money was poured into terrorism. Despite this glaring fraud, the world insists on rewarding the Palestinians for their open deception.

The so-called "enlightened and responsible nations" have developed a formula for exclusive use against Israel. This formula determines under what circumstances and in what manner Israel is allowed to defend itself against terrorist attacks. First, the provocation must be many times more serious than would be necessary for other nations. Simple acts of war, such as hostage-taking or continuous missile attacks against civilian population centers, are not sufficient provocation to permit defensive measures.

Since 2005, more than 6,000 rockets have rained down on Israeli cities from Gaza. In a display of remarkable restraint, only after three years and thousands of unprovoked attacks did Israel finally feel sufficiently justified to launch a defensive response.

Now, the second phase of the anti-Israel propaganda assault kicks in. It begins almost immediately with the usual suspects – led by the Arabs, the Russians, the Muslims – all demanding an immediate Israeli withdrawal from its "invasion" of Gaza.

Right on cue, the members of the United Nations begin their usual chorus – charging that Israel's response is "not proportionate."

Finally, the media revs up their one-sided campaign. Their job is to spotlight the injuries and deaths of Palestinian women and children who are accidentally hit during the intense battles. Apparently, the months and years of constant bombardment lavished on the Israelis by Hamas thugs didn't trigger the media's interest. Only when Israel struck back did the signal go out for the mainstream media to join the fray.

In Gaza, Hamas terrorists hide in classrooms and hospital basements. They store weapons in mosques and use university laboratories for bomb-making factories. They are currently hiding long-range rockets in the basement of Gaza City's main hospital. They intentionally place women and children on the rooftops of buildings they know will soon be targets of the Israeli air force.

Then, when these human shields are killed or wounded by Israeli fire, the media vents their outrage on the Israeli gunner or pilot, not the calculating terrorist. The bodies of dead terrorists – or their human shields – are then paraded by the ever-accommodating media as "innocent victims of Israeli aggression." And the orchestrated calls for "proportionality" grow louder.

Following this oft-repeated formula, as the selected media images mount, the predictable demands for an unconditional Israeli cease-fire rise to a global crescendo. Moderate Western governments like France, Britain and other EU nations that have large Muslim populations begin to demand that Israel cease this "disproportionate war." The worldwide cry grows until finally the United States is bullied into not vetoing a Security Council resolution condemning Israel as an unjustified aggressor.

This is the formula that has always worked. The Islamic fundamentalists know this formula well. Terrorist organizations like Hezbollah and Hamas have perfected the use of this formula to the point of making it a "tactic of war." Islamic terrorists attack and fight until they begin to lose. Then the world rushes in and rescues them to fight another day.

"Proportionality" is the key word that has been especially adapted for use against Israel in order to guarantee its eventual destruction through attrition.

The historically accepted objective of defensive warfare is to eliminate an enemy's ability to harm you. The side that does that first is the winner. And until one side has accomplished that goal, the war continues.

The one overriding goal of Hamas is the annihilation of Israel. It's clearly spelled out in their Charter. They confirm it at every opportunity. The "enlightened nations" just can't grasp this reality. The 6,000-plus rocket attacks against Israel were provoked by nothing more than Israel's continued existence. As long as Israel exists, Hamas' goal remains unfulfilled. The numerous state-supported Islamic terrorist organizations feel the same way.

On the other hand, Israel has demonstrated that it will absorb almost any blow before resorting to war. Israel's one goal is to secure a lasting peace. To achieve that goal, Israel must eliminate the enemy's ability to wage war. If they don't, war will continue in perpetuity.

The U.N.'s definition of "proportionality" in the case of Israel's self-defense means that Israeli losses must be at least equal to Palestinian losses. If Israel follows this formula, it guarantees that they will eventually loose by attrition. It guarantees that war will continue until the Muslims get strong enough to finally obliterate Israel. Just think what would have been the outcome of World War II if the same irrational thinking had been forced on the allied armies fighting against Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan.

Some argue that Hamas is just defending itself, and homemade missiles are the only weapons they have against Israeli warplanes and tanks. But Hamas is NOT defending itself against Israel when it shells Israeli cities. Israel has not occupied Gaza since its 2005 withdrawal.

However, if Hamas would cease firing rockets and sending suicide bombers into Israel, there would be no need to defend itself. The borders would be open and peace and prosperity would follow.

The indiscriminate firing of rockets into civilian population centers is internationally acknowledged as a war crime. It constitutes collective punishment under U.N. treaty law. But since it's Hamas firing against Jewish targets, the United Nations is silent. This is just another example of how international law is more binding on Israel than any other nation on earth.

There is no other nation whose conduct is subjected to closer scrutiny by "international law experts" than Israel – the U.N. appointed them for that specific purpose. But in the case of Israel, it can be demonstrated that Israel's enemies use U.N. international law against them.

Hamas claims its attacks are in resistance to Israel's closing of its borders. But the reason why Israel closes its borders with Gaza are never mentioned. None of Israel's critics ever consider that every time Israel opens its borders to Palestinian workers, a flood of suicide bombers are sent in. And when Gaza's international borders are opened, Hamas rushes in new and more powerful rockets to fire at Israel's cities.

What is it about Israel that makes it the world's pariah state? How can it be that no insult to the Arabs is too slight to justify wholesale murder, whereas no atrocity, no matter how outrageous, justifies an Israeli defensive response? It matters not how reasonable and legitimate the defensive action would be for any other nation. But leaders from around the world have streamed into the U.N. to defend the "Palestinian democracy" – as if such an entity exists.

It makes absolutely no sense in the natural. Only the Bible can explain the mystery behind the supernatural hatred of the Jews. Bible prophecy predicted that Israel would be miraculously reborn in "the last days." The Bible also predicted that a supernatural hatred against Jews would grow worldwide. This will be soon followed by Armageddon and the return of Jesus the Messiah.

All of this is being fulfilled to the letter before our eyes. So don't be surprised or afraid. Christ's return to deliver those who have believed in Him is coming very soon.
