How time flies, Regina Askia used to be the biggest and most Glamorous Nollywood star back in the late 90's / early 2000's. She was the Genevieve Nnaji of those days, she and Liz Benson. Younger Nairalanders might not know her.

This was all over my Twitter TL last nite that Tiwa Savage and Davido spoiled the WOJU remix song by Kiss Daniel. And they are to apologize to d Nigerian music lovers for dis. I have listened to the song and i think Tiwa did very well in her verse likewise Davido too. U can neva please Nigerians!! To be Celebrity for dis country no easy oo lol.

director Jimmy Bangura had this to say
about the Sierra Leonean movie
industry: “In few years, people won’t be
talking about Hollywood, Bollywood or
Nollywood. People will be talking about Sollywood
in Sierra Leone”. The experienced film maker has
successfully produced and directed a few
movies that have been screened on
Africa’s popular television stations like
DSTV and MNET. His films have also been
screened on Sky Television. He was also at one
time reported to have lured A-List
Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah to
partake in a Sollywood movie. He has
also reached out to other African
countries’ film stars to help grow
Sollywood, casting them in roles in his films.
Also for a long while now, there have
been questions raised about why the
South African film industry has not join
the big movie-making business with
their own South African stories and movie
industry. But finally in the same year 2010, Actor
and Director Tiro Venter and producer)
Inda Khumalo, decided to take on the
challenge. They succeeded in making a
huge budget movie. To avoid piracy, the
movie was available exclusively at
www.sollywood.co.za , Hence the
creation and registration of South
Africa’s Sollywood.
Since then not much has been heard of
both film industries, and non has been
able to meet or measure up to the standards of
Nigeria's Nollywood nor
Ghana’s Ghollywood. But the question
remains which of these is recognized as

One thing we fail to understand is that..indigenous musik is the shii.. Can some tell two or 3 song in Nigeria that Got popular without Our local language in it.. Be it the chorus or Rap..

I can't seem to understand the media hype. Nigerian media keeps hyping this guy and i don't know why though. I am not hating oo before una throw me bomb.

I haven't seen any of the guy's movies cos i can't imagine going to the cinema to watch Nollywood movie, i will sleep for there. Most Nollywood cinema movies looks too Western. I prefer their village films. If i wan watch Western movies, i know where to find it.

So Nairalanders, why do Nigerian media hype dis guy? Is he dat good? Anybody seen his movies?

asin ehh.... There's one dat works with one of the Radio stations on d Island in Lagos, he pretends dat he cant pronounce ADEOLA ODEKU STREET in V.I meanwhile he was born and bred in Ibadan. He pronounces ADEOLA ODEKU like white people as if he has hot yam in his mouth. i vex!!!

Omo dis babe sabi sing oo and she sings in Pidgin with our Naija accent!! I was blown away!! Her vocals is on point too!! Emma Nyra murdered the song too. Her vocals is amazing!! Dis is an addictive song produced by Selebobo himself. Been overplaying it since i downloaded it. Dis Lioness Oyinbo girl go blow oo....
