Linda Carroll MSNBC March 6, 2010 A D V E R T I S E M E N T You’ve accepted the idea that TV makes you dumber. You know there are lots of more edifying things you could be doing with your time than cheering on the contestants on “Survivor.” And unless you’re working out to an exercise video, you know those hours sprawled out in front of the screen are going to make you fatter — not to mention the impact of all that junk food you’ve been tempted to scarf down during the commercial breaks. But you’ll be surprised to learn the host of other bad things TV can do to you http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35646508/ns/health-behavior/ |
Reuters March 6, 2010 Editor’s note: So, now that Ahmadinejad is a “truther,” I guess the corporate media will claim Alex Jones is an Iranian terrorist. Ahmadinejad described the destruction of the twin towers in New York on September 11, 2001 as a “complicated intelligence scenario and act.” Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday called the September 11 attacks on the United States a “big fabrication” that was used to justify the U.S. war on terrorism, the official IRNA news agency reported. Ahmadinejad, who often rails against the West and Israel, made the comment in a meeting with Intelligence Ministry personnel. It came amid escalating tension in the long-running dispute between Iran and the West over Tehran’s nuclear program, with the United States pushing for new U.N. sanctions against the major oil producer. Ahmadinejad described the destruction of the twin towers in New York on September 11, 2001 as a “complicated intelligence scenario and act,” IRNA reported. He added: “The September 11 incident was a big fabrication as a pretext for the campaign against terrorism and a prelude for staging an invasion against Afghanistan.” He did not http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2010/03/06/world/international-us-iran-ahmadinejad-sept11.html?_r=3&emc=eta1

Someone is feeding you and you still claim they have personal interest. This is the height of it.so you sincerely think the US has the interest of somalia at heart? |
@RSA You are a proud African!!!, I wish Nigerians can be this proud ![]() |
@beaf note I didnt label your post as a "conspiracy". I wonder why you should do the same to my post. You dont have to agree with my views but you can surely debate issues with me without resulting to character assassination. "Do unto to others what you want them to do to u". I knw you will understand |
JohnnyBlaze, you appear not to take on board some key issues and have your mind made up. This is not imperialism in anyway, if Russia opt to start a new nuclear production today, it will face some opposition. For the record, a few nations have been in breach of the NPNT hence why I suggest you read up on it.Lets play it your way. You said if Russia decides to expand on its already nuclear technology they would face opposition. But have you forgotten that china recently announced that they were building several nuclear stations across its nation, in retaliation obama in his "state of the union address" said the US was going to build 2 more nuclear plants. what do you have to say about that? |
The extent that people will go to discredit the US. You mean the US is to blame for spending their money to deliver food to Somalis? You mean the US is asking too much by refusing to pay bribes? It takes a level of detachment from common sense to ignore the people who refuse to allow aid to flow to their people and yet condemn those who make the effort to get the aid to them. What is this world coming to?@tayo This is a matter of discreditation, I am only drawing people's attention to the contributing factors to the crisis in somalia. One thing you have to understand about some western nations is that they give with one hand and collect through the other. They are simply after their own personal interest. |
thats your own opinion |
Its still its not fair. No country should should tell another sovereign country what to do, that is imperialism, especially when the country is guilty of the same crime. I know you would be quick to dismiss this as another conspiracy theory but I strongly believe the americans are after Iranian oil. They are just using "terrorism" as a front to justify their soo invasion in Iran. |
its up to you to accept or reject. There is freedom of information |
Maybe Iran has something to hide or maybe not. To me this story sounds familar, Iraq never had WMD but they refused to allow international observers to inspect their facility. US and UK broke protocol and invaded Iraq killing millions of Iraqis and rendering more homeless. Its just not fair. if they want Iran to quit their nuclear ambitions they should quit their own nuclear technology. Simple!! |
Accusations about links between the Venezuelan government and terrorists in Colombia and Spain add weight to calls to designate Venezuela as a state sponsor of terrorism, a Latin American specialist said Tuesday. Heritage Foundation scholar Ray Walser was commenting on claims by a Spanish prosecuting judge that President Hugo Chavez’s government had assisted two terror groups that plotted to assassinate Colombian President Alvaro Uribe. Chavez reviles Uribe, who angered him by signing a military base access agreement with the U.S. last year. Ironically, the leftist leader just last week accused Uribe, at a Latin American summit in Mexico, of planning his assassination. http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/62188 |
@beaf thats your view!! |
While nearly half the population of Somalia teeters at the edge of starvation, the U.S. is preventing the United Nations from delivering desperately needed food. According to documents obtained by the New York Times, the Americans demand that aid agencies guarantee that no fees are paid “at roadblocks, ports, warehouses, airfields or other transit points” controlled by Shabab resistance fighters. Since the Shabab and other militias control more than half of the area in conflict, United Nations compliance with U.S. conditions would mean starvation for about three million people.Indeed, if international aid were restricted to areas controlled by the U.S.-backed puppet regime, only a few neighborhoods in Mogadishu, the capital, would be fed. America’s Somali puppets are incapable of even defending themselves, much less maintaining a functioning government and infrastructure. Five thousand African Union (AU) soldiers – comprised mainly of Ugandans, the U.S.’s shock troops in Africa – keep control of the airport, the regime’s main link to the outside world. According to the United Nations, AU soldiers engage in “indiscriminate shelling” of civilians. As the Americans’ Somali puppets’ position becomes more untenable, the U.S. squeezes the UN’s food delivery system, in effect punishing the entire Somali people. U.S. food relief to the UN’s Somali operations in 2009 was only half that of 2008. In 2007, United Nations officials declared Somalia the “worst humanitarian crisis in Africa…worse than Darfur,” as a result of the U.S.-backed Ethiopian invasion in late 2006. Thus, the United States has been waging continuous war against the people of Somalia, directly or by proxy, for over three years under the guise of the “war on terror.” http://www.blackagendareport.com/?q=content/us-wages-food-war-against-somalia |
so it is ok for Iran to drop their nuclear ambitions why countries like china, russia and US can keep theirs. I dont think its fair. I quite agree that the Iranian government is tyranical, but at the same time no-country should determine who should and will not acquire nuclear technology. Thats a case of double standards |
one question: Whats wrong with Iran acquiring nuclear technology? |
ok |
Lets stick to the issue. do you think war between Iran and Israel is looming? |
@elrazur Yes, I believe earthquake can be man-made, why? because I have studied extensive materials which prove this. I have provided evidence along side others who share similar views to back up our claims but unfortunately it fell on deaf ears as some people including you felt it was insufficient, where there is nothing I can do at this point. I respect your views and hope you respect mine. |
unfortunately I dont have answers to your question, why dont you ask countries that posses H.A.A.R.P am sure they would be of some help!!! |
The three-party meeting that took place in Damascus on Friday gathering the Syrian president Bashar al Assad, the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Hizbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was a war council to devise counterattack plans and assign tasks in the event of an Israeli offensive on one or all parties, wrote Abdelbari Atwan, the editor-in-chief of the pan-Arab newspaper Al Quds al Arabi. “The timing of the meeting, the way it was undertaken and the ensuing press conference that was held at its conclusion, all point to a strategic coalition being reinforced. This is the build-up of a new front that will spearhead the confrontation with the US-Israeli alliance and whichever Arab countries that may, expressly or implicitly, be affiliated with it.” The Iranian president said he expects war to break out somewhere between spring and summer of this year. Meanwhile, the Hizbollah chief vowed to strike the Israeli capital, its airports and power stations if Israel dared to attack Beirut’s critical infrastructure. http://www.thenational.ae/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100301/OPINION/702289930/1006 |
for the fact that some people do not believe in other people's views doesnt make them stupid, nobody has monopoly of knowledge. It is simply a clash of ideologies and understanding. Some believe earthquakes are natural while some believe it could be man-made, thats life everybody cannot reason the same way. Another thing to note, I believe most people on this forum are respected indviduals and as such people should respect other people's views instead of resulting in insults. |
There are still alot of things we dont understand about nature and how it operates especially natural disasters!!! |
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. |
I hate to say this but it appears another global financial crisis is looming!!! First it was greece now its sweden |
Sweden unexpectedly slides back into recession Reuters March 1, 2010 A D V E R T I S E M E N T Sweden’s economy unexpectedly slid back into recession in the fourth quarter, figures showed, sending the crown lower and raising questions about how soon interest rates will rise. Gross domestic product contracted 0.6 per cent in the fourth quarter from the third, against forecasts for a 0.3 per cent increase. The third-quarter GDP figure was revised to show a 0.1 per cent quarterly decline from an original 0.2 per cent gain, the statistics office said. This meant the economy fell back into recession, based on a widely held definition of the term. Economists were divided over the implications of the numbers. http://www.businessspectator.com.au/bs.nsf/Article/UPDATE-1-Sweden-unexpectedly-slides-back-into-rece-35D8L?opendocument&src=rss Some said GDP often gets revised sharply and this did not change the overall economic picture. Others said this made central bank forecasts for a rate rise this summer look dangerous. |
Did I hear someone say "New world order"!!!! |
SEWELL CHAN The New York Times February 27, 2010 A D V E R T I S E M E N T The chief of the International Monetary Fund said Friday that the organization should reorient itself to better detect systemic risks to the global economy and quickly step in with emergency loans when financial crises emerge. The I.M.F. leader, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, also floated the idea of creating a global reserve currency that could serve as an alternative to the dollar. After a speech at the I.M.F. headquarters, Mr. Strauss-Kahn said in response to a question about the fiscal crisis in Greece that the fund would be “happy to help if asked” but that the European Union appeared able to resolve the crisis on its own. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/27/business/27imf.html |
