Tim Reid Times Online April 9, 2010 A D V E R T I S E M E N T George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld covered up that hundreds of innocent men were sent to the Guantánamo Bay prison camp because they feared that releasing them would harm the push for war in Iraq and the broader War on Terror, according to a new document obtained by The Times. The accusations were made by Lawrence Wilkerson, a top aide to Colin Powell, the former Republican Secretary of State, in a signed declaration to support a lawsuit filed by a Guantánamo detainee. It is the first time that such allegations have been made by a senior member of the Bush Administration. Colonel Wilkerson, who was General Powell’s chief of staff when he ran the State Department, was most critical of Mr Cheney and Mr Rumsfeld. He claimed that the former Vice-President and Defence Secretary knew that the majority of the initial 742 detainees sent to Guantánamo in 2002 were innocent but believed that it was “politically impossible to release them”. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article7092435.ece

agathamari:@agathamari I understand how you feel and trust me I dont mean to do know harm. I believe the truth is very important and that is what I am trying to expose. In response to your above statement if you truly knew anything about America or its people you would know that if you so called claims were true the American people (the 5 families in particular) would have already had their justice on whatever politicans hatched such a planThe families affected by the 9/11 terrorist attack have been fighting for justice since 2001, and they are constantly in court over this issue. (see link below) http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/14/nyregion/14york.html we didn't need this to justify anything in the middle east - we have been there in one form or another since the mid 1970'sYou are right the US has been in the middle east since the 70's, but the question you failed to ask yourself is how and why did they get into the middle east? America went into the middle east in the 70's to control its oil. It even overthrew a democratically elected government in Iran to achieve this goal;sounds like a conspiracy http://www.nytimes.com/library/world/mideast/041600iran-cia-index.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Iranian_coup_d'%C3%A9tat are you claiming now that when bill clinton told the Afghanistan government to release osama bin laden from custody 5 years before hand that the democrats were the ones who hatched this plan?of course, its no longer news that the US funded the Taliban in Afghanistan and used them as a tool to overthrow the soviets in the war against the soviets. http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=3556 kinda puts a kink in your "evil george bush" propaganda your so fond of.I dont make statments without backing it up with facts. The bush family are a "evil"one. They even funded the nazis in the ww2 http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2004/sep/25/usa.secondworldwar tower 7 has already been explained to you. stop your nonsense and do your research. i suggest opening a book on structural mechanics, physics, chemistry and building codes to name a few.I guess you didnt read my response with regards to building 7, if you didnt you can view it https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-410727.0.html Lastly, I don't hate the US, I love America. I just don't like their foreign policies. |
“Violence in Video Games” was produced to demonstrate the close similarities between real-world violence and simulated violence included in video games. The video juxtapositions scenes captured in the real-world and those that exist in the fantasy game world depicted in the Call of Duty series. Shooting dogs, beating children and murdering innocent civilians are dwarfed by the amount of unmitigated evil game developers are having their heroes portray. Call of Duty is currently the most popular first-person shooter video game series on the market. The game overshadows in popularity and sales Grand Theft Auto and Halo. Current versions of the game include torture of captured enemy combatants, burning prisoners alive with Molotov cocktails, shooting soldiers who surrender, and the terrorist slaughter of civilians in a Russian airport. For the less gung-ho (and psychopathic), the latest version of Call of Duty allows players to opt-out of the scene depicting the murder of innocent civilians. Video games play an important role in training U.S. soldiers as they prepare for combat. In 2008, the Army invested $50 million for the development of video games and a gaming system designed to train soldiers for combat. “With the new platform and games, Army programmers hope to offer more life-like reproductions of battlefield scenarios, offering editable terrains, a greater capacity for multi-player action and larger battlefields,” writes Switched, an AOL electronics website. The current version of Call of Duty was not available in 2007 when soldiers massacred a Reuters cameraman and other civilians in Baghdad. However, considering the way the soldiers acted, you wouldn’t know it. http://www.infowars.com/violence-in-video-games-and-the-baghdad-massacre/ |
Ubiman:@ubiman I dont mean to do anyone any harm. I am only trying to expose the truth, and the truth is "elements in the US government" planned the attack on 9/11 to justify their invasion in the middle east. |
i hope so |

Rumours of a link between the US first family and the Nazi war machine have circulated for decades. Now the Guardian can reveal how repercussions of events that culminated in action under the Trading with the Enemy Act are still being felt by today's president http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2004/sep/25/usa.secondworldwar |

As the US is preparing to prosecute the alleged mastermind of the September 11, 2001 attacks, al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has threatened American citizens with new assaults. Bin Laden issued the new warning in a new audio message broadcast on al-Jazeera television on Thursday. Prosecutors are expected to seek the death penalty for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other people allegedly involved in the 9/11 attacks. "The day America will take such a decision [to execute Mohammed and any others], it would have taken a decision to execute whoever we capture," bin Laden said. He added that US President Barack Obama was "following the footsteps of his predecessor [George W. Bush].” Mohammed has been in US custody since March 2003, when he was captured in the Pakistani city of Rawalpindi. After initially blaming bin Laden and attacking Afghanistan in order to capture the Saudi national, US officials changed focus of their attention and announced that the main culprit has been transferred to the Guantanamo Bay prison. In March 2007, Combatant Status Review Tribunal Hearing in Guantanamo claimed Mohammed and four co-defendants confessed to plotting for the attacks. On December 8, 2008, they allegedly sent a note to the military judge expressing their desire to confess and plead guilty. Human rights groups say the harsh treatment inflicted on Mohammed during his stay at Guantanamo amounts to torture, questioning credibility of the confessions under interrogation.

The fact that i have pointed out things which i feel cripple my people does not mean that i am bashing them, im merely holding up a mirror and saying: this is who we are. there is no point going through life in denial because sooner or later you will be forced to confront the truth no matter how hard it is.@cap28 You are very correct, I am quite happy to have found someone who shares my views as well. You have said it all. The first thing for us to do is to start to create the needed awareness to our people with a view of opening their eyes!!! |
cap28:@cap28 Please tell them!! I have been trying to do similar |
my take on the issue is that its too early to say, but regardless I feel another global financial crisis maybe looming. Anyway thats my personal opinion I may be wrong or right!! |
Mariory:what is written English? Do you understand English? Please try and stick to the issues!!! US wages food war against somalia. A piece of advice try and respect other peoples views, I agree you dont have to agree with them but please avoid character assassination!! |
Beaf:Stick to the issues for once and stop all these character assassination. Are you aware of C.I.A activites with regards to humans? If you dont know, you simply ignore the thread, you dont have to comment in all the post. |
coldhearts:@coldhearts Thanks for your comments, what I met by mental slavery is that like you rightly pointed out Africans have the ability to achieve greatness like their counterparts in other continents but sadly the average African with the exception of a few do not realise this. Another point I would like to make is that mental slavery can be seen in conjunction with a humanties term known as "auto-transcendence" which means in lay man's term the ability to move from one stage to another. Like you rightly pointed the average african seems to be contented with present achievement, he seldom tries to achieve greater things. I believe these are some of the things that has kept Africa down. Thus, there is need for the emancipation of the mind, so that we can begin to discover our potentials and what we are capable of doing. How can we achieve this? By creating awareness with a view of educating people. I hope my view is clear |
I guess its becoming more apparent that nigeria is fighting two wars 1.Internal 2.External The internal, everybody seems to know about this;corruption, poor leadership, tribalism e.t.c While the second is external which include the outside forces who bent on spilting nigeria for geo-political and economic gains and the include UK,US,Russia and the new kid on the block(china). If at all the entity called "Nigeria" fails to exist no more. I believe the above countries played majors roles in our disintegration. As we battle our internal problems, we should be aware of the other side of the coin. |
coldhearts:Talk about war on terror!! or is it war on oil? Over 1million iraqi men, women and children died since the invasion of iraq by US and UK forces. Nobody seems to be talking about it,maybe its because iraqi lives are of little or no significance. Nobody is talking about trying Tony blair and george bush for war crimes. I just dont get it |
In Nigeria? It's next to nothing.A police officer can take you out for less than N50 irrespective of who you are!u r right!! |
Putting a price on Afghan life AlJazeera March 19, 2010 What is the price of a human life? In Afghanistan, if foreign troops kill an innocent civilian by accident, families may receive compensations of around $2,500. But there is no fixed system for compensation – something that Stanley McChrystal, the top US general in Afghanistan, is now calling for. But many bereaved families aren’t convinced that money will heal deep wounds. Al Jazeera’s Hoda Abdel Hamid reports from Kabul – where civilian casualties are rising. http://www.uruknet.info/index.php?p=m64318&hd=&size=1&l=e |
Putin Says Iran’s Nuke Plant Should Be On Line by Summer Fox News March 18, 2010 A D V E R T I S E M E N T Russia has been helping Iran build the plant in the southern city of Bushehr since the mid-90s but its launch has been marred by a series of delays and setbacks. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said Thursday that Iran’s first nuclear power plant, which Russia is building, should come online this summer, Russian news agencies reported. “The launch of the first unit of Iran’s nuclear power station should be implemented already this summer,” Putin was quoted as saying at a meeting on nuclear industry matters in the city of Volgodonsk in southern Russia. Blair’s fight to keep his oil cash secret Jason Groves Mail Online March 19, 2010 A D V E R T I S E M E N T Tony Blair waged an extraordinary two-year battle to keep secret a lucrative deal with a multinational oil giant which has extensive interests in Iraq. The former Prime Minister tried to keep the public in the dark over his dealings with South Korean oil firm UI Energy Corporation. Mr Blair – who has made at least £20million since leaving Downing Street in June 2007 – also went to great efforts to keep hidden a £1million deal advising the ruling royal family in Iraq’s neighbour Kuwait. In an unprecedented move, he persuaded the committee which vets the jobs of former ministers to keep details of both deals from the public for 20 months, claiming it was commercially sensitive. The deals emerged yesterday when the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments finally lost patience with Mr Blair and decided to ignore his objections and publish the details. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1259030/Tony-Blairs-secret-dealings-South-Korean-oil-firm-UI-Energy-Corp.html |
@morpheus I understand your standpoint, you are right he has a right to privacy, but again dont you think he should publish it so that all these conspiracies and rumours surrounding his birth would be put to rest once and for all? |
"But look at China and Africa today! What made the big difference? Faced with the same White Peril as the Africans, the Chinese, from 1840 onwards, went into a political and social convulsion and into an intellectual ferment. The Chinese people staged reform and revolutionary movements which aimed to extricate China from the foreigners grip, rebellions flared up repeatedly against the Chinese Government for being ineffective in defending China from foreign invaders"@coldhearts well spoken, you hit the points very well. Africa still suffers from mental slavery |
@otawa mairory posted links which include what he perceived as an explanation for the collapse of WTC 7. I responded appropriately highlighting some of the lacunas https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-410727.0.html see above link |
@tpia but why cant his records simply be released for public scrutiny? i dont get it. exactly, what is he hiding? Let him release his records so that people would know the truth. when i intially posted this topic, some people in this forum called me all sorts of names including a racist. But I guess gradually the truth is beginning to come out. Let him publish his birth certificate!! |

but i don't think Nigerians or most of africa suffer from mental slavery at all. I'm not sure why you wrote that (maybe that's pushing it a bit too far
). You have to understand that the average Nigerian doesn't care about "whites" nor slavery - be it mental or whatever lol. This is a good thing because nothing stops them from accomplishing any task when they choose to- most live, work hard (try to be self sufficient however possible) then die off- end of story (just like many places in the world). Granted we have more hardship, hopefully that would ease in the future with good leadership.
