TV/Movies / 'Cars 3' Movie Review by joeysuki(m): 1:36pm On Jun 13, 2017
SOURCE: http://truegossip.ng/movie-review-cars-3-race/

SYNOPSIS:
Lightning McQueen sets out to prove to a new generation of racers that he’s still the best race car in the world.
CASTS: Nathan Fillion, Armie Hammer, Owen Wilson
RELEASE DATE: 16TH JUNE, 2017

“It’s the comeback story of the year.” So says one announcer as the stakes go up in “Cars 3,” and while that may be hyperbole when applied to the movie itself, there’s no question that this latest edition in Pixar’s weakest franchise rescues it from mediocrity. Ironically, the first two “Cars” installments were shepherded along by Pixar guru John Lasseter, but traded the sophistication associated with the brand for hokey archetypes and surface-deep gags. Perhaps the setback came from the starting point: It was never a surefire bet that the travails of googly-eyed talking vehicles (in a world eerily devoid of other species) could muster much depth, but “Cars 3” finally gets there.

This time, Lasseter takes a backseat to new director Brian Fee (a storyboard artist on the first two films), who develops a richer scenario out of rusty parts — finding, along with screenwriters Kiel Murray, Bob Peterson and Mike Rich, that the material can finally reach for deeper possibilities in part because of that rust. Speed racer Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) rose to fame in the first movie and got sidelined by an ill-conceived espionage plot in the sequel, but now he’s reached a crossroads in his career. (The “Cars” movies set the stage for a lot of vehicular puns, but that’s the essence of a series steeped in heavy-handed metaphor.) No longer the state-of-the-art competitor of his early days, he’s marred by outsized expectations and dwarfed by sleeker, technologically-enhanced racers led by the smarmy Jackson Storm (Armie Hammer), a shadowy low-rider who whispers menacing threats to Lightning while speeding by. The anxiety gets to the older car’s head, and leads him to a devastating crash in the opening minutes that calls his future prospects into question.

In sports movie terms, this is familiar turf, but that’s exactly what puts this unreliable series on steadier ground from the outset. If there’s one consistent variable in the so-called “Pixar Touch” that has sustained it over the years, it’s the ability to smuggle powerful cinematic tropes into the vernacular of a kid’s movie. From the pain of nostalgia at the root of “Toy Story” to the slapstick ingenuity of Tati that carries “Wall-E,” the studio’s finest entries show a profound reverence for sophisticated narrative traditions; the earlier “Cars” movies always slipped below that. But the latest entry cuts from a reliable cloth, mines for emotional depth and finds it — while unearthing a progressive vision in the process. From a storytelling standpoint, “Cars 3” has only a few fresh ideas, but it’s a largely satisfying entry in a series that has generally operated at, well, half-speed.

Before we get to all that, however, it’s worth noting the movie’s sheer visual intensity on display. Above all else, “Cars 3” is a satisfying racing movie, one that opens with jarring images of vehicles veering across a narrow track, interspersed with abrupt cuts to black. There’s an energizing quality to these sequences made all the more involving by the determined looks on the vehicles themselves. Earlier “Cars” lore hasn’t explored what happens when chaos breaks out on the track; “Cars 3” answers that question by showing that it’s just bad news all around. Lightning’s crash sequence is both terrifying and tragic even though he emerges mostly fine — it’s just harrowing enough to explain his ensuing psychological duress. Patched back up in the sleepy town of Radiator Springs, he looks mournfully toward the legacy of his late mentor, Doc Hudson (Paul Newman, nicely resurrected with old audio files for a handful of flashbacks) while his friends lobby around him.

But it takes an unexpected new sponsor, the mysterious investor Sterling (Nathan Fillion) to push Lightning back into action. Rattling off plans for a whole franchise based on the racer’s earlier appeal, he introduces Lightning to a fancy training facility and places him under the guidance of an energetic young trainer, plucky newcomer Cruz Ramirez (Cristela Alonzo), who harbors racing dreams of her own. It’s here that “Cars 3” finds a potent hook. The earlier movies had an inherently masculine quality by virtue of their focus — men and their cars, you know — but Cruz’s determination to pierce the boys’ club with her own ambition wrestles the narrative away from Lightning’s pity party with no less cultural depth than Furiosa taking charge of “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

While the usual assemblage of supporting types surface here and there, including Lightning’s ever-reliable bucktoothed sidekick Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) and Lightning’s supportive girlfriend Sally Carrera (Bonnie Hunt), the bulk of “Cars 3” revolves around the developing relationship between Lightning and Cruz, and the way it begins to mirror Lightning’s own experience with an older mentor in Doc.

That dynamic opens itself up to the gentler, melancholic quality that percolated throughout the first “Cars” movie with less success. This time, it makes sense that, despite appearances to the contrary, the movie doesn’t really function as a comedy. Instead, it’s a keen window into the anxieties and frustrations of living in the confines of a legacy that has already peaked. Wilson, whose gentle vocal patterns make it sound like he’s always on the verge of launch into an indie rock ballad, endows his character with a soulful quality that elevates the material above its occasional sillier indulgences.

Notwithstanding the occasional cheeky one-liners engineered to wink at an older audience (“Life’s a beach, then you drive”), this is a sturdy, mature sports movie about the aging process that — if the anthropomorphized vehicles were swapped for humans — wouldn’t look out of place in Rocky’s oeuvre. (And by finding a new hero to supplement the older one’s frayed edges, it’s basically Pixar’s “Creed.”) It’s also a keen window into blue collar American life: Lightning’s trip to Doc’s small town finds him enmeshed in a corner with old fighting legends while a country singer dominates the stage, and the resulting banter hardly falls into stereotypical terrain. Instead, it finds a kind of spiritual quality to the land of aging vehicles, wooden barns and empty roads that results in the most definitely American movie in Pixar’s extensive filmography.

“Cars 3” still lurches through an aimless middle section and, yes, runs out of gas before the credits roll, but it never completely derails the sense of a sharper, intelligent version of this otherwise familiar routine. Notably, the movie finds Lightning at odds with the demands of an affluent sponsor keen on cashing in on his appeal. Considering that it’s a second sequel in a less-than-revered franchise, it’s a minor miracle that “Cars 3” hits the finish line with a fresh sense of purpose.

Cars 3 hits Nigerian Cinemas on 16th June.

Business / Important Steps To Start Up Your Own Bean Flour Business by joeysuki(m): 1:21pm On Jun 10, 2017
source: http://truegossip.ng/important-steps-start-bean-flour-business/

First, you decide how you want to start – small, medium or large scale. For small and medium scale, you can start anywhere, anytime with a little amount of money. You will sweat a bit, though, because of the manual nature of the work involved. This is usually not a big deal for the hardworking entrepreneur. To start big scale, some machinery is required. You can get a sense of the type of machines, and what they cost, from grain-processing.org.
Basically, there are 3 stages in bean flour production:

Pre-Processing: This involves getting raw materials (bean seeds) to start with. Brown and white Beans which are the main raw materials for beans flour are mostly available and grown in the northern parts of Nigeria. You need to make sure that the varieties you use are strong and free from weevils infestation.

Processing: The difference between making bean flour and preparing bean seeds for immediate use is drying. Processing involves sorting (removing the stones and chaff), dehulling (removing the outer layer), drying, milling and sifting.

Packaging: How you package is entirely up to you. The more creative your branding and packaging, the better. Google ‘bean flour’ and see some of the ways other brands are packaged, then improve on that to create your unique brand.

Most farm produce can be eaten in different ways thus making it very exciting and pleasurable. Processing of foodstuffs makes it possible to have it in different forms thus avoiding boredom experienced from eating a particular kind of food. Processing involves lots of investment in processing equipments but can be started on a small scale. The focus of this publication is on mini processing of beans to produce beans flour that can be used as moimoi or beans cake and also packaging for commercial consumption. If you’re reading this article you may have interest in establishing a mini beans processing plant.
Below are some of the steps:
Step 1

Source for suppliers: When considering food processing business, the major task is sourcing for reliable suppliers that offers reasonable and competitive price. Suppliers for beans varieties (white and brown) can be sourced from the northern part of the country Nigeria mainly Sokoto and Kebbi state.
Step 2

Sort and Clean: Now you have a small factory either rented or owned, all necessary requirements by the government and other legal authorities have been satisfied and suppliers have supplied the specified quantity; the next line of action is to sort and clean the beans to remove stones and other seeds.
beans sorting

The above machine is currently costed 10,000 USD approximately 2million Naira as at the time this publication but this can be fabricated locally.

At this stage, one can think of packaging the sorted beans for commercialization… i.e. sell to restaurant, hotels, multinational companies, homes etc, but if you want to further process it into more useful form, you can proceed with the below steps.
Step 3

Peel beans: Peel the beans by moderately sprinkling them with water to ease the dehulling process. This can be done using beans peeler either imported or locally fabricated.

As at the time of this publication, the cost is 5000 USD approximately 1million Naira (landing cost is not inclusive).
Step 4

Dry/Grind: Here, the dehulled beans is moved into the milling machine which produces a low heat environment that would dry the beans(so as to retain and maintain the nutrients) before milling into flour.

The price for this milling machine is 20,000USD approximately 4million Naira as at the time of this publication. There are alternative sources of machines that will fall within your budget if you want to start this business… one good thing about this machines are their multifunctional capabilities. You can mill every other thing in future as you start such as rice, plantain, soya beans etc.
Step 5

Packaging: This is final stage. Packaging plays an important role in marketing of the products, therefore, should be given a serious attention. I always advocate that entrepreneurs employ the services of a professional when it comes to packaging. Your packaging as an entrepreneur will determine the way your products will be addressed, your customers may not see or know where your factory is and how big or small it is but your packaging can tell more about your business.

The cost of this machine ranges from 12,000USD to 80,000USD approximately 2.4million to 16million Naira. There are also alternative to this for young entrepreneurs that might want to venture into this business, you can get a local fabricated shrink machine within your budget and expand into automatic machines in the future.
Step 6

Marketing: Marketing food stuff is the easiest thing anyone would think of because everyone eats on daily basis. All you need to do is to look for salespeople either internally recruited or outsourced who will search for the wholesalers in major markets and introduce the new products to them with bonuses. You can also consider television ad or bill board to create product awareness or as a young entrepreneur with little budget for marketing, you can leverage on social media and context marketing.

However, there are other things you may want to consider before commercialization such as NAFDAC registration and approval ; full scaleyou can read it up here. This is a very important and fundamental prerequisite even before youfull-scaleproduction.

Health / 7 Things Pharmacists Want You To Know But Will Never Tell You by joeysuki(m): 12:06pm On Jun 10, 2017
SOURCE : http://truegossip.ng/7-things-pharmacists-want-know-will-never-tell/

“We don’t have a secret portal to look up your new insurance information
From the other side of the counter, being a pharmacist seems easy enough, right? A doctor calls saying someone needs medicine, so you find the bottle of pills, put it in a bag with the patient’s name on it, and wait for said patient to pick it up.

Of course, that’s not actually the complete—or accurate—job description. There’s much more to being a pharmacist than just pushing pills around, and a lot of it involves dealing with sick, frustrated, or confused people who need medicine to get better. Plus, pharmacists often get caught in the middle between patients, doctor’s offices, and insurance companies. Sounds fun, right?

So in between the prescription filling and phone calls to the insurance companies, is your pharmacist playing Candy Crush or swiping right on Tinder to pass the time? And are they secretly judging you or thinking about your personal life when you go in to pick up a not-so-subtle prescription? (The short answers: no and no.) Here’s what these anonymous pharmacists want their patients to know.

“When the first of the year rolls around and you get a new insurance card, bring that card to the pharmacy. We don’t have a secret portal to look up your new information. You’ll be in and out much quicker if you bring that new card with you.” —Penelope, New York, NY

“Ninety-nine percent of the time, when your doctor said he or she would send your prescription to the pharmacy and told you to go pick it up, they haven’t actually sent the prescription yet. That’s why it’s not ready when you come to pick it up. Call first. Actually, follow up with your doctor first, make sure the script was actually sent, and then call us to see if it’s ready.” —Paige, Bronxville, NY

“If your medication needs a prior authorization and it’s taking awhile, it’s most likely because your insurance company is waiting for more information from your doctor to make sure this treatment is safe and effective, and that it’ll help you instead of harm you. Follow up with your doctor’s office and make sure they’ve provided all of the appropriate information to your insurance company.” —Emily, Santa Monica, CA

“No, we’re not judging you. Seriously. We may take note of what medication you’re getting, and if we see you frequently, we make take interest in you and ask how you’re feeling or if there’s anything we can do to help. But we’re definitely not judging you, whether you’re picking up your herpes meds or Viagra for your husband.” —Jarron, Chicago, IL

“Sometimes, I wish I were playing Candy Crush or Bumbling on my phone during work hours. But just like any other job, this one keeps me busy, and my colleagues and I rarely have time to run out for a salad for lunch let alone hide in the aisles perusing dating apps or trying to level up.” —Jacqueline, Missoula, MT
“If the pharmacy opens at 8 a.m., don’t call at exactly 8 a.m. Do you want to take a phone call the minute you walk into your office?” —Allyson, Portland, OR
“You just came from your doctor’s office and need to fill a prescription.

We know you’ve definitely waited for an hour or more to see your doctor for 15 measly minutes. We feel for you, really we do. But please don’t get mad and yell at us if we’re also busy and tell you your prescription will take an hour. You didn’t yell at your doctor when you had to wait there (right?). We want to get your prescription filled as quickly as we can for you. But ask yourself, do you really want your pharmacist to rush filling your prescription? Or do you want us to do our job and make sure we’re keeping you safe and double-checking everything?” —Sarah, Boston, MA

Health / How To Get Motivated When You Work-out Alone by joeysuki(m): 10:36am On Jun 07, 2017
SOURCE http://truegossip.ng/get-motivated-work-alone/

The problem with recreational exercise is this: At some point during a tough workout, there’s nothing stopping your inner voice from suddenly piping up to say, “You know, you can just stop.” Oh. Right.

That’s the thing: You can just stop. There isn’t a lion chasing you, forcing you to keep going. It’s just a moving treadmill belt, and the emergency button is within easy reach. Which is exactly why we’re huge advocates of a personal trainer or workout buddy. (In fact, we think having a gym partner is the best thing ever.) Anyone can tell you that it’s so much easier to push yourself when you have a personal trainer’s eyes on you, or if you’re competing against a friend (or even just the stranger on the treadmill next to you).

But what about those times when you either choose to work out alone or your friend bails last minute before your scheduled gym date? It times like this that you need strategies that will encourage you to push yourself to your limit—short of hiring a Navy SEAL to scream at you while you squat. So try these methods out the next time you’re talking yourself into a workout.
Think Smaller

Having a big goal is a smart idea, of course, but when you’re trying to encourage yourself to push through those last few sets, it may be more helpful to chase super small, specific accomplishments instead. Think: “I’ll sprint to that tree,” versus “I want to beat my personal best 5K time” or even “I have to finish five intervals today.” That way, you don’t risk feeling (mentally) exhausted before you even start.
Stare Straight Ahead

Literally. A study published in the journal Motivation and Emotion reported that participants who narrowly focused their sights on a specific target were able to run faster while feeling less tired. So after telling yourself you’ll “sprint to that tree,” put your blinders on and stare at only that tree, and you’ll be rewarded with a burst of energy and power.
Record Yourself

You may feel a little silly, but training your phone’s video camera on yourself while you work out will give you that sense of accountability you’re missing out on by not having a trainer or buddy at your side. Plus, playing back the video later can help you spot mistakes in your form that you might normally ignore.
Find a Mantra

Forget what you used to think about cliché mantras—the fact is that they work. And they probably work even better when you really identify with what you’re saying or thinking. While words like “I only quit before I start” might be super-motivating to you, your friend might think it sounds ridiculous. So think back to what works for you personally or scroll through Instagram to find something that resonates. (Steal one of These Morning Mantras That Wil Inspire You to Get Up and Slay Your Workout.) Then bring it to mind when you’re struggling for an extra burst of motivation.
Use the Magic Word

“Later.” As in, “I’ll slow down—in a minute.” Or, “I’ll take a water break—a little later.” Research in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology found that people who told themselves they’d give into something sometime in the future (without specifying an actual day or time) found it easier to resist the temptation in the moment. And more often than not, “later” never comes.
Cut Back

If you’re really having a hard time sustaining the effort, try pushing yourself for a much shorter period of time. We’re talking about intervals: Go all-out for one minute, then dial it way, way back for three. Repeat, or try pyramid intervals, which are when you dial up the length of time you spend pushing yourself—one minute, then two minutes, then three—before descending again—three, then two, then one.
Stick to a Program

There are two motivating things about training programs: First, they tell you exactly what to do, eliminating the mid-workout stall you can sometimes fall into, and second, they provide measurable results. Training programs are designed to help you lift heavier or move faster. If you stick to it, you’ll generally be setting PRs every week or so. Luckily, there are lots of qualified expert-backed training plans to get you going.

Celebrities / Phyno Vs Pia Mia! Who Truly Owns The Track ”I Am A Fan” ? by joeysuki(m): 11:48am On Jun 01, 2017
source http://truegossip.ng/phyno-vs-pia-mia-truly-owns-track-fan/

Controversial song “I am a fan” caught a life of its own after it became the subject of heavy controversy.

It began on Friday, May 26, 2017, an American super star, Pia Mia released a new single titled “I’m a fan” featuring singer, Jeremiah and produced by American beat maker “Remo.”

However, the issue is, the track didn’t only just share the same title with Phyno’s 2016 track, on basic inspection, it was obviously the same song.

The playmaker album profiles Phyno’s version as featuring fast rising singer Mr Eazi, and another relative newcomer Decarlo, produced by Lagos-based producer Benjamz.

On Monday, May 29, 2017, Pia Mia became the object of ridicule on Nigerian social media space as different Phyno fans jumped on the back of the 20-year-old singer for allegedly jacking the song of a Nigerian superstar.

The story, however, took a new dimension as fresh details began to emerge concerning ownership of the track “I’m a fan.”

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Phyno got in contact with Americans Jeremiah and producer Remo while creating his sophomore album and that was when the track “I am a fan” was first created.

Somewhere along the line, an agreement wasn’t reached and both parties went their separate ways only later, Phyno got Mr Eazi, Decarlo and Benjamz to complete the track for him, while Remo offered the track to singer Pia Mia.

Phyno has refused to comment on the ongoing controversy as it is yet unclear who owns the right to the song.

However, as it stands, Phyno’s version of the track has gotten a new lease on life with the controversy, many months after it was first released.

“Wonder Woman,” played by former Israeli army soldier Gal Gadot and out in movie theatres worldwide this week, is the first female superhero film since 2005’s box office dud “Elektra,” and the first to be directed by a woman.

“I feel it was a lot of expectation resting on the shoulders of this film and resting literally on the shoulders of Wonder Woman,” said director Patty Jenkins, whose budget was more than $150 million.

“We tried to make a movie for everybody a la the grand classic films from ‘Superman 1’ to ‘Indiana Jones,’ so I hope we actually get a little of everyone,” she added, referring to hopes that both men and women would watch the movie.

Since her inception in 1941 in DC comic books with her patriotic red bustier embossed with a golden eagle and blue shorts with white stars, Wonder Woman has become a symbol of female empowerment in a comic book world dominated by male superheroes like Batman, Superman and Iron Man, and male fans.

But times have changed. Last year Wonder Woman lost her position as an honorary ambassador for the United Nations after a grass-roots petition slammed the character as “a large breasted, white woman of impossible proportions, scantily clad … the epitome of a ‘pin-up’ girl.”

In the film, Wonder Woman’s fitted red and gold bodice doubles as a suit of armour in fight scenes that see her dart and dodge bullets, knives and thunderbolts.

“I love the costume. I think it’s beautiful, I think it’s practical, easy to move in and to fight. And I also think it’s sexy,” Gadot said.

The movie returns to the origins of Diana Prince, growing up in an all female paradise island of Amazonian warriors who teach her knowledge, language and fighting skills.

When American pilot Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) crashes there, Diana learns about World War One and leaves the island to follow Steve to the frontlines of war to vanquish the war god.

Gadot, 32, says the Wonder Woman created by Jenkins is far from perfect, and that’s what makes her interesting.

“She’s not only super strong and confident and unapologetic but she can be very vulnerable and confused and insecure,” Gadot said.

Even before the film’s release, “Wonder Woman” stirred controversy when the small U.S. cinema chain Alamo Drafthouse announced it would hold some women-only screenings of the film, and men complained about social media of reverse sexism.

Reviews for “Wonder Woman” however have been glowing, scoring a rare 97 percent positive rating on aggregator Rotten Tomatoes with critics praising its humour and positive spirit.

Jenkins said that behind the fun “I hope that we can use a character who stands for something so needed right now… and to inspire people to be heroes in their own lives.

“She is fierce and strong and incredible but she’s also idealistic for the good of mankind and she really believes in love and truth… I think the hero that we need for the future is that all of us are going to have to fight for what we believe in.”

Health / SHOCKING! Current Number Of People Killed By Tobacco Every Year Revealed. by joeysuki(m): 11:29am On May 31, 2017
http://truegossip.ng/shocking-current-number-people-killed-tobacco-every-year-revealed/

Smoking and other tobacco use kill more than seven million people each year, the World Health Organization said Tuesday, also warning of the dire environmental impact of tobacco production, distribution, and waste.

According to Punch Metro, the UN agency said tougher measures were needed to rein in tobacco use, urging countries to ban smoking in the workplace and indoor public spaces, outlaw marketing of tobacco products and hike cigarette prices.

“Tobacco threatens us all,” WHO chief Margaret Chan said in a statement.

“Tobacco exacerbates poverty, reduces economic productivity, contributes to poor household food choices, and pollutes indoor air,” she said.

In a report released ahead of World No Tobacco Day on Wednesday, WHO warned that the annual death toll of seven million people had jumped from four million at the turn of the century, making tobacco the world’s single biggest cause of preventable death.

And the death toll is expected to keep rising, with WHO bracing for more than one billion deaths this century.

“By 2030, more than 80 percent of the deaths will occur in developing countries, which have been increasingly targeted by tobacco companies seeking new markets to circumvent tightening regulation in developed nations.”

Tobacco use also brings an economic cost: WHO estimates that it drains more than $1.4 trillion (1.3 trillion euros) from households and governments each year in healthcare expenditures and lost productivity or nearly two percent of the global gross domestic product.

In addition to the health and economic costs linked to smoking, the WHO report for the first time delved into the environmental impact of everything from tobacco production to the cigarette butts and other waste produced by smokers.

“From start to finish, the tobacco life cycle is an overwhelmingly polluting and damaging process,” WHO Assistant Director-General Oleg Chestnov said in the report.

The report detailed how growing tobacco often requires large quantities of fertilizers and pesticides, and it warned that tobacco farming had become the main cause of deforestation in several countries.

This is largely due to the amount of wood needed for curing tobacco, with WHO estimating that one tree is needed for every 300 cigarettes produced.

WHO also highlighted the pollution generated during the production, transport, and distribution of tobacco products.

The report estimates that the industry emits nearly four million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent annually — the same as around three million transatlantic flights.

And waste from the process contains over 7,000 toxic chemicals that poison the environment, including human carcinogens, WHO said.

Once in the hands of the consumer, tobacco smoke emissions spewed thousands of tons of human carcinogens, toxic substances, and greenhouse gases into the environment.

Cigarette butts and other tobacco waste make up the largest number of individual pieces of litter in the world, the agency said.

Two-thirds of the 15 billion cigarettes sold each day are thrown on to the street or elsewhere in the environment, it said, adding that butts account for up to 40 percent of all items collected in coastal and urban clean-ups.

WHO urged governments to take strong measures to rein in tobacco use.

“One of the least used, but most effective tobacco control measures… is through increasing tobacco tax and prices,” Chestnov said.

Health / 5 Important Benefits Of Running Under The Rain by joeysuki(m): 2:13pm On May 25, 2017
source: http://truegossip.ng/5-important-benefits-running-rain/

If you are an avid runner, or even just beginning, you should know the 5 benefits of running in the rain. While most prefer ideal running conditions (cool breezes, sunny skies, proper temperatures), there are real benefits of running in the rain. Grappling with tough conditions helps runners in many ways.

1. You won’t get heat exhaustion.

When it is raining, the sun is not shining. Additionally, rain cools the air temperature, allowing your body to dissipate heat more quickly. Running in the rain is an excellent way to prevent heat exhaustion – the cooler air temperatures and wet skin whisk heat away and keep you cool.

2. You can put in a more intense workout

Without the worry of heat exhaustion, and without the sun beating down on you, it is possible to put in a more intense workout. Your body will remain cooler, allowing you to push the limits further without endangering yourself. Some of your most effective workouts can be done while running in the rain.

3. You exercise more muscles

Rain usually creates a running surface that is harder to navigate. Slippery roads, muddy conditions, and wet turns require more care to run over. Your body compensates as you more carefully watch where you place your feet and attempt to keep better control of your balance.

Doing this requires the use of smaller coordinating muscles, conditioning your legs as if you were trail running. Stronger legs translate into more endurance and faster race times.
You develop physical and mental toughness.

When conditions are not ideal, running can become a chore. Suffering through runs in the rain will toughen you up both mentally and physically. Running in the rain helps to prepare you for those rare times when you have to dig deep just to continue. As you remember suffering through all that time running in the rain, you will gain the fortitude to conquer your race.

4. Best of all, you won’t need to clean your running shoes.

Let the rain do it for you, and strike that off your to do list, Even though conditions are not ideal, there are benefits to running in the rain. The potential for more intense workouts, reduced likelihood of heat exhaustion, the development of additional leg muscles, and enhanced physical and mental toughness all make running in the rain an excellent training option.
