Harder is an amazing Pop song with dat Naija flavour dat will get you on the dancefloor & also it has an addictive catchy hook!!! These guys sound like d better version of P Square & i mean it!! Their vocals sound like P Square's but on a better magnitude!! cheesy LOL. P Square dem are still my guys oo. I heard d song on Dream Fm Enugu last week & i became addicted already. It has dat Euro-Pop beat with Naija flavour & with good sweet vocals!!! If promoted well, these guys will go places & P Square dem will hav a replacement when they retire. Goin through all these comments, i cant help but laugh... U people are here killing yourselves over P Square's Alingo & the guys are busy making money all over the world. P Square dat doensnt even know u guys exist sef. I think dis matter is overflogged sef, why dis fight over Azonto everytime, na precious stone? Abi Azonto dey pay una salary? Dis kind of things are soo childish, everyday its Nigeria- Ghana e-war. Abeg dis matter don ol' sef. We know dat Azonto is from Ghana, who is disputing dat? Big ups to you guys but African dances does not start and end with Azonto. There were other dance steps dat were before it e.g Galala, Suo, Konto, Yahoozee, Alanta etc but all of them have all gone under, so will azonto very soon. Dat Nigeria is the biggest entertainment hub in Africa is undisputable, everyone knows dat. We have paid soo many dues to come to dis level. Other countries are trying too like Ghana, Kenya, South Africa & Uganda & i like some of their artistes too. But dis issue of abusing a whole country cos of dis thread is uncalled for. Abeg moderators, mikuz & mynd_44, i think dis thread needs to be closed soonest. And to u OP, woe unto u for posting dis kinda thread since u know it ll degenerate to something like dis. Soo many immature comments. Dis kinda thread shouldnt be making front pages again cos its blocking d exposure of some upcoming artistes here. Me i have some artistes i wanna promote & post their songs here but dis kinda threads are gaining d whole attention !! cheesy LOL. Plz let everyone be matured here. Nigeria is Africa's Entertainment Giant & everyone knows dat. Other African countries too are trying on their own and datz good too. Peace to all of you.

Music/RadioRe: Ghanaians Mad At Chris Brown For Calling Azonto A Nigerian Dance by jiggaz(m): 3:15pm On Apr 15, 2013
mikeapollo: Go and do an analysis of Nigerian and Ghanaian music. Most Nigerian musicians are now playing the 'Hiplife' style of music that originated from Ghana. It is the fast, uptempo Highlife mixed with rap, and it was originated by Reggie Rockstone in the early 90s and modernised by younger musicians by Sarkodie, Praye, Obour etc

What most young Nigerian musicians have been playing in the last 3-years are imitation of the Ghana Hiplife music...from Iyanya, Olamide, May-D, Davido, Wizkid, Ruggedman, Terry G, Timaya, J.Martins, Duncan Mighty, Omawumi, etc and virtually all the young new Nigerian artistes.
If you would be sincere, you would realise that the trend of music/beats/rhythms we hear now is different from what we used to hear in about 5-10 years back. Take Iyanya for instance. Compare the style of music he released after the winning the Project Fame about 5-6 years ago, and the kind of music he plays now.....He is now playing the 'HipLife' style of Ghana.....because of the up tempo danceable effects which is more appealing in parties and dancehalls
We are copying Ghana's highly danceable Hiplife music beats...that is the truth.
Can you cast your mind back to about 5-10 years ago and remember how dull our local music used to be at party dance halls? But now, with the adoption of the Ghana Hiplife style, which fuses fast highlife/rap, virtually all Nigerian musicians and dance halls are now rocking with 'Azonto' beats..... Any Nigerian musician that wants to remain relevant in dance halls now play Azonto/Hiplife beats...Even PSquare had to steal the concept but shamelessly put a another name 'Alingo' on it.

Go listen to many Nigerian musicians who are playing Sarkodie's style....e.g. Olamide's Bend Down Low, Ruggedman, and even PSquare's new song for Glo(Unlimited)....they are all imitations of Ghana's Sarkodie and Guru's style of music

If you do not know, Ghana taught Nigeria our first classical music....Highlife. Even Fela had to go learn and master professional music in Ghana before he became a success in music!
Guy you are such a joke!!! First of all, you are not a Nigerian, so stop forming familiarity. So u are now saying dat Nigerian Dancehall music is now copied from Ghana's Hiplife? Who knows Ghana's music sef? For ur info, Nigerians started knowing ur music from last year cos of Sarkodie's U go kill me. So u say dat in d last 5yrs,dat d Nigerian music was dull cos we dont have good hi-tempo songs? I laugh in Spanish.. So what happened to Terry G's & Timaya's songs back in d day? They are azonto-songs too? I pity some Ghanaians sha, who wants to compete with Naija cos u guys will die of High BP. So P Square & Lagbaja's Glo Unlimited song is now an imitation of Ghana's hiplife/azonto beats? I pity u people cos Nigerians doesnt know u guys exist. Naija is too BIG for Ghana, go compete with Kenya in Entertainment. I just pray u people dont spoil Sarkodie's & R2Bee's market for Nigeria wit ur jealousy. As for Samini, he has killed his career by dissing P Square,he ll neva blow in Naija. His music will never pass Accra. R2Bees dat said in an interview dat they will continue to do Nigerian-kinda music cos it's wat sells in Ghana & Africa, and u are here telling me abt hiplife. Anyways sha, i discovered a good Ghanaian rap artiste called EL, i will post his music here. U guys should just chill for Nigerians. Peace.
Music/RadioRe: Ghanaians Mad At Chris Brown For Calling Azonto A Nigerian Dance by jiggaz(m): 6:23am On Apr 07, 2013
Abeg dis Azonto whatever shoul end already!!! .... We all know dat Azonto is a Ghanaian dance, so Ghanaians should be mad at Chris Brown for d mistake but not at Nigerians. But lemme ask oo, why all these fuss about Azonto? Its a common dance for crying out loud, which has almost faded... Ghanaians big ups to u people for inventing Azonto but its no big deal. There has been other dances before which has also faded like Yahooze, Galala etc & Azonto is also joining their bandwagon. But one thing i must say here is dat, u can never compare the Nigerian Entertainment industry with dat of the Ghanaians. There's a BIG difference just like Night & Day. Everybody in Africa & Diaspora knows dat. One thing Ghanaians must know is dat Nigerian artistes doesnt need Ghana to sustain our industry cos we have a very HUGE local market for our music. 170 million people no be beans. But on the other hand, Ghana so much need Nigeria cos they have a very small market for their music, 25 million is very small compared to 170 million. So there's no need for Ghanaians to compete with Nigerians cos we are way ahead of u guys in Entertainment ( music & movies ). Its like d U.K trying to compete with d U.S, it doesnt make sense. Ghana should just go & compete with Kenya or Uganda. And d funny thing is dat Nigerians dont really care about u guys cos u dont bother with someone u know u are better than. I'm not trying to bash u people or something cos i like Sarkodie & R2Bees, they are good musicians. But u guys need to chill, Azonto is just a dance, it doesnt have copyright.

Yeah bro, Okpomekwe is hilarious LOL... And Stormrex is really doin good. Lagos music stakeholders are now noticing her hustle. I think she's on her way to Stardom.

Bawss1: @ Jiggaz

I'm sure you know the musician known as Niggar Raw, well apparently someone or something made him see reason why going with the niggar part was such a bad idea and he has since dropped it, he is known by Raw now. Sometimes the names people choose to identify themselves with can have an undesired effect regardless of how good their music is. Tell your girl group to rethink their stage name.
LOL... I get ur point bro. They are not my girl group oo & i am not their manager cheesy cheesy ... I see ur point though.

Ada.... my brother named 1 group like DAT ehm desperate chicks
Obi ... ha no wonder u never marry... nonsense!!!!
grin
Well its different strokes for different folks.... I ve past d stage of looking at Artiste's stage name before listening to their music. Good music is good music no matter what. Mind u, its dis same name dat got dem the buzz they had in d East and South South... Making their songs to be topping music charts in Eastern Radio stations... People will see d name and be like ''WTF'' but out of curiosity, they will listen to d songs & as they say, d rest will be history cos they ll become instant fans.. That was their manager's creativity (Dekumzy) and its working for them.. LOL..
Music/RadioRe: The Return Of Desperate Chicks - Nigeria's Destiny's Child by jiggaz(op): 9:11am On Mar 28, 2013
Bawss1: If that was a marketing strategy all it did was successfully put off people like me from listening to their music.

They will have to re-brand themselves if they want a wider appeal.
You got it wrong bro, maybe u are not out to listen to good music. If u keep on looking at Artiste stage name before listening to their music, then i guess u dont really like good music. The industry has come to a stage now whereby people are all about good music not minding d artiste's name, language or whatever.... What about names like Lady Gaga, Dirty Money, PussyCat Dolls? They made it not withstanding their stage names. As for them getting a wider appeal, they were very popular in d East and South-South part of Nigeria in 2008/2009. They did countless sold out shows there. They also did some shows in the U.K. Their music was very popular on the net/youtube. Just dat they didnt conquer Lagos which i will blame on their P.R. So bro, leave d name and listen to d music... Mind u, i was shocked too when i came across their music in 2008 cos of d name, but i relaxed when i listened to their music... LOL.. Trust me its a marketing strategy.

Bawss1: Its things like this that makes one wish there was a ministry of music in Nigeria.

Is one supposed to say that name with a straight face?
I guess d name was a marketing strategy. But i also think d music industry has come of age to look past a Stage Name & check what content u've got. Thank God their music is good.

The 3 biggest musicians in Nigeria has always been 2Face, P Square & D'Banj & they are still d big 3. M.I was the number 4 when he was still the rave but i found out dat Wizkid has replaced him as number 4 in Nigeria. Dis is according to Nigerian Music Industry stake holders. 2Face, P Square & D'Banj are d biggest Nigerian Music export, so they are d BIG 3. No contest.

For those who doesnt know, Desperate Chicks is a HOT Nigerian girl group dat hit the music industry in 2008 with their HIT album TELL DEM. The album was a HIT and it made waves especially in the East. In 2010, the group which was made up of Ursula Ice, Stormrex & Barbie disbanded, which made the girls to do solo albums. In 2011, the girls came back together to do a HOT reunion single called FIRE BURN which made it to Ursula Ice's debut album --> ONE NITE. In the FIRE BURN song, Stormrex was on d 1st verse, Barbie was on d 2nd verse while Ursula Ice did d 3rd verse. Download FIRE BURN + RULE D WORLD (one of Ursula Ice's single but they named it as One Night -- it was a mistake sha, cos d name of d song is RULE D WORLD,its a HOT single too from talented Ursula Ice with amazing vocals) --->> http://www.zieplay.com/play.php?play=1671&artist=Ursula%20Ice Below are pictures of Ursula Ice & Stormrex, i couldnt find Barbie's picture.

LOL.. cheesy cheesy Its not dat bro... Its just dat anytime an artiste releases a song, all these internet critics and over sabi will swoop on the person & tear him down. But funny enough, when d same song is being played on radio, d streets & d clubs, d real life people will appreciate it cos it will grow on them on several listens and those songs will turn out to become great HIT songs.. E.g was when P-Square released Forever & Bunyie Ya Enu in 2011, d same Internet Critics swooped on dem and tear dem down to d extent dat i almost didnt download d songs thinking dat they were very bad. But i managed to download dem and lo & behold, d songs were good and it still became hits. If u dont like a song, its ok. Just jump and pass cos its different strokes for different folks, one man's meat na anoda man kpomo. Criticise constructively without attacking d artiste in particular. And one thing i discovered was dat d Internet Critics' opinions doesnt matter cos at the end of the day, your main fans are in the outside world. Not really on the internet cos u cannot satisfy dem no matter how good u are,dey will surely bring u down cos most of dem neva chop. Anyways i'm not P-Square's publicist oo, just my opinion.
