Interesting!

Please, any idea on how to go about filing tax returns from Nigeria? I did a short landing in July 2018 and will only return to settle in Canada in June 2019.

I understand improper filing of taxes can affect one’s citizenship application/approval.

behati:
You become tax resident from when you first established residency in Canada. So technicaly, you became eligible to file income taxes from June when you landed. In 2019, you'll have to declare your worldwide income (both earned in Canada and Nigeria) from June (when you became a PR), however, due to the double taxation agreement between Nigeria and Canada, you would not have to pay taxes on income already subject to tax in Nigeria, but you must still file returns.
This response does not cover child benefits though, i don't know how that works.

Thanks matey!

I sent photos for the 3rd time late October. Called last week Monday and was told they are yet to send it for processing but that I will not have to send another photos even if the 3rd set didn’t meet the spec.

I will keep buzzing them regularly.

rainazoe:
How far with your cards. I harassed CIC with calls and via their web form stressing that the wait is passed the normal timeline and I got my card shortly after.

Please call them at least once a week until you hear your card has been sent for processing.

Please, can any one recommend a good and reliable studio where i can take PR card photos in PH? My photos have been rejected twice so far and i do not want to take chances anymore as my PR card is long overdue. I am based in PH and i will appreciate if someone can recommend a studio they have used in PH and the photos were not rejected.

Thanks.

Thanks. I was able to call them from Nigeria with Fongo (Canadian number) - you also need strong internet service to receive and make calls on Fongo. My wait time was about 30 minutes. The agent said she couldn't see our resubmitted photos in the file, that it may be because they only received in on Oct 1st. That i should call back in about one or two weeks time, that it may have been updated at that time.

rainazoe:
Pele o @JKJ6. Call +1 888 242 2100. I used a skype calling app because I am outside CA so you need good network quality too.
I started calling from 12.45pm naija time so that wait time to connect to an agent was reduced. Have your UCI no. close by

I seem to be in the same situation as you. Please, can you share the number you called? Thanks.

rainazoe:
That ia how I called CIC about my PR card that gas been pending and the agent said there is a note on my file for passport request.

What is annoying now is that I had resent passports since July which tracking showed it was received by the Card processing office.

Please can anyone advice in the way forward as I have to travel ASAP. How long does a PRTD take to process?

[quote author=iGary post=69568076]Please reconfirm this cancellation with Travel start again as I'm certain that you don't need a transit visa if u are not leaving the airport between connecting flights. [/quote

I was made to understood by travelstart that If your layover time is over night, you would need a transit visit but if it is same day you wouldn’t need a transit visit. Say you arrive Frankfurt 23/7 at 9:45pm and your connecting flight is (next day) 24/7 at 7:15am, you would need a transit visa.

How did you finally sort out your issue?
Oh, I thought I have shared it here. We added a short note in our application and also sent email to LVO, cc Accra and Ottawa to express our worries and request that they extend the validity of our medicals. They called on the phone same day we sent the email and inform us that they will be unable to extend but will allow us to take another medical test. We did that and our medical was extended up to when our new born baby medical expires - October 2018.

You can opt for CITL........You can even do it here in Nigeria with Multimix in Eric Moore. The certification is globally recognized.
Thanks!.. Are you in Canada? It appears that P.Log from The Logistics Institute and CCLP from CITT are some of the most recognized certifications for Transport and Logistics professionals in Canada.

I will really appreciate if someone on ground and perhaps in this sector can share their thoughts on the certification that will give one advantage over the others.

My people already living in Canny, i hail una o! Please, any idea of the certification that will be best for someone looking for opportunities in Transport and Logistics sector? My family and I will be in Canada in summer for about 3 weeks and return to Nigeria. We plan to relocate by the end of 2019 but before that time, i would like to have a certification in Transport and Logistics that will increase my chances of getting a good job very easily when we finally enter Canada.

Suggestions on the most sought after Canadian certification for Transport and Logistics will be most appreciated.

good news. Well, submit your passport to Accra and see if you get your passport back before this month ends. However, email accra as well as cpc ottawa about your medicals expiry date. You can also attach a cover letter when you are sending your passport explaining same. If you do get your copr before medicals expires I would advice that you do a short landing. It's just less complicated. He doesnt have to stay long. He can arrive today and leave tomorrow pretty easy. You can do same or choose to stay back and wait for or cards before returning.
Thanks. We submitted our passports together with a letter of request to extend the validity of our medical results to enable us make proper arrangements before our departure.

We are keeping our fingers crossed and hope they will grant our request.

Hi Everyone, we received a request yesterday to submit our passport for COPR. We have 15 days from yesterday to forward the passports to ACCRA and our medicals will expire April 5th and we are require to be in Canada before that date. We submitted our application on the 18th of April, 2017.

Our worry now is that we are not sure our passports will be processed within this very short period and besides we are honestly not prepared to leave within this short notice. Truth be told, we had given up because it was taking forever for them to conclude the process and we committed ourselves to a whole lot of other things. My spouse is very engage with work at the moment and by virtue of his position at work, he will have to give at least 6 months notice prior resignation.

We intend to request for extension of our medicals validity or perhaps go for another medicals but we are not sure if it is possible and how to go about it. Our thought when we applied was that the visa will be approved within six months and that will give my spouse enough time to notify his employer.

Experts in the house, your guidance on how to handle the situation will be most appreciated.

Kindly pour in ur suggestion o, e jo,biko, abeg o. na beg i dey beg o...
Hello, i think you should send CIC a mail to inform them of the situation of things. Let them know you will update your application as soon as your baby is born.

Meanwhile, we are in a similar situation as you. Baby arrived after we submitted our application, we raised CSE over one month ago to inform CIC of our baby's arrival but yet to receive any request from CIC to update our application. Although, our application was only transferred to LVO about two weeks ago since mid April that we submitted. The letter sent to you has given us a cue of the documents we are required to submit when adding additional dependent.

Please, i would like to find out few things from you. When did your hubby raised the CSE he raised? Did CIC create a placeholder in your application account to add the documents they requested for?

Thanks @Wura27. For the FBI PCC, it says enclose payment with the form, so I am still unsure how to do online payment for it.
When i inquired from FBI if they accept debit card from 9ja banks, their response was: "We can accept it as long as it can be used in the United States."

pls those dt did Uk pcc aside bank statement and utitlity what did u use? will my employement letter work? has anyone used this? utility bill isnt in my name.. i am out of options as to what to use.. pls suggest to me
Yes, a letter from your employer confirming your address on their record will do. When I did mine, I submitted confirmation of address from two banks and from my employer. If I may suggest, please, address your PCC to a U.K. address if you can. I'm yet to receive mine posted to Nigeria since March 2017. I had to request for another copy to a U.K. Address, then got the person to scan and forward to me.

Good luck!
