Mr. naptu2 , thank you for this side of the story, the narrative always changes as time goes by, but reading this from you an eyewitness makes me understand the politics at play during the genocide. Rwanda was basically left to her fate, accusatory fingers should be pointed at all actors, the best description of the debacle was that international politics trumped humanitarian consciousness. US - visited the sins of Somalia on Rwanda by choosing to ignore them. I see history repeating itself, if selfish interests are still pursued first in the ongoing wars. That's why I always reiterate to people don't clamour for war, it consumes so much and its fate spiral so out of control for the instigators. |
Holluwaphlexy:Hmmm, war consumes everyone the guilty, the innocent and the undecided.... Only the foolish clamour for it. |
michaelwilli:Honestly, What really bothers me about all these war movies is that , they are no fickle imagination, that and much worse occurred in reality. Trying to comprehend man's most brutal nature, does disturbing things to my state of mind. I believe in humanity, No matter what , we are good....those few never represent the majority. |
I never seem to get myself to finish watching the film "hotel Rwanda".... knowing art imitated life. She is a strong woman who chose forgiveness despite the hand she was dealt , I have no words to describe Mary, but she's the quintessential definition of humanity and a testimony that good people still exist. The fact that she is talking about it shows she's healing . The truth is being spoken, that's the first step to reconciliation... "Bandage don't fix bullet holes if you live like that you live with ghosts" "God will never help an unjust nation even if they are believers, but will help a just one even if they are unbelievers" I pray rwanda and every other war-ravaged country in the world find its footing. May the horrors of war never visit us again as a nation. |

" Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift....that's why it's called PRESENT"~ Master Ougway Animations are my favourite pastime, you get to relearn all those beautiful innocent lessons that the adult reality tends to take away. |
Explorers:Back then in secondary school ,I read a book "Easter Island mystery" and became fascinated . It's truly an amazing artistic feat by "the long ears" ( Polynesian tribe of easter island) to create such edifice from rocks basically with monolithic tools such as stone picks and then raise such statues using just poles, pebbles and boulders. |
jpphilips:1000 likes for this statement.... Many Nigerians ,unfortunately have short term memory, they go after the "trend" .... |
Physika:Seen. Thank you very much |
If this scenario happened in my presence... My own don finish cos it will serve as a lifetime supply of nightmares.... |
revontuli:Yes they are... Thanks dear..... |
Just when i'm celebrating two beautiful kittens that my dear cat birthed , i saw this.... I couldn't look at those pics....How can man be this cruel to cats....I can't take this so called delicacy for all the money in the world.... Cat lovers will find this thread heart wrenching...... BTW Mr explorers are you a cat lover? |
I'll stick to rice and noodles... |
No thank you.... I will forever be contented with my cats.... |
olasaad:Ameen....my sister Take away the politics and wealth associated with them.....its basically a Yoruba guy marrying a Hausa lady....that's progressive (pun intended )It goes to show that LOVE truly conquers all (tribalism, bigotry, hate etc)... May we have more love-based intertribal marriages in Nigeria in the coming years... |
Hmmm.....I see this thread and I feel like crying for my beloved Nigeria.... Where did we go wrong? Whom did we offend? Can we ever get things right? |
I wonder what her reaction will be to " HBD..... WULLNP" Our generation and intellectual laziness.... smh..... |
May you go far baby girl.... |
The Cat family are as cute as their adults..... |
Women are emotional beings, when we fall in love or go into a relationship ....we put our heart, mind and soul into it..(ofcourse there are a few exceptions)......so when we get hurt and tell our story there's the natural predisposition to identify and support our side of The story.... There's always 3 sides to a story: His side, Her side and the TRUTH.... |
Isahalbash:Haba @ishalbash everyone can be subjected to criticism but saying buhari bai yi komai ba ma tallaka is really overboard. This comment made me remember an incident in 2014...... Na je kwana gurin kakata a katsina ,lokacin sanyi ne and she is an avid listener of BBC Hausa morning segment(na asuba Mai archaic waka....lol) and on that programme their first report was an overnight attack by BH on a certain village, where they killed and slaughtered men, women and children...those lucky to escape ran into a watering place and hid.....when they were finally rescued matar DA akayi magana DA ita ,muryanta baya fita sosai dan sanyi ga zaman cikin ruwa nearly 3hrs.A lot of them drowned in the water mostly children... Ranar na yi kuka kamar idona zai fita here was I comfortably lying in my comforter while some women are losing their kids to either BH or Cold draughts. When PMB relocated the military command ko control center to borno,it stratetegically changed the dynamics of the BH war..... Now on Shiites-Nigerian army clash: I CAN NOT ABSOLVE ANY PARTY FROM BLAME , but I know this; 1) why will a set of people cordon off an important road with out prior notice and consideration of abubuwan DA ke faruwa a Zaria ranan ?Who gave them the jurisdiction to do so ![]() 2)The NA "used a sledge hammer to kill a mosquito" 3) That clash could have been averted if only both sides had exercised restraint 4) Zaria is an intellectual city with a high concentration of educational instirutions but still only just a LGA.....yan Shi'a were running a state within a LGA....kar ka manta idan suna zagaye a Zaria komai ya tsaya around their axis...so idan ka samu kanka a hanyar su sai dai ka hakura no matter the emergency... whether it is exams, childbirth, medical appointment etc dan ba Wanda ya isa ya ja DA su,za su Kira ma takfiri... Ka ga bai kamata ba,babu wannan a musulinci. 5)THE GYALLESU INCIDENT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BY A NEUTRAL THIRD PARTY AND ALL AT FAULT SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND SUBJECTED TO THE FULL WRATH OF THE LAW #MAY THE SOULS OF THE INNOCENT LOST ON BOTH SIDES REST IN PEACE....AMEEN. |
Isahalbash:A lot actually.... Allah sarki "kanuri panjinba samma samma afuno" |
