Politics › Boko Haram Gunmen Kill 11 In Yobe by Jirate(op): 12:04am On Apr 22, 2016
Suspected Boko Haram gunmen on horseback have killed at least 11 people in in Zango village in Gulani district of Yobe State capital, Damaturu.
The attack on the village happened overnight on Tuesday to Wednesday, said Aisami Mamman, a vigilante.
It came two weeks after a similar attack on two nearby villages left at least 20 dead, he added.
“They (Boko Haram) came around midnight and started firing gunshots in the village. This prompted residents to flee into the bush,” said Mamman.
“They pursued them, shooting at them while others set fire to the whole village. The whole village was burnt. Eleven people were killed and several others were injured, six of them critically.
“They were brought here to Damaturu where they are receiving treatment for gunshot wounds.”
The motive for the attack was not immediately clear but previous strikes have seen Boko Haram steal cattle or foodstuffs.
The hit-and-run attack has been a trademark of the Islamic State group affiliate but such incidents have become rarer because of a concerted military counter-offensive in the northeast.
Troops have over the last year wrestled back territory lost to the militants in 2014, scattering fighters and cutting off their supply lines.
Boko Haram fighters have conducted a number of attacks on remote villages after arriving on horseback and even bicycles because of a shortage of fuel for vehicles or motorbikes.
Mamman suggested the attackers in Zango came from the Sambisa Forest area of neighboring Borno, where Boko Haram has long had camps.
“Exactly two weeks ago there was a similar attack on two villages nearby. They attacked Gurum and Dokshi villages,” he said in an account of both incidents supported by another militia member.
“They burnt them completely and killed more than 20 residents.”

Business › Forex Policy: Iberia Withdraws Services From Nigeria by Jirate(op): 8:42pm On Apr 20, 2016
THE refusal of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to exempt foreign carriers from its forex policy has claimed its first casualty, with Iberia Airline pulling out of Nigeria.
According to information gathered late Tuesday, Iberia, the Spanish national carrier, was said to have taken the decision, in view of the financial predicaments brought upon it by the CBN forex policy, which prevented it from repatriating its proceeds made in Nigeria for many months now.
Since the introduction of the policy, the foreign airlines have over $500 million trapped in the various banks which they ought to have repatriated to their various home countries.
Prior to the decision of Iberia, many of the foreign carriers had expressed their displeasure at the CBN policy, with many threatening to withdraw their services from Nigeria if nothing was urgently done to reverse it.
Information gathered on Tuesday indicated that apart from Iberia, other foreign airlines had concluded plans to equally pull out of the country.
In view of the latest development, the foreign carriers are expected to meet with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo in Abuja, today.

What a Country, our so called President cannot address basic Issues like these himself, what is he President for?. In civilized climes, the President doesn’t needs any traditional ruler or pencil to caution any one, they would simply confront the issue themselves, but here, the president does not know his right from his left.
Buhari is Overwhelmingly Clueless, Speechless and Out rightly Vindictive. His Kinsmen are now a Threat to all Nigerians and he is mute, but his Party, the APC thinks a democratically elected Governor is a Bigger threat. Judgment day would soon come. cool cool cool

How can a zombie like You see anything wrong with what ever Buhari does?, he can even poo poo into your plate of food and you would gladly consume it.
The double standard is the Issue here, GEJ is not like that, he will not come out to tell Nigerians what he and his cannot take, what he says in secrets is what he will say openly. But Buhari is not like that, he will ask others not to fly first class but his pets will fly first class what ever the cost.
He is a man full of inconsistencies.

Amitex:
Those of you encouraging Buhari forgot that OBJ regime was brought to her knees by this same militants. Even then they never tasted amnesty bounty. Now, they are more emboldened. Again pipeline vandalism is not conventional warfare but hit and run. Ask yourself a simple question, if you are an oil worker, would you dare go to a militarised region? Who will drill the oil, soldiers? I wonder how military can police the length and breath of Nigeria pipeline network. I wish Buhari luck on this adventure. By the time two or three oil workers are kidnapped and killed, other will be forced to vacate. Situation like this deserve negotiations and not bravado!
A Word is Enough For The Wise........, with Time We All Will Know How Wise or Foolish APC and Buhari Are......
