I hope your engine RPM is no too low,and your car isn't misfiring.
If all those things above are intact,check the fuse and magnetic coil relay.

Thanks for the effort sir. Its been fixed already, A socket connected to the A.C hose was removed in the course of the engine wash. Infact, if I had opened the bonnet to check, I would have found it . It didn't take 2 seconds for the technician to fix it.

Good morning Mosbus. I did a general wash on my car yesterday and the engine bay was washed too. While driving out of the carwash, I discovered my A.C stopped working . No light is blinking, the fan is blowing but not discharging refrigerant. A Toyota Matrix 2003.

I will recommend to every Toyota owner to use Motul energy 5w30 API SL. That is what Toyota recommends for your car. Infinity tyres in Apapa are selling this oil.Toyota never recommends petrol and diesel oils for their cars. All Toyota cars have the starburst logo of gasoline engines, energy conserving. Total, Mobil and Oando and others are petrol and diesel oils .I have been experiencing the shortage of oil with Mobil 1 API SN on cars that requires API SL and even though they said API SN is backward compatible, Mobil especially shorts oil. Using Castrol Edge in Black or gold gallon is different. The oil remains and no shortage even after 6 months. So I will advise that you use any API SL engine oil that is 5w30 according to the requirement and specifications of the manufacturer. Newer models uses API SN but if your car requires Api SL, use API SL variant of the engine oil.

I honestly agree with Mobil 1 oil shortage after some time . I have experienced it twice . However , please can you be specific on the brand that is best compatible and won’t short oil.

Everything I wrote above is from practical experience. I don't think Corolla has more balance. I've driven Matrix on up to 5 hour inter-state journeys on good and bad roads, sometimes speeding up to 130-140km/hour and the car still maintains its balance. Buy the matrix. You will never regret it.

You can say that again. It’s fairly balanced, even on interstate road speed of 160-170 km/h. You won’t feel it.
I drive one, based on experience so far, you won’t regret it.

I hope other car talk enthusiast and guru drop more input so amateurs like us can learn.

My car had the check engine light, I was told it would leave once I do the maintenance servicing but it didn't even after doing so. Meanwhile, when idle, it doesn't run smoothly, it vibrates a little bit but obviously noticeable and it seem to be consuming fuel than normal .I purchased an OBD II Bluetooth scanner and ran a scan . The following codes were detected . P0171, P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304.
I texted Gazzuz On WhatsApp at about 9.45pm with the codes , I was really bothered and couldn't wait till morning as I would be traveling soon. He replied early this morning at about 5.40am. He explained what was wrong and asked me to take a picture of the engine , I guess I could take a satisfactory picture, so he asked the question , "are you in Lagos", then I knew salvation was coming my way, I answered "yes sir" and he simply said, when you are free come around. I called my boss I would be getting to work later. I began the journey there, I missed my way a few times but that's because I am not so vast with roads I don't ply regularly and google map decided to play some tricks on me, eventually, I got to the Angel's paradise . I knocked the gate and it was opened , I asked for Gazzuzz and the man who opened the gate pointed to a light skinned man, drove into the workshop compound .I introduced myself and he remembered once, I thanked him for being professional and prompt with the Engine oil delivery I purchase last week. I was expecting an egocentric man so I was ready for the worse , instead a simple and ever willing to assist man laughed with me and immediately opened the hood and brought out his tool, in a minute , he did his magic on my car and my car received the divine Angelic touch, immediately it was healed of all ailment . I didn't even spend 5 minutes there .
I am sorry if anyone has a contrary opinion about him, but this man has won my heart and loyalty . He is truly an Angel

N.B. I branched at the supermarket on my way there and got 3 bottles of Origin to appease the gods, but baba has turned a new leaf . He doesn't drink Origin anymore . He gave it to his men. Lest I forget, I didn’t pay a penny .

And when I said filter, I did not mean the screen attached to the fuel pump.

Sorry for the inconvience sir.

The first code P0171 implies the your engine management system is either having a serious restriction in your fuel supply system or you have a vacuum leak . this means your ecu is trying to compensate for this by adding more fuel( increasing injector/nozzle pulse width) and its threshold has been exceeded.

Check the following areas( in the following order)
1. Ensure all vacuum lines are connected and not leaking anywhere. Ensure you are not hearing any 'hissing' noise.
2. Check and ensure your fuel filter is not clogged. The ideal way to check this is by hooking up a pressure gauge in series to the fuel line. The other way is by removing the fuel pump assembly( from the fuel tank ) and separate and visually inspect the fuel filter
3.ensure you do not have leaks in your exhaust system ( particularly before the air/fuel ratio sensor).

The remaining misfire code ( misfire on all cylinders ) would imply a compromise in your fuel supply system. There may be dirt your system which might have been as a result of point 2 above and the lean code( P0171). Please note that a misfire can be caused by many things, but in this case, I would seriously look at your fuel supply system.

My advice? After point 1 has been investigated, replace your fuel filter or better, your fuel pump assembly.

I think it is the first option of restriction in the fuel supplied cos of how it struggles to stay ON when in Idle .i notice it’s been guzzling fuel too. I just serviced with recommended fuel filter, so I don’t think the fuel filter is the issue .
But, I am not tech savvy. I don’t know what to do.

These are the codes detected . Please, what is to be done .

Sorry sir for the late response.
For your check engine light to be on, it means there is something wrong in your emissions system or power-train.
Changing engine oil may not necessarily turn it off. I suggest you go for a scan to let us know exactly what the problem is.

Mobil 1 full synthetic . The light isn’t still off and I noticed when it is idling, there is a really slight vibration. I don’t have a scanner but I just want to know the possible causes till I get a competent mechanic shop to take it

The matrix shares similar components and chasis with the corolla. Maintenance is basically the same, mechanically.
Security? Well it is a Toyota, it is hotcake so, you understand
The basic advantage the matrix has over the corrola is the boot capacity since it has a lift back instead of the traditional boot.
Also, some come in 4wd variants and higher ground clearance.

Thanks for the response. I was told the matrix security system isn’t as porous as the corolla (Brainbox theft and complete theft) then I was told the Canadian 4wd isn’t advisable, more like some trims are less prone to defect than the others . I just want to gather all the information I can before taking the decision .
