Health / Do You Think Having Abortions Can Stop A Woman From Having A Baby? by Jmaya(m): 12:24pm On Mar 08, 2017
Bibi has been married for 12 years without a child and thinks the abortions she had a single lady could be the cause.. Here's here story....
My name is Bibi, a 38-year-old married woman. I have been married for 12 years now without a child to show for it » and now, my marriage is on the verge of collapse.
My husband, Tammy, is fast losing patience as he is not getting any younger, coupled with the pressure his family has been putting him through to get another wife who would bear him children.
Tammy loves me so much and has been standing up for me but the pressure is getting to him and I fear he may succumb to it and take another wife.
I know I am not barren as I had two abortions when I was a single girl and I strongly believe that could be the reason I have not been able to have a child now that I want one desperately.
Our doctors have told me there is nothing wrong with me biologically and that the delay could be as a result of anxiety on my part but I still can't stop thinking that the babies I aborted could be the reason I have failed to get pregnant.
It gets so bad that most nights, I have nightmares where I see little babies crying for me to carry them and anytime I stretch forth my hands to pick them up, they will disappear.
A man of God I met and confessed to told me that the babies I killed are responsible for my present status but I know such cannot be medically proven but I am still very worried.
I desperately need a child or I would lose my husband to another woman. I need help fast.
Bibi."
Dear readers, after going through Bibi's story today, what do you think she should do in the circumstances she has found herself in? And Do you think having abortions can stop a woman from having a baby?

Crime / Senator Asked Buhari To Declare State Of Emergency In Zamfara by Jmaya(m): 10:04am On Jun 27, 2016
Senator Saidu Dansadau said on Sunday that he had written to President Muhammadu Burahi asking him to declare a state of emergency in Zamfara State.

Dansadau, who addressed journalists in Abuja, said he listed various offences committed by the Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari, in his letter to the President.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, were copied in the letter.

He urged Buhari and the nation’s parliament to invoke the necessary provisions of the Constitution which empowers them to declare state of emergence in the state, in the interest of peace and safety of the residents.

The letter read in part, “By Sections 4 (2) and 176 (2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria the executive powers of a state are vested in the governor of that state.

“By Section 215 (4) of the Constitution, the governor is the chief security officer of the state. The Constitution envisages that to perform these onerous responsibilities, the governor is expected to be resident in the state and give his full attention to the governance of the state.

“I wish to bring to the attention of Mr. President that since the incumbency of the Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar which began five years ago, public perception is that the Governor has spent only about 20 per cent of that whole period in Zamfara State.

“He had utilised the other 80 percent junketing from one part of the country to the other and shuttling around the globe. All matters of State that require action are kept waiting until he returns to the State.

“Consequently, intelligence and security reports are kept in abeyance. For instance, at a period, out of 60 straight days, the governor spent only two days in Zamfara State.”

He said as a result, there are increasing threats to public order in the state with hundreds killed.

“If the killings in the remaining 23 State Constituencies in the state are added, the total number of lives lost can better be imagined. All these losses would have been averted were the Governor alive to his constitutional responsibilities,” he added.

He said anything short of anything short of a state of emergency would “turn the thick forest between the southern border of Zamfara State with Katsina, Kaduna, Niger and Kebbi States into a national park of criminals and killers, worse than what the nation has ever witnessed before”.

The state governor could not be immediately reached for comments. The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Umar Jibo, did not pick his call or respond to a text message sent to him.
Family / Father Disowns Two Sons Arrested As Cultist Leaders by Jmaya(m): 9:55am On Jun 27, 2016
The father of two suspected gang leaders of the Awawa cult in the Dopemu area of Agege, Lagos State, has disowned his children, urging the police to prosecute them as required by the law.It was learnt that the two suspects – Fatai Popoola and Yakubu Popoola – were arrested by the Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, Alausa, on Friday.According to Punch, apart from 27-year-old Yakubu and 30-year-old Fatai, the police also arrested 13 other suspected members of the gang identified as:

Ajayi Babatunde, Ajose Anthony, Nurudeen Adebayo, Olayemi Lasege, Afeez Sanusi, Oluwafemi Ajibade, Opeyemi Oluwasola, Oluwatobi Adewunmi, Sunday Akerele, Timothy Ogar, Actor Amaechi, Jimoh Sanni and Owolabi Adediran. The suspected members of the Awawa cult had dispossessed people of their property and r\*ped young girls in the Aluminum Village and Valley Estate areas of Dopemu.A police source said that the cult boys had attacked the police but were overpowered and arrested. The source said, “The arrest of the 15 Awawa cult members was based on a tip-off. The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, had got several complaints about the Awawa cult and he directed the taskforce Chairman, SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, to arrest the hoodlums.“The operation was carried out around 12am. The hoodlums attacked the policemen with weapons, but in the end, they were overpowered.”It was learnt that the father of two of the suspects, identified only as Alhaji Popoola, told the police that he had given up on them and the law should take its course. The 66-year-old father was at the taskforce office, telling the police that he came to tell his sons that their end had come.He said, “I have warned the two of them several times to desist from gang activities, but they refused. I am shocked that I have two sons among the suspects arrested by the police. They are no longer my sons.“I only came as a disciplined man to tell the two of them that their end has come. I think it is a lesson to wayward children to always heed their parents’ advice.”One of the suspects, 30-year-old Sanni, alias Last Born, from Okene, Kogi State, confessed to be a leader of the gang, adding that he had r\*ped five women in the course of their operations. He said, “The person who brought me into the Awawa cult stays in Oloosha, Mushin area and his name is Olata. I lead the Awawa boys in Dopemu.“Some of my boys also sell Indian hemp at pubs and nightclubs. They sell for as low as N100 and we take Indian hemp before going for any robbery operation.“I have r*ped about five girls in the area. My boys and I collected N3,000 every day from shop owners in the Dopemu area. We burgled shops in Aluminum Village.”The bad guys would be charged to court on today (Monday).

He said: “Sometime ago, you must have heard about the killing of one of our policemen, a sergeant who was killed in April by hoodlums along Abakaliki/Enugu Expressway while trying to confront hoodlums who robbed someone in the area.

“The hoodlums have been terrorising this town and it is the same group that kidnapped one Hilary at Umuoghara  in Ezza North local government area of the state, where we tried our best to rescue him and in the process of rescuing him, there was a shootout between the police and the criminals, which eventually led to the death of one Ejike who was riding a Camry that was snatched from the owner sometime ago along Convent road, Abakaliki here.

“It is the same matter that brought in Onwe S. Onwe and while the investigation of the matter is on-going, we were able to arrest Emeka Akonuche, who was part of the gang of the kidnappers. We arrested him somewhere at Nkaliki area in Abakaliki.

“Emeka Akonuche was able to escape and we were able to get at his wife because it was his place that the victim was kept. The woman was arrested and brought to our office and while undergoing interrogation, there were approaches as to the process of granting her bail.

The two were pressing for the woman to be released and they have been making approaches and we have been watching their steps.

“As we were watching their steps, there was intuition for us to know where they were coming from and eventually, both of them were arrested and they turned out to be members of the gang.’’

Romance / How To Stop Getting So Damn Distracted During Sex by Jmaya(m): 10:22am On Nov 12, 2015
During sex, do you frequently find yourself thinking about grocery shopping, or getting distracted by the cobwebs on the ceiling? It’s frustratingly hard to turn our brains off when we’re being intimate, even though we all know how much better sex can be when we’re mentally present. These tricks can help.
Practice Outside the Bedroom The key to all of this is mindfulness, or put less jargon-y, learning how to be more present in the moment. If you spend your entire day adrift in a sea of anxiety, multitasking, and overactive thinking, you can’t expect to be perfectly calm and centered the second your partner starts taking your clothes off. The best way to learn how to be more present in the bedroom is to practice slowing your mind down outside of the bedroom. Being present is a skill that requires practice, and it’s usually easier to make the space for that practice when you’re not naked with another person. Meditation can help a lot here. I highly recommend Headspace, an app that teaches you how to meditate. Headspace takes a topic that seems befuddling to most people, and breaks it down into simple, easy-to- understand concepts. It guides you through structured meditation sessions, so you’re never left wondering what you’re supposed to be doing. Even 10 minutes of meditation a day will naturally make it easier for you to feel more present during sex. If ever there was a good argument for starting up a meditation practice, this is it. Set Yourself Up for Success The distractors that I hear about most frequently from my clients are clutter, electronics, and to-do lists. You can transform your bedroom a sex haven by making it a clutter- and electronics-free zone. If you’re a frequent to-do list ruminator, quickly jot down your list items before you go pounce on your partner. Take a moment to think about any other distraction triggers that you might have. Do you tend to get distracted if you know there are dirty dishes in the sink? Or maybe the peeling paint on the wall always catches your eye. Take any necessary steps to remove that distraction. Some distractors can be eliminated permanently, while others may require ongoing effort, but the idea is to try to create more mental space for yourself. You don’t want to create a situation where things have to be perfectly in place before you’re able to be intimate with your partner, but you can try to keep your usual distractions at a minimum. Expect Distraction If you’re like most people, you’ve probably had the experience of thinking about the cupcakes you need to bake for your kid’s soccer team, and the consequent feelings of guilt for thinking about baked goods while balls deep in your partner. You get so derailed by your frustration that you wind up getting even more distracted than you were by the original thought. The truth is that it’s impossible to be present and focused 100% of the time. You can’t stop your brain from thinking. You’re going to have unwanted (and incredibly random) thoughts pop into your head at all moments of the day, including during sex. If you have the expectation that your mind should be clear of all thoughts except for how much fun you’re having with your partner, you’re going to be bitterly disappointed. Instead, acknowledge that distraction is the price we pay for having brains. Try to reframe your goals and think about minimising distractions rather than eliminating them altogether. Don’t Fight Your Thoughts Trying to prevent yourself from thinking never works, and usually just intensifies the distraction. You’ve got to figure out a way to let the thoughts just be, without making them take up even more space. Headspace has a great metaphor where they compare mindfulness to sitting beside a busy intersection. Imagine that your thoughts are the cars driving down the roads. You can’t stop the flow of cars, but you can prevent yourself from hopping into one of the cars and driving off in it. Try to allow thoughts to pop into your head during sex, but don’t actively think about them. You may even find it useful to visualise them driving out of eyesight. Use Your Breath Focusing on your breath is one of the core principles of mindfulness. It’s a great way to let go of your thoughts and bring yourself back into the moment. When you feel yourself hopping into that little hot rod with one of your thoughts, take a deep breath and imagine gently opening the car door and escorting your brain out of the car. One particularly effective breathing technique is to imagine sending your breath down to your X-rated bits as you inhale, and back up to your nose as you exhale. This requires a bit of extra attention, and brings your focus back to your body. Narrate What’s Going On Here’s another super simple mindfulness technique that can work wonders during

Food / PONMO (COW SKIN) - What You Need To Know. by Jmaya(m): 2:48am On Oct 09, 2015
I know most of you might be wondering, " Ponmo ?' , 'Why Ponmo ?". Anyways the ongoing debate has made me weigh in on this delicious topic. There has been a threat of a ban hanging around the consumption of ponmo which has sparked Nigerians moving into a hot debate for or against it. Well, this post is aimed at bringing you to a decision about your view on Ponmo consumption . WHAT EXACTLY IS PONMO ? Cow hide/skin, popularly known as ponmo , is basically cow skin that has been processed to look similar to beef. There are two (known) varieties of ponmo. This classification is based on their mode of preparation and colour. One is usually white/cream/off-white in colour, while the other is brown. In the white/cream variety, the hide is removed from the skin by soaking in boiling water, and then using blade to shave off the hair; while in the brown variety, the hide and skin are subjected to a high level of heat, so as to burn out the hide (fur). After this process, the skin is then washed several times and then boiled for hours so as to ensure that it is softened. The skin is then sold in our markets as ponmo – a great delicacy and an important ingredient in the preparation of several stews in various cultures in Nigeria. Most Nigerians love ponmo so much that some believe a good day meal is incomplete without it. Ponmo is a regular sight at parties and several public outings, served in different formats. THE ARGUMENT The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, recently at the third joint anniversary of the Animal Science Association of Nigeria and the Nigeria Institute of Animal Science, held at the University of Ibadan with the theme: “Value addition in the Nigerian livestock industry: A strategy for economic growth and stakeholder’s empowerment.” said: "I am confident that the satisfactory production levels achieved in the poultry and swine segments will soon stretch to reach other commodities such as beef, dairy, micro livestock and animal by- products such as leather, bones, hides and skins." He further said that “I also commend NIAS for its advocacy and enlightenment programme on radio and television that promote value addition in livestock, as against sale and consumption of primary products alone, particularly with the issue of curtailing the widespread consumption of of hides and skins as ponmo , which ought to be tanned into leather for a very high dollar return to the farmer and tanneries. I expect that competent regulations acceptable by all stakeholders will develop so as to give credibility that our set standards for food safety are being implemented to boost value addition.” With that statement, it can be expected that very soon ponmo would be banned from our markets, pots and even our plates. NUTRITIONAL BENEFIT OF PONMO Despite the taste appeal ponmo delivers to your taste buds, it would be quite shocking for some of you to know that ponmo contains little next to nothing in terms of nutritional value. The nutritional analysis of a 40 gram piece of ponmo is: Calories (150g); Total fat (4g); Saturated fat (1g); Poly saturated fat (0g); Mono saturated fat (0g); Trans fat (0g); Cholesterol (0g); Sodium (0mg); Potassium (0mg); Total carbohydrate (0g); Dietary fibre (0g); Sugars (0 per cent); Proteins (0 per cent); Vitamin A (0 per cent); Vitamin C (0 per cent); Calcium (0 per cent); Iron (0 per cent). From the above, you need no telling that the consumption of ponmo gives nothing to your body. So, why are we so addicted to this piece of leather. POSSIBLE DANGER TO HEALTH According to a post on Punch, the Director- General of the Nigerian Institute of Leather Science and Technology, Zaria, Kaduna State, Dr. Isuwa Adamu, on Tuesday warned against the consumption of animal hides and skin, known locally as ponmo . He said: "it is not advisable for you to consume ponmo in the sense that some of the animals killed and used for ponmo actually have skin diseases. Some of these skin diseases are such that boiling them ordinarily may not kill the bacteria,’’. He added that some of the animals killed had been ill and undergoing injections but the rearers went ahead to kill them, leaving the buyers vulnerable to chemicals in the animal skin. The DG also added, “Some of the animals because of the ailments that they have gone through are sometimes treated by way of injection with chemicals. People don’t allow these chemicals to complete its cycle and be removed from the body; they sometimes go ahead to kill these animals. “So, if you consume the ponmo , the tendency is that you are consuming the chemicals directly because the skin part of the animal retains most of the harmful substances. In addition to this, during the production process of ponmo , the hides and skin are usually subjected to naked flames so as to enable the hides to burn off the skin. During the burning process, a lot of different unhygienic substances such as trash, wood, charcoal, rubber tires and so on, are thrown into the furnace to sustain the blazing heat. As the furnace burns, the combusting wood, gas, or charcoal emits chemicals known as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which finds its way into the smoked food and contaminates it. Exposure to PAHs is known to cause skin, liver, stomach and several other types of cancers in laboratory animals. In addition to this, epidemiological studies have found a positive statistical correlation between intestinal tract cancer and frequent intake of smoked food. These studies have also linked occupational exposure to PAHs to cancer in humans. Sad right?, but who cares. No one has ever died from ponmo consumption, no be so. But take a look at the ponmo below, tasty right? Do you know it is same as just a cooked italian leather bag/shoe? Your favorite brands Lois Vutton et al all use ponmo in manufacturing their products. You want your own locally made standard leather accessories? STOP YOUR PONMO CONSUMPTION TODAY. Do you have a contrary opinion on pomo consumption? Hit the comments section and lets hear your view. #BringBackOurPonmo or #GoodbyeDearPonmo ?

Business / 3 Things Stopping You From Achieving Your Dreams And Goals by Jmaya(m): 10:59pm On Sep 28, 2015
Am sorry if this thread is in the wrong section...

Many a time there are things that get in the way
of our dreams and goals. It could be you don’t
have money, right now, to start a business or buy
a piece of machinery you need. Maybe you can’t
seem to get yourself to study as much as you’d
like to.
Here’s one nugget of truth: for YOU to achieve
your goal, there are THREE simple things YOU
have to do. And here they are…
Ah ha!! Got you where I want you, right?! Jokes
aside, here they are:
Be Optimistic
What is optimism? “It is a tendency, disposition or
proclivity to look on the more favourable side of
events or conditions and to expect the most
favourable outcome.” – Dictionary.Reference
No matter what happens, things don’t always go
as planned or as we want them to, and it’s the
way it is. However, you have to keep going! That
is where the optimism lives.
Build up your self-esteem and get thicker skin. To
be able to trail new blazes or break new ground,
you need optimism otherwise you’ll be
discouraged as soon as wake up every morning.
Some days are tough, and all you have to fight it
in the end is self because you’re responsible for
your own happiness and success.
Don’t Wait For a Big Break
It is often shoved down our throats that we all
have a “day” when we’ll have our big break. It
may seem helpful or even “cool” to say such a
thing, but it really isn’t cool because it creates
some sort of expectation.
Don’t look forward to the day you’ll make it
because that will stop or delay you from moving
forward. Now is the right time to make your move
and do what you ought to do. Please.
Stop Complaining
Instead of complaining, assess the problem, find
the solution, and get on the offensive. Be an
offensive player; complaining is playing defence.
Defence is good but it won’t make you a winner.
Bonus: Don’t Fear Failure
Don’t fear failure so much that you refuse to try
new things. The fear of failure sometimes stops
us from achieving our dreams, becoming who or
what we want to be, starting a new relationship/
course/business/________ (fill in the blank).
If you’re absolutely determined to achieve,
become, start or finish you will overcome
anything to do it. Laugh in the face of fear, and
then do the thing that scares you!
Celebrities / Why I Did The Longest Freestyle On Radio — Vector by Jmaya(m): 5:44am On Sep 05, 2015
Ace rapper, Vector recently set a record of longest freestyle on radio in Nigeria. He was invited for the Rhythm Freestyle Fury where he rapped non -stop for 2 hours 30 minutes. In a chat with Showtime, the talented rapper revealed why he engaged in it.

Vector
“It’s just to create an excitement around the genre hip-hop and pretty much just do what we can .The whole industry is very cliché .We are not trying to do anything extra outside dance with our talents. While we are still making dance music, it only makes sense for us to do record breaking things and also make history.”
Speaking on how prepared he was before the show, he says he wasn’t prepared.
“I didn’t prepare for it. How do you prepare for freestyle? Everything I rapped about people sent it to the station via social media so I didn’t prepare anything. All I was thinking of is, ‘ God don’t let them come up with stupid topics’ and as usual somebody said I should rap about Akara.”

Education / How To Stop Comparing Yourself To Others And Start Getting Ahead by Jmaya(m): 1:58pm On Jul 18, 2015
With so much competition in the world, it’s easy to get discouraged and feel jealous of other people’s success. It’s also perfectly natural to compare yourself to friends and coworkers, though confidence coach Steve Errey says it can lead to the kind of defeatist thinking that keeps you from getting ahead. In a great Daily Muse post titled “ The 3 Most Insane Ways You’re Comparing Yourself to Others—Plus, How to Snap Out of It ,” Erry offers tips for overcoming wrongheaded thinking and moving forward with your own career. His strategy involves outlining three beliefs everyone should lose if they want to maintain a healthy, positive mindset. First up: “Other people have all the luck.” As Errey says, this is a dangerous form of envy because it comes “without recognition of your own capability” and “without effort, with a sprinkling of ignorance.” In other words, other people achieve things not because of luck, but because they work to make them happen, and instead of dwelling on this nebulous concept of luck, you should seek out ways to prove yourself. And luck isn’t the only thing you’re likely to see yourself as lacking. The second belief, “Other people have something I don’t,” speaks to that sinking suspicion we all get about not being good enough. As Errey says, it’s “crazy” to compare your worst qualities to the best you perceive in others, and while it’s true that some people are more talented than you, some have less skill and ability, and at the end of the day, these things are only as important as you make them out to be. “It’s one thing to compare avocados for ripeness or bed linens for luxuriousness, but comparing your insides with someone else’s outsides is BS,” Errey says. Finally, Errey takes on this common lament: “Other people are more successful than me.” Here, he says, the issue has to do with the concept of success. It’s different for everyone, and what’s more, it’s a “moving target” that changes all the time. They key is recognize how you define the word. Do you value working for a team that does great things, or would you rather be your own boss and run a business? Those are just two of the possibilities you might consider. “Until you define your version of success,” Errey writes, “it will forever remain a comparative concept where others are always more successful than you.”

Politics / We’ll Stamp Out Insurgency – Osinbajo by Jmaya(m): 11:59am On Jul 18, 2015
The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Friday said the Federal Government was committed to stamping out the activities of insurgents in the country. Osinbajo said this in Gombe when he paid a condolence visit to families that lost their loved one to the Gombe central market twin blasts on Thursday. Osinbajo, “The incident is unfortunate; we are convinced we are going to stamp out insurgency in the country,” he said. Osinbajo said he was directed by President Mohammadu Buhari, to commiserate with the people of Gombe over the incident. “This morning when we paid the President Sallah homage, he asked me to come to Gombe to commiserate with the people, the Emir and governor of Gombe over the terrible incident that happened. “He said I should let them know that we are with them; we heard about the death of men, women and children and we feel your pains. “People should be rejoicing in celebration of Sallah but instead they are mourning; it is unfortunate,” he said. Osinbajo said it was the duty of the government to protect the lives and properties of the citizenry. “I salute the braveness of Gombe people. In spite of the unfortunate incident they are still in the market “This is because they know, it is only God that can protect them, men can only do their best,” he said. Governor Dankwambo, in his speech, thanked the Osinbajo for the visit, adding that the people of Gombe State were highly honoured with the gesture. The Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu, also thanked the vice president for the visit. He said the visit did not come to him as surprise considering the love Buhari and Osinbajo had for Gombe people and the entire north east. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that, the vice president visited the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, to see the victims of the blast. He also visited the scene of the blast and some bereaved families. It would be recalled that a twin blasts at Gombe central market on Thursday claimed over 50 lives and left many people wounded.
Politics / MUST READ - OBJ Said Some Interesting Things About Jonathan's Administration by Jmaya(m): 10:20am On Jul 18, 2015
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is definitely no longer a fan of Goodluck Jonathan and has taken yet another jab at the former president. Obasanjo, who did not spare Jonathan the length of his tongue in the build-up to the 2015 general election, said on Friday that Jonathan misused the opportunity that the minority ethnic group had in producing the president of the country. He went further to say that the consequence of Jonathan’s actions while in office would affect the Niger delta for a long time. Obasanjo made these remarks while responding to questions after delivering a lecture at Benson Idahosa University, Benin city, Edo state. He said "You can help anybody to get a job but you cannot help him to do it. There is no particular person who got there without the people. I believe that the opportunity that afforded itself in 2010 was for somebody from the minority to become the president of Nigeria. We should never lose such opportunity but what he did with that opportunity is entirely up to him. What he did or did not do with it will reflect for a long time on that part of the country." He continued by saying "And don’t take that lightly, what he did or did not do with it, will reflect for a long time on that part of the country. For those blaming me, was I the only person that supported him? I was not the 18 million voters who voted for him. Who did you vote for, is it not Jonathan?" Obasanjo expressed confidence in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and suggested that education should be used as a tool in the fight against insurgency. Obasanjo noted that social media could play a key role in the war against Boko Haram, saying it could be used to re-orientate the militants. In his words: "Education is a moral enterprise which we need to re-engage, the issue of Boko Haram. President Buhari should also tackle it (insurgency) from the angle of moral education, if we are able to tackle Boko Haram with education in our schools, both in the social media that they use, we will dilute their messages and positively win their hearts. The capacity of all teachers would be strengthened to deliver such messages; morning and afternoon assemblies of our primary and secondary schools should have a strong dose of such messages, our airwaves and social media should also be saturated with such positive messages even if we defeat Boko Haram on the battle front, we need education to sustain the victory." We recall that Obasanjo and Jonathan’s relationship broke down after Jonathan won the 2011 election and efforts to reconcile the duo did not yield fruits. It is still believed that Obasanjo’s lack of support for Jonathan contributed to Jonathan’s loss of the March 28 election.

Celebrities / Rapper Young Thug And Birdman Allegedly Plotted To Kill Lil Wayne. by Jmaya(m): 10:12am On Jul 18, 2015
Cash Money CEO Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams, rapper Young Thug and other members of their entourage have been named in an indictment alleging they conspired to kill rapper Lil Wayne over a business dispute. Channel 2 Action News has uncovered an indictment filed in Cobb County in June that alleges Williams and another rapper named Bryan Williams, aka Birdman, were involved in a RICO conspiracy to kill Lil Wayne when his tour bus was shot up in April. The indictment also says all of the men are members of the Bloods gang. The indictment alleges that Dwayne Carter (Lil Wayne) and Bryan Williams (Birdman) had a business dispute concerning Lil Wayne’s contract with Cash Money Records. Lil Wayne owns a portion of the record label. Birdman is one of the co-founders of the record label. Lil Wayne later dismissed the lawsuit “due to venue issues while problems continued between (Lil Wayne) and (Birdman).” The indictment alleges that Young Thug made a threat against Lil Wayne and tour bus shooting suspect Jimmy Winfrey carried out that threat. Winfrey is also known as “PeeWee Roscoe” and affiliated with Rich Gang. Birdman is a part of the Rich Gang rap group which was formed by Cash Money Records in 2013. The indictment goes on to say that Winfrey was driving the white Chevy Camaro that fired shots at Lil Wayne’s tour buses the night of April 26 after a police escort left the buses. “After Atlanta Police discontinued their escort, (Winfrey) and fellow Blood Gang members entered Interstate 285 from Atlanta Road in Cobb County in pursuit of the buses occupied by (Lil Wayne’s) group,” the indictment says. “(That’s when) the white sports car pulled beside the buses, shots were then fired into the buses from the sports car with a .40 caliber handgun and a 9mm handgun.” The indictment goes on to say Winfrey had a photo of the Camaro posted on his Instagram account and attempted to erase it following the shooting. The Camaro was later found at the home of one of Winfrey’s relatives. Young Thug and Birdman have not been charged in the incident. Winfrey’s next court appearance is Friday....

Education / When Discipline Goes Too Far: See What A Principal Did To This Student's Butt by Jmaya(m): 10:44pm On Jul 08, 2015
The extremes some of these school officials
go in terms of punishment.
Principal of Government College Ughelli,
Delta State, Mr Vincent Osi, may have just
crossed the line between discipline and
abuse in a very big way. See full story and
graphic photo after the jump:
According to a report from Bassey James,
the student in question by the name of
Oruma Osi got into a fight with a fellow
student over the use of his spoon. As
punishment to the crime, Mr. Vincent took
out a cane, told Oruma to lie on a table and
gave him 100 lashes which left permanent
marks on the poor student's buttocks.

Politics / Nigerians Will Beg Us To Return In 2019, Vows Pdp (do You Agree?) by Jmaya(m): 10:33pm On Jul 07, 2015
Following the crisis rocking the ruling All
Progressives Congress, the Peoples
Democratic Party has said Nigerians will
beg it (PDP) to come back to power in
2019.
The National Vice Chairman, South-South
Zone, of the PDP, Dr. Cairo Ojugbou, made
this remark on Monday at the party’s zonal
secretariat in Port Harcourt, the Rivers
State capital.
Ojugbou, who criticised the APC for not
been able to manage the recent crisis
engulfing it, explained that the ruling party
had shown that it lacked coordination and
ideology.
On the Rivers and Akwa Ibom State
tribunals going on in Abuja, the PDP
national vice chairman expressed optimism
that the PDP would win.
He added that no amount of intimidation
would make the party lose elections that it
won squarely, adding that the people of
Akwa Ibom and Rivers voted for the PDP.
Ojugbou said, “Rivers and Akwa Ibom State
tribunals are sitting in Abuja. No amount of
intimidation will make the PDP lose the
elections it won freely and fairly in these
states. Any move to rig us out will be
resisted.”
He disclosed that the PDP has set up a
committee led by the former Kaduna State
Governor, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, adding
that the committee was in Port Harcourt to
receive memorandum on how the party can
get back to power at the centre in the 2019
general elections.
The PDP national vice chairman, however,
restated that stance of his party on the
appointment of Hajia Amina Zakari as the
acting Chairman of the Independent
National Electoral Commission, maintaining
that such an appointment remains
unacceptable.
According to him, “We have said that the
appointment of Amina is completely
unacceptable to us. The example that ex-
President (Goodluck) Jonathan gave should
be followed. We know Amina is not
apolitical.”
Speaking on the leadership crisis affecting
the PDP in Bayelsa State, Ojugbou
explained that a committee had been
established to ensure that peace reigned in
the state PDP.

Family / Peacemaker Meets His End While Trying To Separate Warring Neighbours In Lagos . by Jmaya(m): 2:16pm On Jul 06, 2015
A peacemaker got more than he
bargained for while tying to separate two
warring neighbours as he was stabbed to
death in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State.
The peacemaker, identified as Kunle
Abiola, was reportedly trying to separate
two neighbours when one of them,
identified as Chinomso, allegedly stabbed
him to death.
Chinomso, who had since been arrested
by policemen, said he did it by accident,
claiming that he never thought of
stabbing him.An eyewitness, who simply
identified himself as Kenneth, said:
“The two men were quarrelling over a
minor issue which later degenerated into
fisticuffs.
“Kunle came and pleaded with the two of
them to stop fighting. He pleaded with
both men, but they refused to listen.”
Another witness, Ibrahim, said residents
were still in a shock on what led to the
death of Kunle and that only the arrested
suspect could say why he stabbed the
man.
Ibrahim said:
“He stabbed Kunle in the jaw and chest.
Some people called the police. Chinomso
was arrested. Kunle was rushed to the
General Hospital at Ajegunle.”
Kunle Abiola was said to have died on the
way to the hospital.

Celebrities / Eva Alordiah Gives Suggestions To A Better Nigeria In Open Letter by Jmaya(m): 8:38pm On Jun 06, 2015
Rapper Eva Alordiah published an open letter
to the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu
Buhari on her blog.
In the letter she makes suggestions for a
better Nigeria based on what the people need
and what she has experienced in neighboring
countries.
She wrote:
Dear Mr President Buhari sir,
What a pleasure it is to send you
a letter my man!
Kai kai kai! I am so honored to
be communicating with you like
this yo.
I am going to go straight to the
point and skip all unnesscesary
mumbo-jumbo.
There are two sides to everything
Mr President and the only way
you are going to take our dear
Nigeria to canaan is by
understanding this fact and
knowing what to do with this
information.
Lucky for you I have done that
job and all you have to do now
is pay me daddy!
Now there are two sides to what
Nigeria needs. There is your side,
and there is the peoples’ side.
You know your side, and it must
be a really good thing you have
planned because the mighty God
I serve couldn’t have put you in
this position by mistake **except
of cause you think you got here
by sheer luck or votes of the
people** Taahh!
You have to know what the
peoples’ side is Mr President.
What are our needs, what do we
yearn for, what do we need to
heal our souls, how can we put
us on the paths that would help
our dreams come true. We are
the ones living through the
severe hardship of our great
country, We are the ones
working for the country despite
the inhumane conditions we
have to work in. We have tried
our best so far and we have
done well. Just imagine how
much further we could take this
country to with your help and
dedication.
If I were in your shoes, which I
sincerely do not think I am
worthy of, (I’d stick to my
stilettos thank you very much) I
would listen to the Nigerian
people.
The only way you can change
this country is by doing for us. If
you do for us then you do for
yourself too.
I sha know you are where you
are by grace and by grace you
will succeed at moving Nigeria
forward, in Jesus Christ name,
Amen
Today 1st of June is
Independence day here in Kenya
and I am staring out into the
most amazing view of trees and
greenery thinking how so
beautiful this place is.
Take a trip Mr President, to
Kenya. See bah, you don’t even
have to go too far guy, only
Kenya, our next day neighbour
fa.
It is heaven here guy!! Not
entirely though, because the
people have troubles of their
own too. They have security
issues just as much as every
other country does, they have
corruption in high places too.
But they are the most happy
people I have ever being around.
The place is soooooooo beautiful
and life here feels like what life
should be in Nigeria if we could
just put in a little effort.
3 things I brought home with me
from Nairobi?
1. They Love genuinely!
The Kenyans just love. They care
about one and another and they
do things, not just because there
is something in it for them but
because they believe when they
do for one, they do for self.
Love.
This is what the Universe
operates on. Can you inspire and
instil the value of one love in the
hearts of the Nigerian people?
2. They enjoy 24 hours electricity
supply. Everywhere. If the power
has to go off, the people are
notified. You know what this
does? You know what this
means? This means that
businesses work without the
extra hustle that lack of power
brings! And if businesses are
working the people are
successful. If the people are
successful, the country is
successful.
If you do not do anything at all,
please give the Nigerian people
constant power supply. I say this
on behalf of every Nigerian. We
all know how this can improve
every sector of the Nigerian
economy so I would not make
this letter longer than should be
by stating the obvious.
3. If you cannot do No.1 and
No.2 I sincerely doubt you would
be able to do anything at all. So
lets keep it at 1 and 2 and when
you have accomplished those, I’d
write you yet another letter to
tell you the third most important
thing I got from Kenya.
Now I really like you guy. Prior
to becoming the President,
congratulations again, I heard a
lot of things about you. Bad
things. And some good. You
know how people are, people
talk, and boy was there much
talk on your matter! I didn’t
make any judgement of you
however. I don’t roll like that. I
have decided to make my own
personal assessment of you
myself based on what I
experience during your time.
So far I think I like you. You are
the kind of guy I could have my
morning coffee with. With Mr
Jega of course. I like that guy.
Don’t lose him.
I was also thinking it would be a
really cool thing to work for you.
Like I said, I like you.
I could be your special adviser
on youth affairs and extra-
curricular activities. With my
position and influence in
Entertainment and Music, I am
quite confident that creating a
direct communication pathway
between your government and
the Nigerian youth would be an
easy feat for me. Although I
charge by the hour, I promise
not to go overboard with my
billing. Think about this.
Please note however, there are a
lot of issues you have to deal
with in Nigeria don’t get me
wrong. Power is just one of
them. There are issues with
Education, Transportation,
Corruption, Health services,
Energy, Security…the list is
endless and I’d hate to scatter
your head just yet. You sef sabi
this thing.
My Nigerian friends online are
going to be sending in comments
below this post to tell you what
they want and how they think
your Government can move
Nigeria forward. Please be
prepared there would be a lot of
comments.
You see I have begun my duties
and we haven’t even made my
position official. I do this Mr
President Buhari sir. I do this!
Do not forget what I said kind
Sir, there is your side, and there
is the Nigerian side. Remember
God speaks through men, if you
listen to the people, you listen to
God.
I like you Mr President Buhari
Sir. I think I might really like
you. My Album “1960” drops
next week! I’d send you an
autographed physical copy,
please send a picture holding it
up will you? Thank you! God
bless you. God bless Nigeria.
Dear Nigerians, this is your
moment, The President is
reading this. Have something to
say? Some suggestions maybe?
Please air your views and
opinions in the comments below.
Say it. As e dey do you for bodi,
just say it.
