Yesterday morning, I, Okah Ewah Edede, witnessed the strangest, most peculiar, most bizarre, and most absurd scene unfold. A band of merry warriors - staunch supporters of Senator Samuel Anyanwu - marched into the digital battlefield, drums of victory beating in their heads. Why? Because from warped kindergarten understanding, and from analysis of half-baked street ronu criers of APC Online Warriors Association (APC-OWA), that the Supreme Court had restored their champion to his lost throne. Oh, the jubilation! The air was thick with celebratory emojis! Status updates read: "Anyanwu is back! PDP must obey! Joy is coming! Joy has come!" Twitter (or is it still X?) was on fire with memes of their hero reclaiming his stolen mandate. Some even added, in their excitement, "APC 2027 loading!" - a most curious footnote in what should have been a strictly PDP matter. But alas! Tragedy struck. For in their revelry, they failed to pause and ask a most crucial question: "Why is APC so happy about this judgment?" Yes, dear reader, as the digital warriors basked in their premature victory, the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) emerged with the clarity of a priest interrupting a fake miracle crusade. In crisp, unmistakable terms, they declared: "The Supreme Court has ruled that the matter of PDP’s National Secretary is an internal party affair. The PDP, in its wisdom, has resolved that Rt. Hon. SKE Udeh Okoye is the substantive National Secretary. Case closed. Please move along, nothing to see here." Silence. A great hush fell over the battlefield. The APC urchins, who had been dancing at the supposed victory, suddenly lost their rhythm. Panic spread among Anyanwu’s foot soldiers. The air of celebration turned into the smell of burnt jollof rice. Reality dawned, but it was too late. The political chameleons had already changed colors - too publicly, too quickly. Some tried to backtrack, awkwardly adjusting their narratives like a man caught in the act of stealing suya and claiming he was "just checking the temperature of the meat." One particularly dedicated fellow even tried to argue, "Well, PDP is wrong about its own decision!" - a masterstroke of irony, considering the Supreme Court had just told everyone that PDP, and PDP alone, had the power to decide. And so, dear reader, let us take from this tale a lesson in political self-awareness: 1. When your political rival is celebrating something on your behalf, take a moment to wonder why. 2. Before popping champagne, make sure you read the fine print. 3. If the court says the party should decide, and the party has decided, perhaps - just perhaps - it is time to accept reality. But then again, what is Naija politics without its grand theatre of irony? The show must go on! Reflections from an ongoing compendium of political writings from the leaking pen of Okah Ewah Edede - ANA Abuja Short Story of the Fortnight Contest Winner 2024

The political crisis in Rivers State has reached a boiling point, culminating in the declaration of a state of emergency. With the enforcement of Section 305 of the Nigerian Constitution, the acting Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has effectively been removed from office, further deepening the instability in the region. This drastic move is not just a political reshuffling but a ticking time bomb that could set off a devastating chain reaction across the state and beyond. The Fallout: Oil, Fuel, and Security The implications of this decision are severe. Rivers State, being an oil-rich region, is the lifeblood of Nigeria’s crude oil production. The removal of Governor Fubara and the ensuing power struggle create a fertile ground for unrest. History has shown that political instability in the Niger Delta often translates to economic sabotage. We should brace for an increase in oil pipeline vandalism and, potentially, the outright destruction of key oil infrastructure. With pipelines under threat, Nigeria’s already fragile fuel supply chain will be disrupted, leading to further fuel shortages and skyrocketing prices. The economic repercussions will be felt nationwide, as transportation costs will rise, inflation will worsen, and everyday Nigerians will bear the brunt of the instability caused by this reckless political maneuvering. The Wike Factor: Greed and Power-Grabbing At the heart of this crisis lies the unrelenting greed and power grab of Minister Nyesom Wike. His influence in Rivers State politics has been a long-standing issue, with an insatiable desire to maintain control over the state at any cost. His political maneuvers, disguised as governance, are nothing more than an attempt to hold Rivers State hostage for personal and political gains. By orchestrating the removal of Fubara, Wike has not only destabilized the state but has also sent a clear message that his grip on power supersedes the interests of the people. This selfish ambition threatens to plunge Rivers into chaos, creating an opening for militant groups to re-emerge and exploit the unrest. A Rise in Militancy and the Threat to Public Security Rivers State has a dark history of militancy, and the current crisis could see the resurgence of militant groups looking to capitalize on the breakdown of governance. The Niger Delta Avengers, MEND, and other armed groups have historically used political instability as a justification for their attacks on oil installations. This latest development plays directly into their hands, providing them with an opportunity to justify renewed attacks. Beyond economic implications, the security of lives and property is at serious risk. The people of Rivers State, already disillusioned with governance, may find themselves caught in the crossfire of political ambition and militant resurgence. If swift measures are not taken to resolve the crisis diplomatically, the domino effect could engulf the entire Niger Delta in violence, leading to loss of lives, destruction of property, and a major national security crisis. A Call for Wisdom Over Greed The decision to enforce a state of emergency in Rivers State is, at best, a short-sighted attempt at power consolidation. At worst, it is a reckless political gamble that could spiral into a full-blown national crisis. The real issue is not governance but one man's unquenchable thirst for control. The federal government must tread carefully. Nigeria cannot afford another round of militant insurgency, economic sabotage, and mass unrest. The National Youth Alliance (NYA) calls on all stakeholders—government officials, security agencies, and the people of Rivers State—to reject this power grab and demand stability over selfish ambition. The time for action is now. If the wrong decisions are made today, the consequences will be devastating for generations to come. One man’s greed should not be allowed to dictate the fate of an entire state—or the future of Nigeria. • Even Tinubu when he was Governor of Lagos will not accept this type of oppression on his own self - group A group named Niger Delta Youths for Good Governance has on Wednesday condemned the Rivers State House of Assembly for locking out Governor Sim Fubara when he came to present the 2025 budget to the Assembly. The group lamented that "the Rivers State House of Assembly locking its gates against Governor Fubara is the height of humiliation, injustice and oppression on a sitting Governor in the history of democracy on Earth." The group said that "even President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, when he was Governor of Lagos State never faced such humiliation even in the peak of any political crisis in the State under his watch" and that he definitely would not have accepted such treatment if he is to be in Governor Sim Fubara's shoes right now. "Governor Sim Fubara is continually striving for the peace of Rivers State and the peace of Niger Delta but those who are hell-bent on seeing that Rivers State never knows peace are continually frustrating the Governor. "We call on President Tinubu to call these persons disturbing the peace of Rivers State to order. These people disturbing the peace of Rivers State need to be called to order. Governor Sim Fubara is conceding alot of grounds for peace to reign in Rivers State. He cannot be subjected to humiliation, injustice and oppression in return. He is the Executive Governor of the State. He should be so respected. "Once again, we call in Mr President to call on the other group to let peace reign in Rivers State. We can't have two Rivers State. We can only have one, the one being governed by His Excellency Sim Fubara. "If the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly has created his own new Rivers State, maybe now is the proper time for us to know but if there is still only one Rivers State and it is the Rivers State governed by His Excellency Sim Fubara, then we deserve an explanation as to why the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly will lock the Executive Governor of Rivers State out of the Rivers State House of Assembly, knowing he was coming for a very important function that is critical to the well-being and prosperity of the State!" the Niger Delta group further said. Andrew Enantomhen further said that he joins the international community and the PDP family "to congratulate our women and wish them well." "Women are very important in the scheme of things and this is what PDP is known for, which is giving women priority in governance. A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and political activist, Comrade Timi Frank, has called on the Supreme Court Chief Justice and the panel of Justices who heard the recent Rivers State case not to allow desperate attempts to tamper the original judgement. Frank alleged that there were plots by some persons loyal to a former governor of Rivers State to import the issue of defection, which is still at the Appeal Court, into the recent judgement to undermine the ongoing cases. Raising the alarm through a statement released to newsmen Tuesday in Abuja, Comrade Frank, who described the move as a "desperate lobby to smuggle into the Judgment an aspect which was not decided" accused some loyalists of a former Rivers State governor as brains behind the move. "There is an ongoing plot to doctor the Supreme Court Judgement on Rivers and insert issues of defection that were not litigated by the parties by the pro-Wike group to help destroy the pending cases on defection before the Appeal Court and Federal High Court. According to him, the issue of defection and legal battle to decide whether they were right or wrong is presently at the Appeal Court and Federal High Court, where Nigerians are waiting to see the judicial interpretation of the illegal act of cross carpeting at a time there was no division which was also backed by a court affidavit sworn to by the defected lawmakers. "We are calling on the Supreme Court Chief Justice and the Panel of Justices who heard the case to ensure that the desperate attempts of the Wike group do not taint their Judgement and that the issue of defection, which is still at the Appeal Court, is not imported into the Judgement to undermine the ongoing cases. We are confident that the eminent jurist who delivered the Judgment knows the issues at stake and will not fail Nigerians by ensuring that a check is put on the Wike group's political madness and desperation, which is threatening constitutional democracy in Nigeria. "I have just been reliably informed of a last minute desperate moves by Former Gov.Wike and his lawyers working with some elements in the Supreme Court to use the ongoing writing of the Recently delivered Judgement of the Supreme Court on the issue of Rivers LGA election and presentation of Budget to smuggle an item which was never the substantive matter that the Supreme Court decided and which was never part of what was read in the open Court, the issue of the legality of the decampment of the Wike loyal lawmakers from PDP to APC at a time there was no crisis. "This desperate move, which will rubbish the integrity of the Supreme Court if not stopped by our respected jurist, will do irredeemable damage to our nation's apex and respected Court. "The move is to insert over two pages of strange ruling on defection, knowing fully well that the illegal defection of the Wike group of lawmakers was not the subject matter before the Court, but rather on the issue of conduct of LGA election and Amaewhule's claim to speakership based on cases they filled even before their defection. "What they want to push into the Judgment secretly was never part of the ruling of the lower courts or the Supreme Court. They are already celebrating, and my contact in the chamber of one of their lawyers has shown me a draft of what they are confident will be inserted today ahead of the release of the typed CTC of the Judgment today or tomorrow." Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Timi Frank, on Saturday, condemned the Supreme Court judgement that ordered the withdrawal of monthly allocation to local governments in Rivers State. Frank who rejected the judgment and described it as criminal usurpation of allocation rightly belonging to Rivers people, called on Nigerians and members of the international community to hold President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, responsible for any breach of peace and anarchy that may arise from the people’s anger over the gross miscarriage of justice. Frank who made these assertions in a statement in Abuja, said: “From the illegal judgment which came out from the Supreme Court against the Rivers State Government, the whole world knows that this is the most fraudulent judgement ever delivered in the history of Nigeria. “How can the Supreme Court give this kind of anti-truth, anti-God, inhuman, anti-justice and compromised judgement that is obviously meant to give the opposition APC the leeway to take over Rivers State? “This is a clear indication that the Supreme Court under Justice Kekere-Ekun has no capacity to reform the judiciary but rather arresting justice and selling it to the highest bidder. “Besides, it is clear that all the justices that heard this matter merely ruled in favour of their paymaster notwithstanding the interest of the people and the need for peace, stability and development of Rivers, “However, we are not surprised by the ruling especially when we know that the judiciary is the biggest beneficiary from the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike right from his days as a governor to being the Minister of the FCT.” The political activist who is also the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, added: “So any case that involves Wike’s interest in any part of Nigeria, they must definitely rule in his favour. “But we warn the CJN to know that this judicial rascality, which is now the order of the day in the country under her watch, will set Nigeria on fire ans plunge the country into avoidable anarchy. “We make bold to say that everybody knows that the suspended 27 lawmakers from River State, illegally defected from PDP to APC and despite this kangaroo judgement, they are no more members of the Rivers State House of Assembly. “By giving order to withhold the local government allocation to Rivers State is to weaken and undermine the Siminalayi Fubara’s administration and using the order of court to starve the people of Rivers State that voted Fubara to power.” He lamented that despite the judicial overreach, and attempt to foist illegality in Rivers State, President Tinubu sees noting wrong with the affront on democracy in Rivers and by extension, Nigeria despite purportedly claiming to be a defender of democracy. He accused the present administration, led by Tinubu of plotting to take over Rivers State at all cost, by empowering the illegitimate and suspended lawmakers through the courts to impeach Fubara. He however urged the Rivers people, despite the broad day judicial robbery, not to give up the struggle but to stand strong and mobilise necessary support for Fubara who is fighting to save Rivers’ common wealth and defend the nation’s constitution. Edo politics stakeholder and youth advocate, Andrew Enantomhen has on Wednesday condemned Governor Monday Okpebholo over what he term as "abysmal failures due to his bad policies" in the course of his review of the one hundred days the Governor has so far spent in office. Andrew Enantomhen noted that all the gains of the past administration have been rolled back by the current administration led by Governor Monday Okpebholo. "Within one hundred days, Governor Monday Okpebholo has taken us ten steps backwards as a State. We can barely recognize Edo State anymore as within one hundred days of Governor Monday Okpebholo, Edo State is now an eye-sore and a shadow of itself. "The economy of the State is in shambles. Legacy projects have been put on hold. Thugs are back on the street even doing tax collection work. "The infrastructural development of the State is at its lowest level. The only thing Governor Monday Okpebholo and his team have achieved these past one hundred days in office is that they have taken Edo State backwards in every index. "Under the former administration, Edo State was already one of the fastest developing economies in the country, but right now, the reverse is the case. "I condemn in the strongest possible terms, the backwardness approach Governor Monday Okpebholo and his team are giving to the governance of Edo State. We deserve far much more than this. "Yet again, I call on all citizens of Edo State to be calm and patient. Sorrow may last for a night but joy will surely come in the morning. "We are very hopeful that the Judiciary will do the needful and send Governor Monday Okpebholo packing already so that Edo State can be back to moving forward again," Andrew Enantomhen said. Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Monday, appealed to President Bola Tinubu to call the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, ex-Governor Gboyega Oyetola and his APC thugs to order in Osun State. Frank in a statement in Abuja, said the call has become necessary to restore peace in Osun state following clashes between APC and PDP faithful in the state over control of local government areas in which many lives have reportedly been lost. Violence erupted on Monday in Osun State as the battle for the control of the local government secretariats between the PDP and the APC turned bloody. A Court of Appeal judgment was interpreted differently by the APC and the PDP. Adeleke and Oyetola, who is the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy have strongly disagreed over the alleged reinstatement verdict of the Court of Appeal. Governor Adeleke had insisted that the sacked council chairmen cannot return to office, citing security reasons. However, Oyetola said the Appeal Court judgment would be implemented through the instruments of law. He added that the council executives should resume yesterday. Frank said: “Intelligence at our disposal has revealed that the present strategy and plan by Oyetola is to make the state ungovernable for Governor Ademola Adeleke, so they can hide under the guise of crisis in the state to declare a state of emergency in Osun State. He lamented that following the crises orchestrated by Oyetola and his APC thugs, the National Secretary of the APC, Dr Ajibola Basiru, who is from Osun State, had on live television on Monday evening urged the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in the state to curtail further violence. He quoted Basiru to have said that: “I will suggest that perhaps it will be necessary for the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency. It has gotten to that stage where hapless people coming from farms are attacked by uncontrollable PDP thugs.” Frank said: “Their major target is to declare a state of emergency because they know that if the elections are allowed to hold today, Governor Adeleke will still win. “So they want to abort his second term through crisis and violence to pave the way for the declaration of a state of emergency. “The President is hereby called upon to break his silence in spite of the fact that Osun is his State of Origin and home town but the state is being ruled by the PDP and Governor Adedeké is the people's choice. “Therefore, we are using this medium to let him know that if the present crisis is allowed to degenerate beyond what has already happened, both Oyetola and himself, as the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would be held responsible. “Presently, Oyetola is using Federal Might to engineer evil and anarchy in Osun State and this nonsense must stop with all urgency.” Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, called on all well-meaning Nigerians to speak up to save the nation’s democracy “because what is happening in Osun state is sheer impunity, dictatorship and arrogance on the part of the APC that is trying to capture every part of the country at all cost - not through the ballot but through impunity and criminality. “We call on the people of Osun to stand strongly with Governor Adeleke in the face of this aggression being fueled by Oyetola and the APC. “They must not be intimidated but resist the rascality of federal might that the ex-Governor and his party are using the way they have always done. “Come to think of it, Oyetola was governor for four years without any developmental projects to show for it but Adeleke has been there in the last two years and has done so much which has profoundly impacted the lives of the people. “Despite the intimidation we encourage the people of Osun State to stand firm in support for Adeleke, to prevent any form of distraction in rendering good governance in the state as part of his electioneering promises. “They must equally rise up against every plot to declare a state of emergency in the state courtesy of Oyetola and APC through which they intend to destabilize the Adeleke’s administration take over the state by all means because they know that Oyetola or any other APC candidate cannot win an election in the state to unseat Adeleke. “So, that's why Oyetola and APC are very desperate to take the state by force because they believe that that is the President's home town.” Source: https://naijagg.com/timi-frank-to-tinubu-call-oyetola-apc-thugs-in-osun-to-order-over-political-crisis-in-osun/

In a scathing critique, the Youth President has condemned the current state of leadership in Nigeria, accusing politicians and leaders of being selfish, greedy, and cunning. In a heartfelt message, the Youth President reflected on the principles of their forefathers, which emphasized faith, courage, self-respect, self-discipline, and a commitment to justice, fairness, and freedom. These principles, the Youth President noted, enabled their forefathers to survive the oppressive treatment of colonizers. However, the current generation of leaders has failed to uphold these values, leading to widespread disillusionment among young people. The Youth President’s message served as a call to action for the next generation of leaders, urging them to reject the selfish and greedy tendencies of current leaders. Instead, they encouraged young leaders to embrace the principles of their forefathers and work towards creating a better future for Nigeria. As the Youth President poignantly stated, “God save Nigeria.” This sentiment echoes the frustrations and concerns of many young Nigerians who are eager for positive change and effective leadership. COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE MEETING OF NATIONAL WORKING COMMITTEE (NWC) MEMBERS OF SOUTH EAST WITH STATEHOLDERS FROM THE SOUTH EAST ZONE HELD ON TUESDAY, THE 28TH DAY OF JANUARY, 2025 AT THE NEC HALL OF THE PDP NATIONAL SECRETARIAT, FCT, ABUJA BACKGROUND: 1. On the 9th day of October, 2024, the National Working Committee (NWC) issued a timetable for the conduct of Zonal Congress in the Southeast Zone of the Peoples Democratic Party. 2. On the 22nd day of January, 2025, the Zonal Secretary, South East of the Peoples Democratic Party, Hon. Chief James Ugwu issued a notice, without an agenda, for the holding of a Zonal Executive Committee (ZEC) meeting at Government House, Enugu on the 24th day of January, 2025. 3. In reaction to the said notice of the Zonal Secretary, the South East Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ukpai Ukairo Esq. wrote a legal opinion, concerning the status of the said notice of the Zonal Secretary, which was passed to relevant officers of the PDP at different levels and therein concluded thus: (1) Chief/Dr. Ali Odefa is no longer a member of the Peoples Democratic Party and should not be found in the circle of any official role within PDP. (2) Accordingly, he should not have any role or play any part in any form or manner with concerning the affairs of the PDP. (3) By Article 27(3) of the Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party the Zonal Executive Committee can only be summoned at the instance of the National Vice Chairman. In consideration of the fact that there is no National Vice Chairman in office the Zonal Executive Committee Meeting of the South East fixed for the 24th January, 2025 cannot be a lawful meeting of the organ of the party. 4. Arising from the foretasted legal opinion, the members of the Zonal Working Committee (ZWC) from Abia, Imo and Anambra States and several statutory members of the Zonal Working Committee ignored the notice of meeting and consequently boycotted the meeting. 5. However, based on deception and suppression of facts by Chief/Dr. Ali Odefa, there was a meeting at Enugu State Government House on the said 24th January, 2025 which took decisions concerning the affairs of the Peoples Democratic Party regarding the Zonal Congress of the PDP and at the said meeting unlawfully recognized Hon. Ude Okoye, as National Secretary of the PDP in utter contempt of the binding order of stay of execution of the judgment they relied on. 6. The stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, South East, being conscious of the consequences of the status of the said meeting at Enugu State Government House, and determined not to allow a derailment of the smooth and lawful administration of the affairs of the PDP in the South East came together to discuss on-going developments in PDP, South East with a view to charting a new course founded on law and inclusiveness. 7. As part of the briefings of developments in the PDP South East, was that the Congresses held in Ebonyi and Anambra States were nullified by Courts and that the National Legal Adviser had in accordance with his functions advised due compliance with the judgment and accordingly the relevant organ of the party shall proceed to conduct fresh congresses for the states. 8. In addition, there was a review of the events surrounding the orchestrated attempts to illegally remove the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party. RESOLUTIONS: (1) That the said meeting held on Friday, the 24th January, 2025 at Government House, Enugu, on the basis of the said notice of the Zonal Secretary was not a meeting of the structure of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Constitution arising from the following: (a) There was no Zonal Working Committee (ZWC) preceding the Zonal Executive Committee (ZEC) Meeting and accordingly no memorandum was produced for adoption by the ZEC Meeting as required by Article 27(7) of the PDP Constitution. (b) There was no proper summoning of the ZEC Meeting because there is no person who lawfully summoned the meeting and presided over same in that: (i) Chief/Dr. Ali Odefa was a member of Oguduokwor Ward in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State Chapter of the PDP. (ii) Arising from multiple breaches of the Constitution by Chief/Dr Ali Odefa the Ward, in accordance with the constitution and settled political norms, initiated disciplinary measures against him and suspended him. (iii) In the process of concluding the disciplinary procedure the Ward discovered the challenge posed by Articles 57(7) and 59(3) of the Constitution of the Party and sought legal intervention. (iv) The Federal High Court in SUIT NO: FHC/ A1/CS/2024 nullified the said Articles of the Constitution and upheld the suspension Chief/Dr. Ali Odefa thereby paving way for the continuation and conclusion of the disciplinary procedure. (v) Accordingly, the disciplinary procedure was, within the period of suspension concluded, in accordance with the rules of natural justice, and he was expelled from the PDP. (vi) As at today he has not appealed against the decision of a lawful arm of the party and the decision of the Federal High Court was never and has not been stayed. (2) The purported zoning of South East offices which allegedly was proposed and adopted at the said meeting is also not a decision of an official structure of the Peoples Democratic Party arising from the absence of Pre-ZEC Meeting of the Zone, the legal incapacity of the said Chief/Dr. Ali Odefa and the participation of Ebonyi and Anambra States SWC Members as delegates in the meeting at Government House, Enugu though their Congresses had been nullified by the court. (3) The recognition of the Hon. Udo Okoye, as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, is hereby condemned being an exercise that is a breach of the Constitution and an afront to the rule of law because de facto and de jure the National Secretary of the of the Peoples Democratic Party is His Excellency Sen. Sam Anyanwu. (4) In view of the above we recommend that the relevant lawful organs of the Peoples Democratic Party proceed immediately to ensure that the affairs of the South East Zone of the PDP is managed in accordance with the relevant sections of the Constitution of the PDP and upon this pedestal the appointment of Hon. Chidiebere Egwu Goodluck as successor to Chief Dr. Ali Odefa is hereby ratified to ensure that the Zonal Working Committee would fully be constituted to administer the affairs of the PDP, South East in accordance with the Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party. (5) Based on the advice of the National Legal Adviser which is founded on nullification of the congresses in Anambra and Ebonyi States the relevant organs of the party shall immediately ensure that fresh congresses are held in accordance with the the Electoral Act and Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party. (6) Arising from a review of events surrounding the assault on the office of the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party we unequivocally pass a vote of confidence on the National Secretary based on our informed conviction that he is discharging his duties in accordance with best practices in party administration. NB: The communique was read to the Press after it was adopted by the meeting.

On the surface, Natasha presents a striking figure—poised and captivating. But beneath this façade lies a soul simmering with discontent, fueled by the oil of bitterness. It leaves one wondering, why is this woman so consumed by a cycle of venom and conflict? If she isn't clashing with her colleagues, she's sparring with individuals summoned before Senate committees. She appears to be perpetually at war—with herself and those around her. Her latest episode of unrestrained theatrics came during the recent budget defense session, where the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaib Audu, presented the ministry's budget for scrutiny. In an all-too-familiar display of impulsiveness, Natasha went ballistic, her demeanor chaotic and her words misinformed. It was bewildering to witness a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria seemingly unaware that ministries are coordinating entities overseeing agencies under them. Despite her barrage of misplaced accusations, the minister responded with composure and tact. He calmly reminded her that the budget in question predates his tenure and adheres to established statutory provisions, emphasizing that nothing presented was new—it was simply an age-old budget framework. Senator Natasha Akpoti’s repeated missteps are becoming increasingly embarrassing, not only to the constituents she represents but also to the entire Senate. She seems more interested in courting controversy and seeking cheap attention than in making meaningful legislative contributions. Her fixation on theatrics over substance has overshadowed her potential to effect change. Rather than indulging in unnecessary grandstanding, it would serve her well to focus on mastering the intricacies of legislative responsibilities. The Senate is not a stage for antagonizing the executive or turning serious national issues into dramatic spectacles. Instead, it is a platform for collaborative governance, one that requires poise, knowledge, and decorum. If Senator Natasha is genuinely committed to the steel industry’s revival, she should rally behind the Minister of Steel Development, supporting initiatives that will bring Nigeria’s steel sector back to life. The task at hand is far too critical to be reduced to a sideshow. Natasha, it’s time to trade the theatrics for impact. Join the cruise of progress, not drama. Fanisi Aiyetoro Writes from Lokoja

A nascent socio-political group, Democrats for Justice, Equity and Fairness (DJEF) has raised alarm over insidious plots to tarnish the image of the immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel. The DJEF in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Dr John Hassan, and made available to newsmen in Abuja, said “there are devious plots being hatched by perceived enemies of the former governor to rubbish his achievements and bring his personality to a public odium". The group noted that those behind these callous schemes have hired nebulous groups to write frivolous petitions to anti-corruption bodies making unfounded allegations against former Governor Emmanuel. The DJEF stressed that it could not have been a mere coincidence that a wave of media attacks is being hauled at Elder Emmanuel about the same time when a purported joint account committee of the National Assembly has been created to conduct investigations into projects that were appropriated for and legislatively passed by the State House of Assembly. It described the investigation by the said National Assembly committee as an "unconstitutional scheme fraudulently designed and tailored as a witch-hunt to achieve a pre-determined result against perceived enemies of some high placed persons in the National Assembly (See bromides). “For the record, the Emmanuel Administration left behind audited accounts of every money spent, on every single projects, ministry by ministry, in fully bounded formats for emphasis and reference purposes,” the DJEF further stated. According to the group, "this illegitimate pattern of using the privileges of office to engage in personal squabbles with perceived enemies is totally undemocratic and constitute an abuse of office. "At this critical time in our national history, the National Assembly ought to lead a course of action that will prosper our nation and not being used to harrass, intimidate and discredit innocent Nigerians". The group cautioned against such and urged the National Assembly not to allow itself to be used as instruments of intimidation against Nigerians, especially individuals that have meritoriously served the nation in various capacities.

…Urges FCT minister to undergo medical examination Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Tuesday, called on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, to stop insulting elders if he hopes to attain similar status someday. He also called on the former governor of Rivers state, to visit a health facility to ascertain his current mental health. Frank, according to a statement in Abuja, reacted to Wike’s recent barrage of attacks against his former political allies turned foes, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Governor of Rivers State Siminalayi Fubara, former Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili, and the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi. He said the call has become necessary to enable Wike regain his sense of decorum and to treat those deserving of respect with their due irrespective of political differences. Frank said: “Wike needs thorough soul searching, character and mental re-examination. Acts of gross disrespect should not be hidden behind political exigencies. “Because he looks older than his age should not make him believe he is in the same age bracket with Peter Odili, Uche Secondus and others he now takes pleasure in insulting. “No normal and sensible person would insult elders like Wike has done except they are under the influence of intoxicants or other harmful psychotropic substances. “We know Wike is praying to attain age 80 and above someday but if he doesn’t stop his current disdain, disregard and disrespect for those who are older than him, one day he will reap what he has sown. “We advise him stop the intake of intoxicants including his 40-year old Whisky and to urgently seek medical attention to determine if he's doing these things in his right senses or under any influence whatsoever.” Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, also, urged Wike to leave the people of Rivers State alone, having failed in his efforts to make the state ungovernable “because since his exit as governor, he has not given Governor Fubara a breathing space thereby stifling the development of the state.” “We further advise Wike to engage the services of a speech therapist to train him in the art of modern public speaking in order to prevent him from being garrulous and loquacious. “Otherwise, President Tinubu would soon be his next for insult the moment he feels he is no longer benefiting from him, the same way he has been insulting some benefactors that helped him to rise to the level he is in life today, like Peter Odili, ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife and Rotimi Amaechi.” Source: https://naijagg.com/timi-frank-to-wike-stop-insulting-elders/

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Tuesday, condemned in strong terms, the scathing attacks by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, against ex-Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili. Wike, had on Sunday, contemptuously repudiated Odili for allegedly siding with Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State. The Minister who spoke at a Special Thanksgiving Service organised by factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, at the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Oro-Igwe/Eliogbolo Archdeaconry Church of the Holy Spirit, Eliozu Parish, Port Harcourt, had referred to Odili as an ‘ingrate’ and ‘rent seeker.’ However, Frank in his reaction to the verbal tirade which was contained in a statement he released in Abuja, said that Wike has again exhibited his true character of betraying his friends and benefactors. Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, said: “Wike’s condemnable outburst against Odili showed how quickly he can turn friends into foes and his irredeemable unpredictability. This is not his first time and it will not be his last. “Nigerians are aware how Wike betrayed ex-President Goodluck Johnathan and his wife Patience, after appointing him minister of Education and assisting him to become governor of Rivers State. “Nigerians are also aware of how the Minister worked against the political interests of ex-governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, after benefiting maximally from the latter’s political patronage. “In 2023, Wike formed an unholy alliance against his party - Peoples Democratic Party - and made sure they lost the presidency. Up till this moment, he has continued to orchestrate crises in the party like he is doing in Rivers state, to weaken it politically ahead of 2027. “What better evidence of treachery do we need from a man who is both a member of PDP and minister in an APC’s administration. “This is why I have kept warning President Bola Tinubu to beware of Wike as we approach 2027. Wike, like Brutus in Julius Caesar, often baits his allies with pretenses and subterfuge only to strike them down with fury when they needed him most. He has no respect for elders nor the hands that feed him. “For Wike, fidelity to political relationships is anathema. If he is not the one in charge, no other person should be. “Besides, no one is fooled. All his shenanigans and braggadocio of completing and commissioning projects in the FCT are arsenals he is piling up to confront Tinubu in 2027 by portraying himself as a better presidential option, and this shall become manifest as the days unfold.” He called on Tinubu to be wary and careful of his relationship with Wike, in order not to be his next victim. Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has raised the alarm over the real targets of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in his ongoing wave of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) revocations in Abuja. Frank in a statement in Abuja described the alleged revocations of C of Os belonging to former President Muhammadu Buhari, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume and Speaker of the House of Representatives, among others, as a Nollywood Script designed to intimidate members of the opposition who are Wike’s real targets. He said: “We have intelligence at our disposal that the list of land allottees whose C of O have purportedly been revoked by Wike is part of his grand strategy to harass and intimidate members of opposition political parties and others that may want to contest against President Bola Tinubu in 2027. “Already Buhari has denied owning the land attached to his name which was purportedly revoked by Wike while Abbas has said he is not indebted to the FCTA. “Every sane Nigerian knows that Wike as a minister in Tinubu’s administration dare not revoke lands belonging to key officials in this administration listed by Wike. “Therefore Wike is using their names as a cover to deflect the criticism of his land grabbing spree and his demolitions of properties in the FCT that have been targeted at poor and innocent Nigerians.” Recall that Chief Rita Lori-Ogbebor, the wife of a late military officer, Ikponmwosa Paul-Ogbebor, owner of Paulosa Nigeria Limited had accused Wike of granting approval for the Right of Occupancy (R of O) and Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) of their estate land to one Saravera Nigeria Limited - a company allegedly under the control of the House of Representatives Minority Leader, Kingsley Chinda, a known ally of the minister. He challenged Wike to show proof that top All Progressives Congress (APC) members who are political office holders contained in the list he published actually owned lands said to have been revoked. He called on members of opposition political parties who intend to run against Tinubu in 2027 and those that have opposed Wike’s shenanigans in Rivers State to brace up for Wike’s vendetta, persecution and oppression by way of revocation of their land titles in FCT. He said: “Wike is playing politics with the lives and emotions of Nigerians. He has marked out members of the opposition whose lands and houses he intends to seize. “What he is doing in FCT is not different from what he did in Rivers State as Governor where he revoked C of O of lands of his political opponents and demolished their property,” he said. He declared that the next wave of land seizures by the minister would be targeted at members of the opposition who are either against Tinubu or Wike. He is poised to revoke their land titles and demolish their structures as a payback for backing Fubara against him in Rivers. Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, accused Tinubu of giving Wike the unrestrained powers to carry out these egregious and anti-people actions and warned that the President should be careful least the Minister gives him the ‘Jonathan treatment.’ “This is the same way he acted sycophantically to curry ex-President Jonathan’s favours and later betrayed him. If care is not taken Tinubu would be Wike’s next victim of subterfuge because betrayal is written in his DNA. “He is using his powers as a minister to witch-hunt all those he believed to have worked against his interest, especially in the PDP, in 2023 and those he thinks are opposed to him currently in the fight between him and Governor Fubara in Rivers State. “Wike is very bitter at the moment because he has lost Rivers State that would have been his cash cow to Governor Fubara and that is one of the reasons he meting out vendetta against perceived opponents,” he said. Popular cleric, Prophet Elijah Bamidele Ilukholor has recently warned the Labour Party 2023 Presidential candidate, Peter Obi to work with Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 Presidential candidate of the PDP, as the only condition by which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be unable to win the 2027 Presidential election. In a video that has now gone viral, the Prophet warned that Peter Obi must give in to the realities in the country and let reason prevail. He said further that the coming back together of Atiku and Peter Obi is the only way President Tinubu will not win a second term, come 2027. There have been high hopes over the weeks in both camps of the Peter Obi supporters and the Atiku supporters that both leaders can come together to form a common front and lead an opposition ticket, come 2027, to ensure Tinubu is voted out of office as President. This prophecy by Prophet Elijah Bamidele Ilukholor is now the latest in the series of what is to come that has since formed the foundation of the conversation, as the build up to 2027 begins to gain momentum already in the wake of the current harsh economic realities in the country such that are already prompting Nigerians to sought for an alternative they can vote into office of President, come 2027. …Says Rivers’ Governor more decent, responsible Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Sunday, described the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, as most unqualified to judge the personality and character of the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara. Frank who made this assertion while reacting to Akpabio’s recent tirade against Fubara in a statement in Abuja, said Akpabio cannot give what he does not have. Akpabio had while speaking as special guest of honour at a public lecture and book launch held in Port Harcourt to mark the 57th birthday anniversary of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, accused Fubara of “treachery and betrayal” against Wike. He reminded Akpabio that even though the feet of birds may face the ground no matter how high they soar, character is like pregnancy which cannot be hidden forever and that a friend to a betrayal is himself a betrayer, “after all birds of the same feather flock together.” Frank said: “The man who spoke is a known betrayer, the man who he was defending is a betrayer. So a betrayer and treacherous character is most unqualified to tag a more decent and responsible man a betrayer. “Akpabio has betrayal in his DNA, alongside Minister Wike. Both of them have castigated the APC in the past, only to turn around to wine, dine with and praise the same party. What should we call that? Is it not strange that Akpabio has suddenly become the mouthpiece of Wike, being birds of the same feather? “Akpabio has proved overtime that he is a Pharisee who sees the speck in another’s eyes whereas he has a log in his. Who is the betrayer? A man who insists that the the resources of Rivers State should be used for the benefit of its people and not to serve a godfather or a man who approved four budgets for the President that are running concurrently in 2024? “Who is a betrayer? A man who is fighting to liberate Rivers state from Wike’s strangle-hold of oppression or a man who turned the 10th Senate into a rubber stamp and an extension of the executive? “When Akpabio was elected to the Senate in 2015 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, he usurped the position of minority leader from Senator James Manager who was then the most ranking Senator from the South South against established Senate tradition despite being a rookie legislator. “Akpabio betrayed the PDP when he defected to the APC even as minority leader in the 8th Senate. Besides, we don’t think Wike can complain of being betrayed because despite past antecedents, he is still very well in the game of betrayal by being a PDP minister in an APC administration. “Wike betrayed PDP in cahoots with four other governors and the party lost massively in 2023. Since then he has remained incurable by ensuring that all efforts by leaders of the party to put their acts together are frustrated. “Akpabio hates Governor Fubara because he is not used to standing for his people, when they need him the most.” Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, called on Governor Fubara not be distracted as Senator Akpabio is known for what he’s doing presently. He plays the politics of ’where belle face’. He said: “Remain steadfast Governor Fubara as God will grant you victory over your political opponents and traducers just like your recent victory at the Appeal Court restoring monthly allocations to Rivers State. The end will justify the means at end of the day. “We urge the public to disregard Akpabio's baseless accusations against Governor Fubara and instead focus on the issues that matter most to the people of Rivers State.” Source: https://naijagg.com/akpabio-not-qualified-to-judge-fubara-says-timi-frank/

Former National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Friday, in strong terms condemned the deafening silence of President Bola Tinubu over illegal mass demolition of houses by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. Frank who made this condemnation in a statement in Abuja, urged the President to urgently call Wike to order and halt the demolitions or suffer the repercussion of the oppressive tendencies of the FCT administration during the 2027 presidential poll. Frank said: “Mr. President, say, so much has been going on with FCT since Wike took over as Minister of the FCT. In the process of acting sycophantically to impress you, he is demonstrating that he is performing minister, he is inflicting pains for Nigerians. that it's causing more pains to Nigerians in FCT. That Wike is terrorizing the FCT. He lamented that the actions of the Minister have resulted in immense loss and pain for the owners of the demolished houses. Frank said: “It is shocking and unacceptable that President Bola Tinubu has maintained a deafening silence on this matter. “As the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it is his duty to protect the rights and welfare of all citizens. His silence on this issue is a clear indication of his administration's endorsement of illegality and disregard for the plight of ordinary Nigerians.” Frank also condemned comments credited to Senate President Godswill Akpabio who on Thursday said during a motion meant to halt demolitions in FCT moved by Senator Ireti Kingibe, that the Senate cannot stop Wike from demolishing houses in the territory because they are court-ordered. “Invariably, it means that the resolution of the Senate urging Wike to stop demolitions pending its investigations is dead on arrival, therefore the more reason why the President must wade in and urgently stop the illegal and anti-people actions of Wike,” he said. He accused Akpabio and his ilks of allegedly being among the beneficiaries of Wike’s land grabbing posture in the name of cleaning and restoring the FCT masterplan and called for something to done urgently to stop the ravaging bulldozers of the FCTA. Frank, who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, however reminded that President not to be unmindful of the fact that it is him and not Wike that will be on the ballot in 2027 because Wike’s action in making enemies for him is enough to make him lose the election. “From all indications, it does appear that Wike is carrying out the demolitions with the approval of the President which explains why the President has been mum the face of these tyrannical, dictatorial and illegal demolitions being carried out by Wike in the FCT,” he said. He accused Wike of being vindictive by taking out his anger of losing his political battle with Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State on innocent and law-abiding residents of the FCT through demolitions and disruptions. He described a situation where Wike will tell house owners after demolition of their property to go to court and follow the law, as inhuman when he knows they will not be able to get justice under judicial system he has done all he can to compromise. He declared that the present demolition exercises by Wike and the inability of house owners with genuine title documents would further scare away foreign investors that the President is making efforts to attract to the country. “How will investors come to Nigeria when they know they cannot get justice in the event of breaches,” he declared. Frank added: “It is most unfortunate that Wike is presently administering the FCT like his personal estate even as the President remains silent. The evidences are there everywhere, how Wike has been pulling down houses and taking over lands from companies, private owners and business people, and thereafter reallocate the same plots to himself via proxies, his family members, cronies and political associates. “We urge the President to take immediate action to address the suffering of the victims of these demolitions. The President must intervene to ensure that the rights of these citizens are protected and that they receive adequate compensation for their losses. “We equally call on all Nigerians to join me in condemning the actions of the Minister of FCT and the silence of the President on this matter. We must stand together to demand justice and protection for the rights of all citizens.” Source: https://naijagg.com/timi-frank-condemns-tinubus-silence-over-wikes-massive-illegal-demolition-of-houses-in-fct/

Asue Ighodalo will prove his case beyond any and all reasonable doubt. Andrew Enantomhen said "there are overwhelming evidences to prove that Asue Ighodalo won the Edo State Governorship election. "I am certain that Asue Ighodalo and the team of lawyers he has assembled will do justice to the burden of proof. "This one will not go away like one of those cases where the APC will manipulate their way through court. "There are evidences and the Asue Ighodalo team of lawyers are highly experienced enough on election litigation cases for me to say that I am confident that Asue Ighodalo will win the case even up to the Supreme Court." "It is sad that APC have sponsored their lions and tigers to physically attack our supporters this morning at the Tribunal, I therefore call on the 'six-month temporary selected' Governor of Edo state to call his thugs to order as any other further provocation by his lions and tigers will be resisted by the Edo People," Andrew Enantomhen further said. Andrew further said, "if you claim you won the election, why are you afraid? Why are you sponsoring Agberos, thugs to attack Asue and his supporters? Enough is enough!" Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Thursday, gave the Federal and Ekiti State Government 48 hours to release a human rights lawyer, Dr. Dele Farotimi from remand or face mass protests. Frank who made this call in a statement in reaction to the remand of Farotimi, called on Nigerians to occupy all police stations and formations in the country should the government fail to release the rights activist unconstitutionally within the stipulated time beginning from when he was remanded. An Ekiti State Chief Magistrates Court, Ado Ekiti Division, had on Wednesday, ordered the remand of Farotimi, in the state’s correctional centre. Farotimi was arraigned in court over alleged defamation of character following his book, ‘Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System’ where he alleged, among others, that a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Afe Babalola, had compromised the Supreme Court. However, Frank said there is more to the arrest and remand of Farotimi than the alleged defamation alibi. He said the remand was a way by the Federal Government to intimidate and harass Farotimi for often criticising the anti-people policies of the President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He condemned the arrest and remand of Farotimi even as he condemned the police and the judiciary for turning themselves into the oppressive arm of the present administration. According to him Farotimi doesn’t deserve his current travails because he is a man who believes in and respects the rule of law. “Farotimi is a man of truth, a man of principle and a defender of democracy. If they believe he has done anything inappropriate, they should have invited him peacefully and he honour their invitation rather than the way he was arrested and subsequently remanded on an alleged offence that is bailable under the Nigerian law. “This shows clearly that it is not because of the petition from Afe Babalola that is making them to give Farotimi this highly dehumanizing experience. There is more to the arrest because Farotimi is known to be a vocal critic of the government.” Frank, who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, called on Nigerians to join in the fight to free Farotimi from remand and equally stop the government from using state institutions to oppress and suppress Nigerians speaking out against their dictatorial and hardship-inducing policies, saying, it is Farotimi today, it may be another Nigerian tomorrow.” He quoted a German Pastor Martin Niemöller who said: “First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.” Source: https://naijagg.com/timi-frank-gives-fg-48-hour-ultimatum-to-release-farotimi/

A close contact of late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah family has come out to refute the Spokesperson of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Yemi Adaramodu on the issue of what roles the Nigerian Senate played during the burial of late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. "On Saturday, 17th August 2024, the Senate President led a delegation of 4 Senators namely Senator Abiru Adetokunbo, Senator Saliu Mustapha, Senator Karimi Steve and Senator Osita Ngwu and attended the wedding of daughter of ranking Senator Victor Umeh, and been that he was in Lagos same day (17th August 2024) paid a condolence visit to the family of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in the same Lagos. "It is a big lie that 100 Senators attended the night of tribute of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah held on monday evening, 18th November 2024 at NAF event centre Abuja. The Senators that attended the event are not up to 30 in number, despite the fact that the event held in Abuja. Let the Senate Spokesman provide pictorial or video evidence to refute this open fact instead of lying and deceiving the public that 100 Senators attended the event. "That on Tuesday, 19th November 2024, that the Senate decorated Senator Ifeanyi Ubah's seat with National flag and also that the Senate dedicated the whole legislative day of the said date to pay tribute to the late Senator Ubah is no big deal. lt is their responsibility and role since Senator Ifeanyi Ubah died in active service as serving Senator. "That the barefaced lie that substantial Senators attended Senator Ifeanyi Uba's burial in Nnewi on 22nd Nov 2024 cannot hold water. "LET THE SENATE SPOKESMAN LIST THE NAMES OF SENATORS THAT ATTENDED THE BURIAL. WE REITERATE THAT ONLY 9 SENATORS ATTENDED THE BURIAL OUT OF 109 SENATORS (7 SENATORS FROM THE SOUTH EAST, 1 FROM SOUTH SOUTH AND 1 FROM NORTH CENTRAL). THIS 9 SENATORS REPRESENT ONLY 8.2% Senators attendance). "If the Senate Spokesman has contrary pictorial or video evidence to refute let him present to the public," he said. "We seriously challenge Senate Spokesman to provide evidence to refute the issue of Senate not liaising with the burial organising committee to know arrangements for the burial of their colleague or that they did not contribute a kobo for logistics for burial arrangements or sent any money to the Burial committee for their departed colleague," he further said. Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Tuesday, called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently direct the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, to stop the ongoing demolition of the houses of the poor and vulnerable in the city. Frank who made this call in a statement in Abuja, lamented that the minister has engaged in demolition and alleged land grabbing in the FCT as a new means of livelihood by allocating revoked plots of land to himself and his cronies. He declared that through the demolitions, the FCT minister has given the President bad name more than any other appointee in the present administration. Frank said: “The minister has continued to cause damage to Mr President’s government by his ill-timed demolitions. “It will interest you to note that it is alleged that it is a new mode of settlement for Minister Wike. “He pretends to be doing this for the benefit of the President, but all his activities in the FCT is for his personal benefit. “Mr President, one of the reasons you are called T-Pain is as a result of Minister Wike’s wickedness and insensitivity as well as intimidation and harassment of the residents of the FCT. “For your information sir, the residents of some parts of the FCT have become homeless as a result of his greed and insensitivity. “It is worthy to note that Wike has revoked more land than any other past minister of the FCT. “The revoked land is allegedly given almost immediately to his cronies, within and outside government, while he asks the victims to go to court to seek redress, when he knows that he has bought the conscience of the judiciary/judges as he has continued to give them land as well as build houses for them, especially in the FCT, for reasons not well defined. “All his friends from Rivers State and other parts of the country are beneficiaries of the land grabbing as he has allegedly converted the land in FCT to his personal estate without due process and consultation with the National Assembly, particularly the Senate and its committee on FCT. “I will expose wike and his friends, both within and outside government at the right time.” Frank, who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, also accused Wike of equally selling the plots of land to raise money to fight Governor Siminalayi Fubara, instead of focusing on curing the dearth of infrastructure in the FCT, in terms of health, education and renewable energy to generate power for the people of the FCT. “What he is doing in the FCT presently, was exactly what he did in Rivers State. However, my advice for him is that FCT is not Rivers State. “My advice to Mr President is to take action immediately by relieving him of his duty before it’s too late. “If you (President) fail to do so, you will have yourself to blame. Take a decisive action against Wike who wants to destroy your government; don’t be silent in the face of injustice and intimidation against the very people you govern. “Don’t listen to his tomfoolery as he’s irrelevant both in Rivers and at the National level. Sack him and you will see how irrelevant he is,” he said. Source: https://naijagg.com/timi-frank-to-tinubu-order-wike-to-stop-demolishing-houses-of-poor-innocent-residents-in-fct/

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has welcomed the arrest of the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged fraud. Frank who gave this indication in a statement in Abuja, however urged the EFCC to also arrest and prosecute former Governors who are contemporaries of Okowa with petitions of fraud against them, especially the G-5 Governors. The G-5 Governors are Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Samuel (Benue), Okezie and Ikpeazu (Abia). He said while he is in total support of the EFCC’s efforts to curb corruption in the country, he would not condone political vendetta against Okowa now being selectively targeted for prosecution because he is a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Frank said: “We welcome the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's (EFCC) arrest of former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who served as running mate to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 Presidential election. “Okowa's arrest is a significant step towards holding public officials accountable for their actions, particularly regarding the alleged misappropriation of N1.3trillion from Delta State's derivation funds. “However, we urge the EFCC to adopt a more comprehensive rather than selective approach in addressing corruption. “Nigerians are aware that there are pending petitions against other former governors with the EFCC, notably the G-5 Governors - Wike, Ortom, Ugwuanyi, and Ikpeazu - who are members of the PDP but supported Tinubu's Presidential bid in 2023. “These governors have been accused of various financial misdeeds, and it is essential that the EFCC investigates and prosecutes them accordingly. Wike has no immunity and he cannot be above the law, therefore let the EFCC arrest and prosecute him too.” Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, added: “While we are happy to see that EFCC has arrest Okowa, it should do same to the rest, particularly the G 5 governors. We want to see them arrested, charged to court and prosecuted. “Intelligence from our sources, shows there’s a memo from the presidency to EFCC not to prosecute the G -5 governors as part of the bargain they had during the 2023 general election. “We challenge the EFCC to prove us wrong by arresting members of the G-5 governors based on the various petitions against them. “Is the EFCC saying that the G-5 governors are saints and have no corruption cases against them? The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, presented a petition against ex-Governor Ikpeazu and nothing has been done. Besides, there are other officials in Tinubu’s government that have corruption cases to answer, such as the Minister of Works, David Umahi and the Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawale that has engaged in trading corruption allegations with the Zamfara State Government, among others.” He called on the EFCC to demonstrate its commitment to impartiality and transparency, saying, “Failing to arrest and prosecute other former governors who were Okowa's contemporaries, as well as officials in the Tinubu’s administration with pending petitions, would undermine the legitimacy of Okowa's arrest. Such selective justice would amount to political vendetta. “We caution the EFCC that failure to act on these petitions and prosecute other corrupt governors may lead us to report them to their UK and US partners, potentially jeopardizing international cooperation. “Alternatively, we demand the unconditional release of Okowa, if the EFCC cannot demonstrate a genuine commitment to fighting corruption without this glaring bias. “The EFCC's guidelines on arrest, bail, and processing of suspects emphasize the importance of adhering to the rule of law and international best practices. “We expect the commission to uphold these principles in its investigation and prosecution of Okowa and other accused individuals.” He noted that to restore public trust, “the EFCC must Investigate and prosecute all corruption cases, regardless of political affiliation; ensure transparency in its investigation and prosecution processes and demonstrate impartiality in its treatment of accused individuals.” He said that it is only through comprehensive and unbiased action that the EFCC can truly serve the Nigerian people and uphold the principles of justice. .....urges FG to compensate victims Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Tuesday, described President Tinubu’s directive on the release of minors arrested and detained during the #EndBadGovernance protests as a step in the right direction. Frank who made this assertion in a statement in Abuja, however, urged the President to equally order the release of all detainees being held for exercising their constitutional right to protest against bad policies of government because the “President is known to have embarked and led series of protests during the pro-democracy struggle and in 2012 when the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan removed fuel subsidy.” He urged the President to equally reverse some of his bad economic policies like the floating of the naira and outright removal of fuel subsidy which have brought untold hardship in the country and worsened the condition of living of majority of Nigerians. He expressed commitment to commend the President when he takes a positive step in governance and criticize him when his action is against the wellbeing of the generality of Nigerians. He called on the Federal Government to compensate the minors, after release, for violating their fundamental human rights and cruelty meted on them by the police who detained them for over three months under dehumanizing conditions without trial. Frank said: “We warmly welcome President Bola Tinubu's decision to order the immediate release of minors arrested during the #EndBadGovernance protests from detention. “The President's action acknowledges the concerns of Nigerians and the international community regarding the treatment of protesters, especially minors. “However, we also call for accountability and reform within the intelligence community. “The fact that minors were detained for over 90 days without prompt attention from the President's office raises concerns about the effectiveness of our intelligence agencies. “We urge the President to investigate this lapse and consider replacing intelligence chiefs who failed to bring this matter to his attention.” He demanded that the probe ordered by the President should start from the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, the Commissioners of Police in-charge of Kano and Kaduna states who arrested the minors. “This probe must not be swept under the rug, we shall monitor to ensure that the findings are made public and appropriate sanctions meted out to officers found to be complicit,” he said. Besides, to ensure adequate justice for the victimised and oppressed minors, he urged the Federal Government to provide financial assistance to their families, offer the minors scholarships and enroll them in reputable boarding schools to help them overcome their traumatic experiences. “The minors should also be availed the services of professional counsellors to address any emotional or psychological distress. “By taking these steps, we can begin to heal the wounds of the past and build a more just and compassionate society for all Nigerians,” he said. Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu now popularly referred to as ‘T-Pain’ to order the unconditional release of minors being detained over their alleged participation in the recent #EndBadGovernance protests in parts of the country and send them to school. Frank who made this call in a statement in Abuja, also strongly condemned the detention of the minors in an adult correctional facility among hardened criminals. He equally condemned the N10million bail posted by Justice Friday Egwuatu of the Federal Hight Court Abuja to be fulfilled by each of the minors before being allowed to regain their freedom, describing it as judicial tyranny and cruelty to children. He lamented that the children have spent over 90 days in detention under inhuman conditions, saying even looters in the country who contributed to impoverishing and confining these kids to the streets don’t get similar treatment because they are buoyant financially to buy freedom when arrested. Frank said: “For President Tinubu not to have ordered the release of these children since Friday but watched them sent to prison despite public outcry, shows heartlessness and lack of fatherly love and care for children. “Even in Western countries like US and the UK, chilldren who are convicted of crimes of murder are not sent to jail but rather taken to juvenile homes for psychological therapy and rehabilitation. That is what Nigerians expected from the President. “The silence of the President over these cruelty to children is one more reason that Nigerians have resolved to nickname him ‘T-Pain’ because the plight of these children ought to compel the President to act a leader with conscience by considering these minors as his grand children or great grandchildren. “The President must ditch bureaucracy at this time and immediately order the release of these children with a directive that they be immediately enrolled in school. “Having watched the children sent to jail, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Justice Minister, Lateef Fagbemi’s (SAN) after thought in retrieving their case file from the Police is merely a delayed tactics which further aggravates the trauma these children are presently going through.” According to him, the ruling of the judge after seeing the harrowing plight of the kids in their malnourished and fragile state shows that the judiciary has been heavily compromised to reward corruption within the system of which they are beneficiaries. “They have sold their conscience too. That's why a judge can post N10million and other stiff requirements as condition for each kid to be granted bail,” he said. Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, commended Nigerians who have equally condemned the action of the police, FHC and silence of the President and said the only option left for Nigerians is to prepare to stop this ‘T-Pain ProMax’ with their votes in 2027. He called on the international community and child’s rights advocates to come to the aid of these children and ensure they are released and that they and over 20million out-of-school-children in the country are educated to enable them realise their potentials as future leaders. Former Spokesperson of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of plots to remove Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State from office. Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has accused President Bola Tinubu of masterminding a sinister plot to remove the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, from office. This is even as he condemned in the strongest terms the recent bizarre ruling by a Federal High Court seizing the monthly allocations accruing to Rivers State. Frank who made these disclosures in a statement in Abuja, described the obnoxious court decision as one of the script written by the President in his bid to either force Fubara to join the APC or be removed from office. “This is why the President has remained mute despite the gross violation of the Constitution by the courts and police in Rivers state all this while. “The President is angry that Fubara disrespected him by refusing to join the APC because the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has convinced him that he cannot win presidential election in Rivers State in 2027 with Fubara in charge,” Frank said. According to the Bayelsa-born political activist, Wike is the proxy fighting Fubara on behalf of the President. “Already all security agencies and federal government institutions are against Fubara because they have been directed to ensure that Fubara succumbs to the President wishes or be removed. “This is the only reason why Justice Joyce Abdulmalik can make an unconstitutional order concerning statutory allocations to Rivers without fear of consequences but the consequences will be dire,” he said. He however warned the President to steer clear off Rivers State as any attempt to touch the funds legally accruing to the state or to force Fubara out of office will be resisted by the people of the State and the entire Niger Delta region. “There will definitely be consequences for any illegal action aimed at destabilising Rivers State or intimidating, persecuting and removing Fubara from office. Rivers’ people and the Niger Delta will resist it to the extent that the entire country will feel the impact as the President will not be able to quell the unimaginable uprising that will result from the action,” he said. He urged Fubara to remain steadfast in standing for the people and defending the sovereignty of Rivers state saying the people are solidly behind him. He equally called on leaders of the international community to wade in the crisis by prevailing on the President to stop his plot to remove Fubara or compel him to join the APC, saying that the operations of International Oil Companies (IOCs) in the Niger Delta region would be affected should crisis engulf the region. “A stitch in time saves nine. Let the international community step in now before the crisis boils over. The IOCs definitely need peace to carry out their operations in the region,” he said. Besides, Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, described the unconstitutional ruling by a Federal High Court in Abuja seizing the allocations of Rivers State as a severe affront on democracy and the rule of law in Nigeria and urged the people to resist it. He called on Nigerians to hold Tinubu responsible for any harm that befalls Fubara and the people of Rivers state as his goons beset the state.
