baba11:not exactly, being recalcitrant isn't her character. she was just determined to have her way on this particular issue. |
baba11:she is my hero when it comes to marriage issues because hers was the true love story. |
this piece really exposes the real situation on ground.'husband scarcity' isn't an issue that came out of the blue, it gradually developed to this catastrophic nature. thanks to SOME materially-minded ladies who feel that love is directly proportional to money. I liked her statement about marriage not being a poverty alleviation program. it reminds me of an incident that happened right here in my family.... It all began when zarah my cousin came back from her studies abroad. and everyone knew marriage was the next step for her. But what they didn't see coming was her choice of husband material. they actually thought she was also going to go in search of a ready made husband. but she deviated from that line of thought. she brought home Umar. so let me summarize the story: 1. zarah was kanuri/shuwa Arab by tribe and Umar was an igbira man. 2. zarah was 'London educated' as they put it and Umar graduated from one of own Nigerian universities. 3. zarah who was a pharmacist was working with one of the pharmaceutical companies in kano and Umar was a hardworking small scale business man. 4 zarah was pretty and Umar was an average.(yes they made that a criteria) All hell broke loose among the women clan of our family.their reasons were that due to 1 tribal difference was too much the highest they could tolerate was a Fulani man apart from that no one else not even a Hausa man.(#tribalism) 2 how can she come back from London and marry someone who has never crossed our borders? they said he hasn't even gone for hajj(#materialism) 3 you earn more than him so you are going to be the bread winner 4 he is not so presentable at social events ...just imagine poor zarah it took all the fight in her coupled with our male elders rational thinking for her to get married. they( the women) were so busy looking for Mr right that they couldn't see how rare a man Umar was.he was hardworking, honest, morally upright and extremely religious.he has one of the Best character I have seen in few men....he is an awesome cook. At the end she is happily married with two kids and they are still searching.... |

first of all UAE is not a Muslim country, its a country with a predominantly Muslim population but its system of government and policy making is not Islamic. And to your allegations: what is terror? how do the Emirates define terror? that 'certain criteria' which they used was it fair and principled or was it bias and unethical? and why wouldn't the list and the criteria be subject to scrutiny especially when it seems to have a fishy agenda? personally I don't consider the USA as my marker to labelling people and groups. they are neither saints nor do they have a clean history to be jurors.besides their bone of contention as regards to the middle east always arises when they do not see eye to eye in policy making. so are we now to just brand an organization like CAIR as a terror group just because our instinct and pseudo-psychological tink tanks believe that they are capable of degenerating to terror ? my answer to above is no.we don't because we judge base on what we see not some some wish washy feeling. As regards to their members allegations that is an individual action so should be treated as such and appropraite measures should be taken if found "guilty". And you kept mentioning CAIR as I recall there were over 70 groups for what crime were the other good ones on the list for? from your post I can see you are a Muslim; my advice: Rasullullah s.a.w said ;do not think bad of your fellow Muslims unless they do something wrong. I agree with you on the fact that not all terrorists are born terrorists but we need to take the right steps to ensure they are not being radicalized.and that will be another discussion entirely.......... |
^beautiful post. may Allah s.w.t help us all in our respective acts of ibadah. Ameen. but there's a slight correction to your post. the Witr prayer is not compulsory. Although there is a school of thought that think it is compulsory. But based on hadith which stated that a man asked Rasullullah (saw) if he prays his 5 obligatory salats and observed the other four pillars of Islam and does nothing else if he will enter jannah , Rasullullah (saw) replied yes. if it were compulsory, He (saw) will have told him so. But the Witr prayer is a strongly recommended nawafil because of a lot of hadiths which were reported that Rasulullah performed the Witr prayer and praised those who performed it. And it's also recommended going by the hadith which says "Allah is odd, and He loves the odd." Allah knows Best. Salam. |

please remain strong, sickness doesn't always equate to death. keep reciting on him this: "Adh-hibil-ba-sa Rab-bin-nas. Ishfi antash-shafi, la shifaa il-la shifauka, shifa'an La yughadiru suqman" "Remove this pain, O Lord of mankind and heal. You are the Healer. There is no healing except Yours; a healing that will not leave behind any ailment" |
