It is now vaccinated against coccidiosis from day one. Request for that when ordering.

So no need to buy anticocci through out their life time

Is scent leaf harmful to birds when they eat it? We have in the compound, very close to their pen. Whenever I open their door they always rush to eat it.

Not harmful bro, in fact it is one of the leaves used in organic farming.

My major prob now is their legs can't really withstand their weight. I have bought Utra Cal-D. I hope it helps. About three are already down and can't stand again. Hope they get up soon.

I said till I weigh them, I got the scale today.. Why do people say females produce more meat.. The heaviest of the females weighed 3.8

The 20kg weight measure was bought at 4000 naira don't know if I was cheated..

So I bought weight scale today, adjusted to 0kg after screwing and placing the weight pan.. The biggest weight was 4.8 and 4.9...some are 3kg, 3.4, 3.5 as well as 3.9kgs.. I will upload pics when network permits me...

I got the E.S.T mix this evening and administered it but there is sad news for all of us at home, we recorded our first ever loss during the rearing of a poultry.

Before I came back, the first isolated noiler this morning gave up the ghost and surprisingly it was hopping up and down this afternoon when I went out and was very lively.

The second isolated one refused taking water and food, so we force fed it with a 250ml spoon.
We went out and came back around 7pm and met it dead too.

The third isolated one actually was not very weak and the popo was actually watery normal looking faeces so we let it join others in the house.

We are still blaming ourselves as we believe the three week old litre from the pen house we used for manure in our garden actually caused their deaths.

Tomorrow morning I will update again.

After 37 days, we now have 49 noilers only out of 51 alive. It's sad news for us but also a learning experience to not ignore little mistakes like we just made.

It is well...

Birds are 12weeks, it has not been that pleasant up till now.. Some weigh heavily whereas others are like feathers packed together.

I don't want to argue with you, for you to say 500 broilers will eat 40-45 bags in the first 4 weeks, it is obvious to me you are not a farmer.

I used 4bags for 100broilers in 4weeks..

I called Amo farms today to ask about their recommendation of feed type for noilers and this is what the lady told me

Males
0-28 days = broiler starter
29-70 days= grower
Above 70 days= finisher

Females
0-28 days = broiler starter
29-98 days= grower
Above 98 days= layer mash

The females start laying from the 17th week.

This means separately the males and females from the 10th week (70 days). Thats plenty stress in my opinion.
