Share your experience as a car dealer, a car "buyer" and or add more insights. Good Luck! |
5. Lastly, upload proper pictures. We cannot overemphasize this. Pictures are a good way to sell your cars. Understand the areas you need to take. We have seen dealers taking pictures of tyres and the roof of the car etc. This may not be totally important but fair practice. The most important pictures when selling a vehicle are: i. The engine ii. The chairs iii. The boot iv. The front view v. The back view vi. The side view vii. Underneath the vehicle viii. The dashboard and its lights |
4. Customize or personalize your conversation, approach etc. You are dealing with humans who are going to be spending their money on the vehicle. It is important that you see you as an agent as a business. Humans want respect, regard, courtesy etc. These things do not make you less, it simply means your customers and your brand matters to you. A lot of car dealers have lost customers due to this reason alone. |
3. Dont be too greedy: One of the things that can quickly run down a business is greed. Greed appears in the following: i. Quick cash. ii. No interest in customer. iii. Hyping the vehicle in order just to sell. iv. Lying about faults and problems. v. Marking up with too much interest. vi. Appearing as if your vehicle is being sold as a favor. If you are in the business for a long term, the above are some of the things you should avoid. |
2. If possible, spare some cash to conduct inspection: Business is what it is; business. Even-though we are in the age of technology, things like vehicles are meant to be checked before being sold if you value your business name. We are also aware that distance could be a barrier, there are numerous cheap ride hailing services all over the country that you can spend less that N500 to conduct the inspection. If not possible, use a trusted business partner within location. |
Hello Everyone, We have observed that there are a lot of car dealers who may need some education or training in order to be a better car dealer or agent. Many do not know they can sell more by only doing less. All it takes is to be more creative and most especially honest in your dealings. If you go to the Jiji Platform for example, in order to sell your vehicles, there is often a small process to follow that will make your Ad attractive. We have made it so easy for you to upload your vehicles with all the necessary details in order to sell better. Some of those things are what we will be sharing now. If you are in the business for the long term then this is for you but if you are looking to at short term and quick profit then this may not be for you; How To Be An Effective Car Dealer. Today, we have decided to share some of the things you can do to grow your customer base, get loyalty and earn trust. Lets start: 1. Create a template response. Most car dealers are so lazy they just want quick money. When an inquiry is been made about vehicles, all they can answer swiftly is the price and not vehicle details. Some may say there are too many inquiries from customers but if this is your line of thought then you have no business selling vehicles. To make it easier, create a template response. When you get a brief from a vehicle owner or a fellow car dealer, dont be so quick to post, get the details. We imagine that you have this sort of template below: --- Customer: "Good afternoon, I am interested in your 2007 Lexus. May I know the last price please?" Agent: Hello, Thank you for your interest. Year: 2007 Brand: Lexus Model: ES350 Color: White VIN: 4567THEKFHFKDHFKD Rust: None Accidented: Yes Location: VI Final price: 2M Landed Nigeria: 2016 C Number: 56HGFSK Issues aware of: Shocks needed, Hand brake faulty Kindly let me know when you are coming if you are interested. --- Honestly, if any customer ask further questions other than information above, then you may have justification to react passively but even at that, a customer is a customer. Most agents are so lazy, that they have no details of the vehicle. |
