dyydxx: I agree with Jezrel90.
I was the first to do on Thursday and I scored 30. All my friends that did the next day had from 45 to 50/50. Yes I know someone that got 50/50. They had solve everything before going in. Obviously they would get called and us that score low won't go anywhere. Not fair at all. VINDICATED! |

professorgome: Man, just imagine a field like ICT. See those questions, the organizers decided to narrow their brains to about 4 or so topics in ICT. So bad. I've never written this kind of exam before. Computer is too broad to limit yourself to those trash called questions. And you called yourself an examiner. Exactly my point... If you're using a skill based test, let it be. If you're using an aptitude test, then let it be. You cant appraise a candidate's performance potential using just one topic, this is not classwork. Its a NO-NO. |

ND4Best: Most people failed because they refused to ask questions. Most especially those that wrote the second day. In a competitive test like this, you must be friendly with people. Last year results was a bite high when compared to this year. Most people passed. NO COMPLAIN from applicants despite that fact the organization was poor. They repeated all questions last year. NDDC used Mr.Godson. he was applauded. This year, they also consulted Mr. Godson. Now, he employed the same approach used in 2015, applicants are complaining about method they once applauded. I was against this approach last year, most applicants misunderstood me. I guess they can see the adverse effect now. Any way, I wish u all success. I have forwarded an email to the hierarchy of NDDC, but I will be expecting an honest review from a few of you guys to back it up. Doing so, Im sure all these will change next year. Its either the organisers sit-up or get kicked out. We cant be chanting "CHANGE" and insist on unjust ways. So far I have compiled these observations: 1. Questions repetition (buggish-Algorithm)2. Unfair selection process (A lot of high potential candidates will be unfairly dropped)3. Test not standardized (This goes against standard International practices)Lets wait and see what the selection process will be like. **fingers-crossed** |

baresi22: Hi guys, hope good.To those that scored very high-congrats.To those that did not make as much as they expected-all hope is not lost.Cinfores 'cast' when a good number of people scored above 85% in the last PRESSID.An hour exam of maths, english(with passages),current affairs and logic. No sensible person will want to be embarrassed twice even if they were to conduct the exam.Like I said before, the test is just 40% of your total score while interview is 60%. I have to say it clearly that no system is perfect, however,do not be disillusioned by people's assertion that NDDC isnt transparent. These kind of bodies are always under pressure cos there are people that you just cant say no to.However, they still have to meet their statutory responsibility of impacting on the people by making sure that a good number merit it.I had that misconception until I saw my fellow comrades-in-the-hustle get the award,I had to step up my game.
It is obvious that the average score is quite low,it simply means they will cut lower. The main thing is that you have done your best. I prefer to worry about things that I have control over rather than the ones that I dont. I think you have control over the interview which I feel will come up soonest. It is about five man panel interview and it gives balance cos they assess you differently. I agree with you but really its not about you worrying about yourself alone, its about advocating for the right systems to be put in place. |

Nelzone: lol. Going thru this thread I just keep laughin. I do understand people's despise for the process. But lemme start on the note that INFORMATION IS KEY, Jezrel I totally agree with u that wat u heard about how the test went yest influenced what u scored. Buh if u really wanna evaluate urself, try to imagine if u had gone to the hall with ur initial prep without the info. Back to my point, do u people know that even with all the anticinfores fight we raised, people were still studyin cinfores this morning. I actually did the test today, and I did well, I have tried evaluating myself with the amount of preparation I had made before any info i got, and discovered I wld have still done well (mind u I didnt hear questions from yest, just the exam pattern that there wasnt current affairs or maths or english like last year), cos I made sure I went thru Physical Geology from beginning to end, which is the basic test book or ebook for any geologist, It was already well stated here that the questions were from area of specialization mainly (whih I knew wld be basics, atlst esp for my course), and then lil maths, english, and CA. I didnt read maths and english, abah, if after different apt tests am still urging to read maths and english again for test, thats abnormal na, I just only flipped thru current affairs. Then went thru my almost 400pages physical gly ebook, took time on topics I knew are quite tough/confusing and the ones i hav forgotten, of which 2 of the ones in which I dwelt very well were the ones that were coming out today... So I practically was prepared in excess. But what benefited some people is their urge for info. Heard some people even went there yest. Smart move as far as I am concern... The only thing I see here is that some people were just unlucky, to have been the first to write yest. I concur with the motion moved by my fellow nairalander honourable that the first batch of yest should be preferentially treated. Point being, u couldnt have stopped the info from going out to those that wanted it.. Instead of blaming the test people, why not share the blame also to the candidates, that would come out and be givin the exact questions out. last last info is key. at this point I tink its paramount to give 3 gbosa to nairaland, some of us for read current affairs die ad nor open one course material... Finally please oo, u people shldnt forget or assume today was rosey ooooo, abeeeeg. people were sstill knocked off their feet. I agree with your assertions but looking at the line in bold-face, Its the responsibility of the test administrators to work out the modalities. We should never accept low standards. Luck should not play a key role if the process should be fair to all. |

ethene: Then as one who believes in equality and fairness I urge u to discontinue with this scholarship process I.e if ur called for interview don't go because u had unfair advantage over others at least av seen people return their waec cert because they cheated when they wrote it. So stop being hypocritical here; lest I forget ur score of 41 is 98% not taking u to anywhere, so stop mocking people here and being happy inside thinking u already have the scholarship award. NDDC scholarship is not transparent simple I know some may want to quote me wrong. @bro ethene. I'm sorry if I offended you. The problem wit us in Nigeria is allowing "sentiment" to becloud our sense of reasoning. I only want the organisers to sit up,a few more lines of code would have totally solved the issue. This is their second year, by now they should have a more robust test engine.. Im a tech person, believe me I dont like seeing things done shabily. For your info im not critical about the scholarship. |

misterkay: So, let me be clear. Are you angry that you scored 41? Call Godson to set a separate exam for you na. I just wish we could do things better. My score is not an issue, equality and fairness is more important. considering the fact that I was already aware of everytin that happened the previous day, take it or leave it, it influenced my performance. I look forward to 50/50 tomorrow, then you will understand my point. |

NairaSea23: The way and manner things are done in this our country it's so pathetic. How can an exam for post graduate students be this poorly conducted? The consultants did a very poor job. 1. The questions are poorly constructed. Many repeated. 2. Questions are selected from specific area. Narrowed to one part of a field. E.g for agric, if you read soil, mineral contents of soil and all this amonification, nitrification, soil profile, symbiosis, you will score nothing less than 40. I don't know how lazy the examiners are that they can't draw up questions from different subjects in the various fields 3. Unlike standard exams like GRE or GMAT, the question base for each field is too small may be only 50. This means every one in Engineering will do same test on different days giving undue advantage to people in later dayz. The number of questions should be nothing less than 500 to be randomly pick by the system. 4. Most of the invigilators are students of RSUST and the can be easily influence to inflate score for as low as 2k. This happened right beside me. I hope the organisers will pick the scores directly from the server. Better still the data should be handed over to NDDC.
I just dey para... For my 35 Pathetic is an understatement. I scored 41 in the yeye test but I am disappointed at the administrators of the test and I think it is not a fair process to all. Having sat for various standardised tests and foreign exams, this is the worst organised test ever(in my opinion). I think NDDC consulted these people either because of man-know-man or lack of funds to hire experienced professionals (oh! I understand they're cutting cost). This is suppose to be an ability test that will present well-grounded graduates to proceed for postgraduate study, How can you explain repeating one question 5 times. A rookie programmer would have fixed that bug. As if thats not enough, my question was full of capacitance and inductance as if I studied capacitance engineering. I will personally contact Mrs Tari on this matter, its not by force to write exam, afterall postume was cancelled. C'mon, this can be better! |

Please anyone one with PQ should email to nelsonwithu@yahoo.com, it would be well appreciated. since i asked for AOC, no one answered. Thats y i kept quiet. Im sure some people on this thread have info they're hoarding. Thats d difference between we blacks and whites. Lets just trust our guts and pray that God should guide us aright. **Here's my guess:: lets try out questions from our various fields since the test is split into different days. They wont want 2 put some people at advantage if the format is same all thru. dats just a guess though. also some current affairs, general knowledge from last years, and simple english idioms and all. #hoping for the best |

solleypee: My suggestion is research Nigeria current affairs: present ministers... then if they follow last test pattern, the questions would be designed according to the specialization u r going for e.g IT / Engineering / Geology / Medicine ... in addition to general verbal reasoning and NDDC profile questions like what year was it established, who are its current administrators and so on. All d best. Cheers!!! exactly what I was thinkin. |

MipoT: Let me start with
This is because I am on my way home from alagomeji, yaba where I had my test. It was successful and very stretching but hey...
The exam was extremely primary school... Ratios, percentages, circumference , area of square and rectangle. I saw this in someone's comment here on Nairaland and I followed tru. So I picked up my primary text book and it was worth d investment. U can't pass if u were reading like its a masters test. So don't underestimate d power of simplicity.
The interview was also interesting and the first question the interviewer asked me was very personal and unexpected... "Have you also sacked your boyfriend?" ... Afterwards it was easy to flow with him and it was really fine...
We got to take cocacola and biscuit and that's what you should know.
My fellow Access bank friends... We were 25, that took d test and only about 9 of us did d interview.. Once again don't underestimate simplicity..
Love you all true talk... Actually the simplest test I hav taken so far |
