No, I'm not sure. There are different zones in Lagos , so you have to reach out to Legit Real Estate firms or Development agencies around your location or zone.

If you want to buy from a Real Estate firm ask them for the blueprints of that area. If you want to develop individually, then reach out to government development agencies.

I feel for those areas that have been resisting every attempt by government to clear all the houses built on waterways and canals, they are in for a long thing
If you want to buy property or rent a house,this is the best time to go about it,imagine renting a house and you start getting apprehensive anytime it rains
I will stop here and tell you,if you want to get a property use a professional that understands the topology of the area
Start with a surveyor before you bring any other professional for landed property,you can sue them if they misadvise you

My advice is worth a million

We shouldn't forget Lagos is a coastal city irrespective of the axis you find yourself ; mainland or island.

Most of this floods are caused by us. We casually throw plastic and nylons on the roads and in our canals.. This promotes flooding to an extent.

Then the people building indiscriminately on flood passages..

Lagos has a blueprints, Real Estate companies and Private individuals should adhere to this blueprints and we'll have a better Lagos!

I was in Florida recently. I observed that the place we went to had social amenities like excellent road networks, malls , hospitals even though it was a developing area terms of residential properties.

The roads and amenities were built first and that led to investors coming to put their money into the building of residential properties and other types of buildings.

In Nigeria it is is the opposite.

I understand where you're going boss..

Nigeria is still a third world country and our leaders aren't being forthcoming.

But to the earlier comment, Lagos can't be submerged just because of flooding.

If it's by the sea level rising then the Maldives and other places with lower elevations would first be submerged..

I have a morbid fear of anything in that axis. The flooding after the heavy rains are a no no for me. I can't be far way and be wandering what water has destroyed in the house.

Muiz Banire gave a prediction about this phenomenon way back around in the early 2000...that Lagos will be submerged by water in the near future

The Maldives is of lower elevation than most places here in Lagos yet it hasn't been submerged. So think about it.
