*Edo begins clampdown on unregistered vehicles August 1, sets up c’ttee* *_…violators risk prosecution, says Shaibu_* The Edo State Government will, from August 1, 2022, begin a clampdown on all unregistered vehicles across the state. The Edo State Acting Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, while constituting a task force to enforce the clampdown at the Government House, Benin City, charged owners and operators of unregistered vehicles in the state to register such vehicles on or before 31st July, 2022 to avoid prosecution. The acting governor said the directive became imperative following the need to sustain security in the state, noting that recent security findings have revealed how criminal elements operate in the state using unregistered vehicles. The task force is headed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Osasere Evbuomwan, while the Commissioner for Local Government, Monday Osaigbovo is a member. Other members of the committee are drawn from the Edo State Internal Generated Revenue Service (EIRS), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Edo Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV), and the Nigerian Police. Shaibu said, “All motorcycles, tricycles, and vehicles, both private and commercial, especially Toyota Yaris, must be registered in the state. We are giving them till July 31, 2022, to register as any vehicle that is not registered will be seized. "We urge them to comply or face the consequences of disobeying government directives. We want to ensure that these vehicles are providing legal services in the state as our findings have shown that some of these people provide illegal services with their vehicles.” The acting governor added, “The Edo State Government is working to ensure a peaceful and safe state for our people. We are dealing with security issues in our state. We want to clear our state of criminal elements.” Warning that violators of the government’s directive will be prosecuted in accordance with the state’s extant laws, Shaibu noted, “The registration will help us to also guarantee the safety of your vehicles as the particulars of the vehicles and plate numbers will be used to trace such a missing vehicle.” He continued: “If you want a safe Edo State, please register your vehicles. We urge cart pushers in the state not to allow themselves to be used for criminal activities or else they will be made to face the full wrath of the law. Let me also reiterate that the ban on motorcycles within the Benin metropolis still remains. "Vehicle owners must carry out a background check before giving their vehicles to drivers because any vehicle whose driver is caught using such a vehicle for kidnapping or any other criminal activity, such vehicle owners will be arrested along with the drivers and they will be duly prosecuted.” |
*Obaseki celebrates Okowa at 63, lauds contributions to national devt* The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has congratulated his Delta State counterpart, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, on his 63rd birthday, lauding his contribution to the development of Delta State and Nigeria. Obaseki said: “On behalf of the Government and people of Edo State, I congratulate my dear brother and friend, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, as he celebrates his 63rd birthday. “Governor Okowa has demonstrated commitment to the betterment of his people and continues to serve as a democrat who believes in the unity and progress of Nigeria.” He added, “As we prepare for the 2023 Presidential election, I am confident that as Vice Presidential candidate of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Okowa will have the opportunity to extend his impactful programmes across Nigeria. I wish you excellent health and God’s continued guidance as we all work to rescue Nigeria.” |
*CSO charges INEC chair, Edo REC on improved voters’ registration in Edo North* A civil society organisation, the Network of Civil Society Organisations of Nigeria (NOCSON) has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deploy more registration machines to Edo North Senatorial District to address the insufficiency in human and material resources in the wake of the surge in registrations in the senatorial district. Speaking during a press conference in Benin, President of NOCSON, Ogbidi Emmanuel, called on the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and the Edo State Resident Commissioner of the electoral body, Dr. Johnson Alalibo, to address the situation so as not to deny potential voters in the senatorial district their electoral rights. According to him, “It has come to the attention of NUCSON that the Edo North Senatorial District is lagging behind in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR). This is evident from the feeders from our foot soldiers and members, signifying strongly that the ongoing INEC registration exercise in the country is not being pursued vigorously in the district. “The statistical distribution across the six local government areas of the district reveals that the data from the district is deplorably disproportionate relative to other districts in the state. Our findings reveal that there are not enough registration centres, INEC registration machines and personnel available in the district, thereby limiting access for potential voters to register.” “This scenario portends both disenfranchisement of Edo North voters willing to vote in the 2023 general elections and undermining their electoral rights. The leadership and members of NOCSON as well as other stakeholders are by this press conference calling on the Chairman of INEC and particularly the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Edo State to, as a matter of urgency, activate the process of registering more eligible voters,” he charged. The group called for increase in the number of registration centres across the six LGAs in the district, including Etsako East, Etsako West, Etsako Central, Owan West, Owan East and Akoko Edo LGAs; provision of more data capturing machines to cover the six LGAs and deployment of enough personnel to man the eventual machines to be deployed to the various centres. *PHOTO CAPTION* *DSC_01* President, Network of Civil Society Organisations of Nigeria (NOCSON), Ogbidi Emmanuel; Public Relations Officer, NOCSON, Bevy Efek; members, NOCSON, Osamage Eghobamien, and Chigozie Sandra Osahenrumwen, during a press conference in Benin City, on Thursday, July 7, 2022. |
*Shaibu charges outgoing corps members on creativity, entrepreneurship* The Edo State Acting Governor, Rt. Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu, has urged corps members to apply their creativity and entrepreneurial skills acquired during the compulsory one-year National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) to secure a means of livelihood and become employers of labour. Shaibu said this during the passing-out parade of 2021 Batch 'B' Stream 1 Corps members, held at Imaguero Secondary School in Benin City, the Edo State capital. The acting governor, who congratulated the corps members for the successful completion of the one-year programme, said it is proof of the endurance and abiding faith in the unity of Nigeria. He said, “Your various contributions to the social development of Edo State in the areas of education, healthcare, agriculture, social service and rural infrastructure will be forever cherished by the government and the good people of Edo State and the country at large. “I urge the corps members to utilize their experience gained during the service year and the available opportunities to establish small-scale enterprises which will make you self-employed and employers of labour.” Shaibu urged, "Never allow yourself to be used for political, religious and tribal brawls but rather be good ambassadors of the scheme. As a nation, we are going through serious security problems and those used to perpetuate evils are youths. Rather than being a part of these, we should protect our nations as we are the leaders of tomorrow and the future belongs to us.” Reassuring support for youths in the state, the acting governor further stated, “We place a high premium on youth development and abhor youth restiveness. This is why the welfare of corps members in our state is given due attention.” Comrade Shaibu also expressed appreciation to the corps members for their various community-based projects in various local government areas across the state, noting that they are in line with the government’s agenda of making Edo great again. Earlier, while delivering her welcome address, the Edo State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Abiodun Olubukola thanked the government for providing enabling environment for the corps members to contribute their quota to the service of their fatherland in the past one year. She said, “Today, a total of 1,503 corps members are passing-out; 18 others who absconded have to repeat the entire service year in another location, while four others will have their service year extended.” Three corps members, including Segun Damilola, Abere Fadilat and Anyanwu Chimama, were honoured for distinguishing themselves throughout the service year. *PHOTO CAPTION* *DSC_01* L-R: National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Segun Damilola; Edo State Acting Governor Rt. *Children’s Day: Obaseki pledges improved welfare, sustained investment in education for a better future* The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has said his government will sustain investment in the education sector to guarantee a better future for children in the state. Obaseki, in a statement to commemorate this year’s Children’s Day, promised to improve the welfare of Edo children, ensuring that they are provided with the environment, skills and opportunities to realize their fullest potential. He said, “Today, we celebrate those who bear our hope for a brighter future, our children. We reinstate our administration’s commitment to the protection and welfare of these children, giving them a voice and providing them with the environment, skills and opportunities to achieve their dreams and live life to the fullest. “As a government, we understand the important role education plays in achieving an all-round development of a child and will continue to invest massively in education, upgrading our school infrastructure and bequeathing our children with the knowledge to compete favourably in a technology-driven 21st century. The governor, who assured that reforms and policies being implemented in the state’s basic education sector would encourage parents to send their children to school, added that “The Edo State Government through the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (Edo-BEST) programme is improving learning outcomes and providing a robust opportunity for children to get a quality basic education.” Obaseki said his government has strengthened institutions in the state to enforce the Child Rights Law, to ensure that children are protected from abuses, especially child labour. He added, “The state government is currently embarking on the prosecution of parents and guardians of out-of-school children as part of measures to take all children off the streets and improve access to education. We have also enacted the Violence Against Persons (VAP) law to protect children from all forms of abuse which include the use of children for cheap labour, thereby denying them the chance to actualise their future aspirations.”

*As Ogbeide Ihama loses out of Edo PDP primaries, Orbih, Ihama, others move to NNPP* Following the inability of the member of the House of Representatives representing Oredo Federal Constituency, Hon. Ogbeide Ihama to secure the ticket of the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Edo South Senatorial zone, Vice Chairman of the PDP in the South-South, Chief Dan Orbih, alongside Hon. Ihama and other members of the PDP loyal to Orbih have begun move to decamp to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). Hon. Ogbeide Ihama managed to secure only one vote out of the 227 votes cast at the Daniel Obiora-led five-man PDP Senatorial Primary Election Committee for Edo South Senatorial ticket conducted on Monday, May 23, 2022, at the indoor sports complex of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City. Having lost his ticket, the two-term member of the House of Representatives for Oredo Federal Constituency alongside, Chief Dan Orbih, Harrison Omagbon and Hillary Otsu have reached out to a leader within the NNPP, Ibrahim Kwankwaso ahead of the decamping move to the party. According to a source close to Hon. Ihama, the active talks with Ibrahim Kwankwaso on the plans to dump the PDP for NNPP include an arrangement for Harrison Omagon to serve as Edo State Chairman of the NNPP, while Hillary Otsu acts as Secretary, and Ogbeide Ihama as the Edo South Senatorial Candidate of the NNPP for the 2023 elections. |
https://www.godwinobaseki.com/News/obaseki-receives-atiku-in-benin-as-presidential-aspirant-pledges-to *Obaseki receives Atiku in Benin, as presidential aspirant pledges to prioritise education* The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Friday, received a presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who was on the visit to seek the support of the governor and PDP delegates ahead of the PDP primary election. The governor received the presidential aspirant and former Vice President, along with his entourage at the Government House, Benin City. Atiku, while soliciting the governor’s support, said if elected, he will prioritize investment in education. He said, “Investment in education is key for me and if you can recall what the PDP government did then in power, we created TETFUND, primary school education fund, and education tax to enable us provide sufficient money for both state and local governments to enable them have sufficient money to invest in primary and secondary education. ”We also passed the law to make education compulsory for every Nigerian child from primary to secondary school.” Atiku, however, decried that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressive Congress (APC) government misappropriated the fund, adding, “This affected the level of education, and today the number of out-of-school children in Nigeria is higher.” On zoning, he noted, “We said in future, zoning decisions should be taken in six months before the commencement of primaries so it will be settled before anything else. The PDP is the originator of zoning and power rotation. Now that it is open, all aspirants have equal opportunities.” Atiku said he will sit with the party to agree on a running mate for the 2023 presidential election. *Need to rein in Orbih, Ogbeide-Ihama’s recklessness in the interest of Edo PDP* The unfolding drama trailing the outcome of the ward congress to elect 3 adhoc delegates for the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) primaries in Edo State has outed the National Vice Chairman, South-South of the PDP, Chief Dan Osi Orbih and member representing Oredo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, as divisive elements within Edo PDP. In the last few weeks, there has been a deliberate campaign of calumny to rubbish the conduct of the poll by the Dr. Kingsley Emu-led Edo PDP Ward adhoc Congress Electoral Committee. The thrust of the campaign by these detractors is that either the congress is declared invalid or that they would disrupt the conduct of the scheduled party primaries to elect members to the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate, in the state. To achieve this and to the befuddling of party members , supporters and the general public, they have once again approached a federal high court in Abuja in pursuit of their dastardly plan. For the record and to state the truth of the matter, the delegates election held on April 30th 2022, and was duly supervised by a team from the National headquarters of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) led by Dr. Emu. It is a fact and indisputable. It is therefore rather unfortunate that some elements within the party in the state, namely Chief Dan Orbih and Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, for their selfish interest, have deliberately muddied the waters so as to cause confusion and deceive unsuspecting party members on the authenticity of an exercise that has the imprimatur of the party at both the State and National level. For their gains, they want to mortgage the fortunes of the party, preferring that party members rather live in the dark, when they ought to know the true state of things and make informed decisions especially as the general elections beckon. From the onset, Orbih and Ogbeide-Ihama claimed that they have the party structure under their control, boasting that delegates across the three senatorial districts are answerable to them. If that were the case, one wonders why they have suddenly become fidgety over the outcome of the adhoc delegates election. An election that is determined by the generality of card carrying members across the 192 wards in Edo State. A vast majority of our party members spoke on April 30th, but Orbih and Ogbeide-Ihama are stuck in the politics of a few rules the majority! Their behavior calls their democratic credentials to question. It is clear Orbih and Ogbeide-Ihama have an agenda that is detrimental to the growth and development of the party and certainly other party members too. Or how else do they explain the running to the courts to shop for injunctions when they refused to even send petitions, probably because their grievances lack merit, and then avail themselves of the opportunity of presenting their grievances to the appeal panel empaneled by the National Working Committee of the party which Chief Orbih is a member. It is obvious Orbih is not a team player. He cannot operate in an ecosystem where his word is not Law. It’s unfortunate that he has allowed the narrative that Edo PDP was an effective opposition when he was Chairman get to his head. Edo PDP was built by many men and women who sacrificed their time, resources and privileges. Chief Dan Orbih was just one of the many! He is acting like the appointed Managing Director of a company who after his tenure claims he owns the company! It is pertinent to state that Orbih and Ogbeide-Ihama keep interfering with the activities of government in a state that is controlled by the party just because they feel they want to maintain their supposed control of the party. The common and continual mischiefs of Chief Orbih and Hon Ogbeide-Ihama are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of wise men and women of the party to discourage and restrain them. Their actions serves always to distract the public and enfeeble the government . It agitates the community with ill-founded reasonings and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, fomenting insurrection. This fire must be quenched, it demands a uniform vigilance to prevent its bursting into a flame else it will consume our beloved party! They thwarted the process of the local government election by sponsoring court cases to scuttle the conduct of the local council polls, which preparations had been made for by the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC). This caused the party to lose out on the opportunity of having its members participate and possibly occupy positions at the local government level as local government chairmen and councillors. This has also denied the people representation at the grassroot. By their actions, the duo has denied up to seven hundreds party members from participating in the political process and causing the party to lose out on the opportunity of filling critical positions in government. It must be stressed unequivocally that two people cannot be greater than the party. That is why it is called Peoples' Democratic Party and not two peoples party. The actions of these two men have caused the party great harm by limiting the participation of party members in governance. With the general elections just eight months away, one wonders how these supposed leaders would work with other genuine and concerned members to lead the party to victory in the state. We beckon on elders of the party to call Chief Dan Orbih and Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama to order and cause them to desist from their atavistic and self-serving activities. The primary election is a litmus test. The duo must do away with their recklessness and threats. We want a strong and united party so that we can be assured of cruising to victory in the coming general elections. Signed *For: Concerned Stakeholders Edo PDP* *Victor Enoghama* *Ighodaro Ugiagbe*

*ICCOBA 1992 30th anniversary: Explore partnership opportunities with govt, Edo charges old boys* The Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Hon. Andrew Emwanta, has called on the Immaculate Conception College, Benin, Old Boys Association (ICCOBA) to explore opportunities of collaboration with the Edo State Government, as a means to institutionalize the ideals of the school's 1992 set. Emwanta made the call at a dinner party organised by ICCOBA to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the graduation of the 1992 set in Benin City, the Edo State capital. The commissioner who highlighted various ways the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki has fostered development in key areas such as education, health, infrastructures, sports, training and retraining of the state public and civil servants, power sector, workers welfare, and among others, said there was need for ICCOBA to join hands in moving the state forward. According to him, “The government of the day under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki is doing so much. Recently, the state House of Assembly considered a bill for an energy commission that will make it possible for all Edo people to have access to 24 hours power through Ossiomo Power Company. “This is not because the Nigeria government has provided this platform, but because Edo wants to do things differently. There is no state in Nigeria where businesses are sure of 24 hours electricity supply. In our production centres, people who do business there enjoy 24-hours power supply and as they say, without energy, the wheels of industry cannot move. “For ICCOBA, I will appeal to you, to look for ways to collaborate with the state government. Other old boys associations are building mini estates. Once you want your Certificate of Occupancy (C-of- O), it will be very easy to get an approval. That's the way you can institutionalize your class and your set", he said. On his part, the Special Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Media Projects, Mr. Crusoe Osagie, a member of the class of 1992 set, described the 30th anniversary of the set as significant, saying that it would enable them to share ideas. “It's been quite a significant celebration. It's been three decades since we left secondary school. We think this is a major milestone. We are at the middle passage of our lives, we think it's important to come together for those of us who are still here. Many have gone to be with the Lord. “But some of us are still here alive and well, we think it's important to come together and rub minds, share ideas, and begin to chart the course for the future. “In another three decades, we are going to be very old men. There is no better time than now to celebrate ourselves, to enjoy our company together and to forge the future of our people and our state together,” he said. In his remarks, the National President of ICCOBA, Mr. Ighodalo Edetanlen, who left ICC 37 years ago, described the 1992 set as very strong and well organized, noting that he is very proud of them. *PHOTO CAPTION* *DSC_01* Members of the Immaculate Conception College, Benin, Old Boys Association (ICCOBA) 1992 set, during an event to mark the set’s 30th anniversary in Benin City.\

*Workers' Day: Obaseki assures on gains of e-governance system, recommits to improved welfare* The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has said that the state’s e-governance tool has improved work processes in the state, automating government’s systems and ensuring quality service delivery to Edo people. The governor, in a statement to mark the 2022 Workers' Day, said that the government will continue to prioritise worker’s welfare, which has continued to improve since the onset of his administration. According to him, “As we mark Workers' Day, I would like to appreciate workers in the state for their commitment to duty and diligence, which is responsible for the achievements recorded by my administration thus far. Edo people are, today, better off with the improved services provided by workers. “In the last six years, we have ensured that workers in Edo State are provided with the right environment, tools, and encouraged to deliver optimal services to the people. From reconstructing office buildings, such as the Blocks C & D of the Secretariat Complex to the introduction of e-governance systems and robust welfare packages, workers have experienced a dramatic change in the conditions in which they work in the state. “The e-governance system makes sure that our workforce is globally competitive and provides top-of-the-range services to the people. The transformation we are witnessing will ensure that the people are better served in the long run. “It is also impressive that they have paid back in kind by delivering on their roles and responsibilities, which has created the atmosphere for the success of the reforms we have implemented.” The governor noted that the state will continue to place the interest of workers at the front burner of its institutional reforms, noting that continuous professional development at the John Odigie Oyegun Training Academy will equip them with skills to deepen the reforms in the state. “We are very intentional about the need to ensure that the reforms we have introduced are sustained and outlive our administration. This is why we introduced the professional development plank in our reform agenda and are sure that these institutional frameworks will ensure that the changes we have introduced stand the test of time in the interest of workers and development of the state.”

*Obaseki warns against unhealthy inter-agency rivalry, urges collaboration to improve security* The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has warned against unhealthy rivalry among security agencies in the state, urging for increased collaboration between the government, security outfits and local communities to tackle crime and insecurity in the state. Obaseki gave the charge when he received the new Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Samuel Dan, who was on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Benin City. The governor said, “We know that your men on ground are limited and one of the things that lead to success is collaboration and being able to work with locals. They are the people who understand the terrain; you have to rely on them for quality intelligence. "You just came into the state; no matter how fast you have learned, you can't claim to know the terrain better than those who are born here. For you to be able to work with them, that mutual respect must be there. "That trust that you have come to support them must be quickly built, and any sense of rivalry will not come. We enjoy good working relationships with other security agencies, including the police, and Department of State Services (DSS) and the NSCDC and we will like that to continue.” He further noted, “When you are posted to work in Edo, your first responsibility is to Edo people and you then report back and say that this is what is happening in Edo. You have an agro ranger and they have to understand what we are doing to secure our forest.” "We shall continue to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective protection of lives and property in the state. We shall make efforts to protect individuals, organizations, businesses, groups and communities against any form of threat,” Obaseki assured. Earlier, the new Edo NSCDC Commandant assured the governor that he would cooperate and relate with other security agencies as well as stakeholders to improve security in the state. He said, “Without this collaboration, we may not succeed, and we know that this cooperation begins with meaningful partnership with the government and other stakeholders.” Follow Governor Obaseki on Social Media Website: www.godwinobaseki.com Facebook: fb.com/godwinobasekiofficial Twitter: @governorobaseki Instagram: @governorobaseki YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/c/GovernorGodwinObaseki *PHOTO CAPTION* *DSC_01* L-R: Head of Administration, Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bamidele Orejimi; Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki; Commandant, Edo State Command of the NSCDC, Samuel Dan, and the Command’s Head of Department, Critical National Assets, Saidi Akintayo, during a courtesy visit, at the Government House, in Benin City.

*2023: Obaseki receives Peter Obi, says PDP must embrace equity, fairness* *_…we must make sacrifices to build a better Nigeria, says Obi_* The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Wednesday, received presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, urging the PDP to embrace justice, fairness, and equity in the selection of the candidate to fly the party’s flag in the 2023 presidential election. Obi was also at the Edo PDP Secretariat where he met with leaders and members of the party in Edo State. Receiving the presidential aspirant at the Government House in Benin City, Obaseki said Edo, as the heartbeat of the country, will not be part of any arrangement that is not inclusive and equitable as the state is interested in achieving a united and progressive Nigeria. He noted, "We are very grateful and pleased that his Excellency, Peter Obi has found it fit to come and talk and consult us on his aspiration to be the president of Nigeria. As you know, Edo is the heartbeat of Nigeria. It’s strategically positioned, both physically and politically. "For us in Edo, it's about Nigeria first. Whatever we are doing politically must be one that will strengthen and preserve our country. Our view is that this country cannot be preserved and sustained if there is no fairness and equity. "We need that unity; we need to realize that, as a country, we all must feel that we are part of this country and have access and opportunities like every one of us in this country. As we approach the 2023 elections, we must realize that for us to preserve our country, all parts of this country must feel included in the politics,” Obaseki added The governor continued: “The situation where any part, unit, or zone is left out, not considered fit, or seen as not having what it takes to provide leadership is only setting the basis for a crisis. “Whatever you call it, we must have adequate consultation across the various groups and divides, so that we can build an alignment to produce a leadership that can take Nigeria out of the crisis that we are facing today.” "Anything that is not inclusive, Edo is not part of it because Edo wants us to build a strong and united country so that we can face the challenges that are ahead of us,” he noted. On his part, Obi said Nigerians must make sacrifices to overcome the country’s current challenges so as to build a better and progressive Nigeria for citizens and future generations. According to him, "As you know, I am one of those in my party who are aspiring to serve this country. My aspiration is borne out of the fact that our country is going through a lot of challenges. We will need to all make sacrifices in building a better nation for our children. "We need somebody who is conversant with the realities because of the enormity of the problems besieging this country today. If the issues are not aggressively tackled from 2023, this country would not be there for all of us.” He further stressed that the foundation of development in a multi-ethnic and diverse society like Nigeria is unity, fairness, love, respect, and inclusiveness.
