Farmerakinloye6: yes because it is bigger. However, plantinum has more demand in market than diva because not all can afford it.if you are planting like 10000 stand, I will advise you plant 4000 diva and 6000 plantinum. boss, what pumping machine size would I be needing for effective irrigation on a 1-4 plots of land? water source is a 16ft deep well or a stream downhill with a 400ft distance to farm |

modestypii: Cobra 34 f1 is just an upgrade on cobra 26 F1. They have same features, just a slight difference in yield.
For those that need drip tape, I still have drip tape available for sale and other irrigation accessories. Thanks , so am guessing the cobra 34 f1 yields better |

Farmerakinloye6: Land soak today my brothers and sisters! It will require some level of skills to sell grade 3-4 ASAP today, mine fall into category 3, and I managed to sell 8k and 7.5k. I pity a friend today he brought like 60 crate five days ago, like 12 crate was sold 2.5-3k yesterday, and he brought 50 crate (grade 3) today. If am to grow and produce massively at once (50-400 crate) my target place will be Lagos, Benin, Onitsha and port Harcourt. If am growing to sell in Akure market then I'll focus on how I can be bringing tomato to market every two days or everyday. Boss a quick one...... I have access to just a plot (100x50) of land. Would it make sense economically speaking if I do just a plot? It will be rain fed though |

okoroemeka: a good farmer monitors the weather closely,we now have good weather apps that helps in doing that now, don't plant cucumbers if a brief break in heavy rainfall will not appear for 3 days, heavy rainfall will cover the seeds with more soil, the seeds will go down more into the soil and the temperature will be too cold for germination, doing the middle of serious rainy season we just do nursery and cover with tarpulin after germination we transplant. thanks boss, we'll try again using your recommendations |

Agriculture › Re: 500,000 Naira From One Plot Of Land In 90 Days. by johnnyblaze424: 9:42pm On Jun 01, 2019 |
okoroemeka: from my own test and experience,if you prune cucumbers u will get 30% less yield but the fruits will be of international quality and standard, because all the lateral shots that will produce substandard fruits has been removed and fruits will only form on the main stem, but if you don't prune cukes you will get a higher yield of assorted mumble and jumble fruits,we have tried it and decided to go with higher yield and mumble/jumble fruits, the customers are not complaining, and lastly try to prune 2000 cucumbers after 4-5 days you will run away,or less you will have one staff just for pruning . pls what's to be done when the cucumber plants have outgrown the stake/trellises. N.B...the trellis are about 6ft tall |

okoroemeka: hmm, pruning?no my brother we have tried that before and it spread disease around the farm like wildfire,or less u will be sterilizing after cutting one plant and also the crop will try all ways possible to defeat you, because it's programmed to produce lateral shots,I can't forget the first time we pruned cucumbers, the more you prune, the more lateral shots are coming out daily,it's a case of Medusa's head,lf you cut off one two will come,or less you will have workers that will be going around cutting off side shots like in green house. thank you for this eye opener |

okoroemeka: The effect of the 1 kg per hole pig manure is showing in incredible growth,I really think manure must first be used as basal application before planting veggies especially curcubits, the benefits are much, even if it's just that once, npk can take over later,I can no longer bet anything on the outcome of this test, it will be very close,cu 999 won on germination rate, monalisa won on early fruiting, now cu 999 has more vigourous growth, more lateral shots and incredible vine length, but no fruits yet,I am definitely not betting my fresh pot of egusi soup on the outcome of this crazy match. will you be pruning? |
Agriculture › Re: 500,000 Naira From One Plot Of Land In 90 Days. by johnnyblaze424: 10:10pm On May 22, 2019 |
okoroemeka: Necessity is the mother of inventions, the quest for high yield and productivity in cucumber farming is driving us to uncharted territory,we noticed an interesting development in our test farm, the monalisa had poor germination, but it later started coming up to 50-60% germination and surprisingly we went to the farm this morning and all the monalisa has small female modes coming up from the branches of the first true leaf, this is a gynoecious behavior, but we noticed unlike a true gynoecious, it didn't set a female flower at every leaf branch, from what we are seeing it tend to jump one or two leafs then set female flower on the next, which is a good thing because some true gynos set so much fruits that the plant simply crash under the strain,we can even spot two small fruits already in some monalisa crops already, the next stage results I am predicting is at 27-28 days the monalisa will come out with female flowers ready for pollination, while the 999 will still be coming out with only male flowers and its interesting to note that 999 don't come out immediately with female flowers,it will push the males first like a true mono and after 5-10 days female flowers will start opening,I am betting my pot of soup that monalisa will mature first. I noticed similar trait in my greengo pilot, on getting to the farm this morning....I noticed male flowers developing (even though its been churning out loads of female flowers earlier) kinda surprised female flowers are developing before male flowers |
