Timi Frank condemns declaration of Paul Biya as winner of Cameroon’s presidential election




Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has strongly condemned the
declaration of Paul Biya as winner of the recent presidential election in Cameroon.

Frank in a statement in Abuja, described the announcement of the 93 year old Biya as an insult to democracy and a brazen fraud that must be rejected by all who believe in justice and freedom.

He said: “The so-called results announced by the regime are a fabrication and a clear subversion of the people’s will.

“The world must not stand by while democracy in Cameroon is strangled in broad daylight.”

He lamented that peaceful protesters who took to the streets to denounce the daylight robbery of their votes have been met with gunfire, brutality, and mass arrests.

“Innocent Cameroonians are being killed by their own security forces simply for demanding that their votes count.

“This bloodshed must end immediately. Those who ordered and carried out these killings must be held personally accountable before international law.

“The International Criminal Court (ICC) and the United Nations (UN) must investigate and ensure that justice is done.”

According to Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and Middle East, the African Union’s “shameful silence in the face of such blatant electoral robbery is a betrayal of its founding principles.”

He added: “By refusing to speak out or act, the AU is enabling tyranny and helping destroy democracy on the continent.

“It is this silence and hypocrisy that fuel coups and instability in Africa, when the people are denied peaceful paths to change, they are pushed to desperation.

“The time has come for the AU to choose between complicity and conscience.”

He called on the United States, the European Union, the United Nations, and all responsible nations to impose targeted sanctions on Paul Biya’s regime, “including travel bans, asset freezes, and suspension of military assistance.”

He added: “The international community must make it clear that those who rig elections, kill citizens, and destroy democratic institutions will pay a heavy price.

“Anything less would embolden other dictators across Africa to repeat this travesty.”

He insisted that the true winner of the Cameroonian election remains Issa Tchiroma Bakary; whose mandate reflects the genuine will of the people.

“The international community must recognise this fact and pressure Paul Biya to step down,” he said.

He urged Cameroonians not to surrender their future to a regime that survives on repression and deceit.

“To the brave people of Cameroon: your courage in the face of tyranny is a beacon of hope.

“Defend your mandate, stand for your democracy, but remain peaceful and united.
The world is watching, and history is on your side.”

According to him, if the world fails to act decisively now, it would set a dangerous precedent, “one that tells African leaders that rigging elections, silencing opponents, and murdering citizens come without consequence.

“This must not happen. The time to act is now. The world must stand with the people of Cameroon and make it clear that stolen elections and blood-stained power have no place in the 21st century,” he said.

The Leaders and Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party from Lokoja Local Government led by Hon Baba Sule Dan Sarki, have resolved to drum support for Hon. Abdulkadir Ibrahim for the office of the PDP National Youth Leader.

The Stakeholders and Leaders took their advocacy to the State Party Secretariate.


The delegation was received by the State Chairman, who assured that the State is putting in place mechanism to ensure that the State picks the office of the Youth Leader.

The Stakeholders described Hon. Abdulkadir Ibrahim as a useful and resourceful youths, assured that he has what it takes to hold the office of the Youth Leader.

Hon. Baba Sule Dan Sarki, who spoke at the visit, described Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim as one who will make the party proud, said he has contributed handsomely to the growth of the State PDP.

The Democratic Youth Alliance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State calls on the Screening Committee of our party to disqualify Hon. Emmanuel Olowakayode Eseyin (K12) from taking part in the ongoing screening process ahead of the 2025 Elective National Convention.

This request is based on clear inconsistencies in his loyalty to the PDP and his active involvement in various events organized by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State. These actions show serious indiscipline and are in direct opposition to the principles and values of the PDP.

We urge the Screening Committee, led by Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, with Asue Ighodalo, Esq. as Secretary, as well as the National Executive Committee (NEC) of our party, to carefully examine Hon. PDP Concerned Youths Warn Against Double-Standard Politics in National Youth Leader Contest

The Concerned Youths of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have urged the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party to distance itself from the ambitions of Hon. Emmanuel Olowakayode Eseyin (K12). They accuse him of practising two-faced politics and being too close to the Kogi State Government.

In a statement to the press, the group expressed disappointment over Hon. Eseyin’s lack of loyalty to the PDP. They noted that he has been seen multiple times socializing with officials from the ruling party in Kogi State.

The group also asked PDP leaders, stakeholders, and party members across Kogi State to identify and support a more capable and sincere candidate who can genuinely represent the interests of the youth at the national level.

“Our great party, the PDP, is transforming towards integrity, transparency, and true service,” the statement said. “We must ensure that only leaders with genuine intentions and strong commitment to party values are given positions of responsibility. Those with compromised principles cannot truly represent the interests of PDP youths.”

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has condemned, in strong terms, the unlawful arrest and detention of human rights activist and pro-democracy campaigner, Omoyele Sowore, by the Nigeria Police.

“We strongly condemn this reckless action as an assault on democracy, freedom of speech, and the fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Frank said in a statement in Abuja.

“The arrest of Sowore is not only unjustifiable but represents a dangerous slide towards authoritarianism in a country that claims to operate under democratic principles.”

According to him, it is unacceptable that in 2025, Nigerians are still being harassed, intimidated, and detained for peacefully expressing dissenting opinions or calling for good governance.

“The right to protest, to assemble, and to hold government accountable are fundamental pillars of any true democracy,” he said. “Suppressing these rights through intimidation and arbitrary arrests is a betrayal of the democratic promises made to the Nigerian people.”

Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), Ambassador to East Africa and Middle East, called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and all relevant authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Sowore and other peaceful protesters arrested in Abuja and across the country.

“Tinubu’s administration must demonstrate commitment to the rule of law and respect for human rights by ending the culture of fear and intimidation.

“Nigeria is currently facing serious security, economic, and governance challenges that require constructive engagement, not repression,” he said.

He urged the government to focus its energy on addressing pressing national issues instead of silencing voices of dissent.

He said: “It is unbecoming of this administration to intimidate and oppress citizens in a democratic period like this.

“We are not under military rule where dissent is a crime. This is supposed to be a democracy that Nigeria is practising.

“Yet, under this administration, we are witnessing dictatorship, oppression, and the suppression of free speech.

“This is why the international community cannot take Nigeria or this administration seriously.

“There are so many serious security issues in the country. We expect our security agencies to channel their energy towards arresting bandits, criminals, and Boko Haram members, not innocent citizens who are peacefully protesting against bad governance.

“If the administration were doing what is right and keeping its campaign promises to Nigerians, nobody would criticise or take to the streets.

“Arresting unarmed citizens anytime there’s a protest is totally wrong and must stop.”

He called on the National Human Rights Commission, civil society groups, and the international community, including the United States Government, the European Union, and the United Nations Human Rights Council, to intervene and prevail on the Nigerian government to respect the rights of its citizens.

He said: “We saw recently how there were massive protests in America and other parts of the world against Donald Trump’s administration.

“Yet, Trump or the American government never tear-gassed or arrested peaceful protesters.

“That is what true democracy looks like. True leaders, like Trump in that instance, understand that citizens have the right to criticise their government.

“Nigeria has now become a country where the government oppresses its citizens. This administration has turned dictatorial and despotic.

“While insecurity ravages the nation, they focus on intimidating citizens instead of fighting corruption.

“In this government, people who loot the country are rewarded. They negotiate with bandits and criminals while they harass, intimidate, and arrest peaceful protesters.

“The same thing is happening to journalists. Today in Nigeria, journalists have no press freedom. This administration is now worse than some military regimes of the past.

“They also intimidate and oppress members of the opposition political parties, forcing people to join their party or face arrest and prosecution.

“We are using this opportunity to call on the international community, especially the American government, to help rescue Nigerians from the hands of this administration.”

Dr. Folabora expressed his sympathy for the victims of the tragic fire that destroyed their shops in Kabba on Monday night.

The fire caused millions of naira in damage and left many traders and families in despair. Numerous people lost their sources of income.

In his statement, Dr. Folabora described the event as deeply saddening. He called on the Kogi State Government to quickly mobilize emergency and relief agencies to help ease the impact on the victims. He pointed out that, given the current economic situation, immediate support is crucial for those affected to begin recovering.

“I stand with the victims of this unfortunate event,” Dr. Folabora said. “We must come together as a community to help those who are suffering. I urge the government and caring individuals to act quickly in providing relief.”

Timi Frank Urges Trump, World Leaders to Recognise Tchiroma Bakary as Cameroon’s President-Elect, Sanction Biya’s Regime




Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, Comrade Timi Frank, has called on President Donald Trump and leaders of the international community to recognise opposition presidential candidate, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, as the duly elected President of Cameroon.

Frank made the call in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, following widespread allegations of President Paul Biya’s attempt to thwart the will of the people by again seeking to manipulate the results to elongate his stay in office.

Citing publicly posted polling unit results and region-by-region vote tallies, Frank asserted that the data clearly shows Tchiroma Bakary as the legitimate winner of the election.

“From all indications, the people of Cameroon have spoken through the ballot and overwhelmingly chosen Issa Tchiroma Bakary. But as we’ve seen too often in Africa, the will of the people is under threat from entrenched dictatorships,” he said.

Frank condemned the Biya regime’s alleged intimidation, harassment, and violence against citizens protesting against attempt to upturn the results of the election, warning that any attempt to manipulate the outcome through the courts could push the nation into unprecedented crisis.

“Paul Biya, at 92, remains Africa’s longest-serving leader. His refusal to relinquish power despite popular rejection is a mockery of democracy,” Frank stated. “Cameroon is already burning because the youth are rejecting attempts ti manipulate the outcome in favour of Biya. They know who truly won,” he said.

He appealed to the United States, European Union, African Union, and other democratic actors to withhold recognition of Biya and instead recognise Issa Tchiroma Bakary as the rightful president-elect.

He also urged them to impose targeted sanctions on the Biya regime if the electoral result is tampered with.

“I call on President Donald Trump and other global leaders to help Cameroonians by recognising Bakary and by imposing diplomatic and economic sanctions on Biya’s regime. The rigging of elections in Africa must stop. The time has come for the will of the people to prevail.”

Frank commended Trump for his recent diplomatic efforts in the Middle East and urged him to turn global attention to Africa’s deepening democratic crisis.

He warned that failure to hold leaders accountable could encourage further democratic backsliding across the continent, including Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

“If the international community does not act now, what is happening in Cameroon may soon be replicated elsewhere, including Nigeria. The African Union must also act urgently. Silence is not neutrality — it is complicity,” he warned.

Frank also issued a strong plea to Cameroon’s military and police forces to end the violent crackdown on peaceful demonstrators and respect the right of citizens to protest.

“We call on Cameroon’s security forces to stop arresting, tear-gassing, and killing peaceful protesters. They must uphold the constitution and protect the people’s democratic rights,” he said.

He praised the courage of Cameroonian youth, who he described as the driving force behind the country’s democratic awakening.

“This young generation has decided that enough is enough. They are standing up to decades of authoritarian rule, and we join them in their quest to reclaim their nation peacefully and democratically,” Frank declared.

Drawing parallels to other political crises across Africa, Frank cited Ivory Coast, where President Alassane Ouattara, now 83, is reportedly seeking a controversial fourth term in office.

“From Cameroon to Ivory Coast, we are seeing the same dangerous pattern of leaders clinging to power. This must stop if Africa is to progress,” he said.

He called on world leaders to set a precedent for electoral justice in Africa.

“We urge all global democratic actors to recognise Bakary as the winner of this election. The time to act is now — to save Cameroon and defend democracy across Africa,” he said.

Prince Abubakar Audu was instrumental to the formation of All Progressive Congress APC at the national level through the merger of ANPP into what is now known as APC . He brought APC to Kogi State and was the pioneer Leader of the party upon which he later contested as Governor and coast to Victory before his demised, and the second runner Alh. Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately sack the nation’s security chiefs following the unabated killings of Nigerians across the country.

Frank, in a statement in Abuja, in reaction to the fresh killing of soldiers in Borno state by suspected Boko Haram insurgents, expressed deep concern over the rising wave of insecurity, banditry, and kidnappings, describing the situation as a national tragedy that requires urgent executive action.

According to Frank, Nigerians are being killed “like chickens” daily across the North, South, East, and West, a clear indication that the country’s security architecture has collapsed under the current leadership.

“Our soldiers and policemen are dying in large numbers due to poor funding and lack of proper equipment. Despite massive budgetary allocations to the security sector, the funds do not reach the men and women on the front lines, nor are they used to purchase the right equipment needed to combat insecurity,” the statement read.

Frank stated that the continuous killings have attracted international attention and commended U.S. President Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz, for their advocacy on behalf of Nigerians, especially their condemnation of the incessant killing of Nigerians in parts of the country.

“We commend President Donald Trump for his concern and moral courage in speaking against the killings of Nigerians. We equally commend Senator Ted Cruz for lending his voice to these injustices. Their actions have helped to break the silence of our political class, especially those in the ruling party,” the statement added.

Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, also urged the United States government, under the leadership of President Trump and other international partners, to intensify pressure on the Nigerian government to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“This administration cannot continue to negotiate with terrorists while detaining innocent and peaceful Nigerians. We therefore call on the international community, especially the U.S. government, to intervene and pressurise President Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu immediately,” he said.

The statement further commended President Trump for his leadership in facilitating negotiations for the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza, urging him to “show the same compassion and leadership” by lending his voice to the call for Nnamdi Kanu’s release.

He also lauded activist Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), for boldly leading the call for Kanu’s unconditional release from detention.

On Nigeria–U.S. relations, Frank emphasised the importance of preserving the historic friendship between both nations.

“Nigeria has always maintained a cordial relationship with the United States. We will not allow any government or individuals to destroy that friendship. As Nigerians, we remain committed to strengthening our ties with the U.S. in the interest of peace, democracy, and global security,” he said.

He lambasted the Nigerian Senate for criticising Ted Cruz over his comments about killing of innocent Nigerians describing them a as a “disgrace and disappointment.”

“If the Senate and by extension the National Assembly had faithfully and diligently carried out their constitutional mandate of oversight and representation in checkmating executive recklessness like the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu and getting the security chiefs to act in protecting the lives and property of Nigerians, Senator Ted Cruz would not have picked on Nigeria as a good example of unwarranted attacks,
killings and intimidation of innocent citizens by deadly gangs.

“Look at how they took their time to respond to Senator Ted Cruz’s comments, while they failed over the years to stand for justice by calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu or to ensure through their oversight powers that the security chiefs live up to their mandate to protect defenceless Nigerians from horrific attacks and killings,” he said.

The Prophet, while reacting to newsmen, on the development, said the opposition to the pardon and release of Nnamdi Kanu by the Igbos and the insults they have been hurling at him for making such patriotic call is the exact reason it will be difficult for an Igbo person to be President of Nigeria.

He emphasized further that his call for the pardon and release of Nnamdi Kanu is a patriotic call from a place of humanity in him and that he is shocked that the Igbos will not keep their egos aside and join in the call for the pardon and release of Nnamdi Kanu.

He prayed Almighty God to touch the heart of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pardon and release Nnamdi Kanu with the belief that the detention of Nnamdi Kanu is long overdue and that a human approach, not detention will be a way forward now.

Dr. Folabora Bryhm has shared his deep sadness and sent heartfelt condolences after the tragic boat mishap that took place in Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State. The accident claimed the lives of 26 passengers.

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Thursday, called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently suspend Nyesom Wike as minister of FCT and cause investigation to be carried out
on his US property scandal.

Frank who made this assertion in a statement in Abuja, called on the President to break his silence on the scandal and demonstrate the same commitment to accountability like the way he acted swiftly and unequivocally in suspending former cabinet minister Betta Edu over corruption charges far less serious than those now confronting Minister Wike.

According to media reports, Wike allegedly acquired property in Florida, and to hide the assets, he allegedly registered them under his wife’s name, Justice Eberechi Wike, and children, Joaquin, Jazmyne, and Jordan.

According to the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle, President Tinubu's silence in the face of overwhelming evidence of the houses in public domain is troubling.

“With detailed reports from credible sources such as People's Gazette and Sahara Reporters, and with glaring evidence ignored by anti-corruption agencies like EFCC and ICPC, it sends a dangerous message that some officials are untouchable,” he lamented.

He urged the President to be aware that impunity and arrogance of government officials like Wike weakens citizens trust in governance and contribute to revolts like the Nepal uprising.

He commended Omoyele Sowore of Sahara Reporters and the Publishers of People’s Gazette for their courage in exposing corruption in the country, irrespective of serving government officials involved.

He warned Tinubu not to make any official in his cabinet feel as if they are untouchable or they are God.

He stated that the Presidency represents the integrity of Nigeria and must uphold the principle that no one is above the law, regardless of political alliances.

Frank added: “The reasons behind this continued inaction in the case are of Wike appear tied to the political calculations surrounding the 2027 presidential elections.

“However, allowing political ambition to shield corruption will irreparably harm Nigeria’s reputation internationally.

“The world is watching, and this selective justice undermines investor confidence and portrays Nigeria as a nation unable or unwilling to fight corruption—even within its highest offices.

“Furthermore, even when crises erupted in Rivers State, President Tinubu suspended only Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the House of Assembly members while leaving the Minister of FCT, Wike, untouched.

“This inconsistency fuels suspicions of favoritism and political shielding. Nigerians and the international community deserve to know why the President appears reluctant to confront alleged corruption linked to a close political ally.

“Selective enforcement of the law erodes national pride and makes Nigeria a laughing stock among peer nations, many of whom prosecute corruption allegations without hesitation.

“We urge President Tinubu to immediately suspend and commission an independent investigation into Minister Wike, just as was done with Betta Edu.

“The President should protect the dignity of Nigeria and the trust of its citizens by rejecting selective justice and political expediency. The integrity of Nigeria’s governance and its image on the global stage depend on it.”

A group under the aegis of Plateau Network for Social Justice and Reform (PNSJR) has strongly condemned the continuous protests by a cross-section of workers at the National Metallurgical Development Centre (NMDC) Jos, which has disrupted activities of the centre in last two weeks.

LEADERSHIP reports that the workers had embarked on protests demanding for the immediate removal of the Director-General of the Centre, alleging maladministration.

PNSJR in a statement signed by its president, Timothy Dallak, and secretary, Hon. Daniel Abubakar, respectively, expressed disappointment over a series of protests by workers despite the efforts by the management team led by the director general, Professor Linus Asuquo to reposition the centre.

The group also emphasised that it was obvious and crystal clear that the Centre was in a comatose state and lying prostrate prior to the appointment of Professor Asuquo as Director-General, and that the call for his removal was surprising given the agency’s recent turn.

According to the group, the call for the removal of the Director-General was too flimsy, especially as the implementation of their demands was not within the chief executive’s authority and the workers should have known that only the ministry has the answer to their demands.

“Our findings reveal that the protest is being sponsored by a few insiders who perceived Asuquo, leadership, particularly, the renewal of his tenure, as a threat to their atrocities and as well as a means to force his removal in order for one of them, who is about to retire, to take over the centre’s leadership.

“Most of the issues raised can be cross-checked with the ministry. So, why the protest? Concerning financial irregularities, the two anti-graft agencies as we learnt had reviewed the petitions against the Director-General and exonerated him.

“The overseeing ministry cannot afford to remain silent on this, the workers must be called to order. It was so embarrassing that the Permanent Secretary, during his official visit to the Centre, was almost prevented from gaining entrance into the centre all his efforts to calm down the few workers protesting were futile .

“Given Plateau State’s, unpredicted nature, our main concern right now is that peace be allowed to rule. So that bad elements do not exploit the protest to sow mayhem”

The group urged the minister of Steel Development, Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu, and the permanent secretary of the ministry to as a matter of urgency call the individuals behind the protest to order and address the concerns, while those found wanting should face consequences.

PNSJR on the other hand, praised the director-general’s huge strides in the face of diminishing funding over the last four years, claiming that NMDC was one of the abandoned agencies prior to his appointment.

Dr. Folabora Bryhm condemned the tragic killings in Egbe, Yagba-West Local Government Area of Kogi State. This heartbreaking incident has left the community in shock and deep mourning.

Dr. Folabora expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, the Egbe community, the entire Yagba-West Local Government Area, and the Nigerian Police Force. Their brave officers made the ultimate sacrifice while on duty. We will always remember their sacrifice.

Dr. Folabora called on both the state and federal governments to take swift action to ensure those responsible for this senseless violence face justice. There is an urgent need for prompt intervention to restore peace and heal the wounds caused by this tragedy. The security forces need to have the tools and resources necessary for effective operations.

Dr. Folabora also urged citizens to stay alert and fully cooperate with law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activities. Our shared determination and unity will greatly help in reducing crime in our community.

Commending INEC’s recognition of the David Mark-led African Democratic Congress (ADC) leadership, Frank called this a positive step toward electoral inclusiveness and credibility.

He said, “This bold and positive action should not stand alone. As the nation looks ahead to the 2027 general elections, INEC must replicate this same spirit of independence and courage in the overall conduct of the polls.

“Now that the new leadership of the ADC has been recognised by INEC, we urge Nigerians to repose confidence in and support it as the party that would change Nigeria for the better and ensure freedom and prosperity for all. We also urge Nigerians to be prepared to vote and defend their votes in 2027.”


Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, warned that despite this progress, Nigerians remain skeptical of INEC’s neutrality due to contrived irregularities in the 2023 elections that favoured the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He assured INEC that anytime they act rightly, like they have done in recognising the David Mark-led leadership of the ADC and their pre-qualification of 14 associations for registration as political parties, he would commend them.

He declared however, that whenever they act contrary to their mandate as an umpire like their observable compromised stance on the recent by-elections, he would criticise them.

He said: “The by-elections recently conducted across the country showed avoidable lapses deliberately orchestrated by INEC to further their partisan interests - one reason Nigerians distrusts them because they've not been doing the right thing.

He stressed: “Democracy thrives when arbiters remain neutral, courageous, and consistent in the face of political pressure. Nigeria’s democratic future and socio-economic development depends on bold decisions such as this.”

To restore trust, Frank demanded that the Commission must push the National Assembly for constitutional and electoral reforms, including electronic transmission of results, and purge partisan officials aligned with the APC.

He also called for the selection of a new INEC chairman with proven integrity now that the tenure of Mahmood Yakubu is about to elapse.

Highlighting the essential role of security agencies, Frank warned: “Security agencies must be unbiased and stop their usual role in rigging elections for the ruling party.

“They must protect voters and prevent political violence. Failure to do so risks pushing Nigeria into a situation worse than Nepal’s recent unrest, given our challenges with poverty and tyranny.”

On voter engagement, he urged Nigerians to register and defend their votes but cautioned that low turnout reflects widespread lack of confidence in INEC’s impartiality.

Frank also challenged the judiciary to uphold justice without bias, serving as a true custodian of democracy rather than an extension of ruling party interests.

“Justice must not only be done but be seen to have been done. We will hold accountable any judge compromised by partisan influence.

“Let the Nigeria judiciary, especially the justices and judges to know that Nigerians will continue to shine searchlights on them since most of the electoral disputes often end up in their dockets.”

He concluded by warning that without urgent reforms and ethical leadership by electoral and security institutions, Nigeria faces heightened risk of violence and political instability akin to the ENDSARS and Nepal upheaval, undermining the nation’s democratic gains.

He called on President Donald Trump and other members of the international community to help pressurise the Nigerian government, especially INEC and the National Assembly to prioritise electoral reforms without which there cannot be free and fair elections in 2027. .

He urged the U.S. to help impose stiffer sanctions on judges, justices and INEC officials that may compromise the electoral process, saying, “We believe and support Donald Trump’s position on enthroning true democracy across Africa.”

Former House of Representatives aspirant, Captain Timi Iyela, on Thursday commiserated with the families of policemen killed in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Iyela expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved, particularly the family of the late Mr. Albert John Dele Jones, an indigene of Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area of the state.

“I am deeply pained by the murder of our gallant police officers by men of the underworld,” he said.

The ex-House of Reps aspirant called on government authorities to immediately launch a thorough investigation into the incident to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

“I sympathise greatly with the families, and I pray Almighty God to grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Iyela concluded.

A Coalition of Civil Society for Energy Reform (CCSER) has warned against the return of the era of fuel scarcity that hindered the country’s socioeconomic development, describing the recent media attacks on Mr. Bayo Ojulari-led Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL).

Convener of the group, Mallam Awaal Dairu, in a statement Wednesday in Abuja, said under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision and Mr. Ojulari’s capable leadership, they are confident that the NNPCL can take its rightful place as a symbol of national pride and global competitiveness.

According to the Coalition, the orchestrated smear campaign, driven by elements of the entrenched cabal, is a desperate attempt to derail reforms at NNPCL and distract from the tangible progress being made under Mr. Ojulari’s leadership.

"It is a dangerous plot not only against an individual but against the stability of Nigeria’s energy sector and the credibility of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR."

The Coalition urged President Tinubu to continue providing unwavering support for Mr. Ojulari, whose leadership has already begun to restore confidence in NNPCL as a national institution that can deliver value to Nigerians and stand tall in the global energy sector.

They equally called on all Nigerians to expose the falsehoods being spread and rally behind reforms that prioritise national interest over selfish, cabal-driven agendas, adding that the fight against corruption and inefficiency will not be easy, but it is necessary for the future of our nation.

They further called on President Tinubu not to be swayed by detractors or manipulated into taking any action that would undermine the steady reforms taking place at NNPC, noting that yielding to such antics would embolden corrupt actors, jeopardise investor trust, and roll back the progress being achieved.

“Gone are the days of favouritism and ‘briefcase portfolio companies’ being handed contracts. Under Mr. Ojulari, due process is strictly followed, and only viable, competent contractors with proven capacity are shortlisted for projects. This fair and merit-based approach has angered vested interests who can no longer benefit from patronage.

“His leadership continues to reassure both local and international investors, particularly International Oil Companies (IOCs), that Nigeria is serious about creating a stable, transparent, and investment-friendly energy sector.

“By all measurable standards, Mr. Ojulari remains one of the best-performing appointees in this administration, with reforms that align directly with the President’s vision for economic transformation.”
