Islam is the fastest growing religion in Europe! |
[quote author=SpecialAdviser post=65398010]The reasons why Muslims have population is three; 1) they marry more than 1 wife and breed children irrespective of the social implications 2) they spread faith with violence and force although such method has reduced recently 3) they are strict with proselytization hence preventing cross over. That notwithstanding, the population of Christians are more at 2.5 billion as against Muslim 1.5billion. Google is ur friend. However, we must acknowledge that Christians have been too relaxed in professing their faith lately due to the rise of atheism championed by Illuminati movement. Christians hail musicians and celebrities destroying morality in d name of fame without asking questions. All the same, gate of hell shall never prevail against the church. One thing I have never doubted is that God has a special love for Christians. If for nothing, they are peaceful.[/quo How peaceful are the Christians? SLAVE TRADERS under the guise of Christianity plundered Africa so terribly, and decimated its population so shamefully. How about the LORD RESISTANCE ARMY ,the boko haram of Christianity? |
Cyynthialove:You're one of the "sheeple". That's painfully why you can't get your thinking cap. Truth is all that will remain after everything else has perished. |
pressplay411:How painful is the truth? How bitter is it? |
Something like this is meant to provoke your thoughts as Christian. The Bishop has said the truth and the good thing is that it is VERIFIABLE. Interfaith dialogue is still the way to go. #Christians go to church on Sundays even as there is no chapter in the Bible explicitly mentioning "SUNDAY". In the Quran, however, Surah Jumuah tells us the importance of our CONGREGATIONAL prayer every FRIDAY. Catholics go to Rome for pilgrimage. Those who are not Catholics go to Jerusalem. Unfortunately, there is no chapter in the bible that supports that. Muslims go to Mecca once or more than once in a life time. Surah Hajj in the Quran comes to mind. Is anyone still asking why Islam is growing in Europe ? |
Five ways to get banned from Facebook For users who struggle to spend more than a few hours away from Facebook, a lifetime ban from the social network might seem like a harsh measure, but it may surprise you to learn that many of us are already sailing close to the wind, by unknowingly flouting some of the site's most important rules. Here are five ways that you could get banned from Facebook. 1. USING A FALSE NAME A quick scan through your Facebook "friends list" is bound to reveal at least one alter ego or alias. But while adding a little color to your name may seem rather innocuous, it could potentially cause your account to be banned or even deleted completely. According to the Facebook community standards , a user claiming to be another person, creating multiple accounts, or falsely representing an organization is in violation of Facebook's terms of use. So, while a small name change may not automatically result in a ban, posting the wrong alias could have serious consequences. 2. POSTING COPYRIGHTED DOCUMENTS Facebook states its users are prohibited from posting copyrighted or trademarked content on the site without prior permission. That said, many users post copyrighted content on their Facebook pages every day without ever drawing the ire of the site's administrators. Currently this remains something of a grey area for the site's users, says Robert Siciliano, online security evangelist for McAfee. Siciliano says Facebook and just about every other website are always under pressure from media companies to scrub their sites of copywritten content. "These companies rely on users or the media companies to complain and bring attention to it," Siciliano says, adding that there are different regulations set by different countries.Despite these uncertainties, it's important to keep in mind that uploading a song, YouTube video or other copyrighted material onto your Facebook page could potentially result in a lifetime ban. 3. ADDING TOO MANY FRIENDS Sending out scores of friend requests might seem fairly normal. After all, the object of Facebook is to build a network of online connections by adding "friends" to your account. However, overzealous users might find themselves with a ban if they send out too many friend requests over a short period. This serial friend requesting is a classic sign of a spammer, and so can potentially send up a red flag to the site's administrator, compelling them to pull the plug on your Facebook account. 4. UPLOADING OBSCENE MATERIAL. It may seem like a no-brainer, but all too often, users have been expelled from Facebook for uploading lewd or inappropriate photos and videos to their page. Whether it's embedding an unsavory video on your wall or uploading obscene material to a photo album, breaking Facebook's strict policies about unsuitable content will likely lead to a lifetime ban. 5. UNWELCOME PROMOTION At some point, we've all been the victim of extensive promotion campaigns from a friend or organization plugging their latest event or product. While it probably won't apply to the average user, businesses or agencies that use Facebook as a marketing tool can easily find themselves banned for breaking the site's guidelines on promotions. Although promoting to "friends" or "followers" is usually considered acceptable, the site's community standards page specifies that users should not be contacted for commercial purposes without their approval. #FoxNews. |

Africa could never have been as depicted in this movie, it's utterly impossible . Thanks in large part to the fact that it is science fiction. But there are still those who are already consumed by this make-believe as to now think that technology is the result of mere wishes ,unrealistic wishes, written on papers. Please wake up! |

Can The Black Panther(movie)Balance The Equation? I'm pro-Africa if what it takes is to be realistic to a fault and being able to see the world with clarity . Whatever should lead anyone who identities with the campaign to elevate the African history to exchange facts for fiction is beyond me ,but I do have an idea of the predetermination of our race to be free from racial affronts, whatever the price. When yesterday the news reached me of the release of the much anticipated Black Panther movie , I first gulped a glass of cold water and prepared a short note for a philosophy forum on Facebook. My object is clear,to have philosophers discuss the possible effects, if any,of this movie on the psyche of a race . At the heart of this note was the question of whether the world will now dignify the black race or continue to spoonfeed it in the typical liberal fashion of the old and new America.(African Americans need true equality ;paper equality is useless),and so far I have yet to conclude that afrofuturism will prove Donald Trump wrong . Moreover, that the US is now ,as it has been for decades, the rim of pan-africanism is nothing for astonishment . First it was Haiti with the triumph of the black slaves over their colonial masters . It was in Haiti that evocative pan Africanism first developed before it later spread across the globe and took root such places as Ghana, Burkina Faso,Guinea, Nigeria ,Mozambique etc. For failing to curb the lingering inequality within its boarders ,the US has a price to pay and it may have been that the over policing of the African American communities is outgrowth of such failure. For how long does Uncle Tom have to live in fear of a black revolution? Forever? The Black Panther movie is a science fiction in which a systematically flawed portrayal of black Africa is reached, though not in all cases. The Africa of this movie is African American and because of this its objective to celebrate BLACK SUPREMACY is partly defeated. Need I mention that Captain America is an example of a patriotic American marvel movie which moralises it? There is German parallel,of course, with the same objective. Finally, I no longer think it is possible to imagine a world without racism and reverse racism as it is the trend currently. Franz Fanon remarked that the white man is trapped by his superiority complex, just as much as the black man is not able to overcome his inferiority complex. The superiority complex of the white man is hidden in racism ,while the inferiority complex of the black man is not measuring up to the white man. Hence the need for historical reconstruction or reverse racism that may be the equation the Black Panther seeks to balance. Will it achieve this feat? LJ |
Do Burning Issues Call For Nation Burning? (To Prof. Farooq Kperoogi) Searing public confidence has unavoidably become your pass time which is why I have decided to squash my respect for you. Whatever should lead a man of worth to dishonour his credentials by associating with muck rackers is strange news. But to think that the same thing will be said of a nondescript citizen of this country who trades banters for fame is a waste of time. We have a country that has not, until now,had the merit of having a man of integrity occupy its highest office. This,if given a careful thought, is the most important event in the life of our once fledgling democracy. What has happened to a decent tactful criticism of government policies ? Do burning issues call for nation burning? |
1.Germany was the first country in the world to adopt Daylight saving time – DST, also known as summer time. This occured in 1916 in the midst of WWI and was put in place to conserve energy. 2. The capital of Berlin has more bridges than Venice – Berlin boasts 960 bridges and 59.8 square kilometres of water consisting of lakes and around 180 kilometres of navigable waterways. Combined with its surrounding state Brandenburg, it houses Europe's largest inland water network. 3. Prison escape is not punishable by law in Germany – German law maintains that it’s a basic human instinct to be free and therefore, prisoners have the right to escape jail. Escapes, however, rarely go unpunished because prisoners are held liable if they cause damage to property or inflict bodily harm against any individual upon their breakout. 4. It’s illegal to run out of fuel in the German Autobahn – although not forbidden, motorists are only allowed to stop in the legendary highway for emergencies and having an empty tank of gas is not. Drivers can be fined and also have their licenses suspended for up to six months. Walking or running in the highway system is also illegal and is punishable by a fine of around EUR 90. 5. Germany has legal say on what babies can be named – German law ban names that don’t denote a gender or use a family name as a first name. In 2014, the most popular children's names were Sophie/Sofie for a girl and Maximilian for a boy. 6. Fanta originated in Germany as a result of the Second World War – due to a trade embargo that prevented importing Coca-Cola syrup into Germany, the head of Coca-Cola in the country decided to create a domestic product for the market using available ‘leftover’ products like whey and apple pomace. It’s the second oldest brand of the Coca-Cola Company and its second most popular drink outside of the United States. It’s consumed 130 million times every day around the world. 7. College education in Germany is free even for internationals – tuition fees for bachelor’s degrees in public universities was abolished in 2014 due to politicians thinking that having to pay for higher education as ‘socially unjust’. 8. Over 800 million currywurst are eaten in Germany each year – currywurst is a sausage served with a spicy sauce, and is a street food that has become a cult classic in Germany. About 7 million currywurst are eated in Berlin alone. There's even a museum in Berlin dedicated to the popular snack. 9. Germany was once a cluster of small kingdoms, duchies and principalities – which were unified as the German Reich (Deutsches Reich ) in 1871. Later it became the Weimar Republic, the Third Reich (National Socialism), and in 1949 the nation divided into the Soviet-supported East Germany (German Democratic Republic) and the democratic West Germany (Federal Republic of Germany). On October 3rd 1990, East and West were reunited. 10. German remains the language with the most native speakers in Europe – besides Germany having the largest population in the EU, the German language was once the lingua franca of central, eastern and northern Europe. 11. Germany's capital centre has shifted seven times – these cities have all at one time or another been capitals of modern-day German territory: Aachen (during the Carolingian Empire), Regensburg, Frankfurt-am-Main, Nuremberg, Berlin, Weimar (unofficially, during unrest in Berlin), Bonn (and East Berlin), and, since 1990, Berlin again. 12. Germany is sometimes known as ‘the land of poets and thinkers' – or das land de dichter und denker; Bach, Beethoven and Goethe were all German, alongside composers Händel, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Wagner and R. Strauss. Some of the world's greatest German philosophers include Kant, Hegel, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, and Heidegger. 13. Munich is the second most punctual large airport in the world – out of the category of large airports, only Tokyo is more punctual, according to an OAG report. 14. Germany boasts some of world's most famous inventions – you can thank the Germans for the light bulb, the automated calculator, and the automobile. That's not all – the Germans are also credited for the discovery of insulin, the invention of the clarinet, the pocket watch, television (partly), paraffin, petrol/gasoline & Diesel engines, the automobile engine, differential gear and other important devices, the motorcycle, the jet engine, the LCD screen and the Walkman. 15. Germany has the largest population in the EU but it's in decline – the population of Germany is around 80.9 million, with 3.4 million people living in the capital Berlin. Yet two out of five households are single-person households. Germany also has one of the lowest birthrates in the world, and the government expects the population to drop to 67 million by 2060. On average, German women give birth to their first child at 29 years old and statistically have 1.4 children, with about a third being single mothers. 16. Germany is the second most popular expat destination in the world – the country was ranked as number two by both the OECD and the Migration Policy Institute . Most immigrants are from Europe, with the top three foreign nationalities being Turkish, Polish and Italian. The immigrant workforce helps cushion the effects of Germany’s low birth rate, rising life expectancy and aging society; the UN predicts the number of Germans in the workplace will fall to 54 percent by 2030. 17. Germany is rated highly as a place to grow old – life expectancy in Germany is almost 81 years (one year higher than the OEDC average) – 83 for women and 78 for men – and just over 26 percent of the population is currently over 60. Germany is a good place to retire: it ranks fourth (out of 96 countries) in the Global AgeWatch Index 2015 for wellbeing amongst the elderly. 18. Berlin's Zoologischer Garten is the largest zoo in the world – Germany also boasts more than 400 registered zoos. Including zoological gardens, wildlife parks, aquariums, bird parks, animal reserves, or safari parkstotal, Germany has nearly 700 facilities. 19. Germany's education system produces top performers – students score higher than average on the OECD's PISA scale, and 86 percent of adults aged 25–64 have completed at least upper secondary education (equivalent of a high school diploma). That's well above the EU average of 74.2 percent. 20. Germany has high levels of employment – in 2016, more than half of people aged 15–64 had a paid job (43.3m people) and unemployment dipped to a record low of 4.2 percent. Youth unemployment was also one of the lowest in the EU at 7.7 percent. Men are primarily in full-time work, while women, especially those with pre-school children, often work part-time. However, Germany only adopted a minimum wage in 2015 for the first time. |
Ugosample:That's all the average Nigerian is good at. |
Facts About Slavery. As far back as the 16th century African states were engaged in relentless wars for slaves. A ruler in the 16th century Congo had an army of 20,000 slaves. There were villages or settlements solely inhabited by slaves in Ghana. Slavery in Yoruba land was an extension of lineage or authority . Kings and chiefs were entitled to as many slaves as they desired. Owning slaves was an index of prestige in Yoruba land. Slaves were traded for firearms/gunpowder. European slave trade lead to African Diaspora. The Sub-Saharan trade route was controlled by Arab slave traders. Slave labour produced agricultural surplus. Bini Kingdom was massively plundered by Europeans during this era. Slavery destroyed the dignity of black people the world over. |
rotexteymie:Will that harm you? Or you're just green with envy? |
trustyshoess:It is very much Everest how dumb people could be. So now you're saying that the Chinese are suffering INFERIORITY COMPLEX by not dressing in their Chinese robes in business and public institutions? |
Those silly people who say IDENTITY CRISIS or INFERIORITY COMPLEX directly accounts for the backwardness of Africa have unwittingly exhibited bad reasoning. Is it logical to say that any race to achieve greatness must exhibit SUPERIORITY COMPLEX or be drunk with IDENTITY? There is nothing to label as inferiority complex but stupidity. |
Elxandre:And you seem to wonder why Nigeria is a very backward country. Do these people who are engaged in a shouting match think all that matters is culture? Is Africa more ancient than the rest of the world? |
As for the mode of appearance there is very little to call the pride of belonging, albeit it appears to originate in that . The very repugnant emphasis on culture that is largely taken as an index of uniqueness or a sine quo non for cultural distinction is hateful and divisive . It gives tribalism a place to thrive. There is nothing recent in my respect for the Chinese. They are VERY ANCIENT yet VERY MODERN, and not very much emphasis is given to primitivity because not one but all cultures in the world emerged from that very condition. But here in Africa the height of bad reasoning is when everyone begins to showcase his differences to the very extent of comparison . This mentality is bad ,and must be corrected. |
That same year ,in order to further HUMILIATE & BELITTLE the person of Bode Thomas ,the Alaafin's son ,AREMO contracted a small group of thugs(Emphasis on personal thugs),to attack Bode Thomas with black magic(The Aremo had vowed to deal with him thoroughly ). So ,who was arrogant and driven by power ? It is a curse that an average Yoruba doesn't know what humility is all about. Even you have shown nothing but a HYPOCRITICAL HUMILITY . It was confirmed that those thugs fixed the black magic on Bode Thomas and that led to his death afterward. The Aremo too was to die or be killed in a mysterious circumstance that is open to guesses. That's what gave Oba Lamidi of today the opportunity to mount the throne as Alaafin. Aremo was his elder brother and heir apparent. So what happened to Oba Adeniran? He was deposed and exiled to Lagos where he died . Body Thomas was a great loss to us. |
You're a terrible liar. You have failed to fact check your story before publishing it,and that's the pitfall into which you have fallen. Now let's see who has the correct version of the story. First be informed that there was a political rivalry or animosity between the government of the day led by Awo and the powerful elites of Oyo(egged on by Oba Adeniran). This rivalry manifested itself in high offices and political patronage . Late Awolowo in his book (I can't remember the title)gave a vivid explanation of the faceoff between Alafin and Bode Thomas and ended up vindicating Bode Thomas for his calm disposition and humility. The Alaafin was queried by the Council for what was described as an uncivilised show of power, for his arrogance if you care to reason. Another verifiable source of my story came from an Old man who was there when it all happened. That event trended so much at that time. So where did you dig your story from? |
This country has brought dishonor to humanity . |
Imagine being able to feel everything another person is feeling - their pleasure and their pain. Or being convinced, despite all evidence to the contrary, that you're dead. These are just a few of the strange brain disorders that have plagued a rare set of people over the years. Oliver Sacks' classic book The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat introduced us to some of the strangest brain disorders people suffer from, but that's only the tip of the iceberg. Here are a few of the most bizarre mental conditions out there. 1. Cotard's syndrome: this disorder makes people think that they're dead. Mr. B was a 65-year-old retired teacher with no family history of mental illness, when he suddenly began having sad moods, stopped being able to feel pleasure, slept and ate less, and developed feelings of worthlessness. He later started having delusions that his organs had stopped working and his house was going to fall down. After an attempted suicide, he started believing he was dead. This man suffered from a condition known as Cotard's syndrome (or Walking corpse syndrome), in which a patient thinks he or she is dead. Counterintuitively, in more than half of cases, these patients also think they are immortal. Treatment for the condition can include antidepressant or antipsychotic drugs, or electroconvulsive therapy. 2. Prosopagnosia: some people can't remember others' faces. The writer and neurologist Oliver Sacks recounts the story of a man who "mistook his wife for a hat". He suffered from a condition where he couldn't recognise faces, known as prosopagnosia , or face blindness. (Sacks himself has a moderate version of the condition.) Depending on how severe the case, a person may have a hard time recognising just familiar faces, telling strangers' faces apart, or even telling a face apart from an object. Some people with prosopagnosia can't even recognise their own face. The condition is usually caused by stroke, but as much as 2.5 percent of people may be born with it. 3. Mirror-touch synaesthesia: this disorder makes people feel what other people are feeling. On an episodes of the NPR show, Invisibilia , a woman who wished to remain anonymous reported that when she sees people being hugged, she feels like she's getting a hug herself. When she sees someone get hurt, she feels pain in the same place as they do. And she can't watch people eat, because she feels like they're shoving food in her mouth. Amanda suffers from a rare condition called mirror-touch synesthesia that makes her able to physically 'feel' what others around her are feeling. Although she was born this way, other people have acquired the ability after having a stroke, or a limb amputated (which can lead to sensations in a 'phantom' limb ). The first case of this condition was reported in 2005 , and there have only been a handful of other reports since then. 4. Capgras delusion: people with this condition think a loved one has been replaced by an imposter. After giving birth, a 36-year-old woman developed the delusion that her son and other family members had been replaced by imposters. The delusion persisted for five years, and every treatment doctors tried failed. Finally, the woman was given electroconvulsive therapy (in which electrical shocks are passed through the brain to induce a seizure), and her psychiatric symptoms subsided. The woman suffered from what is known as the Capgras delusion or Capgras syndrome, where you think loved ones have been substituted by imposters, robots or aliens. It usually occurs in patients with paranoid schizophrenia, but has also been seen in patients with a brain injury or dementia. It's also more common in women than men (by a ratio of 3:2). 5. Alien hand syndrome: some people are convinced their hand doesn't belong to them. An 82-year-old woman suffered a stroke, and upon recovering about six weeks later, she reported that her left arm did not belong to her. Instead, she was convinced the limb belonged to her brother, who had been with her when she experienced the stroke. She felt as if the arm would not do what she wanted it to do. This was a case of alien hand syndrome, a rare disorder. culled from : www.sciencealert.com |
Hegel was probably the only rational racist philosopher who aptly captured in an obscure writing the soul of the black man. |
How does one expect a country,as terribly afflicted as ours,to make progress in the middle of what appears to be a massive psychological dysfunction? Thesis don't necessary have to explain why the average Nigerian is below normal or average intelligence, as there is abundant evidence of such dimwittedness on the social media. It is the customary behaviour of the average Nigerian to approach sensitive issues unintelligently so that what is obviously an intellectual issue is reduced to tribal slurs . The virtue of decency and the sense of gentlemanliness are not to be associated with him. |
