For many years and before the convergence of the national conference by the former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, there had been a continuous call by the people of the southwest of Nigeria for true federalism and a sovereign national conference, a means for the actualization of the oduduwa nation. Even before the general election the afenifere group stated that a sovereign national conference was more important than the general elections, www.premiumtimesng.com/news/151827-national-conference-important-2015-elections-afenifere-tells-jonathan.html. Listed below are other articles to state how anxious the yorubas were for the national conference and the realization of the oduduwa nation. This was written in 1999. allafrica.com/stories/199910130260.html. www.nairaland.com/854941/sovereign-national-conference. www.premiumtimesng.com/opinion/146632-issues-sovereign-national-conference-femi-aribisala.html. www.nairaland.com/1466702/tinubu-planned-national-conference-deceptive/6. Even Tinibu called for the national conference www.nairaland.com/810886/tinubu-calls-sovereign-national-conference/1. Note: I decided to use nairaland articles, so some of us could see our comments as of then. But the whole story seems to have changed since after the general elections last year, with the Yorubas now the tribe mostly keen on the Unity of the Nigeria. The emergence of the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) group and its call for the actualization of the Biafra nation seems to have woken the ”unity consciousness” of the Yorubas. With them now posing the unity defenders of the Nigerian Nation. I have read many views on the IPOB and their struggle and have read a lot of comments online and from my observation, even the northerners rarely concern themselves with the IPOB problem as the yorubas do. My question then is: 1. what has changed within this period that make Nigeria so indivisible? 2. What make it laudable for the Yorubas to call for self realization but makes it wrong the easterners to do same? I call on all those who have been shouting to high heavens about this IPOB to come and give their view. Pls MOD, this is a glaring issue to all of us, my reason of writing this is not to cause a tribal war but to hear other views. Note am neither yoruba nor IPOB, just a concerned Nigerian. |
hungryboy:what u guys haven't realised is that, this isn't 2009, there was enough cashflow and jobs back then as against now.back then, the mentality in the community I usually visited in delta state was that of everyone wanting to move out and go to the university, but now more than 50% of the boys in delta state are cultists and smoker, their goal is to make enough cash to flex. So the likes of Tompollo wouldn't have any difficulty having new recruits. Moreover the last amnesty proved to be a mine of Gold for those who part took. Making those who repented before then envious. Now with IPOB having units in all corners of niger delta, I think any war on the region will have more participants than that of the last time. So I think It should be in the interest of the federal government to tread with caution to avoid CHOAS. |
The APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside today said his administration will end the scourge of insecurity in Rivers State. He said this during the Thanksgiving service of the APC ASALGA in Buguma. Speaking further at the event, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside assured the people that his administration Will reclaim the State from criminals and hoodlums and make the state a peaceful and prosperous one. You would recall that the court of appeal upheld the nullification of the April 11th 2015 governorship election in Rivers State. Meanwhile hearing on the appeal instituted by the Governor of Rivers State, Chf Barr. Nyesom Wike has been Shifted to next week by the supreme court. https://kalabarireports./2016/01/16/we-will-stop-insecurity-in-100-days-dakuku/ |
Lol, Thank God for this patrotic nigerian, with time we may find the other pieces. |
bamite:lols, u really need to see a psychologist. |
bamite:its very simple. You are suffering from poverty. its only the poor that rejoices on seeing people fail, because they want them to be like them. |
Zombies everywhere, so Efcc now has the right to arrest and detain citizens instead of charging them to court. Why not charge Metuh to court and let the court decide if he should return any money or not. There seems to be no regard for human right in this administration. |
Adasun:No, No, No, we are talking about attractive and unattractive people, Not ugly people. |
Lol, gotta show this to my guys. This guy seized cars of other public servants because he was secetary to state government. Op pls do an article about his obsession for cars. |
scachy:very simple, instead of giving us newspaper version of it, while the man is in custody. |
Apc chieftain my foot, the Apc are too desperately to make it look like their party members are also being convicted. Who the hell is Ibrahim Akut Baba? We re talking of the billions APc spent on the election and not 1 million naira defrauded since 2011. |
cruzita:football age |
Well his contineous detention is really working wonders for him. The number of people I see with biafran shirts or flags these days is alarming, majority are not igbos. In my area here in PH, ipob is now a community thing. |
Those two apc fools will above will not shut their mouth. I just pray this country is divided next year. Xo I can stop coming in contact with fools. |
etim20:. And u know all these because u are the assistant minister of petroleum. Later u fools will be asking for "quote where Bubu said it. |
Don't do numbers, but interested. Joevicsworld@gmail.com |
Funny post, I was there and there was nothing political about the carol, the turnout wasn't bad either considering the level of publicity. Very few people heared of it, but there were lots of christains there. Xo I don't know how the view of two annonymous people can make it a flake. Another reason is cos the star promo is still on and believe me guys would rather be groving than been at a carol. Last bullet: I got a gift and there was no pdp logo or anything on any of it. |
KinkyAngela:. who stormed Owerri for the third anniversary of the exit of Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu. |
U are just plain silly. All u wrote is just trash. Delete the trend and cover ur head in shame. As if its only I pass my neighbour dats bin imported or its the most imported. U sound as clueless as this Apc Government. |
Its so stupid of some Nigerians, especially those on facebook to change their profile pics to reflect the french flag, for the death of 120 people, however, these same people will not even say a silent prayer when 2000 Nigerian are killed by bokoharam. Even the president issued a statement in regards to the french issue, but has acted coy in the light of the attacks down north. |
I thought the Apc and some other political groups within it, hailed Buhari for the TSA he INTRODUCED, even the e-warriors we have here said introducing Tsa is one of Buhari's achievements in 6 months. So surprised to be seeing GEJ's name on this tread. guess its now Gej's TSA since, some atoms of fraud has been discovered as the Apc and their crew had never signed cheques or collected bribes in their life. |
Oshomole is shameless, apart from big posters everywhere, what has he achieved?
He has started running his mouth again |
They have started writing rubbish again. I read the post 3 times and still couldn't understand what the project is. Is it a loan service or what?. They just propose without having a structure or doing feasibility studies, just like the 5k. |

Committed indeed, in other-words, the fed government WILL. I call this the i will administration. Betwn, if we had 25billion dollars, why did bubu still go to drag india's 10billion dollars. |
And how did the Army come to the conclusion that BokoHaram are fund-starved? Maybe someone stopped funding them. Bokoharam were well funded before their allegiance to ISS. There is something Amiss here, this new paparazzi version of the NA under the snake farmer aren't tactical, reason why they haven't been able to dismantle this ragtag group. |
BALLOSKI:same thing the senate code of conduct committee recommended for amaechi. |
searching4lovee:one Nepa bill holder spotted. |
