Guinness book of world record has lost its original value...These days, just anything is considered an achievement and worthy of recording. The last time I watched it on TV, THE RECORD BEING SET WAS "THE MOST NUMBER OF MAGGOTS CARRIED BY MOUTH"... what A disgusting record.

The much talked about record that is to be made with a ball on the head while riding a bicycle has being set by a Nigerian. Harrison Chinedu who also owns a record of balling on the head while walking.
NOT many football fans will have heard of Harrison Chinedu – but the Nigerian has completed the remarkable feat of CYCLING for 64 miles with a football balanced on his head.

The talented amateur footballer rode from a beach outside the capital Lagos all the way into the centre of the country’s largest city to the national stadium where the Super Eagles play their home games.
Dressed head to toe in Nigeria colours, all the while he had to dodge potholes on the notoriously bad roads, and bypass street vendors and other traffic.

He was followed by supporters and bewildered members of the public who cheered, danced and played music as he travelled.
It is not the first time he has attempted such a record - in March, he walked 30 miles with a football balanced on his head, but his record was quickly broken by someone else.

That prompted him to go try and go one step further with his bicycle in the hope no-one will be brave or talented enough to beat it.

Afterwards, he said: “My biggest motivation was that I believe in showcasing my God-given talent. I know I have the skill and I want to show the world what I can do.
"This one is a record created by me and I am happy that I have done my own side. And it's left for the Guinness World Records to ratify it and bring back results."

And there is the catch - the World Record arbitrators are aware of his accomplishment, but have to approve it before he can say he has achieved it.

So there is a real chance it may not happen... let's hope for his sake it does.

Love is in the air at Rio 2016 -- and the world's top athletes are getting in on the act.

Just moments after receiving her silver medal in Sunday's 3-meter springboard event, China's He Zi was asked to take a very different kind of plunge.

The 25-year-old was met by boyfriend Qin Kai, a fellow Olympic diver, who bent low on one knee by the podium before offering up a box containing an engagement ring.
She appeared shocked, and covered her mouth before Qin placed the ring on her finger and gave a "thumbs up" to the spectators.
We've been dating for over six years," He Zi told reporters.

"I didn't know that he would propose today, and I didn't expect that I would marry myself out so early.

"He (Qin) said a lot of things there at the podium. He made a lot of promises, but the thing that has touched me the most is that I think this is the guy I can trust for the rest of my life."
Qin, a bronze medalist in the men's synchronized 3-meter springboard, also gave his wife-to-be a red rose encased in glass.
