PoliticsHow We Killed US Returnee -kidnap Suspects by Jisunpack(op): 9:44pm On Oct 03, 2012
Lagos State Police Command has arrested six suspected kidnapper who allegedly killed an United States returnee in Lagos. The victim,
Oddi Nweze was said to have gone to buy some items along Old Ojo
Road, Satellite Town when the hoodlums who wanted to kidnap him
ended up shooting him. The businessman, Nweze was said to have
struggled with the kidnappers, who out of annoyance shot him dead,
about two weeks ago.

The six suspects, Chibuzor Osuagwu, Oliver Nwabueze, Kevin Emenike, Uche Igbani, a woman, Ngozi Onuowu and another suspect were alleged to be among the eight members of the syndicate that
committed the dastardly act.
The suspects who were described by the police as notorious were alleged to be responsible for many of the
kidnappings and armed robberies in the country. Their method of operation was to abduct their victims and take them to their enclave at Ago Area of Okota before demanding for ransom. The bubble burst for the suspects when the police set their kingpin, Kevin Emenike up through a young woman who was chatting with him through the social media.

When the kingpin finally succumbed to the bait, he came from Port Harcourt where he was hiding to take the woman at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), and he was arrested by detectives led by the Area ‘E’ Commander, Mr. Dan Okoro, an Assistant Commissioner of Police.
Five out of the suspects who spoke with Daily Sun owned up to the
crime, while one of them claimed he was a motorcycle operator. One of the suspects, Emenike confessed that his role was to collect the
ransom from the victims’ families, which he would hand over to, Uche
Igbani who was in charge of the enclave.

According to Emenike he had participated in four operations, adding that the first kidnap operation was at Satellite, where the gang received N4 million ransom. He said his share of the money was N250,000. He said the second operation, which was at FESTAC Town earned the gang N5 million and his share was N300,000. The third operation, which, he said, was at Amuwo Odofin Area earned the gang N1.1 million. The suspect said his share was N100,000, while the last operation, which took place at Satellite Town earned the gang N1.2 million. His was N100,000 Another suspect, Osuagwu claimed the victims were usually taken to a flat where he lives with his wife. He said he lives in one room while the gang also used one room to hide the victims.

Osuagwu alleged he received only N30,000 from the gang. He said he was paid N10,000 and N20,000 in two operations. Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umar Manko said the late businessman was abducted near Oxpharm Store along Old Ojo Road, Satellite Town and later killed by the eight-man gang who operated on four motorcycles. “We are not linking Oxpharm Store to the kidnap saga. The suspects were on their own in the nefarious business operations.” Manko said one AK 49 rifle, 78 7.2mm ammunition, five loaded magazines, a Toyota Hilux van and two motorcycles were recovered from the suspects.

The police boss said the suspects would be charged with armed robbery, kidnapping and the murder of Oddi Nweze. In another
development, armed robbers yesterday attacked a family and their
visitor at Abule Onigbagbo Estate, Ikeja. The robbers raided the duplex
belonging to one Omololu Akinyosoye. Daily Sun gathered that the four bandits shot the security man at the gate. The security man identified as Michael Ekwueme is still receiving treatment in a private hospital (name withheld) in Ikeja.

The robbers dispossessed the family of jewelry, laptop, shoes and
unspecified amount of money. Meanwhile policemen exchanged gun
duel with them and shot dead one of the bandits.

While growing up, I hate the idea of multiple combinations of soup when eating, I see people doing that as being "clumsy" and I won't dare touch the soup with a meter pole.

>>> Fast forward, now I hardly swallow anything without combining different variety of soups.

My favourite is Egusi and Okra soup with goat meat littered in between the soups.

Damn!!! I fit wack this combi continuously for weeks without requesting for any change. trying to carry over what I missed in the past?

I guess, variety is truly the ultimate source of pleasure cool

The invitation card came with flight ticket to Paris, hotel reservation and 10 thousand dollars.

What do you know about being a graduate in engineering? What do you think are the purpose of those calculus, linear algebra, laplace, fourier, complex analysis and numerical analysis other than to make the logic and arithmetic unit in your brain to be more capable of handling and solving complex real life scenarios with ease?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: What's The Current Unemployment Rate In Nigeria? by Jisunpack: 12:03pm On Oct 01, 2012
What are you talking about? look let me be open and sincere to you. I left a "high" paying oil job in PH to start a farm. This idea came to me when I met a friend that was making times four of my pay in a month.

I got to know about the farm when I visited him during one of my vacations and was dazed with the money he was making, instantly that ugly mask called pride was shredded into pieces and I set my resignation date that very moment. it was like a revelations from God on my way to Damascus.

fast forward. . .I use part of the proceeds from the farm and set up a company which I automatically assumed the CEO and I can confidently tell you that I now employ people like you with their long neck ties.

Unemployment may seem to be a very difficult transition, but what is more harder is for anyone to be unskilled. after collecting let say 350k per month for six years, what do you think will happen to you? Go figure!

D sage: See bros, it's quite easier for an illiterate mechanic or bricklayer to further his education than telling a whole graduate after spending several years in school to start learning mechanic/bricklaying. It's not that easy, going to school is move difficult and stressful than learning a work.

I think our educational system/government should be blamed and not graduates.

NOTE; I didn't says vocational skills are bad because I myself had two, learned one before my university education and other while waiting for my NYSC call up letter back then. But the idea of telling graduates to learn mechanic is not easy to accept if you're in their shoes.

so, the ibos are waiting to be "handed" the presidency? Hmm, this one pass me ooo.

afam4eva: He has a point there. Nobody will give Igbos the presidency unless it's explicitly written in the constitution. Even though there's a verbal soning agreement, i can bet you that when it gets to the turn of Igbos, they'll discard zoning and look for another style that will make Igbos the last to get it. I see them using landmass to zone presidency. God help Ndigbo in this country. Amen.
PoliticsRe: Afam4eva: Who Owns Portharcourt? by Jisunpack(op): 10:49am On Sep 27, 2012
Va bene!

But my musings here is, do you think its morally right for people to be taunting the "no man's land" mantra on basis of what they think?

after getting a nice place to live and good environment to earn a living? Don't you think there should be a boundary? I mean, even in more civilised countries, there are pockets of staunch conservative with different opinions.

afam4eva: People really don't use that "No man's land" when it comes to port-hacourt because there are Ikwerres and other groups who have their villages in port-hacourt. In the case of Lagos, people ignorantly use it because there's this notion even from some Yorubas from other state that there are no indigenes of Lagos. They feel people who say they're indigenes of Lagos are lying. People also use it to describe Lagos because it happens to be the most cosmopolitan city in Nigeria and because it was a federal capital territory. It's similar to calling Abuja, the center of Unity. Again, using the term "no man's land" in some peopl's dictionary does ot necessarily mean that there are no indigenous people, it just pains a typical picture of a cosmopolitan settlement.

Well answered cool. Need to check you IQ cos it was 19 shocked grin the last time I did some rough estimate. ( no offence oooo, na joke I dey ooo, according to Gordons)

Now, Do you agree with me if I should say Portharcourt is a "no man's" land, because I'm privileged to owned two houses in some choice location in Portharcourt?

Give it to me!.

afam4eva: Just for posterity PH is not the same as Rivers just as New York state is not same as NYC. New Yorkers are people who live in the bouroughs in NYC eg Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens etc.

There's no such thing as being an indigene of port-hacourt but there are indigenes of Rivers state. PH is a cosmopolitan city just like Lagos and it accomodates Nigerians from every part of the country and these Nigerians who have lived in PH most or all their lives see themselves as port-hacourt people. Now this is different from Port-hacourt LGA in rivers state. THis port-hacourt is a thing of the mind and there are some idiosyncrasies that port-hacourt people are known for. These idisyncrasies are not peculiar to Ikwerre people or other ethnic minorities in port-hacourt rather they are behaviors that were created as a result of the cosmo nature of port-hacourt. So, in other words, anybody born, lived and naturalises in PH is a port-hacourt person.

Dude, stop side-stepping. I thought you said you are intelligent, right?

Rivers without Portharcourt is akin to a man without a soul.

. . .and my source? WAZOBIA fm or anyone resident in Portharcourt. Infact, those phrases should be familiar to anyone living in Portharcourt/Rivers cos they constantly repeat that catchy phrase i.e. "Rivers State is for Rivers people", said in Amaechi's voice.

Give it to me. cool.

afam4eva: Have you now changed it from "Who owns port-hacourt?" to "Who owns Rivers state?". Stick to one biko. Btw, i'll need a source to where Chibuike made the statement.
PoliticsRe: Afam4eva: Who Owns Portharcourt? by Jisunpack(op): 9:52am On Sep 27, 2012
Okay. cool

Governor Rotimi Amaechi said and I quote " Rivers State is for Rivers people" and he further said "If you are not happy with our laws , then go back to your state"

He mockingly and rhetorically ask the audience " Do you see any Rivers man complaining about TIMARIV? ", the crowd cheered and answered with single loud thunderous voice "NO!"

*** TIMARIV is just an equivalent of LASTMA OR LAMATA, who constantly harass and detain people at will with impunity because the governor is solidly behind them and he even attached a special army team to them ***

I lost a friend that was asthmatic, after spraying a teargas on his face at close range while coming back from church, he collapse and died instantly on the spot. A crime which was later discovered he didn't committed. This was a fine gentle man from Delta State that put in several years working in an oil and gas company ( name withheld)

So back to my poser, who are the Rivers people here?

afam4eva: How about some intro about port-hacourt like i did in the other thread. Don't be mentally lazy.
