CelebritiesWe Only Use Nu.dity To Sell Our Songs - Singer, Lola Rae by jiggaz(op): 10:09pm On Feb 04, 2015
Singer, Lola Rae who has been off our
radar for a while seems to have made a
come back as she has recently dropped
new singles.
The light-skinned singer who is fond of
MMMG’s Iyanya and Emma Nyra and
was at a time rumored to be in a
relationship with the former, recently
granted an interview where she talked
about her career amongst other things.
The British-Ghanaian-Nigerian star
further talks about nudity in the
Nigerian entertainment industry, her
love for music and her speculated
relationship with Iyanya.

See excerpts below..

On doing music in Nigeria:

To me, the experience is really good. And
at the same time, difficult because
sometimes you will want to give out the
best of you but there is no room for such.
I strongly believe that the entertainment
industry will find its place in terms of
structure in no time, and we will not
relent to attain a well-structured system.
I am 100per-cent ready to face the music
and the many challenges I may
encounter. I have nothing to fear. I was
born here in Nigeria and I am used to the
system. At present, I am launching my
coming back with a big bang. I am really
enthused to carve a niche for myself and
affect the industry positively. My
management is taking necessary steps to
stamp my come back on the scene.

About Iyanya:

Iyanya is a veteran in the game, he’s
done so much and he was the one that
said he wanted to feature in the song. I
was so surprised and had to ask him if
he had heard the song before and he told
me there was no problem. Right now,
Iyanya is more like a big brother to me.

On what makes her different from other
female stars:

My sound; because in my new single it
sounds as if I’m rapping but I’m not a
rapper. I’m trying to rebrand myself in
order to stand out and be unique. Also, I
will be doing more of stage performances
and not just the normal studio recording.

On nu.dity in the industry:

I don’t agree nudity is encouraging and
it’s exactly what has taken over the
entertainment industry because everybody
wants to sell his/her song. And it seems
to be working because the fans love it.
I’m not saying one should get naked but
you just have to give your fans the best.
For instance, the way I dress when going
onstage is quite different from the way I
dress on a normal day. I always like to
look sexy while performing and it’s a way
of giving my fans the best.

CelebritiesWhy I Dont Wear Pants - Baby Blanche by jiggaz(op): 10:11am On Feb 04, 2015
Due to the kind of clothes she likes to wear and
is comfortable in, Baby Blanche has revealed in an
interview with Showbiz that she hardly wears
panties when she’s going out.
“I love all kinds of lingerie that make a woman
feminine because I’m a woman, but I hardly wear
panties. This is not because I don’t want to wear
them but because the clothes I love to wear
wouldn’t permit me to,” she told Showbiz.
“I try as much as possible to act as a lady and
not to let my panty lines show just because I like
to wear dresses that hug my figure. So if I wear
clothes and the outline of my panty is glaring like
that I don’t like it,” she explained. “Being a lady
is not only about wearing make-up and Brazilian
hair but also comprises the propriety of whatever
you’re wearing,” says Baby Blanche. She adds
that she does not worry much about thoughts
that she may be sexually assaulted by
unscrupulous men because she makes sure she
doesn’t go to awkward places at awkward hours

Celebrities[ MUST READ] How Yemi Alade Went From Overlooked To Overbooked by jiggaz(op): 3:47pm On Feb 03, 2015
I saw dis amazing article about Yemi Alade on NotJustOk.com

In this extremely competitive business
of making music, it is pertinent that an
artiste is consistent, hardworking,
talented, and most importantly, for me,
“shrewd”. A shrewd artiste is very
calculating, astucious and judicious.
This is highly important because one
wrong song, one wrong video, one
wrong dress, one wrong performance, or
even one wrong tweet can severely
hamper your blossoming musical career.
This is a clear indication that every
move for an artiste in the “music
business” as implied by Emmy Gee in
his song Rands N Nairas is
CALCULATED.
#OgaDimma DON’T
SLEEP ON ANYONE! U
NEVA KNOW WHEN THIER
SURU WILL LERE#
#FROMOVERLOOKEDTOOVERBOOKED
— Yemi Alade #Johnny
(@yemialadee) January
15, 2015
Yemi Alade had a very successful 2014,
becoming one of Africa’s leading female
entertainers, and as she pointed out in
her tweet a few weeks ago, “From
overlooked to Overbooked “. This
success is firmly rooted on a bedrock of
years of hard work as she was guilty of
overdoing at times; doing interviews on
the same radio station on two
consecutive days, with the same or
different presenters. You could call that
persistence, well yea… but remember,
too much of everything is not good.
That said, without a diggity without a
doubt, she was hardworking.
Signed to “Jus Kiddin’ “, her first single
“Fi Mi Sile” which dropped some few
months after she won the maiden
edition of the Peak Talent Show was a
60% success as it got massive airplay
on the radio, video was good and the
talent was obvious. “She has an
amazing voice, she is a star… this one” I
said to myself the first time I heard it
but she went missing after that. That
dreaded, very important second single
never came. She was a 300level student
of Geography at the University of Lagos
at the time and for reasons unknown to
me, the wait for the second single
expired.
On a sunny afternoon in the first
quarter of 2012, I got a message from
Taiye Aliyu who I used to call “Oga
Taiye” CEO Effyzzie Music Group . He
told me he wanted me to interview Yemi
Alade on my show on Unilag FM which
I did, with the main highlight of the
show being that a new single was
coming. I was excited much about this
new project because I was a fan; it
sparked another anxious wait. On the
25th of June 2012 at 12 noon, she
released her second official single titled
“Ghen Ghen Love ” produced by the
highly celebrated OJB JEZREEL . It
obviously wasn’t as good as the first
but I said to myself “maybe, just
maybe”. This is what NotJustOk posted
when the song was released:” Yemi
Alade who is not new to the music
scene, utilizes her strong voice by
impressing us with her delivery on this
up tempo OJB jezreel produced track. If
she stays consistent and has more time
to do more quality music. She can do
damage. ” She followed up “Ghen Ghen
Love ” with “Uche Face ” featuring the
boy band L.O.S produced by El Emcee.
When I heard this, I was shocked and
asked myself “Bloody Hell!!! what’s she
doing? ” I had the face of someone
stoned by a child and, in my pain, he
keeps on laughing.
In December that year, Yemi dropped
two more singles Bamboo and Show
Me. And with “Bamboo “, she apologised
for throwing stones at me; my favourite
Yemi Alade song till date. The lyrics
were clear, she sang her heart out and
the beat was amazing. By the end of
2012, two things were clear, 1) she was
getting consistent with putting out
music; 2) she was looking for that Hit
song.
Ghen Ghen Love
Bamboo and Show Me
In 2013 the search for “that” single
continued. Yemi Alade put out “Faaji ” in
June while she was also being featured
on other tracks notably “Rock My Body ”
with Mr Dance but I can’t sing Dipp .
The video was soft porn, well I liked it.
But in September 2013 things were
going to change. She set up on
ANOTHER nationwide Radio Tour for the
release of her new singles “Birthday
Song ” and “Happy People “, giving out
over a hundred cakes on this tour. She
came for an interview on my show and
she discussed plans for videos for both
songs and massive plans for promo. I
thought “Happy people ” was “that” song
because it was very catchy; I knew half
the lyrics the first time I heard it (not
like it had 20 words though. LOOL).
The beat was uptempo as well. For the
clubs.
Two weeks on and I got a message
from Yemi saying she got a new single
she would be pushing and I said to
myself “What is wrong with this young
lady? ” She was done with the tour, but
she was going to start another.
Apparently during her tour, she had met
up with Selebobo and made a song
titled “Johnny ” and she was back again
for another interview. When I heard
Johnny, it was clear, this was the
song! And I said to her right away, this
song needs a video. Johnny was
released on the 14th of October 2013
almost a month after she released the
previous single. I mean WHO DOES
THAT? It was beginning to look like a
struggle but that move paid off and
from that point, she never looked back.
She made the shrewd decision of
dropping Johnny though it could have
backfired. She realized the potential of
the song and she judiciously opted to
shoot the video with Clarence Peters
instead of Paul Gambit who shot her
previous videos. This paid off as he
directed one of the best videos of 2014…
and the rest is history . *Not
undermining the work of Paul Gambit
but having your video shot by Clarence
Peters portrays an “I mean business ”
outlook for an artiste and would
therefore be taken more seriously. As
much as you might want to argue this,
you know deep down that it is true.
Yemi Alade didn’t sleep on the
proverbial bicycle. She dropped
Tangerine and few weeks later, she
followed it up with the visuals. She kept
herself in our faces, we had no choice.
Both were getting heavy rotations on TV
and on the radio, and then she did
something no one in the industry had
ever done at that time. I bet you already
know. She made the French Version of
Johnny and BOOM! She was performing
in Stadiums and big shows across
Africa. Throw in the fact that she’s got
unrivaled energy on stage, and suddenly,
we had a real star on our hands.
Source: Instagram
Yemi Alade has become one of the
most sought after entertainers in Africa.
Only few female entertainers can match
her success in Africa. In October 2014,
she released her debut album “King Of
Queens” which got loads of great
reviews. Even though I feel the song
with Chidinma “Selense” is an absolute
mess, there are reasons for profound joy
with other songs on the album. With the
Video for Kissing being an absolute
beauty, and the video for Taking Over
soon to drop, amid countless number of
local and international shows,
collaborations, endorsements, and with
astonishingly, NO major controversy, the
signs are evident that this very talented,
hardworking, consistent and shrewd
musician will continue to soar higher
and higher. The Yemi Alade story –
From Overlooked to Overbooked – is
indeed a fine example for up & coming
musicians across Africa.

CelebritiesAll Nollywood Actresses Are Runz Babes - Uti Nwachukwu by jiggaz(op): 3:05pm On Feb 02, 2015
Uti says so......

Nothing is hidden under the sun and former
BBA winner, Uti Nwachukwu just confirmed
that by exposing few dirty secret of ladies
who are making waves in the entertainment
industry. He was on Ebony Life TV and the
guy made the revelation with confidence,
indication he knows what he’s saying.
According to Uti: “Most celebrity women in
the entertainment industry have had to sleep
with one big man or the other to have the
comfortable life they live. Its common
knowledge”.
Uti Nwachukwu didn’t stop there. He went
ahead to disclosed that a lot of ladies in the
entertainment industry who are not yet
married in their early or late 30s are
suffering from this same mess.
He said even himself, whenever he hangs
out with his friends and they talk about
getting married to a beautiful actresses,
most of the guys will say “never” and that is
because they’ve met these actresses in
private places and they see all the nonsense
they do with big men because of money.

CelebritiesIf You Call Me A Sex Symbol, You're Not Lying - Flavour Nabania by jiggaz(op): 10:18pm On Feb 01, 2015
I saw this on Vanguard just now

It is better to flaunt your sex appeal than to have nothing to show off. This seems to be Flavour’s principle. The contemporary highlife artiste who has a knack for showing off his sexy physique on social media revealed in an interview why he loves to show off his physique.

Hear him: “If I am not doing music, I love to walk out and when I do that, I am confident enough to show my body on my social media accounts. If you call me a sex symbol, you are not lying.

I feel it is a good thing for people to believe in themselves and be confident. I believe in hard work and it shows in my music and the way I walk out at the gym. I exercise a lot and take out time to keep fit and maintain my physique”

Music/RadioWhy Do African Artistes Find It Hard To Break Into The Nigerian Market? by jiggaz(op): 3:01pm On Feb 01, 2015
I have been thinking lately why dis is so.. I mean
there are some songs by some African Acts that
will be ruling airwaves across Africa but we dont
even hear of them here in Nigeria & the farthest
they can come to West Africa will be Ghana. I
know Sarkodie was able to break into the market
likewise Cabo Snoop & a few others but dat is it.
One example is Nameless from Kenya, he
released a Hit single in Kenya called Sinzia in
2005/06. D song was very big in East Africa,
Central Africa & some parts of Southern Africa but
lo and behold it didnt even smell the shores of
Nigeria. Another example is d rampaging girl-
band ''Blu 3'' from Uganda. These girls burst onto
the African music scene in 2004 with their Hit
single ''Hitaji'' which ruled airwaves in East
Africa, Central Africa & Southern Africa. Though
some Nigerian radio stations played the song, it
didnt record any commercial success like it did in
other African countries. They released another
song in 2009 ''Where You Are'' ft Radio & Weasle
& it was a massive hit across Africa, it was also
number 2 on MTV Base African charts for weeks.
It was even played on MTV Europe. The farthest
they broke into West Africa was Ghana but never
Nigeria. There are other Hit songs by artistes
from East Africa that recorded so much success
around Africa but they did not make any impact in
Nigeria. Hit songs like Gold Digger by Jackie
Chandiru from Uganda, Siamini by TID from
Tanzania, Lookie Lookie by Stella Mwangi frm
Kenya & One and Only by Navio frm Uganda
etc.... I happen to know about these songs cos
i'm someone that loves good music no matter its
origin & i research very well too. Language is
neva a barrier to me. So my question is ''What do
u think is limiting these good African artistes from
breaking into the lucrative Nigerian music
market''? Is it language barrier, finances or what?
From what i discovered, artistes from East African
countries & Africa in general believes dat to break
into Mainstream Music in Africa, u have to
conquer Nigeria first which is true... So
nairalanders, spill ur opinions. Its all welcomed

The picture below is the Blu 3 girls from Uganda.

Well, i recently knew about her through someone here, CFCfan, i think smiley
yeah! i checked out her songs and bio, and the fact that i thought she was just a video vixen on Iyanya's music video, "your waist" alone baffles me!, she is beautiful and has a great voice more than other female Nigerian artiste out there. The only thing holding her back is her choice of music, because she was born in the states, her choice of music is not what Nigerians what. Even though, she's trying so hard to offer that kind of loud music, Nigerians want, but her style still sticks to American R&B.
Her videos are mediocre and cheap! nothing fancy at all. Her dressing too lipsrsealed, too tacky! I'm not judging her on her choice of dressing, but it keeps pulling her back. I have watched some of her interviews, ans she seems like a cool person.
She'll definitely get there. she needs to work with other well-known artiste like wizkid, tiwa savage and even yemi alade! it will give her a spot edge and a little bit of recognition too.
Well said.

lol i just saw dis on Vanguard. i think he's a musician.

Kreystar may
not be an household name in entertainment
circles yet, but he has what it takes to give the
likes of Iyanya and others a run for their money.
The light-skinned economics graduate who is
preparing to unveil his highly anticipated single
Oganla has revealed to Showtime how Pasuma
inspired the song
“ I just saw the word ‘Oganla’ written on a bus
with Pasuma’s picture. I was intrigued by the
word, asking myself what this means. I went to
the studio, met my producer and told him that I
am ready to deliver a song. He made the beat
and I just started creating my own flows on the
beat.”
When asked if he is considering working with
Pasuma, he said: “I will love to work with Pasuma
If the opportunity arises, because he is the
inspiration behind the song“.
The Afro-pop artiste is not one to show any form
of modesty about his charming looks. He has this
to say: “I make women say goodbye to their men
without even thinking about it. I am that
comfortable about my looks. Sometimes, I try to
look haggard so I won’t get any female attention”
