Hundreds of supporters of Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, on Friday trooped to the streets to protest alleged plan by members of the state House of Assembly to impeach the governor.

The protesters, under the aegis of Positive Minds Club for Teachers (PMCT), first converged on Fajuyi Park, Ado Ekiti with placards in the early hours of the day.

The governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has described as “mischief” the claim by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Adewale Omirin, that his (Mr. Omirin’s) filling station was sealed for political reasons. The governor had on Tuesday ordered the immediate closure of the petrol station, T5 Petrol Station, owned by the Speaker, alongside three other stations.

The Independent National Electoral Commission said on Thursday it would distribute Permanent Voter Cards in 5,101 polling units in Kaduna State.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the commission has also identified 255 wards for its Continuous Voter Registration in the state.

INEC’s spokesman, Mr Abdullahi Gujungu, told NAN in Kaduna State that the commission would ensure that all those who were duly registered received their PVCs during the two-day exercise from November 7 to 9
