Seyi Tinubu Denies Allegations from NANS Factional President Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigeria's President, has refuted recent claims made by a factional leader of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Atiku Isah, who accused him of attempted bribery, abduction, and assault. Responding via his Instagram story on Friday, May 2, Seyi Tinubu expressed disbelief over the allegations, calling them a smear campaign aimed at damaging his reputation. "Wow... how can someone lie with so much confidence? This is clearly an attempt to tarnish my character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah," he wrote. He went on to clarify that he has never met or communicated with Atiku Isah in any capacity. "I have never held any meeting to discuss any issue with Comrade Isah, not in Lagos or anywhere else in the world. I have never met him before. I have never visited any place accompanied by thugs. These accusations are completely false," Seyi added. His response came shortly after Atiku Isah publicly alleged that Seyi Tinubu was involved in coercive and unlawful activities targeting him. https://blog.iyebi.com/seyi-tinubu-denies-allegations-from-nans-factional-president/

Bay Area Woman Scammed Out of $160K by Fake Keanu Reeves Using AI Technology A woman from the Bay Area has come forward after losing over $160,000 to a scammer who impersonated actor Keanu Reeves using sophisticated artificial intelligence tools. The victim, Dianne Ringstaff, says the scam began with a seemingly innocent message on the popular word game app, Words With Friends. Ringstaff explained that she was initially skeptical of the message claiming to be from the Hollywood star Keanu Reeves, known for his roles in The Matrix, Speed, and John Wick. However, her doubts began to fade after video calls and voice messages from the individual, which she said looked and sounded just like the real actor. "I couldn’t believe it. He looked like him, he sounded like him. I thought it was real," Ringstaff said. The two remained in contact for more than two years. Over time, the person posing as Reeves claimed to be involved in a legal dispute with a former manager, falsely alleging that the FBI had planted drugs in his home and that his assets were frozen. He requested large sums of money in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to resolve these issues. Despite asking questions, including why the alleged Reeves didn’t have access to a bank account, Ringstaff says she was emotionally vulnerable after losing her boyfriend and later her dog in 2022. She took out a home equity loan and sold her car, ultimately losing more than $160,000. Authorities later informed Ringstaff that the scammers had also used her financial accounts to launder money from other victims. "That’s when it really hit me. I was devastated," she shared. Cases like Ringstaff’s highlight the increasing dangers of romance scams in 2025, many of which use artificial intelligence to create realistic deepfakes and impersonate celebrities. According to experts, these scams have become one of the most common forms of fraud this year. "I just want people to know not to make the same mistake. Don’t trust anyone online unless you truly know them," said Ringstaff. "What I’ve learned is that technology can fake anything now—voices, faces, everything. I’ll never fall for it again."
