The Quill Weeps



They say men don't cry, so I let my quill do the weeping

Headshots, breath stops, blood all over
Blaring sirens overshadowed my weak cries
Stray bullets, definitely from a thug or soldier
He fell on me, I held him and watched him die

A bad guy's soul can be redeemed if he turned good
A good guy's when he turns bad? Almost impossible
I hope to see you in heaven, if they have a hood
Safe journey, but take a knife, in case Satan turns an obstacle

Was young, but wasn't dumb, only a couple years now
Contemplated suicide, never even feared death
Afraid of my worst enemies, they seem to take my friends down
Kept my distance from objects that do reflect

I retreat to my room, pick my rhyme book, in which I laid bare my fears
My pen takes my grief, and sheds it when I script
Sometimes, my emotions becomes unconcealable, I burst into tears
Whoever says men don't cry, doesn't know grief


Chris, how I so miss you
It's been 5 years now but
I still doubt if your death is true

Those cuts didn't kill you
I lost you to the drugs trauma

The best friend you can ever have
My Quill, my eyes
Puts my tears on notepads

Only you understands how I feel
You weep so I could focus
Puts my emotions on the real

Went through trying times
But with you in my pocket
I grab you, and feel fine

The Quill weeps, but we're too deaf to hear
Too blind too see
Because we're deaf by our thoughts, and blinded by tears




Analysis:
The Quill Weeps is a Freestyle Verse which illustrates the feeling of many poets going through sad times. Poets tends to feel better after writing down the thoughts bugging them.

Who Has An Idea What I'm Taking About?

The gods have strange ways of granting our prayers
when we ask for impossible things. It is their sense of humor, a reminder that some fates are not intended to be defied. She sought immortality to preserve her illuminating beauty: never to weaken or ail, but to remain like an eternal burning flame ever admired. The gods warned her that all things were not as they seemed but if she sought to touch upon divinity, she should bathe herself seven days and seven nights within fresh rainwater and let no grain of food pass her lips.

Delighted she followed the godly instruction and upon the eighth night she awoke not within her bed, but aloft high within the sky: guardian of the night watching over the earth thus she would remain eternal and her beauty never wane, and all would look upon her in awe and wonder and envy.

But she grew lonely, though the stars sung to her...

There was no warmth and all she knew and loved was far below beyond her touch. So, she pleaded with the gods
to take back this gift they granted. The gods took pity
but somethings done cannot be undone; wee live with the choices we make. But they are not cruel and unfeeling, so they made her a compromise and after each turning cycle she was allowed to descend from the sky and touch upon the earth again, leaving the sky dark robbed of her ethereal beauty.

But one day she had to reunite with all she loved though soon they withered and died while she remained before once more, having to make her ascent and reclaim her seat above us all.

Now, this is deep. . . Deeper than what a mere eye can see. Let me go sip one Orijin, so I can understand it.

@Adebayo, Divepen is going to show up. And sometimes, you don't need forever to come with a poem. Just one skillful person like Divepen and before you know it, you're scripting poems in minutes.

Last year, when paired with Philtrum, he disappeared at first. And most times, we script our poems a couple of minutes before submission time.

But in case llaykorn could not fix you up with someone else, write a poem yourself for the time being, as two persons.
